1st (9) (6/4 +25%)Tommy Pickles |
6/4(+25%) | (9) Tommy Pickles 6/4, Ran to form when second beaten 4 1/4l in a maiden hurdle at Hereford latest; trainer in form; effective 2 1/2-2 3/4m, acts with cut; more to come under rules from point winner, should be winning soon. Clear of the rest last time over this trip at Hereford and this looks a good opportunity. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (5/2 -82%)Mossy Fen Coolio |
5/2(-82%) | (8) Mossy Fen Coolio 5/2, Outpaced but rallied, very promising debut looking in need of stiffer test when fourth beaten 13l in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton latest; that form franked emphatically; off a short-break; impressive point winner, should improve for this step up in trip. Clearcut winner of an Irish point and his Wincanton fourth was encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (25/1 -14%)Jorah D'alma |
25/1(-14%) | (6) Jorah D'alma 25/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon latest; tongue-tie first time; off a short-break; effective at 2m on good to soft; more needed from this former bumper winner. Bumper winner; quiet so far over hurdles and tongue-tie needs to make a difference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (18/1 +64%)Good Boy Griff |
18/1(+64%) | (5) Good Boy Griff 18/1, Improved for debut experience when comfortably held in a novice hurdle here last time; acts on soft; should improve once handicapping. Hasn't looked devoid of ability in bumpers or over hurdles but he'd be a surprise winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (66/1 +0%)Gimarias |
66/1(+0%) | (4) Gimarias 66/1, Still green but improved a little when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Hereford latest; effective at 2m3f on good; hard to fancy. Insufficient promise in two bumpers and as many hurdle races to warrant a second look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (18/1 +45%)Mcelhattan |
18/1(+45%) | (7) Mcelhattan 18/1, Green and never travelled on modest debut when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Carlisle last time; acts on heavy; point winner will appreciate this longer trip, should improve a little for initial experience. Irish point winner; tailed off in a bumper and on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (20/1 +9%)Annual Invitation |
20/1(+9%) | (1) Annual Invitation 20/1, Improved when second beaten 5l in a maiden point at Turtulla latest; off a short-break; point form had knocks; needs more to figure on hurdle debut. Runner-up in his second Irish point but might be one for the long game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (80/1 -344%)Drakaris |
80/1(-344%) | (10) Drakaris 80/1, Outpaced, likely needed stiffer test when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Hereford latest; effective 2m; can improve when ridden more positively, likely get this bit further. Two heavy defeats over hurdles, at 80-1 on both occasions; one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (10/3 +17%)Double Indemnity |
10/3(+17%) | (3) Double Indemnity 10/3, Very promising debut when second beaten 2 1/4l in a novice hurdle at Carlisle latest; effective 2m; likely to get this bit further; more to come judged on point win. Irish point winner and runner-up to a good horse on hurdle debut at Carlisle; up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (28/1 +15%)Donald Jump |
28/1(+15%) | (2) Donald Jump 28/1, Too green to show anything on debut, needed run when down the field in a novice hurdle at Chepstow most recent; hood first time; plenty to prove. Bumper form here offers hope; quiet hurdle debut but headgear returns. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MOSSY FEN COOLIO won a point-to-point by 25 lengths at Tallow before being sold on. He unsurprisingly found an extended 1m7f on the sharp side when finishing fourth at Wincanton on his debut under Rules and should do better upped in distance. Double Indemnity ran on into second at Carlisle over 2m1f and could also find improvement for this trip, while Tommy Pickles and Donald Jump are others to consider.

It's a case of whether to go with the proven form of Tommy Pickles or the potential of MOSSY FEN COOLIO.

