The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MIGHTY MAGNUS improves with every start and took another step forward when making every yard at Ayr last time. The son of Dark Angel looks on a workable mark for this nursery debut and can continue his good progress. Pontefract runner-up Valor Spirit steps up in trip on his first start in this sphere, and will likely prove competitive with Warren Fentiman's 5lb allowance in his favour, while Dacres Cross could also shape well off the back of his third at York.

Valor Spirit threatens to be suited by this stiffer test now handicapping, but the vote goes to the progressive MIGHTY MAGNUS.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SIMPLY BLUE has eased to an attractive mark and finished a solid third behind the progressive Twirler at Epsom last time. David Loughnane's son of Blue Point looks set to open his account on that evidence and is marginally preferred to Cargin Bhui. The latter is another potentially well treated and a recent placed effort at Doncaster suggests he could land a blow, while Glory Hyde also warrants respect.

Simply Blue had WINTER CROWN behind at Chester last month, but the selection can turn things round on 3lb better terms.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ALNAYEF bounced back to form when finishing a resolute second at over 1m5f at Hamilton recently. Doing his best work in the closing stages, this extra furlong could see Jim Goldie's charge off the mark. Paper Doll drops in distance with a shout based on last month's cosy victory at Pontefract on her penultimate start, while Marbuzet is mostly consistent and could make his presence felt back on today's faster ground.

It's taken time with ALNAYEF (nap) but he's ready to win now for his in-form yard. Paper Doll is second choice.

Ice Sovereigns is the only runner here with placed form after finishing third on heavy ground at Goodwood in late July, but she was beaten five lengths at the line. ELEGANT JO JO is an interesting newcomer for Karl Burke and if the market speaks in her favour, she might have been found a suitable opportunity to make a winning debut. Resdev Time was never involved at Pontefract but is bred to be far better over this distance.

The newcomer Elegant Jo Jo is massively respected but experience could tip this the way of ICE SOVEREIGNS.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (12) (100/1 -100%)Bothy Park |
100/1(-100%) | (12) Bothy Park 100/1, Appeared not to stay down the field in a handicap over 6f at Ayr most recent; bit to find Early promise on AW; neither handicap run suggests she is the answer but 7f should suit. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HARRY PALMER made all the running to come home unchallenged at Thirsk last month, and he has been put up a punitive 6lb for that there is every chance the same tactics could be rewarded. Gorgeous Mr George has been a revelation since being step up to this trip, winning both starts at Yarmouth fairly comfortably, but he has also been put up 6lb and he may have to settle for a place. Toota appeals most of the remainder.

The hat-trick seeking Gorgeous Mr George is solid but REENIE'S DREAM shaped well on her handicap debut and can progress again.

5th (1) (4/1 +20%)Jesmond Dawn |
4/1(+20%) | (1) Jesmond Dawn 4/1, Below par beaten 7l in a handicap over 7f at Newcastle last time; the return to 1m should be a plus; could figure Runner-up over 1m at Ripon (good) in July; less effective over 7f the last twice.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (5/1 -167%)Homeland |
5/1(-167%) | (6) Homeland 5/1, Well backed when landing a handicap by a neck off 60 over 10f at Ripon last time; has form over 1m; 1lb rise; the one to beat Off the mark at Ripon (1m2f, good; 5-4 favourite) a fortnight ago; 1lb rise fair; player.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Top-weight Jesmond Dawn finished second in a better race off 1lb higher in July and, although beaten twice since, he has every chance of another bold showing here. Runninsonofagun has placed form in Ireland off higher marks and is another to consider, but HOMELAND gets the vote. A winner over further by a neck at Ripon, he has only been put up 1lb for that and should have no issue with dropping back in trip.

The consistent HOMELAND has been fairly treated for his Ripon win so could provide the answer in a race lacking a standout candidate.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
