12:43 Carlisle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having finished a good second on his Rules bow at Wincanton, it's difficult to look beyond TAP TAP SHAMIE. That extended 1m7f would have been on the sharp side for this 3m point-to-point winner and improvement is forecast on the rise in distance. Judged on his two efforts in defeat on British shores, Maccarellu looks flattered by his current rating of 110. With that in mind, a bigger threat may emerge from Dream On Mick, who scored between the flags in January.

After his promising debut run over hurdles, Irish point winner TAP TAP SHAMIE should prove hard to beat.

13:13 Carlisle (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Eaton Anne looks more than capable of scoring over fences judged on his two previous tries, but he will need to cut out the jumping errors if he is to succeed in this discipline. The introduction of blinkers may help the eight-year-old in that respect, but I WISH YOU is a more solid proposition. The Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore-trained gelding got the better of a subsequent winner at Wetherby and a 7lb rise looks workable. Course winner Benmore is another of interest.

This can go to ORKNEY BLUE, who won over C&D on his chase debut and suffered from heat-stress when only third at Ayr last time.

13:48 Carlisle (Class 4) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Ballin Bay continued his upward trajectory when scoring on the switch to chasing at Sedgefield and must enter the reckoning given his rude health. Although he isn't taken lightly, he faces his tallest assignment to date and it could be worth chancing the down-in-class KYNTARA. The 2024 Pertemps Final runner-up has slipped to an attractive mark, with amateur Darren Andrews good value for his 7lb claim. Cooler Than Me and Dr Seb are feasible alternatives.

In a competitive event JUPITER DES MOTTES is taken to improve markedly on his two previous runs this season by beating Ballin Bay.

14:23 Carlisle (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A convincing winner at Musselburgh in February, SATTAM went close again when runner-up at Newcastle. Beaten only a length, despite a mistake at the last, Dianne Sayer's charge finished well clear of the rest and will be hard to keep out of the finish. Belvedere Bhoy has undergone a wind operation since finishing fourth at Ayr and he could prove competitive, while Kicksaftersix reverts to hurdles off a 6lb lower mark and is another to note.

The most interesting runner is BELVEDERE BHOY (nap), who moves up in trip after keeping on steadily over 2m on his handicap debut.

SHOULDVEBEENSHAV finished a resolute fourth in novice company here last month. That was her best effort over timber so far and she could prove better than her mark now handicapping for the first time. Out On Her Own also produced a much better performance when runner-up over these hurdles last time. She could have a say in proceedings if building on that form, while Huntingdon third Different Drum may prove the pick of the remainder.

The suggestion is DIFFERENT DRUM, who kept on for third at Huntingdon and might be seen to better effect on this stiffer track.

15:27 Carlisle (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SUPER CITIZEN saves his best for this venue and is only 2lb higher than when landing the corresponding race last year. He warmed up nicely for a repeat when runner-up back here last month and another bold bid looks on the cards. Jamesieconn bids for a hat-trick having just prevailed at Newcastle and Doncaster. He's not easily ruled out, while Girls Best Friend went agonisingly close at Exeter and is not out of this either.

Still unexposed at 3m, GIRLS BEST FRIEND bounced back from a rather laboured effort when going close at Exeter last month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Two Brothers and Ryebridge dead-heated over C&D and have to enter calculations once again. The former may have slightly more scope for improvement, with that effort being his handicap hurdle debut, but the claims of LAS CANALS are hard to ignore. A surprise winner of a maiden hurdle at Sedgefield, there didn't appear to be any fluke with the market principals chasing him home and the five-year-old commands plenty of respect now sent handicapping for the first time.

Olly Murphy has been knocking in the winners on a regular basis this week and MOYGANNY PHIL could be another.

16:40 Carlisle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

RED CADILLAC has stepped forward this season following his victory here in November, with a runner-up effort at Ayr before returning to the same venue and getting his head back in front last month. Nicky Richards' charge appears capable of defying an 8lb rise. Devon Skies has enjoyed a fine campaign, winning on four occasions, and should be in the mix along with recent Kelso third Rauzan.

The vote goes to Olly Murphy's handicap newcomer KADO SACREE. Red Cadillac is bidding to make it 3-4 for the season.