1st (5) (11/2 -65%)French Emperor |
11/2(-65%) | (5) French Emperor 11/2, Never travelled, below form back down in trip when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Exeter latest; effective 2m on soft, good to soft; maiden form strong, progressive in handicaps though mark may now be high enough; needs the longer trip to bring out more improvement. Flopped badly when warm favourite this month; moves up in trip with a point to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/1 +22%)Lord Snootie |
7/1(+22%) | (2) Lord Snootie 7/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Windsor latest; off a short-break; effective 3m; well treated on old form but needs to prove ability remains after lay off. Well beaten on both starts since returning from a long layoff in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (11/2 -38%)Gwennie May Star |
11/2(-38%) | (6) Gwennie May Star 11/2, Scored by 3l off a 6lb lower mark at Warwick penultimate start; never travelled, well held up in grade when pulled up in a handicap hurdle latest; effective 2-3m; not fully exposed as a stayer. Two wins for Olly Murphy this season; ran poorly last month; now with new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (6/5 +40%)Karma Police |
6/5(+40%) | (7) Karma Police 6/5, Conceded first run, ran to form up in trip when second beaten 19l in a handicap hurdle at Newbury latest; effective 2m2f-2m5f, acts on soft and heavy; should do better yet now handicapping but mark demands it. Well held when second on handicap debut (2m4f) but can improve over this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (13/2 -44%)Gentleman Bill |
13/2(-44%) | (3) Gentleman Bill 13/2, Mistakes, race may have come a bit soon when well beaten in a handicap chase at Haydock latest; effective 2-2 1/2m; generally consistent in this discipline; must bounce back. Well beaten over fences last month but reverts to hurdling on a tempting mark; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (10/1 +17%)Benign Dictator |
10/1(+17%) | (1) Benign Dictator 10/1, Scored by 4 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Warwick three starts back; never threatened seventh beaten 36l off 124 last time, 2lb lower here; blinkers first time; effective 2 1/2-3 1/4m, acts on any; back in form after lay off until latest. Ended 2025 with career-best effort but looked laboured on first two outings this year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Benign Dictator failed to run to form when seventh at Newbury but if he reacts positively to first-time blinkers, he is more than capable of a bold effort. However, KARMA POLICE steps up in distance after a 19-length second at Newbury off his current mark and, as a point-to-point winner over 3m, he could take the necessary step forward. Gwennie May Star is an interesting alternative on his first start for Christian Williams.

He needs to bounce back from last month's heavy defeat over fences but GENTLEMAN BILL is attractively weighted over hurdles.

1st (1) (7/2 -56%)Joyeux Machin |
7/2(-56%) | (1) Joyeux Machin 7/2, Taken on up front and set it up for closers, outstayed when down the field in Swinley Handicap Chase at Ascot most recent; effective 2 1/2m, barely gets 3m; frustrating type but is well treated on old Irish form. Ex-Irish gelding who is 0-10 for this yard but he has the form to threaten all of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (11/4 -22%)Bo Cruz |
11/4(-22%) | (5) Bo Cruz 11/4, Did it cosily and improved again landing a handicap by 6 1/2l off a 10lb lower mark at Wetherby last time; effective around 2m4f-3m, acts on soft and good to soft; progressing as distance increases and should remain competitive. On a hat-trick but he's up in the weights and in grade, and may need soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/4 +70%)No Tackle |
6/4(+70%) | (4) No Tackle 6/4, Ran to form at favoured venue when second beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap chase at Leicester latest; effective 2m6f-3m2f, suited by plenty cut, acts on good; erratic until this year; threat. Bang in form, still on a fair mark and drying ground won't bother him at all. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (5/1 -11%)Val Dancer |
5/1(-11%) | (2) Val Dancer 5/1, Every chance, ran to form just tiring late, possibly outstayed when fourth beaten 12l in a handicap chase at Newcastle latest; enjoys making it; suited by 3m+, acts with cut; former Welsh National winner back in form, big player dropping in grade and trip. Could be dangerous off this mark, for all that he's made his name over further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (22/1 -193%)Castle Robin |
22/1(-193%) | (3) Castle Robin 22/1, Probably needed race, ran to form, well backed when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Warwick last time; effective 3m, acts on soft, good; inconsistent, well treated on old form, has run well fresh but needs to prove ability remains after lay off. Long absence to overcome and aged 11, but potentially very well handicapped. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Val Dancer is the only course winner here having scored over hurdles in 2022 and he is even better over fences, with five career wins including the 2024 Welsh National. He can go well off this mark but he might have to give way to the younger BO CRUZ, who is looking for his hat-trick after wins at Catterick and Wetherby. He is on an upward curve and should handle the rise in class. No Tackle is fancied to come out best of the rest.

Val Dancer hasn't been running at all badly over longer trips but drying ground swings the pendulum towards JOYEUX MACHIN.

