14:12 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TOMMYTWOHOOTS went close to gaining his first career success on turf when beaten a short head over C&D at the start of the month, having won the race on his side of the track, and it would be no surprise were he to go one better. Object has some decent form with cut in the ground and is a threat along with Grandad Bob, who has gone well fresh in the past.

A dual C&D winner, ZOOM STAR shaped as if needing the run after 5 months off when sixth in a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago and, having slipped a little more in the weights, she could well be ready to take a step forward with that under her belt. Tommytwohoots went agonisingly close over C&D latest and he's feared with a repeat, with Object and John Kirkup others to consider.

John Kirkup should go well with a run behind him but this could be the day TOMMYTWOHOOTS secures his first 5f success.

14:47 Catterick Stakes (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

NORTHERNER made a promising start to her career when runner-up at Wetherby in June last year and the daughter of Profitable, who raced on much faster ground on that occasion, is unlikely to be inconvenienced by conditions. Moral Standards (second) and Obligatory (third) both outran their odds in a Pontefract novice earlier in the month and the pair are expected to be in the mix too.

With her reappearance run behind her, MORAL STANDARDS proved a different proposition when second at Pontefract 22 days ago and she can build on that to go one better. The main danger could be Northerner, who made an encouraging debut at Wetherby last summer (the winner scored again next time), with Obligatory the pick of the remainder.

Moral Standards finished in front of OBLIGATORY last time but the placings may be reversed over this shorter trip.

15:17 Catterick Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

VINCE L'AMOUR benefited a lot from his return over C&D when running out a hugely impressive winner at Ripon last Thursday, and connections take the option of running under a 6lb penalty before the handicapper reassesses. La Boo has performed with promise on several occasions and may have more to offer on her handicap debut, while others for the shortlist include Moyola and Law Of Average.

VINCE L'AMOUR was most impressive at Ripon last week, tanking along in front before easily putting the race to bed, so he should be able to defy a penalty if the race doesn't come too soon. Law of Average is the main danger on the back of a good third at Lingfield and La Boo appeals as an interesting handicap debutant.

There's more to come from Law Of Average but VINCE L'AMOUR (nap) is well in under a penalty for last week's emphatic Ripon win.

15:47 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Previous C&D winner SUGARPIEHONEYBUNCH performed well when fourth back over this trip here three weeks ago and looks worth another chance with the likely deep ground in her favour. The Dancing Poet, already a three-time C&D winner, has form that ties in with the selection and cannot be ruled out, while Corsican Caper is also well treated and warrants a betting check.

SUGARPIEHONEYBUNCH has winning C&D form from a higher mark than this and heavily backed to score here 3 weeks ago, she was left with a lot to do as the race unfolded. Compensation may well be forthcoming in a race in which most have lots to prove. The Dancing Poet could be the chief threat on his return to action.

This looks a minefield and KOJIN, who steps back up to a more suitable trip, may be able to capitalise on today's drop in class.

16:17 Catterick Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Origintrail is a player in this company and warrants a betting check on her first run of the season, while Tyger Bay is back on turf off a competitive rating and rates a serious contender on these terms. However, LITTLE MUDDY, who runs off 3lb below her last winning mark, created a favourable impression when finishing third on her seasonal debut at Doncaster last month. She has likely benefitted from that run and this could be a good time to catch the eight-year-old.

ALAFDHAL was in good form on all-weather over the winter and has continued that fine run on turf, so provided this doesn't come too soon after Monday's Pontefract success, he can win again. Tyger Bay is a player on his first turf start of the year, with Little Muddy the pick of the remainder.

Ben Haslam has his string in great nick so it could be worth siding with his returning ORIGINTRAIL to capitalise on a handy-looking mark

BEAUTY CHOICE had the reopposing Mutanaaseq (third) just over two lengths behind when scoring over C&D last time out, and the seven-year-old can follow up despite being 4lb worse off at the weights with that rival. Winless since August 2022, Buckshaw Village bounced back to form with a strong runner-up effort at Thirsk earlier in the month and is noted along with Wreck It Ryley.

RED MIRAGE generally struggled last season, but he goes well fresh and starts the new campaign off a potentially handy mark so could be worth chancing after a breathing operation. Beauty Choice and Mutanaaseq head the dangers.

Plenty are in with a shout but course specialist MUTANAASEQ teed himself up well for this when third here last time and he gets the nod

17:25 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

This can go the way of LOUBIERE, who may have disappointed last time out but is better judged on her penultimate effort when second over 1m at Newcastle. Rebecca Menzies' charge showed promise on the turf last season and this looks like a good opportunity to get off the mark, with recent Chelmsford runner-up Clionia the main danger. Havana Prince and the unexposed handicap debutant Jesmond Dawn cannot be ruled out either.

The return to this trip should suit BESTIE and he earns the vote ahead of Havana Prince and Fly Pass.

This looks a good opportunity for Amy Murphy's consistent filly FLY PASS to build on her Yarmouth fourth and gain a breakthrough victory
