13:45 Brighton (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A taking winner on his first run for new connections over C&D recently, STATE OF MADNESS is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming and can follow up off 8lb higher. Over three lengths behind him on that occasion was Fai Fai (third), who is now 5lb better off and is likely to feature again, along with Grovely Belle, who may be suited by dropping back in trip.

A 5lb penalty looks unlikely to stop STATE OF MADNESS (nap) from completing a C&D double. Fai Fai is second choice.

14:20 Brighton (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This can go the way of PEROLA, who is open to any amount of improvement after a promising effort on debut at Kempton, where he was slightly unlucky not to score after being hampered at a crucial stage. Dropping back in trip looks like a good move for Boss Lady, having finished runner-up twice over 6f, while newcomer Havana Jag is one to monitor for market support with Sean Levey booked.

The biggest form contenders are thrice-raced Boss Lady and once-raced PEROLA, while Afton Down is interesting.

14:55 Brighton (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ONLY IN MANILA caught the eye on debut at Southwell when slowly away before running on well for second late in the day. With normal improvement expected, he can go one better for his in-form connections, with Quarter looking best placed to chase him home under a penalty following his course success over 7f on debut last month. Placed on his last two outings, Magical Merlot is another to consider.

Magical Merlot's second on the AW last time sets the standard but once-raced pair QUARTER and Only In Manila are promising.

15:30 Brighton (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Gary & Josh Moore play a strong hand, with Oj Lifestyle and JOYCEAN WAY boasting strong claims. The former, a dual C&D winner, is back on a his last winning mark and is dangerous to overlook. However, Joycean Way is less exposed over a mile and shades preference bidding for a breakthrough success after a close-up second over track and trip last month. Tenbob Tommy has a similar profile and commands respect, likewise last year's winner Marsh Benham.

Low-mileage 4yo TENBOB TOMMY is taken to build on his C&D effort and get off the mark. Marsh Benham is second pick.

16:05 Brighton (Class 6) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BIRTHDAY ANGEL had something in hand when he won over this C&D last week and is a logical option turned out under a 5lb penalty. This is a slightly stiffer test but the son of Dark Angel is still unexposed on turf (on the Flat) and can be competitive again. Mc'ted is also penalised for a ready success at Wolverhampton and can play another prominent role back on the grass. Fighting Poet and Shabu Shabu also warrant betting checks.

The strongest contenders in the present moment are Mc'ted and BIRTHDAY ANGEL both scored comfortably last week.

16:40 Brighton (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The answer could be STARSONG, who placed over 6f here most recently and won under today's jockey over an extended 5f at this track the time before. She has run well over this longer trip in the past and another bold bid is forecast. A Pint Of Bear went down by the narrowest of margins over C&D last time and could be in the firing line again, while King Of War and Oh So Audacious are others to note in a competitive handicap.

Being nicely ahead of the assessor, A PINT OF BEAR has a great chance provided his C&D effort is backed up.

17:15 Brighton (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A chance is taken on LIBRA TIGER, who overcame an awkward start and trouble in running to finish a respectable second over C&D last time. Off the same mark, he remains well handicapped on his old form and should go close if arriving in the same mood. Antiphon has been knocking on the door and warrants respect with first-time cheekpieces equipped, while Alshimali is much better than showing on his latest outing.

A weak sprint can go the way of ALSHIMALI. Antiphon and Barnsnape Boy are feared most.