Has only had seven races under rules and was a 3l winner last time at Ludlow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (7/2 +53%)Mooserwirt |
7/2(+53%) | (6) Mooserwirt 7/2, Yard won this last year; ran to form up in trip on handicap debut when fourth beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle at Newcastle latest; tongue-tie first time; effective 2 1/2m; improving at lowly level and longer trip could suit. Better for handicaps when beaten 10l over 2m4f last time and he was boxing on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (10/1 -18%)Thereyare |
10/1(-18%) | (9) Thereyare 10/1, Yard won this last year; outpaced, jumped poorly, looked in need of stiffer test when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter latest; hood first time; usually held up; off a short-break; much more needed but longer trip could suit on handicap debut. Headgear is added for this first handicap; trainers are respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (10/1 +50%)Rockvale |
10/1(+50%) | (10) Rockvale 10/1, Keen, never in a jumping rhythm, poor chase debut, did not handle track when down the field in a handicap chase at Ludlow most recent; hood first time; off a long absence; effective 2m; needs to prove ability remains following long lay off. Plenty of risks involved after his long absence with a hood now fitted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (10/1 -11%)Diamand De Vindecy |
10/1(-11%) | (4) Diamand De Vindecy 10/1, Refused in a handicap chase at Huntingdon latest; flew home over 2 1/2m previously placing off this mark; effective 2-2 1/2m; could have more to offer as a stayer back over hurdles. Refused over fences last time; a maiden over hurdles but has the form to feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (16/1 -45%)Greedy Smith |
16/1(-45%) | (3) Greedy Smith 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster latest where failed to stay 3m; off a short-break; should be effective at 2m, acts on soft and good; still early days, must bounce back. Hard to make a solid case but this well-related 6yo could yet turn a corner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (20/1 +0%)Jo Arengeot Bey Aa |
20/1(+0%) | (11) Jo Arengeot Bey Aa 20/1, Needed run when fourth beaten 33l in a handicap chase at Wetherby latest; effective 2m-2m4f with cut; should come on for return but plenty to prove. Modest chase efforts last twice; no worthwhile form in handicaps over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (28/1 -56%)Maggies Boy |
28/1(-56%) | (1) Maggies Boy 28/1, Never travelled, needed run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster latest; effective 2 1/2-3m, wants sound surface; must bounce back. Others appeal more, for all that getting back on drier ground will benefit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (50/1 -100%)Dublin City |
50/1(-100%) | (7) Dublin City 50/1, Outpaced, never threatened when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Hereford most recent; effective at 3m in points, acts on good; longer trip a plus but plenty to prove. May be seen in a better light on this switch to handicaps and he's unraced beyond 2m4f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having justified strong support in the market at Ludlow, there could be more to come from AN BUACHAILL RUA. A 6lb higher mark for the six-year-old looks workable, particularly with Harry Atkins' 7lb claim taken into account. Kastellion arrives on the back of his best run under Rules when finishing third on his handicap bow at Southwell and is feared most stepping up in distance. Mooserwirt and Junior Des Mottes are other likely players.

After taking a step forward on his handicap debut and with probably more to offer over this far, MOOSERWIRT (nap) gets the vote.

2/1(+43%) | (5) Static 2/1, Ran to form suited by positive ride up in trip at sharp track landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Haydock last time; effective 2m-2m3f, acts on soft, good; ex French, generally consistent. A willing partner when winning at Haydock; up 5lb but not exposed over this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (4/1 -20%)In The Age |
4/1(-20%) | (8) In The Age 4/1, Ran to form on handicap debut just flattening out late on ground softer than ideal beaten 3l off a 3lb lower mark at Uttoxeter last time; off a short-break; effective 2m4f-2m7f, acts on good to soft and good; more to come for top yard. Novice win has worked out well and he wasn't far away on his handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (5/1 +23%)Aurigny Mill |
5/1(+23%) | (2) Aurigny Mill 5/1, Built on recent revival at favoured venue benefitting from stiff test down in trip landing a handicap by 5l off a 3lb lower mark at Taunton last time; trainer in form; effective 2-2 1/2m, acts on any; back in form, wants good pace to aim at but should get it here so a big player. Won easily last time and has shown that he can cope with this 3lb higher mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (5/1 +29%)Norman Fletcher |
5/1(+29%) | (6) Norman Fletcher 5/1, Made too much use of when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Ascot latest; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on any; may need to come down a few lbs and stamina concerns. Well handicapped; back from a break and hasn't had many chances over this sort of trip. |

11/2(+8%) | (1) Knickerbockerglory 11/2, Made too much use of when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Windsor most recent; enjoys making it; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on any; consistent until latest, handicapper not relenting enough. Definite chance on his penultimate run; however, not the only front-runner in the field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/1 -57%)The Four Sixes |
11/1(-57%) | (3) The Four Sixes 11/1, Won this last year off 4lb lower; outpaced, unsuited by tactics when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Kempton most recent; enjoys making it; effective 2 1/2m; mark stiff, needs to dominate and could have competition up front. Won this last year before following up at Ayr and is well handicapped on all that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (16/1 +20%)Magistrato |
16/1(+20%) | (4) Magistrato 16/1, Made too much use of, well held up in grade when fourth beaten 16l in bet365 Handicap Chase at Wetherby latest; enjoys making it; effective 2-2 1/2m, needs to dominate on good ground and faces competition here; enjoyed productive autumn but shot up weights, needs this drop in grade. Useful front-running chaser and could be interesting off his lower hurdle mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Aurigny Mill bounced back to form when landing a competitive class 3 handicap hurdle at Taunton and a 3lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold bid. The nine-year-old isn't taken lightly, but it could be worth chancing KNICKERBOCKERGLORY. Although Dan Skelton's charge faded tamely at Windsor, a reproduction of his close-up second at Sandown in December would make him tough to beat. Static is another to consider.

