6th (6) (14/1 +0%)Mary Of Modena |
14/1(+0%) | (6) Mary Of Modena 14/1, Beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Bath last time off a 59 back in October; has run well here and down 4lb, but off a break and probably won't want ground fast On reduced mark but she needs major revival on her return after wind surgery. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

POP DANCER made all to score at Goodwood recently and Tony Caroll's charge is drawn to attack once again breaking from stall one. A 3lb rise should be no barrier to further success and the dual C&D winner is taken to repel the likes of Sioux Warrior, who finished a good second at Nottingham last time, and the Anthony Carson-trained Coolagh Magic.

Preference is for POP DANCER, who recorded his tenth win when making all at Goodwood 18 days ago. Sioux Warrior is feared most.

5th (1) (9/2 +0%)Duca Di Lucca |
9/2(+0%) | (1) Duca Di Lucca 9/2, Won a Southwell novice only start as a 2yo, but tongue-tied and raced freely beaten 8l on reappearance at same track last time; may bounce back with that run under his belt Won at Southwell (11-1) on debut but was well held there on his reappearance last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A winner on his racecourse bow at Wolverhampton in October before running extremely well to finish second under a penalty at Southwell the following month, IMMEDIATE EFFECT is expected to make a successful reappearance. Duca Di Lucca holds an official rating of 72 and is perhaps the main threat, while Alfie D ought to have learnt plenty from his first start and is most appealing of the remainder.

The vote goes to IMMEDIATE EFFECT who had a win and close second on AW in the autumn and is open to more progress at this new trip.

3/1(+0%) | (3) Mr Ubiquitous 3/1, Didn't really seem to handle this course only start back in July, but in good form and landed a handicap by a nose off 57 over 8f at Windsor last time; drop in trip an unknown; obvious chance, but questions to answer as well Just lasted home to win by a nose at Windsor 23 days ago; should progress.. |

2nd (2) (10/1 -54%)Callout |
10/1(-54%) | (2) Callout 10/1, Well handicapped based on good AW run penultimate start, but looked held when hampered on turf last time and may not be able to reproduce that form on grass; squeak Well held on stable debut when fifth of seven at Windsor 16 days ago.. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MUY MUY LOCO was positioned further back than ideal when beaten a neck into second at Kempton last time but if able to adopt a more prominent position back on the grass, he could go one place better. Mr Ubiquitous just held on over 1m at Windsor recently so dropping to 7f could be of benefit. Latona is also noted.

A three-month break seems to have revitalised MR UBIQUITOUS and he can follow up his win last month. Muy Muy Loco is next best.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (5) (16/1 -100%)River Wharfe |
16/1(-100%) | (5) River Wharfe 16/1, Consistent if running a few pounds shy of official mark of late, last time beaten 4l off 54 over 7f at Wolverhampton; top course trainer; up in trip, which is not ideal though it is a speed track All three turf wins have been here over 7f; course form brings him into play.. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (5/1 -186%)Comedian Leader |
5/1(-186%) | (2) Comedian Leader 5/1, Travelled well when scored by a neck off 49 here penultimate start and back that up second beaten 3l off 52 last time; track expertise a big plus and should go close Successful over C&D last month off 5lb lower mark and second since back here.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (7/4 +56%)Devasboy |
7/4(+56%) | (3) Devasboy 7/4, Ran to form beaten 1 1/2l off 54 over 7f at Chepstow last time; up in trip (has good form at a mile); clear chance and won here way back in 2021 Respectable third at Wolverhampton in March and at Chepstow eight days ago.. |

