The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Greenness didn't stop Blue To Blue from making a winning debut at Southwell last month and he looks the type to handle the sterner test of stamina presented by this stiffer course. However, SOCIETY OF HONOR also showed stacks of promise on his introduction at Ayr 15 days ago, where he finished the race off very strongly to go down by less than a length in third. A sharper start could see him get off the mark here. Artista and Ameeq are other notable options.

With improvement on the cards, SOCIETY OF HONOR is taken to give Richard Fahey another success in this race. Poatan is second pick.

11/4(+63%) | (1) Bust A Moon 11/4, Was keen last time; not been in the best form and has regressed a bit since stable debut; needs to find a bit One of the better options on 2025 evidence, having been placed twice this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

5/4(+38%) | (5) Larchill Lass 5/4, Not at best on two starts this season; generally out of form; cheekpieces first time; may need slower ground, but isn't without a chance Won last May; ran respectably in C&D handicap last time; leading form contender. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (22/1 -57%)Rosezan |
22/1(-57%) | (7) Rosezan 22/1, Below par last time; would still need to improve on best form to figure May last longer in this seller dropped to 5f but brings a modest rating. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (40/1 +39%)Diamond Dude |
40/1(+39%) | (4) Diamond Dude 40/1, Beaten a long way in all four starts; looks a very unlikely winner Has the worst chance on ratings; drops in distance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (18/1 -29%)Nobody's Business |
18/1(-29%) | (6) Nobody's Business 18/1, Needs a lot more than he has shown in three starts to date; safe enough to look elsewhere Would be getting weight from most of these rivals if this were a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (8/1 -129%)Butterfly Jasmine |
8/1(-129%) | (2) Butterfly Jasmine 8/1, Promising debut; may not have stayed when down the field in Two Year Old Trophy (Listed) over 6f at Redcar most recent; down in trip and class; threat Stiff task when last seen; won on debut and has possibilities at this level. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

LARCHILL LASS showed up well in a handicap here recently and merits plenty of respect in first-time cheekpieces. Butterfly Jasmine faced a stiff test in the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy when last seen but can figure more prominently resuming in these much calmer waters. Bust A Moon is worth another try over the minimum distance and is the pick of the remainder.

The Verdict comprises the only previous winners in the field, namely LARCHILL LASS and Butterfly Jasmine.

15/2(-88%) | (1) Keldeo 15/2, Scored by a nose off 70 at Pontefract penultimate start; can be forgiven poor run before that (not a clear run); another good effort up 2lbs last time; chance Won at Pontefract last month; close fourth over C&D last week; likely player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (4/1 +0%)Fierce |
4/1(+0%) | (3) Fierce 4/1, Yard has won 2 of last 5 runnings of race; denied a clear run when a neck second on return (stable debut too); can upgrade last run a little (came from off the pace); has a chance despite ground possibly a bit fast Two encouraging efforts for new stable, making the frame over C&D latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (4/1 +20%)Opal Storm |
4/1(+20%) | (9) Opal Storm 4/1, Usually held up and didn't get a clear run behind Keldeo on penultimate start; ran well last time; up 1lb; chance if getting good run Close second at Doncaster last time; consistent over C&D last term; solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (3/1 +65%)Maris Angel |
3/1(+65%) | (6) Maris Angel 3/1, Down 3lbs since below par effort last time; gives her a small chance but needs to show a little more than in last two starts; off since January Two attempts on turf have resulted in a success and close second; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (5/1 +58%)Miss Brazen |
5/1(+58%) | (5) Miss Brazen 5/1, In reasonably good form last year; last start vet said she bled from nose; not seen since October; down 1lb and in with a shout On a two-year losing spell but is well handicapped and suited by Beverley. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (33/1 -200%)Ganesha |
33/1(-200%) | (4) Ganesha 33/1, Hit the ground running this season when following up a third on return with a win off 67 (AW); last two runs not so good; down 1lb, but hard to be fully confident Regained the winning thread in March; below form in two runs since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (80/1 -789%)Crafty Spirit |
80/1(-789%) | (8) Crafty Spirit 80/1, In reasonably good form last year, but not seen since October; stable debut; may need this Drops to new trip on debut for new stable; market may prove best guide. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Keldeo had Opal Storm back in fifth when she won at Pontefract last month but there is little to choose between them on the revised terms. Each commands respect, especially as both are previous course and distance winners. However, FIERCE has made a bright start for the Paul Midgley stable and he could be the safer call. Crafty Spirit is another to bear in mind.

Being nicely weighted and still unexposed on turf, MARIS ANGEL (nap) looks particularly interesting. Miss Brazen is second choice.