Not one of the field can be dismissed with confidence but IN THE AGE has a progressive profile and a handy weight to boot.

(1) (2/1 +27%)Paddys Policy |
2/1(+27%) | (1) Paddys Policy 2/1, May have found ground on the soft side well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Musselburgh latest; effective 2m, acts on good to soft, good; inconsistent over hurdles but may have more to offer over fences. Placed in handicap hurdles and gets in off a lower mark for this debut over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (10/3 -33%)Disguisedlimit |
10/3(-33%) | (3) Disguisedlimit 10/3, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Southwell latest; cheekpieces first time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on soft, good; in form untl latest, possibly capable of better but slight enthusiasm concerns. He was too free last time at Southwell and now goes in cheekpieces. |

(2) (7/2 -17%)Epinephrine |
7/2(-17%) | (2) Epinephrine 7/2, Outpaced, ran to form but looked in need of stiffer test when fourth beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap chase at Warwick latest; effective 2m, acts on soft and good to soft; fair mark on hurdle form and may get bit further over fences. Has got closer in each of her three runs over fences, last time beaten 5.5l at Warwick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (4/1 +27%)Dj Pete |
4/1(+27%) | (5) Dj Pete 4/1, Scored by a head off a 4lb lower mark at Ffos Las penultimate start; race came too soon fifth beaten 57l off 97 last time, same mark here; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on soft, good; remains well treated on novice form. Won last month but his run 20 days ago was a reminder of his inconsistency. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (8/1 +0%)Jiair Madrik |
8/1(+0%) | (4) Jiair Madrik 8/1, Fell in a handicap chase here latest when beaten; placed off 2lb higher over 2m previously; effective 2m, acts on any; winner in France, can do better. Beaten when falling here last month but ran well for a good way. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DISGUISEDLIMIT is capable of better than he managed in a deeper race at Southwell and dropping in trip could be beneficial if he settles better. The application of cheekpieces can help him focus and he is worth another try. Epinephrine is potentially well treated in comparison to her hurdles rating and is feared most, although Dj Pete also commands respect back over a suitable distance.

A chance is taken on chasing debutant PADDYS POLICY, who was second in his only point and has been placed off higher hurdle marks.

9/2(+25%) | (1) Titanium Ring 9/2, Outpaced, ran to form when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Ludlow last time; trainer in form; effective at 2m on heavy and good to soft; improving with experience, likely bit more to come in handicaps. Could raise his game now handicapping, especially back on this sort of ground. |

11/2(+73%) | (3) Rock Hurley 11/2, Possibly needed run when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle most recent; effective 2 1/2m, suited by cut, acts on good; inconsistent. Poor this season but won easily here only four starts back last April. |

Couldn't make a compelling case on this handicap debut and others preferred. |

10/1(-43%) | (6) Fanny Moon 10/1, Keen, improved on final qualifying run but given too much to do when fourth beaten 16l in a novice hurdle at Ludlow latest; looks to want further than 2m; type to do better handicapping stepped up in trip. Encouraging fourth at Ludlow latest and handicaps were always going to be more like it. |

(5) (14/1 -87%)Golden Identity |
14/1(-87%) | (5) Golden Identity 14/1, Mistakes, not find much when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time; in good form prior; off a short-break; effective 2 1/2m, acts on soft, good; running into form until latest. Modest run last time but wasn't far away in his two previous runs. |

(2) (16/1 -33%)Supreme Yeats |
16/1(-33%) | (2) Supreme Yeats 16/1, Outpaced, needed further when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Warwick most recent; suited by sound surface and 3m; handicapper relenting, can bounce back when returned to staying trips but a threat if getting a stiff test here. Back up in trip and off a reduced mark, there's some cause for optimism. |

28/1(-155%) | (4) Love Me 28/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Exeter latest where lame; second run after wind op; off a short-break; effective 2m; can do better judged on Irish hurdle form. Won in Ireland; two fair runs over hurdles for this yard before pulling up over fences. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Going back left-handed should suit ERIC CARMEN, whose hat-trick bid wasn't helped by the track direction over fences at Leicester. Gary Hanmer's 10-year-old was still a clear second, despite jumping left throughout, and he could take some stopping back over hurdles. Golden Identity and Ayyadieh are open to improvement and warrant betting checks, as does Joeybottles on his first run after wind surgery.

Henry Daly's TITANIUM RING is a likely improver on his handicap debut, as are Fanny Moon (second choice) and Joeybottles.
Ths is the racecard key.
