25/1(-257%) | (7) First Company 25/1, Beaten 6l in a handicap at Wetherby last time; enjoys making it; best form AW; risky, but may contend from sliding mark 1-27 on turf and would have even more to prove were the ground to ease significantly. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

7/1(+0%) | (9) Four Adaay 7/1, Disappointing when well fancied beaten 7l in a handicap at Redcar on Tuesday; well treated; threat Only one win in her last 31 starts and this stiff 6f may also pose a problem. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (18/1 -29%)Daytona Lady |
18/1(-29%) | (2) Daytona Lady 18/1, Slowly away beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Nottingham last time; generally out of form; 1lb below last winning mark; chance if getting away on terms 1lb below her last winning mark, but would have something to prove if the rain arrives. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Worrals has hit a top-four finish on her last six starts and she could go well, despite an absence since July last year. However, she may struggle to cope with the race-fit ARANTES NASCIMENTO, who showed plenty of promise when third on his return from a break at Doncaster and is entitled to step forward on his second start for Gemma Tutty. Belsito is also capable enough if he improves on his second appearance after wind surgery.

The return to these conditions make BELSITO (nap) particularly interesting, having won and finished a close second over C&D last June.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (22/1 -83%)Silent Flame |
22/1(-83%) | (4) Silent Flame 22/1, Down the field in a handicap at Leicester most recent when perhaps not suited by the testing conditions; off since October; tends to need the run Acts on any ground but she has a modest record fresh so the 233-day absence is a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (10/1 -11%)Biplane |
10/1(-11%) | (1) Biplane 10/1, Below par beaten 4l in a handicap over 7f at Newcastle last time; generally out of form; should do better back down in trip; place claims more likely Remains 5lb above her highest winning mark and wouldn't want too much rain ideally. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SIR GARFIELD looks to have a solid chance after a Catterick victory was followed with a second at Ayr and although he has been put up 2lb, the booking of Simon Walker is an eyecatching one. Thornaby Pearl could step forward after returning with a two-length third at Ripon, while Silent Flame is a six-time winner over this trip, with three of them off higher marks.

Easing ground would be to the advantage of BAY BREEZE who has dropped 1lb lower than when winning at Nottingham last October.

Mister Moet showed some improvement for his debut ninth when second at Hamilton, but he was beaten five lengths at the line and may need more to win this. Clear Above is of interest for Richard Fahey, but the vote goes to Archie Watson's SNAKE CHARMER. As a son of Time Test, he may be better over further in time, but he travels north from Lambourn for a reason and could be above average.

Preference is for MISTER MOET, who left his debut form well behind when runner-up behind a useful prospect at Hamilton two weeks ago.

50/1(-178%) | (11) Impressor 50/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark beaten 6l in a handicap at Nottingham last time; winner prior; off since November; more needed Rain would be very much in his favour, but record suggests this run may be needed. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BRUMMELL just came out on top in a similarly competitive handicap at Beverley five weeks ago and, entitled to improve for that first start since November, he could defy a 4lb rise in the ratings. Moonstone Boy was narrowly denied his own comeback victory at Musselburgh five days earlier and he is likely to be in the shake-up again. Water Of Leith and Irish Nectar are others to note.

The vote goes to BRUMMELL whose successful Beverley reappearance suggests he is still improving.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MARTIN'S BRIG shades the verdict in an open handicap. David Thompson's charge is a 7f course winner and he also struck over that trip at Wetherby last time. Going back up in distance shouldn't pose any problems for this three-time 1m scorer and he looks sure to play a leading role. Any market support for stable debutant Superior Council would be interesting, while Little Ted also merits a place on the shortlist.

The vote goes to AMERICAN STAR, who showed signs of a revival at Wolverhampton and is very well treated on his Chester win last summer.

11th (12) (300/1 -100%)Breizh Sea |
300/1(-100%) | (12) Breizh Sea 300/1, Well beaten in a maiden over 7f at Newcastle only start; up in trip; all to do Always behind when 100-1 on debut at Newcastle (7f, AW) in December. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A promising winner at Kempton on his only start as a juvenile, PUSH THE LIMIT is readily suggested as the one to be with after another solid display when narrowly defeated at Newmarket on his return. The King's Falcon was a length and three-quarters behind the selection in that Kempton race and, match-fit after going close at Epsom, he has a fair chance of turning things around on these terms. Newcastle winner Sea The Light and Danger Bay complete the shortlist.

Having bumped into a useful sort when second of four on his debut at Haydock last August, DANGER BAY is taken to go one better.

17/2(+29%) | (8) I Got Know How 17/2, Beaten 10l in a handicap over 7f at Redcar last time; in good form prior; trainer in form; up in trip; could sneak a place Fair efforts in 6f handicaps this year but below par over 7f latest; now tackles 1m1f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (9/2 -13%)Sweet Cicely |
9/2(-13%) | (7) Sweet Cicely 9/2, Did not get a clear run beaten 4l off 53 over 8f at Ripon last time; hinted at better prior; up in trip; big chance 0-12 but she's made the frame in handicaps on her last three starts; might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (13/2 +54%)Tootsie |
13/2(+54%) | (4) Tootsie 13/2, Raced freely beaten 9l in a handicap over 8f at Nottingham last time; top course trainer; up in trip; chance down in grade Soundly beaten on handicap debut but made some late headway and this is a stiffer test. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Recent form points towards a bold showing from HILL O RUE, who had Sweet Cicely a place behind when he finished third at Ripon. Given the latter benefited from a 7lb claimer being in the saddle in that race, Kevin Ryan's gelding can uphold the form on the revised terms. Nippasso was a well-held sixth at Ripon so That Lucas Fella is suggested as a more plausible alternative after an improved effort at Wolverhampton last week.

Having made late headway at Nottingham, today's stiffer test could be right up TOOTSIE's street. Hill O Rue is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.
