1st (1) (4/9 +28%)Rajak |
4/9(+28%) | (1) Rajak 4/9, £22,000 Kameko gelding; brother to Del Ray, who won over 7f as 2yo; looked to appreciate step down in trip when landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off 56 at Yarmouth last time; the pick on balance of form Visor helped when winning on last week's nursery debut; has been found another weak race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (13/8 +13%)Brightling |
13/8(+13%) | (2) Brightling 13/8, Aclaim filly; half-sister to a few winners; well backed and opened account fourth start when landing a handicap by 3/4l off 49 over 6f at Lingfield last time; may find only rival too good here Off the mark on last week's nursery debut (6f, good to soft); may improve further. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The switch to handicap company and a first-time visor proved just the trick for recent Yarmouth winner RAJAK. Michael Bell's charge scored with something in hand and he looks more than capable of defying a 6lb penalty in this duel. Having also made all on her handicap bow at Lingfield, Brightling warrants respect in her follow-up bid, but she may need to improve in order to follow up.

Not much to choose between the two runners and BRIGHTLING may prove the more straightforward of them.

125/1(-56%) | (8) Dawn Melody 125/1, Sergei Prokofiev filly; dam, Navajo Dawn, won over 5f on the AW; last of nine runners on both starts to date, and didn't look to improve at all when beaten 12l at Lingfield latest; all to do Failed to beat a rival home in two starts over 5f and she's readily passed over.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (12/1 +0%)Faraway Tree |
12/1(+0%) | (2) Faraway Tree 12/1, 8 Mar; Wooded gelding; dam, Al Nayeba, very nicely related; Sir Mark Prestcott yard has been going well recently; represents top connections; perhaps the most attractive of the newcomers Gelding by Wooded; dam's side suggest he may be one for longer trips; watch the market. |

7th (6) (50/1 +38%)Will He Shine |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (9/1 +73%)Well Read |
9/1(+73%) | (5) Well Read 9/1, 14 Mar; 4,000gns Dream Ahead gelding; half-brother to Fletchers Dream, useful at 7f; dam, Poet's Princess, smart at 6f at 2yo; Jonathan Portman's yard in good form; Rob Hornby in-form 4,000gns yearling; half-brother to Fletchers Dream; dam 6f 2yo winner (91). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The drop into class 5 company saw an improved display from Dark Alley when filling the runner-up berth at Windsor 30 days ago. The Warren Greatrex-trained gelding is heading in the right direction and isn't taken lightly, but U S S CHARLESTON is slightly more compelling. The son of U S Navy Flag finished a close-up second at Leicester last month and that form looks a shade stronger. Market support for newcomer Tafah would be interesting.

Dark Alley is second choice behind U S S CHARLESTON. He shaped well on debut and built on that when beaten a neck at Leicester.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (11/1 +21%)Neptune Legend |
11/1(+21%) | (11) Neptune Legend 11/1, Wide trip beaten 6l in a classified race over 7f at Brighton last time; generally out of form, with little to show on turf last three starts; top course trainer; second run after wind op; bit to find Should be sharper for last month's return from a wind op; better expected this time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (12) (10/1 -11%)Midnight Call |
10/1(-11%) | (12) Midnight Call 10/1, Going probably on fast side last two outings, including when 2l third in a classified race over 5f at Chepstow most recent run; firm conditions may be a concern again here; top course trainer Placed on her last two starts and still has low mileage; this looks competitive though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (9/1 -50%)Nordic Glory |
9/1(-50%) | (7) Nordic Glory 9/1, In fair form when last seen in March, winning twice over 6f at Wolverhampton, including finding plenty to score by almost 3l last time; returning from a break; should be in the mix once again In fine form on AW when last seen; 4th in a division of this race last year; e-w shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (13/2 +59%)Some Nightmare |

6th (2) (5/1 +44%)Sisters In The Sky |
5/1(+44%) | (2) Sisters In The Sky 5/1, Slowly away when scored by a neck off 52 over C&D penultimate start; never travelled and faded up a little in class 14th beaten 20l off 54 last time; wide draw; outside chance C&D win last month; had an excuse at Newbury last week; one to take seriously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (14) (18/1 -13%)Cammy |
18/1(-13%) | (14) Cammy 18/1, Winless in 24 starts; second last of eight runners, but only beaten 3l in a classified race at Brighton last time; often not too far away, but never seems to do enough; top course trainer Has C&D form but he's a thoroughly exposed maiden who makes limited appeal for the win. |

