|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/1 +38%)Danehill Star |
5/1(+38%) | (4) Danehill Star 5/1, Below par when beaten by 3l off the mark of 59 over 10f at Yarmouth last time out; top course trainer; dual winner at Wolverhampton back in April; form been a little out since then so might be best watched Stuck to his guns for second behind a clearcut winner over 1m2f here yesterday. |

3/1(+67%) | (1) Blenheim Star 3/1, Below par when well beaten in a handicap over 9f at Lingfield latest; cheekpieces fitted for the first time; down 1lb in the weights from last run; won off this mark back in April at this venue; can bounce back Cheekpieces on after quiet latest effort but he has a good record around here. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (10/1 -25%)Galileo's Compass |
10/1(-25%) | (6) Galileo's Compass 10/1, Ideally suited by the trip when scoring by 2l off the mark of 52 at Windsor three starts back; since came sixth and beaten by 4l off the mark of 57 last time; can go well here A surprise winner at Windsor in June but hasn't kicked on from there. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (8/1 +20%)Heer's Sadie |
8/1(+20%) | (8) Heer's Sadie 8/1, Probably improved a little on recent efforts down to 7f scored by a length off the mark of 45 over 7f at Yarmouth three starts back; since came and ninth beaten by 10l last time; value selection based on balance of form Back-to-back wins in 7f/1m Yarmouth handicaps before disappointing back there a month ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Heer's Sadie failed in her bid to complete a hat-trick when well beaten at Yarmouth on her most recent start, but she might be worth another chance. Even so, RIVER WHARFE looks the way to go. Tony Carroll's seven-year-old finished a close third over 7f here last time and will have no issues with this extra furlong. He was kindly dropped 1lb for that effort and may take full advantage. Blenheim Star looks best of the rest.

Another Brighton handicap in which Tony Carroll could hold all the aces and RIVER WHARFE should appreciate this return to 1m.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

9/1(-20%) | (2) Marlay Park 9/1, Below par when beaten by 10l in a handicap at Epsom last time; hood fitted for the first time; came second of the mark of 72 at Leicester back in April; could have a place chance in this Epsom form bodes well for being effective here but hooded after two modest runs. |

10/1(-82%) | (1) Mumayaz 10/1, Ran to form when beaten by 1/2l off the mark of 73 over 5f at Windsor last time; top course trainer; winner at this venue back in April off a 1lb lower mark; sure to go well here for the top yard around these parts Course winner; encouraging third at Windsor over 5f which is sharp enough for him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (25/1 -39%)Autumn Rose |

80/1(-142%) | (9) Monkey Miss 80/1, Below par when comfortably held in a handicap over 8f here last time; generally out of form at the moment; top course trainer; comes into this off a short-break; has a bit to find here C&D winner but has finished last in both her runs for Tony Carroll following an absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MIAKODA has filled the top two places in each of his last three starts, most recently at Epsom, and goes off the same rating. James Owen's three-year-old looks well placed to continue his brilliant form. Medinilla occupied the runner-up berth in this grade at Catterick last month and should remain competitive, while Mumayaz is another to keep an eye on.

Mumayaz has to be of interest after running so well over 5f and so too DANNICK (nap) who was placed in a higher grade at Ascot.

1st (6) (40/1 -21%)Swift Winds |
40/1(-21%) | (6) Swift Winds 40/1, Finished a well beaten tenth of ten runners in a maiden over 5f at Nottingham on only start; comes into this off a short-break; up in trip in this; hard to recommend here given the debut effort 66-1 when she brought up the rear at Nottingham two months ago (5f, good). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/8 +54%)Cashbox |
11/8(+54%) | (2) Cashbox 11/8, Did not get a clear run when coming sixth of eleven runners and beaten by 8 1/4l in a novice at Newbury on debut; was sent off 40/1 on debut; pulled to hard on debut effort; needs to settle better here but can still run well Pulled quite hard when finishing midfield in a 7f Newbuy novice that is working out well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (6/4 +20%)Mehmas Air Force |
6/4(+20%) | (5) Mehmas Air Force 6/4, Zero wins in five career runs; ran to form when coming a 1 1/4l third in a nursery at Newbury most recent run; back into maiden company here; has the experience edge; potential threat Third in a Newbury nursery and could have finished second had that race panned out kinder. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (28/1 -56%)Born A Star |
28/1(-56%) | (1) Born A Star 28/1, 30,000 gns yearling; finished a well beaten last of eleven in a novice over 6f at Pontefract on only start; was given an easy time of things on debut; has it all to do and looks to be the sort for handicaps Finished last at Pontefract (6f) but he did sweat up beforehand. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (40/1 -344%)Raspoutine |
40/1(-344%) | (3) Raspoutine 40/1, Twice raced maiden; slowly away when beaten by 9l in a novice at Doncaster last time out; trainer in good form at present; gelded early on in his career; looks the sort to do well in handicaps; bit to find Behind Court Of Stars on debut here; showed more at Doncaster but looks one for nurseries. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Mehmas Air Force holds the most experience over her rivals and wasn't disgraced in third at Newbury on her latest outing, so she has to be taken seriously. However, COURT OF STARS improved on her introduction to finish second over track and trip last time and could have lots more to offer. With the Ollie Sangster yard in good form, she will prove hard to beat. Born A Star is the pick of the remainder.

Mehmas Air Force (second choice) and Court Of Stars have shown the most but CASHBOX didn't shape without promise at Newbury.

