LATIN FIVE has been running well on the all-weather in recent starts, but Paul Midgley's charge has been more effective on turf previously. The eight-year-old had a mixed campaign last season but he's undeniably well handicapped now and if continuing his recent level of form, it would come as no surprise were he to come out on top. Jamie's Choice finished second off this mark at Redcar when last seen in September and is respected, along with Golden Prosperity.

Three-time course winner MEWS HOUSE took a sizeable step back in the right direction last time and is taken to snap a losing sequence.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This looks competitive and only a tentative vote can go to UNTIL DAWN, who has shown clear progress since being switched to handicaps. Alan Brown's filly hit the woodwork when in search of her hat-trick at Southwell three weeks ago, but a switch to turf could prompt further improvement and a low draw is favourable too. Natsumi recorded a narrow success at Lingfield last time out and is an obvious danger. Market support for Solar Biricz should be noted.

The suggestion is THE FEMININE URGE returned to the scene of her clear best performance. Until Dawn is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TWOFORTHEGUTTER's turf form tailed off at the end of last season but Christopher Kellett's charge is only 1lb higher than when on target at Hamilton last June and if the break has freshened him up, the son of Expert Eye could bounce back. Flying Scotsman has been running with credit at Newcastle recently so must enter calculations, along with Arctic Fox, who drops in class.

The vote goes to STELLARMASTERPIECE, who looks interesting back on the Flat. Twoforthegutter is second choice.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (250/1 -25%)Hyzenthlay Rah |
250/1(-25%) | (9) Hyzenthlay Rah 250/1, Well beaten in a novice over 5f at Wolverhampton only start; up in trip; all to prove Half-sister to five winners but always behind at 200-1 on recent debut over 5f on AW. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having weakened inside the final furlong to finish seventh over 1m2f at Beverley in August last year, Stay In The Game warrants consideration reverting to novice company and dropping in trip. However, preference is for three-year-old TAWASOL. The Havana Grey colt arrives on the back of a close-up second at Wolverhampton and he ticks the most boxes. Monsieur Fudge is also noted sporting first-time blinkers.

240,000gns colt TAWASOL was a promising runner-up at Wolverhampton in December on his second start and is taken to go one better.

6/1(+0%) | (3) Darbucks 6/1, Ran to form beaten l off 61 at Musselburgh last time; top jockey back on board; finished off last term in fine form; probably prefer some cut, handles decent ground; player if wound up Two wins last year; chance depends on how he deals with the widest stall. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The combination of a 182-day break and return to 7f proved just the tonic recent Musselburgh winner DOOMSDAY. The six-year-old's 5lb penalty is effectively negated by Tom Kiely-Marshall's 5lb claim in the plate and a quick double could be on the cards. Coconut Bay finished only a neck behind the selection and, racing off an unchanged mark, she is feared most. Market support for either Beltane or Darbucks would be interesting.

No surprise if Doomsday and COCONUT BAY fight out a similar finish to last week's, with the mare gaining her revenge this time

7th (1) (16/1 -191%)Go On Rosie |
16/1(-191%) | (1) Go On Rosie 16/1, Ran to form beaten 2l off 70 over 5f at Thirsk last time; may need the run but ran well on career debut; went close over CD in nursery last August; consistent; gets the vote Largely consistent last term; the only runner in this field who isn't a maiden; respected. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

It could pay to focus on those who have a recent run under their belt, namely LUCIUS AURELIUS and Kisskodi. The latter only found one too good when a well-backed favourite on his seasonal/handicap debut at Newcastle and should go well again, but Kevin Ryan's charge shades the verdict coming out of stall one. The rail draw should suit this frontrunner, who arguably produced his best effort to date when returning at Southwell. Go On Rosie may fare best of the rest.

With further improvement plausible, Newcastle runner-up KISSKODI (nap) is taken to go one better. Lucius Aurelius is second pick.

11th (11) (40/1 -100%)Bazball |
40/1(-100%) | (11) Bazball 40/1, Made too much use of beaten 8l in a handicap over 7f at Newcastle last time; regressive; back down in trip a plus; needs return to turf to spark a revival Her mark continues to fall but others make greater appeal than this regressive 4yo. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Past C&D winner ACT OF VIOLENCE edges the vote in what looks a fiercely competitive finale. He finished last season with two solid efforts in 0-80 company, appears best on this forecast quick ground and is the choice of stable jockey David Allan. Tim Easterby's other runner Mister Sox likes it here, recording both career victories at this venue, and he shouldn't be underestimated, while Daytona Lady is a capable type.

The Richard Hannon-trained DAPPERLING has dropped to a dangerous mark and first time up may be the time to catch her.
Ths is the racecard key.
