Some promise in 5 runs in fillies' novice events in 2025; market to guide now handicapping. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A drop in class did the trick for Wolverhampton scorer Luna Beaux and she merits respect in her follow-up bid. However, Adrian Wintle's filly has yet to prove as effective on turf and it could be worth chancing the returning DRAGON SPIN. The daughter of Ardad ended her juvenile campaign with a runner-up effort at Nottingham and a 1lb ease in the ratings may prove lenient. Runamara and Beach Partee are others of interest.

Solar Invincible and Luna Beaux are respected but there could be a fair bit more to come from BELIEVEINMENOW as a 3yo.

40/1(-21%) | (8) Magical Life 40/1, Filly by high-class miler Territories; half-sister to Life Is Rosie, very useful at 1m2f; pedigree suggests 5f will be on sharp side. Half-sister to a minor 1m2f winner; others have more persuasive paper claims. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Richard Hannon has made a good start to the turf season and the well-related PAPER VIEW could add to his tally. The son of Lucky Vega is a half-brother to Group 3 winner Balty Boys and he will take all the beating if possessing similar ability. Jack Channon is another whose yard is in fine fettle and market support for Innichen would be interesting, with Wait Geordie the pick of the remainder.

Paper View represents the Hannon team that took the Brocklesby but WAIT GEORGE has a sharper pedigree and he is preferred.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Having ended her four-year-old campaign with a close-up second in the Rous Stakes at Ascot, Beautiful Diamond must enter calculations on her return to action. However, MISS ATTITUDE is of similar ability and the match practice gained from a recent seventh in handicap company at Southwell could give her the edge. Hold A Dream and Shine On Me are also worth a second look on their seasonal reappearances.

With a promising reappearance behind her, MISS ATTITUDE (nap) looks to have strong claims of recording her second Listed success.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DANDY DINMONT won when fresh from a similar break last summer and looks a key player back on turf from a competitive mark. Hidden Verse, Call Time and Symbol of Hope are all previous course winners who warrant betting checks, while Twilight Madness has won from much higher figures in the past and is dangerous to underestimate on these terms.

The Feminine Urge is interesting but returning to turf and Class 6 company are both positives for DANDY DINMONT.

125/1(-213%) | (1) Master Jorrocks 125/1, Cityscape gelding; half-brother to Therehegoes, fair from 5f to 6f as 2yo; dam moderate at 5f; well beaten only start in a point. Flat bred; 7-1, tailed off in a 2m point-to-point bumper five week ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

COLOURBAND got closest to exciting prospect King's Trail at Kempton and the winner has franked the form since. The son of Iffraaj sets the standard and this could be a nice confidence booster before he goes handicapping. Baltic Fleet won a maiden at Yarmouth in a game manner when last seen and also merits close inspection. Cape Fear is another with bags of scope to consider.

This appears to rest between just the Yarmouth 1m1f winner BALTIC FLEET and form pick Colourband.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (28/1 +0%)Risen Again |
28/1(+0%) | (8) Risen Again 28/1, May have needed the run but likely didn't stay 13f down the field in a handicap at Lingfield most recent; effective 9/10f, acts on good and AW, likes fast ground; bounce back needed. Last when upped to 1m5f for new yard in February; also bit to prove over a trip this short. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LOOK BACK SMILING won the Spring Mile a couple of years ago - one of many stiff tests he has faced - and he could represent some value if he has been freshened up by a switch in stables. As a previous course winner who has been in good form on the all-weather, The Dark Baron is a logical danger, while Little Miss India and Law Supreme are other live contenders.

Darvel has a fine reappearance record here but TRIBAL RHYTHM is back to last April's winning mark. Law Supreme is second choice.

13th (14) (40/1 -21%)Cherry Hill |
40/1(-21%) | (14) Cherry Hill 40/1, Poor effort beaten 8l in a handicap at Kempton last time; effective 7/8f, acts on sound surface; poor form last year and no sign of that changing on reappearance. Fared no better on her comeback in January; has since undergone wind surgery. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Volendam has been running well on the all-weather, but she remains a 17-race maiden and is passed over in favour of CIOTOG. Mark Loughnane's veteran has also been kept busy this winter, but he has a fine record over C&D and will relish the return to turf. Baynoona became something of a Bath regular last year and is interesting on her reappearance, and Villalobos knows his way around this track too.

This is just the second time CIOTOG has run in 0-55 company. He's preferred to Havana Club, who's down to a career-low mark.

33/1(-32%) | (7) Red Admiral 33/1, Played up in stalls and comfortably held in a handicap at Brighton in August; hood first time; suited by 7f and a sound surface; maiden form hard to evaluate. Risks involved in a first-time hood after eight months off but likely has the ability. |

Very consistent and should get the good pace he wants; every chance he gets involved again. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (13/2 +24%)Judge Frank |
13/2(+24%) | (6) Judge Frank 13/2, Didn't stay 10f beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; effective 7/8f, suited by a sound surface; could bounce back down in trip. Twice ran well off higher marks over C&D last summer; bold showing wouldn't shock. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (40/1 -100%)James Park Woods |
40/1(-100%) | (8) James Park Woods 40/1, Possibly feeling recent hard race on heavy when well beaten in a handicap here in October; suited by 8-10f, acts on good to soft and AW, likes plenty of give; may need race and softer ground. 14th (13) (33/1 0%)Mishy's Star |
33/1(0%) | (13) Mishy's Star 33/1, Didn't stay extended mile down the field in a classified race at Wolverhampton most recent start; in fair form prior; wide draw; effective 6/7f, acts on AW; stamina a worry. Exposed as ordinary on the AW; needs to improve a good deal for the switch to turf. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

PORT NOIR passed the century mark for appearances back in November and has shown no signs of slowing down. She failed in her hat-trick mission at Wolverhampton, but bounced straight back at Kempton and won't go down without a fight. Oasis Sunrise didn't take to hurdling, but was largely consistent throughout her last Flat campaign so must be respected. Pessoa is more effective on an artificial surface, but still has to enter the equation.

Plenty with claims, headed by SHARMA D'AMOUR, who represents an in-form yard and shaped well on her comeback in a race not run to suit.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