1st (2) (11/4 +45%)Manara |
11/4(+45%) | (2) Manara 11/4, Bit below best when upped 3lb on a stiffer track and beaten by 4l off the mark of 82 over 10f at Nottingham last time; comes into this off a short-break; may only stay an easy 10f; could go well If forgiven her latest failure (had a break since) then she makes plenty of appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (10/3 -11%)Lexington Knight |
10/3(-11%) | (1) Lexington Knight 10/3, Won this contest last year; landed a handicap by 1/2l off the mark of 78 at Salisbury last time out; won at this venue the time before; in great form at present; a real contender in this Won this 12 months ago and returns on a hat-trick; can cope with this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/1 +0%)Sugarloaf Lenny |
9/1(+0%) | (3) Sugarloaf Lenny 9/1, Below par when beaten by 8 1/4l in a handicap at York last time out; usually pretty consistent before that run last time; second at Salisbury back in June; can go well here if replicating that effort Not badly handicapped but could have run better last time and he's unraced here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (4/1 +38%)Neoma |
4/1(+38%) | (7) Neoma 4/1, Finished fast when finally saw daylight and scoring by 1/2l off the mark of 66 over 11f at Hamilton in June; since came 12th and beaten by 21l last time; value selection based on balance of form Back on a sound surface she's dangerous to dismiss of what's still a fair mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (13/2 -63%)Annexation |
13/2(-63%) | (5) Annexation 13/2, Ran to form when beaten by 3/4l off the mark of 66 over 10f at Epsom last time; top course trainer; second in his last two runs; in good form at present; the pick on balance of form Runner-up the last twice but those were Class 5s and this should be tougher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (11/2 -57%)Voix De Bocelli |
11/2(-57%) | (6) Voix De Bocelli 11/2, Back to form with a clear run when scoring by 3/4l off the mark of 58 over 10f here three starts back; since came second and beaten by a short-head off the mark of 61 last time; a threat here Good course record; has been running in Class 6s but won't mind returning to 1m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (25/1 +11%)Sanitiser |
25/1(+11%) | (4) Sanitiser 25/1, Looked to have wanted further when comfortably held in a handicap at Epsom last time out; down 4lb after that run; winner over Hurdles in November; looks up against it here His last win was over hurdles and he's offered very little in two Flat handicaps this year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LEXINGTON KNIGHT has won both starts since returning from a short breaK and as he is already a dual C&D winner, Richard Hannon's consistent seven-year-old has a strong chance of completing the hat-trick. Having to concede 18lb to fellow course winner Voix De Bocelli complicates the matter and the betting market could be informative where Henrietta Knight's representative is concerned. Manara and Sugarloaf Lenny complete the shortlist.

Amo Racing's MANARA has been off since May when disappointing but the form of her previous second here makes for good reading.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/2 +55%)Foinix |
9/2(+55%) | (3) Foinix 9/2, Won this last year; slowly away when beaten by 7l in a classified race here last time; comes into this off a short-break; 1lb lower mark in this than last time; needs to bounce back here Won this comfortably 12 months ago but wouldn't appear to be in the same form now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

18/1(-29%) | (4) Temur Khan 18/1, Beaten by 6 1/4l in a handicap at Bath last time; top course trainer; has been creeping down the weights with each passing run recently; form would suggest he is best watched here A previous winner of this race (three years ago) but essentially disappointing this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (50/1 +24%)Bird About Town |
50/1(+24%) | (6) Bird About Town 50/1, Appeared not to stay when a well beaten seventh of nine in a handicap over 10f at Ffos-Las latest; generally out of form at the moment; only beaten a handful of horses in her last few races; bit to find Contesting her first classified race but has shown no worthwhile form in six races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 +0%)Naturally |
20/1(+0%) | (7) Naturally 20/1, Appeared not to stay when comfortably held in a handicap at Salisbury last time; generally out of form at the moment; yet to win in nine career starts; not shown much recently so best watched No wins in nine and best form was for Ed Walker; very opposable on this year's exploits. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SAXON LAND came good with a first-time visor added in a similar race at Yarmouth last month and could again be hard to reel in if the retained headgear has the same impact. Fighting Poet won a couple of handicaps at this venue last year and would be a big danger to the selection if recapturing anything like that sort of form. Foinix and Yarborough are the pick of the remainder.

The chances are that Saxon Land will follow up her Yarmouth win but SILK AND STEEL did win a maiden hurdle in June.

2nd (2) (4/1 -450%)Neptune Legend |
4/1(-450%) | (2) Neptune Legend 4/1, Yard has won the last three running's of this race; won a classified race at Bath over 6f by 5l last time out; top course trainer; a real threat in this contest given the form he is in Has plenty of off days but this is his level and he won easily last week at Bath when 5-4. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

6th (3) (22/1 +56%)Hawajes |
22/1(+56%) | (3) Hawajes 22/1, Yard has won the last three running's of this race; slowly away when finishing down the field in a classified race over 8f at Chepstow most recent; better form on AW; top course trainer; usually held up; more needed Yet again slowly away when not running much of a race here on Wednesday. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

NEPTUNE LEGEND is versatile regarding distance is an attractive proposition on the back of a return to form over an extended 5f at Bath last week. This is no tougher and the step back up to 7f is unlikely to cause the Tony Carroll-trained gelding too many issues. Shot Of Love and Voodoo Ray are not without hope at this modest level and each merits close inspection in the betting.

Tony Carroll's NEPTUNE LEGEND won well enough at Bath last week to believe he'll follow up.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
