Bolted up from the front at Wolverhampton in October; 6lb rise fair; good amateur booked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (4/1 +38%)Vaynor |
4/1(+38%) | (1) Vaynor 4/1, One-paced down in trip when fourth beaten 8l in a handicap at Epsom last time; returning from a break; effective over 12-14f, acts on the all-weather; in fair form. Chance on his penultimate second and this course winner now drops in grade; considered. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Spectacular Style romped home at Wolverhampton last time and looks a danger to all. He sports the same colours as the consistent filly Cardinal Point, and she could also have a say in the outcome, but another chance goes the way of CAPTAIN ROBERT. James Fanshawe's charge has gone agonisingly close the last twice and, due to be raised 3lb for his recent narrow defeat at Lingfield, he gets the nod to go one better.

Spectacular Style is greatly respected but the progressive 3yo CAPTAIN ROBERT may have his measure this time.

1st (6) (11/2 +54%)Saeculamation |
11/2(+54%) | (6) Saeculamation 11/2, Below form when fourth, beaten 6 1/2l, in a nursery at Wolverhampton latest. Effective at 5–6f on the all-weather and needs to build on recent runs. Inconsistent eight-race maiden who was laboured at Wolverhampton last time; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (10/11 +74%)Far Too Fizzy |
10/11(+74%) | (4) Far Too Fizzy 10/11, Scored by 3/4l off 51 here on his penultimate start. Out-kicked after being too keen following a slow start when fifth last time. Has a top course jockey booked and is effective at 6f on the all-weather. Needs to bounce back. Won over C&D on penultimate run and he could kick on again back at this track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (11/1 +31%)Magnificent Mel |
11/1(+31%) | (9) Magnificent Mel 11/1, Showed a better effort but looked short of pace when well beaten in a Kempton novice last time. Speedily bred yet to display that on track but could improve for a switch to handicaps. Beaten 10l or more in her three runs and needs improvement on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (50/1 -127%)A Lott Of Kane |
50/1(-127%) | (8) A Lott Of Kane 50/1, Failed to settle and still produced a poor effort back up in trip when well beaten in a Southwell maiden latest. Trainer is in form but the wide draw and speed-based pedigree leave him with plenty to prove. Failed to beat a rival in three qualifying runs; needs a transformation on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (9/2 +0%)Forceful Lady |
9/2(+0%) | (5) Forceful Lady 9/2, Produced a game effort, making plenty of use of herself from a bad draw when beaten 1 1/4l off 49 at Wolverhampton last time. Effective over 7–8f on the all-weather. Drop in trip should be fine off a fair mark. 0-6 but she made a bold bid over 7f here last time; interesting contender back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (7/1 -17%)Mythical Night |
7/1(-17%) | (3) Mythical Night 7/1, Enjoyed a good trip on the inner and had every chance when second, beaten 3l, in a Brighton maiden latest. Cheekpieces applied for the first time and returns from a break. On a fair mark for this all-weather debut over 5f. Runner-up in Brighton maiden latest and she's a key player on nursery debut; headgear on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (22/1 -340%)Kanes A Lott |
22/1(-340%) | (2) Kanes A Lott 22/1, Wears a tongue-tie for the first time. Made too much use of when comfortably held in a nursery at Wolverhampton last time. Trained by a leading local handler and bred to sprint. Could do better. Well held in all four runs and he needs improvement back at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (20/1 -82%)Aplaceinthesun |
20/1(-82%) | (1) Aplaceinthesun 20/1, Cheekpieces were tried and she dropped in trip but faded badly when down the field in a maiden here last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time and is bred to appreciate 7f. Needs more now handicapping. Unexposed filly but she needs a transformation dropped to 6f on nursery debut; tongue tied. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Far Too Fizzy won over C&D in October with the subsequent Wolverhampton winner Kuiama back in second. However, both have disappointed since and it could pay to take a chance on MYTHICAL NIGHT. The daughter of Invincible Army took a big step forward when runner-up at Brighton in August and Dylan Cunha's filly could prove ahead of her opening mark now handicapping for the first time.

The vote goes to FORCEFUL LADY, who was a clear second at Wolverhampton two weeks ago and is open to more progress back in trip.