25/1(+24%) | (10) Radiant Angel 25/1, Below par down the field in a handicap at Chepstow most recent; generally out of form since narrow win a Wolverhampton in February; wide draw; off a short-break; more needed Poor strike-rate and gone off the boil of late; down in grade but others more persuasive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (15) (50/1 -52%)Lady Dorchester |
50/1(-52%) | (15) Lady Dorchester 50/1, Yet to open account in 15 starts; around midfield when beaten 5l in a classified race over 5f at Chepstow last time; not a lot to note this season; would need to find a lot to get off the mark Exposed maiden; modest form this year and others bring much more obvious claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (18/1 +10%)Kento |
18/1(+10%) | (8) Kento 18/1, Well beaten in a handicap over 5f here latest; generally out of form since narrow win when perhaps well handicapped at Wolverhampton in March; top course trainer; plenty more needed 5f AW win in March; struggled since returned to turf in May; stable runs four here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (4/1 +38%)Call Glory |
4/1(+38%) | (1) Call Glory 4/1, On a very lengthy losing streak that dates back to September 2023; below par down the field in a handicap at Windsor most recent; generally out of form; down another 3lb; jockey in-form Regressive but eased in grade and the yard is going nicely; risky but not impossible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (18/1 +45%)Alfa Moonstone |
18/1(+45%) | (5) Alfa Moonstone 18/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark when last and beaten 5l in a handicap over 5f at Southwell last time; generally out of form; returning from a break; last win came over two years ago; needs to improve Yet to fire in three runs for new yard; best watched back from four months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (18/1 -300%)Rogue Endeavour |
18/1(-300%) | (13) Rogue Endeavour 18/1, Only just denied first win when close third over 5.5f at this course penultimate start; looked to want a little further beaten 3 1/2l off 51 over 5f at Ffos Las last time; Rob Hornby in form; contender Below par last week but he'd been threatening beforehand, including over C&D; yard runs 3. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Although he finished last at Newbury recently, triple Bath winner SISTERS IN THE SKY makes grand appeal reverting to this venue. The six-year-old landed the spoils over C&D on his penultimate outing and he could be worth chancing to bounce back. Big Time Rascal was behind in third that day and is a feasible alternative racing off 4lb better terms with the selection, closely followed by Moe's Legacy.

This is a minefield but Moe's Legacy and NOT JUST YET are well treated and could be the two to focus on.

11/10(-79%) | (2) Iwantmytimewithyou 11/10, Going away steadily pushed out and something in hand landing a handicap by 6l off 58 over 12f for first win on fifth start at Ripon last time; looked suited by 12f on a sound surface; progressive going up the distances Won by 6l at Ripon (1m4f) ; steps up another 2f; looks the one to beat under his penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (17/2 +23%)Sneaky Blinder |
17/2(+23%) | (3) Sneaky Blinder 17/2, Scored a Kempton double at the start of the year; looked better than previous few runs when beaten 1 1/4l off 52 over 2m at Chepstow last time; better form on AW; in the mix 3-27; third over 2m at Chepstow two weeks ago; can give his running but looks vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (6/1 +33%)Cherry Cola |
6/1(+33%) | (1) Cherry Cola 6/1, Most recent win came over C&D in September 2023: best effort in a while when travelled well beaten 3l for second off 55 over 2m at Lingfield last time; same mark value selection based on balance of form Without a win since September 2023; fourth in this in 2023 and third last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|DQ| (4) (7/4 +30%)Captain Brett |
7/4(+30%) | (4) Captain Brett 7/4, Won going away landing a handicap by 2 1/2l off 54 at Yarmouth last time; trainer in form; usually held up; very much staying type and can rate more highly given a stiffer test of stamina Improved since stepping up to this trip; up 6lb for his Yarmouth win; commands respect. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

IWANTMYTIMEWITHYOU improves the further he goes, and forged clear at Ripon last week on his first start over 1m4f. This extra test of stamina looks sure to suit the son of Time Test and he can defy a 6lb penalty. Captain Brett opened his account in fine style over today's trip at Yarmouth, and he makes more appeal than both Cherry Cola and Sneaky Blinder with the prospect of more to come.

The 3yos look the ones to focus on and IWANTMYTIMEWITHYOU (nap) is taken to defy a penalty. Captain Brett is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SPUDDLING was upped to a similar trip than this at Windsor last month and returned the comfortable winner of a classified contest. He looks potentially well treated back in handicap company with more to come over middle-distances, and Bill Turner's charge looks worth sticking with. Zafaan scored over 1m2f at Yarmouth recently and stays this far. He could pose a bigger threat than the Ffos Las winner Buck Barrow and Leicester runner-up Offiah's Boy.

Spuddling posted an improved effort last time but BUCK BARROW is taken to follow up his Ffos Las win over this longer trip.

17/2(+39%) | (8) Scarfo 17/2, Only career win in 21 starts came at Wolverhampton over 7f 12 months ago; raced far too freely beaten 3l off 45 over 7f at Chepstow last time; hard to recommend all things considered Sole win came at Wolverhampton last July; beaten around 3l last time; back up to 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (5/1 +0%)Rebel Cove |
5/1(+0%) | (7) Rebel Cove 5/1, 0-7, but consistent few efforts at this course on last three starts; including only beaten 1/2l third in a classified race here most recent run; can't be ruled out entirely based on that Running well here since the cheekpieces went on; close third behind Fact Or Fable latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

FACT OR FABLE is approaching the veteran stage, but is still good enough to win at this level. It was firm ground when Stan Moore's charge landed a classified event here last month, and this contest doesn't look much stronger. Rebel Cove wasn't far behind the selection in third and could shape well again, while Oasis Sunrise found only one too good when last seen over C&D and she could make the frame.

The lightly raced REBEL COVE has been running well since the cheekpieces went on and she can get the better of Oasis Sunrise.
Ths is the racecard key.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
