(8) (66/1 +34%)Thornaby Annie |
66/1(+34%) | (8) Thornaby Annie 66/1, Green and hung badly on a poor debut when well beaten in a novice at Haydock on only start; off a short break; likely one for further down the line. Finished a well-beaten last of ten on her Haydock debut in July. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Below her best in a tougher contest at York last time, ISLE OF FERNANDEZ looks worthy of another chance based on her second over 7f at Goodwood prior to that. Kevin Ryan's filly found only the subsequent Prestige Stakes third Aylin too good on that occasion and a similar effort here could see her off the mark. Perineighs can fare better back at this level, while Only Dream Big looks pick of the remainder.

This looks a good opportunity for ISLE OF FERNANDEZ who should find this easier than when contesting maidens at Goodwood and York.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (8/1 +20%)Kunaa |
8/1(+20%) | (3) Kunaa 8/1, Improved after a slow start, benefitting from a pace collapse to score by 2l off 65 over 5f at Musselburgh three runs back; below form up in trip when fifth beaten 4l off 70 last time; effective at 5f on good and good to firm, though probably on a stiff enough mark. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Tim Easterby trained last year's winner and his Dark Angel filly RUM THERAPY could be the one to side with. She proved better than her opening mark when scoring over the stiff 5f at Beverley on her nursery debut and a 2lb rise may not be enough to prevent another bold bid. Magistery failed to get a clear run in a nursery at Ripon last time and she rates a bigger threat than Pontefract winner Sparkling Pink.

This could go the way of BOY NAMED SIOUX who has been brought along steadily and appeals as an improver going into nursery company.

28/1(-12%) | (6) Instant Bond 28/1, Made too much use of and well beaten in a Nottingham handicap latest; generally out of form; wears a hood first time and returns from a short break; has a bit to prove. Has failed to beat a rival in 6f handicaps at Chelmsford and Nottingham in early summer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BELLA LOVE was caught in the shadow of the post when going agonisingly close in a maiden handicap over 7f here latest. A solid fourth over this trip at Catterick before that, Ivan Furtado's charge looks set to strike. Edgewater Drive landed a double over C&D last summer and will be hard to keep out of the finish if returning to the same level, while Giselles Izzy also merits consideration.

Wilf Storey's EDGEWATER DRIVE signalled he is ready to strike again when an encouraging fourth at Hamilton and can bag a third C&D win

Maris Angel returned to winning ways at Wolverhampton last week and is likely to be on the premises, despite her 5lb penalty. However, YAZAMAN did well to get up for third in this grade at Beverley on his most recent start and goes off an unchanged mark. The seven-year-old lurks on an appealing rating and he looks the way to go. Last-time-out C&D winner Chief Of State is another to consider.

Recent winners Maris Angel and Chief Of State are respected but this could be the day for YAZAMAN to exploit a handy mark.

THOSEWERETHEDAYS wasn't disgraced in third over 1m2f at Windsor last month and he sets a fair standard with an official rating of 82. Ralph Beckett's gelding should relish this extra furlong and may take another step forward to score. Sound Janet hit the crossbar off a mark of 75 at Goodwood on her latest outing and has to be respected back in maiden company. Of the remainder, Lahire makes the most appeal.

This looks to be a two-horse race and preference is for SOUND JANET to get off the mark ahead of Thosewerethedays.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having continued her upward trajectory when scoring at Brighton recently, Lunanova merits respect in her follow-up bid. The three-year-old isn't taken lightly, but a 6lb penalty does demand more. RAVISHING BEAUTY arrives on the back of a close-up second at Ayr and, off 2lb higher, Jedd O'Keeffe's filly is slightly more compelling. Runninsonofagun is also worth a second look in here.

This can go to HOSTELRY whose two C&D wins include this race two years ago. bRavishing Beauty\p is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

EXPOSAY left behind her opening fourth at Wolverhampton when scoring at Thirsk in July. An opening mark of 75 looks workable for the daughter of Sergei Prokofiev and a double may be on the cards. Recent C&D winner One Night Thunder cannot be dismissed on this quick turnaround and he's feared most, ahead of last month's Ayr scorer Native Honey.

It is difficult to get away from ONE NIGHT THUNDER (nap). The main danger is Exposay.
Ths is the racecard key.