1st (2) (3/1 -50%)Quartermaster |
3/1(-50%) | (2) Quartermaster 3/1, 2 Feb; 140,000gns Sea The Moon colt; half-brother to Echoing, a modest maiden; dam smart at 8f; top yard but will have to be at least useful to make a winning debut. 140,000gns yearling; interesting newcomer and he needs a close look in the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 -71%)York Tower |
3/1(-71%) | (4) York Tower 3/1, Touched green and finished off well under a considerate ride when runner-up beaten a length in a novice at Yarmouth on his only start. Off a short break. The one to beat with improvement likely. Promising second on Yarmouth debut and he sets fair standard on that form; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/5 +47%)Naqada King |
4/5(+47%) | (1) Naqada King 4/5, Promising debut behind a smart stablemate, looking like further would suit when finishing runner-up beaten 5l in an 8f maiden at Kempton. The trainer is in form and he's effective at 8f on the all-weather. A big sort with more to offer. Runner-up behind an impressive stablemate on Kempton debut (1m) last month; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (50/1 +50%)Roc De Fer |
50/1(+50%) | (3) Roc De Fer 50/1, Green and outpaced throughout when well beaten in a novice at Southwell on his only start. Middle-distance bred and likely to do better in handicaps at three. 100-1 on recent Southwell debut (7f, AW) and he was in rear throughout. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

YORK TOWER is taken to edge what looks a tight contest on paper. William Haggas' charge caught the eye making late progress to finish second under a considerate ride at Yarmouth on debut and should be a lot wiser. Naqada King drops in trip after finishing runner-up over a mile at Kempton on his introduction. That experience could give him the advantage over the other Godolphin runner Quartermaster.

This is a tight call between Naqada King and YORK TOWER who sets a fair standard on his debut second at Yarmouth in October.

4/5(+51%) | (2) Gatehouse 4/5, Green under pressure but came clear with winner when runner-up beaten a length in a maiden at Lingfield on debut; stays 8f, acts on AW; should improve fair bit for debut experience. Lingfield 2nd (1m, AW) nine days ago is the best form in this and showed plenty of promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (3/1 +40%)New Bay Star |
3/1(+40%) | (3) New Bay Star 3/1, Made too much use of on quite testing ground when fourth beaten 12l in a novice at Redcar latest; gelded since; effective 8f, should appreciate 10f+, acts on GS; could bounce back up in trip on AW debut. Staying-on third at Bath (1m) in October was better than his 1m1f runs either side; gelded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (25/1 -14%)Cold Fish |
25/1(-14%) | (1) Cold Fish 25/1, 4 May; 40,000gns No Nay Never colt; half-brother to winners, including fair 10f scorer Sea The Wonder; likely up against it on debut. 40,000gns yearling by No Nay Never; market may guide on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/1 -13%)Turku |
9/1(-13%) | (4) Turku 9/1, Game and finished as if further would suit when beaten 6l in a novice here last time; bred to get 10f and should improve again, particularly now up in trip. It looked last time as if he'd get 1m2f but major improvement is still needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (13/2 -63%)Hot To Hot |
13/2(-63%) | (5) Hot To Hot 13/2, Good late gains from well back when 8l fourth in a maiden at Lingfield first-time out; stays 8f, should get further, acts on AW; likely improver. Looks sure to improve but Gatehouse was 7l ahead at Lingfield (1m, AW) on same terms. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (40/1 -150%)Mohaab |
40/1(-150%) | (8) Mohaab 40/1, A touch outpaced in a fast race but saw it out as if further would suit when fourth beaten 3 1/4l in a novice at Bath latest; effective at 7/8f and may improve over a longer trip on the all-weather. Stays 1m and acts on Polytrack but, after seven races, looks exposed as a modest maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (33/1 -136%)Queen Of Astolat |
33/1(-136%) | (7) Queen Of Astolat 33/1, Green when well beaten in a maiden at Nottingham on her only start; trainer in form; middle-distance bred and may prefer a sound surface; improvement required. 6-1 and hooded, never-dangerous fifth of eight at Nottingham (1m, good) was low-level form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (14/1 -155%)Norcross Brow |
14/1(-155%) | (6) Norcross Brow 14/1, Finished best as if needing further when second beaten 3/4l in a novice at Pontefract latest; effective at 8f, acts on GS; should improve stepped up in trip. Kept on well into second of nine in novice at Pontefract (1m, good to soft) 11 weeks ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GATEHOUSE boasts the strongest piece of form on offer. Beaten only a length over a mile at Lingfield on debut, the son of Ten Sovereigns gave the strong impression this extra test of stamina would suit and a bold bid is anticipated. Norcross Brow showed a big improvement when narrowly beaten at Pontefract in September and debuts on the all-weather with a shout, while New Bay Star could bounce back with Billy Loughnane taking over the reins.