11/1(+21%) | (4) Shot Of Love 11/1, Beaten 2l off 54 over 7f at Chelmsford last time off a falling mark and form is definitely going the wrong way; last of 12 only previous start here, but does like Epsom, which is similar; squeak On a losing run going back to February 2024; on a career-low mark but hard to recommend.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (8/1 +27%)Roundabout Silver |
8/1(+27%) | (7) Roundabout Silver 8/1, In poor form since spring 2024 and despite falling down the weights was beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap over 7f at Kempton last time; can figure, but can't be confident Without a win since August 2023 but in the frame on his last three starts on AW.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (50/1 -25%)Edergole's Gift |
50/1(-25%) | (8) Edergole's Gift 50/1, In poor form of late and appeared not to stay comfortably held in a handicap over 10f here last time, but well beaten over 6f also here previous start; hood first time; plenty more needed Poor form from 5f-1m2f this year; others preferred.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Comedian Leader found herself flat-footed before staying on into second over C&D 22 days ago and a 2lb nudge up in the ratings is unlikely to prevent another good account. However, DEVASBOY went into plenty of notebooks on his never-nearer third over 7f at Chepstow recently and this extra yardage could prove fruitful. Poetic Force is the pick of the remainder.

The safest option is COMEDIAN LEADER (nap) who won here last month and found only one too good last time. Poetic Force is feared.

9/2(-50%) | (2) Market House 9/2, Well backed when scored by a length off 63 at Newcastle in March; good effort in a hurdle last time; trainer in form; might find this a bit sharp, but fair mark and serious player Record of 31122 in AW handicaps for new yard and he looks interesting back on the Flat. |

2nd (5) (14/1 -40%)Standbackandlook |
14/1(-40%) | (5) Standbackandlook 14/1, Made too much use of comfortably held in a handicap over 2m at Lingfield last time and may have needed race previous start when also below form; suspicion needs further now and has a bit to prove after recent starts Completed a 1m6f double at Wolverhampton last summer but he's lost his way since then. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/4 +30%)Sea Of Charm |
7/4(+30%) | (6) Sea Of Charm 7/4, Reliable and landed a handicap by 1/2l off 55 over C&D last time; remains on a competitive mark and with track expertise is the one to beat Beat an improver over C&D two weeks ago and a 3lb rise looks fair; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/1 +0%)Pride Of Nepal |
10/1(+0%) | (4) Pride Of Nepal 10/1, Form has tailed off and down the field in a handicap over 11f at Southwell most recent run; op course trainer; C&D winner; needs to recapture sparkle Only 1lb higher than for his C&D win in September and could revive on this return to turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (4/1 -20%)Versatile |
4/1(-20%) | (1) Versatile 4/1, Much better second run after a wind operation outstaying rivals when winning a handicap by a length off 63 over 10f at Bath last time; should enjoy this trip, but first time on the track Cashed in on reduced mark at Bath (1m2f) last week and he's respected under a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (10/3 +52%)Eton Blue |
10/3(+52%) | (3) Eton Blue 10/3, Modest effort in a hurdle latest, but two solid runs on the AW prior to that; goes well here; down in trip; off a short-break, but in the mix C&D winner who is on a dangerous mark but his last win was in September 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (40/1 0%)Galileo's Compass |
40/1(0%) | (7) Galileo's Compass 40/1, Has clearly had issues and ran poorly back from a long break and second time after a wind op here on seasonal debut; entitled to come on for that run, but was tailed off and all to prove Nine-race maiden for three different yards and he's struggled in last four runs. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A switch to more positive tactics saw SEA OF CHARM regain the winning thread over C&D earlier this month. That was the seven-year-old's first visit to this track and and a 3lb nudge up in the ratings looks far from insurmountable. Versatile arrives on the back of a triumph at Bath, but a 5lb penalty and extra quarter-mile in trip could leave him vulnerable. With that in mind, a bigger threat may emerge from the consistent Market House.

Several have possibilities but the vote goes to SEA OF CHARM, who beat an unexposed improver over C&D last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having returned to form with a good second over 1m here three weeks ago, LOCAL BAY could be poised to strike. The son of Cable Guy only gave way in the closing stages last time and racing off an unchanged mark, he makes grand appeal reverting to 7f. Despite an 8lb hike the ratings, the biggest danger may be Havana Mojito, who was given a canny ride when scoring at this track in late-April. Recent C&D runner-up Mashaan is also noted.

The progressive HAVANA MOJITO can go in again after winning here last month. Local Bay is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.