12/1(-20%) | (10) Coolree 12/1, Won this last year; not at best in three starts this year; would need to improve to factor 4lb lower than when winning this race last year and ran well last time; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (13) (33/1 0%)Dandy's Angel |

5/1(+55%) | (5) Park Street 5/1, Gets on with Beverley (C&D winner); does need to show more than last time; down 2lbs and isn't totally written off Won twice here in 2023; no surprise if he fares better back at this track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (33/1 -65%)Makalu |
33/1(-65%) | (12) Makalu 33/1, C&D winner; kicked of the year with a win in March; two below par efforts since and needs to bounce back C&D winner; made a winning return on the AW in March, but well beaten back on turf since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (14/1 -65%)Northbound |
14/1(-65%) | (8) Northbound 14/1, Scored well by 5l off 54 over 8.5f at Wolverhampton penultimate start; backed that up last time off 8lbs higher when a short head second; up another 2lbs; stable debut and can be competitive 1-21 on turf, but only just beaten at Wetherby last time; each-way claims on stable debut. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (12/1 -33%)Tees George |
12/1(-33%) | (9) Tees George 12/1, C&D winner in September; went up 8lbs for that; can do better than reappearance down 1lb, but others are more persuasive Went up in the weights for his easy C&D win last September; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (20/1 -43%)Evelyn's Phoenix |
20/1(-43%) | (4) Evelyn's Phoenix 20/1, Has struggled last two runs since going up 5lbs for winning off 62 three starts ago; has come down to 65; work to do Has fitness to prove after eight months off; Alfie Boy looks the stable's main hope. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Alfie Boy bids for a hat-trick having made all here before scoring again at Ayr. He should give another good account if allowed his own way in front, while Cosmos Raj is another to consider fresh off the back of a victory at Hamilton. That said, COOLREE won this contest last year off a 4lb higher mark and a chance is taken he can repeat the dose reunited with winning partner Luke Morris.

It may be worth taking a chance with CASILLI. The prospect of a disputed lead should help and she has dropped to a dangerous mark.

13/2(+46%) | (3) Cangofar 13/2, Some promise in three novices last year; down the field on handicap debut on return; can do better than that Four-race maiden who is bred to do better still. |

50/1(-127%) | (7) Grizzieblanca 50/1, 28l 8/9 last time in handicap over C&D (Kimeko Glory won); will need to shake that off and show much better to contend today Weak claims on form; suffered a heavy defeat behind Kimeko Glory here most recently. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (6/4 -36%)Zappata |
6/4(-36%) | (1) Zappata 6/4, On a roll having won his last four, including last one under 18lb penalty; 12lb penalty today, but he is very hard to rule out and is one for the shortlist Won at Ripon on Friday, completing a quickfire 1m four-timer; thriving. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (33/1 +0%)West Kirby |
33/1(+0%) | (6) West Kirby 33/1, Generally out of form; cheekpieces first time; needs better Combination of new trip and cheekpieces needs to have major effect. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Zappata continues to improve, but is upped in distance and carries a double penalty after landing a four-timer with last week's victory at Ripon. U S GRANT lurks at the bottom of the handicap having posted a much-improved effort when third over a longer trip at Newcastle. Kevin Ryan's charge should be spot on now and the son of Camelot has plenty of scope for further improvement. Cuda Been A Rowlex could prove best of the rest.

Thriving Zappata could well complete a five-timer, provided he stays the new trip. KIMEKO GLORY is a solid alternative.

2nd (9) (50/1 -150%)Max The Tiger |
50/1(-150%) | (9) Max The Tiger 50/1, Last on both handicap starts; keen last time; at least is down 6lbs but needs that to make a fair bit of difference Still hasn't managed to beat a rival and has the worst chance on bare form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (9/1 -100%)Call Me Audrey |
9/1(-100%) | (8) Call Me Audrey 9/1, Has gone up in trip and improved in three handicap starts; neck second last time over 12f; contender again today Improved effort, neck second, at Wolverhampton last time; may remain competitive. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CALL ME AUDREY took a big step forward when upped to this distance at Wolverhampton recently. Caught in the final strides on that occasion, the daughter of Gustav Klimt has the scope to rate much higher over 1m4f and is taken to open her account. Maundy Thursday is another open to further improvement after a better effort at Windsor, while Gungnir is worthy of a second glance tackling middle-distances for the first time on his return to the fray.

The Verdict comprises the interesting handicap newcomers ANALOGICAL and Rommie The Miracle.
Ths is the racecard key.
