|F| (4) (8/1 -14%)Hidalgo De L'isle |
8/1(-14%) | (4) Hidalgo De L'isle 8/1, Yard has won 2 of last 5 runnings of race; below par comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Kempton last time; goes well here; good mark on chase form; others arrive in better form Out of form at end of last season and needs a significant boost from the new cheekpieces. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Donald McCain has won this twice in recent years, with Hidalgo De L'isle successful in 2023 and back for more off the same mark, and in first-time cheekpieces. He can go well, but preference is for top-weight STREAM OF STARS. Second at Ffos Las last month and the winner of four races over hurdles, he looks the one to beat for the Twiston-Davies team. Fromheretoeternity is another to consider, with the better ground a bonus.

This can go to GOT GREY (nap), who ran well in two competitive handicaps last month and ought to benefit from this drop back in trip.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/2 +15%)Kenmya |

66/1(-100%) | (8) After Midnight 66/1, Probably needed race well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m5f at Market Rasen latest; generally out of form; not proven trip; needs to improve Showed no significant promise when a big-priced outsider in maiden/novice hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (33/1 -136%)Blended Stealth |
33/1(-136%) | (7) Blended Stealth 33/1, Below par comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Ayr last time; generally out of form; returning from a break; better ground a plus but unreliable Out of form when last seen in winter and career strike-rate stands at 0-34. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (22/1 +12%)Jailbird |
22/1(+12%) | (9) Jailbird 22/1, Appeared not to stay down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Huntingdon most recent; not proven trip; significant jockey booking; bit to find Kept on for third on handicap hurdle debut but well beaten twice since (Flat/hurdle). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Kenmya may prove popular with the Skelton team in such good form, but she is yet to win over hurdles and this looks a big ask. SOLDIER IN MAYO appears the McCain number one with Brian Hughes booked to ride, and the point-to-point winner may have more to offer after only three starts over timber. Gone In Sixty finished second twice last year and is another to consider on his return from a well-earned break.

Still to be asked for his effort when coming to grief over C&D last month, EAGLES GOLD might open his account today.

7/4(-162%) | (1) Etalon 7/4, Bit in hand landing a handicap by 19l off 132 over 2m at Perth last time impressing with jumping; thrown in up 7lb; could follow up Ended last season with an easy win but has become unreliable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Fringill Dike won this race last season, but he is 5lb higher and was beaten a long way at Plumpton when last of 10 on his latest start. ETALON is up in class after winning very easily by 19 lengths at Perth and although he has an extra 7lb, he may shrug it off for his in-form stable. Third Time Lucki is one to take seriously off this mark if he can recapture the form of his best efforts.

He needs to rebound from last month's heavy defeat but FRINGILL DIKE is selected to win this race for the second year running.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (80/1 +20%)Garswood Gold |
80/1(+20%) | (2) Garswood Gold 80/1, Well beaten in a bumper over 2m at Leopardstown only start where too green to show anything; absent for very lengthy period; all to do Struggled in slow-ground Irish bumper on debut in December 2023; not seen again since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

OLD BRIDGE showed promise in three starts for Gordon Elliott in Ireland and appears to be getting better with experience. Connections have played a shrewd move in keeping him to maiden company on his debut run for David Pipe. Blackwater Lilly has also shown ability in her previous runs over hurdles and is feared most with first-time cheekpieces tried. Jockey bookings would suggest that City Of Diamonds is the pick of the Donald McCain pair.

David Pipe's new recruit OLD BRIDGE was placed twice in Ireland last month and appears to have been found a good opportunity.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (8/1 +0%)Carrigmoorna Rowan |
8/1(+0%) | (1) Carrigmoorna Rowan 8/1, Below par comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Warwick last time; cheekpieces first time; not proven trip; fair mark on hurdle form but yet to take to chasing Safely held in first two chases; eased in grade with cheekpieces tried here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Bumpy Evans has triumphed in two of his three starts over fences since he reverted to racing under Rules and is respect in his hat-trick bid. However, this is deeper and it would be no surprise to see ANOTHER LORD kick on after readily breaking his chasing duck at Ffos Las. Raised 9lb for last month's facile victory, Mickey Bowen's gelding has the scope to progress a lot further in this discipline. The Dark Edge and Yes And Yes are others with chances.

Perhaps the answer will be chasing debutant THE DARK EDGE, who ended last season in very good form over hurdles.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (15/2 -67%)Flash In The Park |
15/2(-67%) | (4) Flash In The Park 15/2, Below par 5 1/4l third in a handicap chase over 2m at Warwick most recent run but worth marking that up considerably; latest form franked; 4lb below last winning mark; major player Back in form when third in first-time blinkers last month, under very positive ride. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

FLASH IN THE PARK made the frame in this class at Warwick last month and the assessor may have been kind to drop him 1lb. The seven-year-old competes off a career-low rating and could take full advantage. Famoso hasn't finished out of the top three in any of his last three outings and drops in grade so has to be taken seriously. Intrepide Sud is the pick of the remainder.

Last month's hurdle run was slightly disappointing but NEIGH BOTHA ran a big race in defeat over C&D two starts ago and gets the vote.

|PU| (3) (13/2 +7%)Izzy's Grey |
13/2(+7%) | (3) Izzy's Grey 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter latest where failed to handle track; in good form here prior; tongue-tie first time; minor chance Placed twice over C&D at end of last season but returns here after a lacklustre effort. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

AAZZA successfully completed a double when going in by two lengths in this grade at Southwell last month. Paul Robson's nine-year-old only has a 5lb higher rating to contend with and looks the one to beat. Heather Honey justified favouritism in comfortable fashion at Newcastle on her most recent start and holds an obvious chance, while Strolling Along is another to keep an eye on.

After winning quite stylishly over this trip at Newcastle six weeks ago, HEATHER HONEY is selected to overcome a 6lb rise.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