Hot To Hot and Norcross Brow showed promise last time but not as much as GATEHOUSE who had Hot To Hot 7l behind at Lingfield.

4th (2) (11/2 -22%)Another Abbot |
11/2(-22%) | (2) Another Abbot 11/2, Again below form when beaten 8l in a handicap at Southwell last time. Suited by 6f and acts on all-weather; has been struggling of late and needs to bounce back despite a 2lb drop. Two 6f turf wins this summer; well held in two runs this autumn; revival needed back at 5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (9/1 -64%)Diomed Spirit |
9/1(-64%) | (6) Diomed Spirit 9/1, First win in over 20 months, showed good attitude when landing a handicap by a neck off 75 at Lingfield last time; top course jockey/trainer combination; effective 5/6f, may need a sound surface, best AW; respected up 3lb. Six-time AW winner (including two over C&D) and picked up well at Lingfield latest; solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (12/1 -85%)Solvency |
12/1(-85%) | (7) Solvency 12/1, Best run of 2025 when beaten 2l off 77 here last time; wide draw; effective at 5f, acts on GS, AW; can do better still for new yard. Back to form when 3rd over C&D last week but has work to do with Almaty Star on that run. |

Mixed bag in 2025, including both runs after his 2nd wind op of the year; new cheekpieces. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Alligator Alley arrives in fine form and may well confirm superiority with Cloud King (second) having beaten the latter at Southwell last time. That pair will likely be thereabouts, but ALMATY STAR could prove the one to side with. Bob Cowell's sprinter was successful off a 5lb higher mark at the start of the year and looks set to resume winning ways on the back of last week's creditable second over C&D.

Robert Cowell may hold the key and CLOUD KING (nap) can build on his latest Southwell second. Almaty Star is feared most.

Effective over 7f to 8f in France, acts on the all-weather, but needs to settle better. Not at best in two British starts but a repeat of even those efforts might suffice here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (10/3 -67%)Rastnet |
10/3(-67%) | (10) Rastnet 10/3, Ran to a similar level to debut behind a good horse when second, beaten 6l, in a novice at Kempton last time. Ridden by a top course jockey; effective over 8f and acts on the all-weather. Likeable type with more to offer. Similar form in two 1m novice runs at Kempton; can do better but such progress is required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (4/1 +67%)Oceans Five |
4/1(+67%) | (4) Oceans Five 4/1, Modest debut when well beaten in a maiden at Newmarket on his sole start. Bred for further around 1m and surely capable of better, though returns from an absence. Green when down the field in strong Newmarket maiden (7f) last October; can do better. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (6/1 -50%)Thermal Energy |
6/1(-50%) | (8) Thermal Energy 6/1, Made minor late progress when beaten 9 1/4l in a novice at Wolverhampton on debut. 250/1(-400%) | (5) Power Quest 250/1, Never travelling when well beaten in a novice at Newcastle on Flat debut. Has a wide draw; an ex-bumper performer who may fare better over further once handicapping. Some promise in bumpers but he was well beaten at 66-1 on recent Flat debut (7f, Tapeta). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (125/1 -213%)Dupont Circle |
125/1(-213%) | (2) Dupont Circle 125/1, 3,500gns breeze-up purchase by No Nay Never; related to several speedy winners including US 5f winner Blue Eyed Soul. Wide draw not ideal on debut. Related to 2 winning sprinters in North America out of US 5f winner; not an obvious winner. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CHAMPAGNE POWDER came up short back in novice company at Southwell last time when finding a couple too good. Saying that, it wasn't a bad effort and the son of Kodiac will likely be bang there at the finish. Kempton runner-up Rastnet has shown enough to suggest she can have a say in proceedings. She's preferred to Shamacid, who usually finds at least one too good.

A few potential improvers on show but CHAMPAGNE POWDER looks to have been found a good chance to finally break his maiden.

Two Tempting gained revenge on his Southwell conqueror when reversing the placings at Kempton and has been bumped back up to a triple-digit figure. He has never won off a mark this high so perhaps it's worth giving another chance to BLUE RC, who couldn't quite complete the hat-trick but has plenty more to offer. Serengeti had Crown Board a couple of positions behind when going close on his first start for Dylan Cunha, and fellow Irish import Bravais is worth a look too.

Two Tempting was better than ever at Kempton last month but the unexposed BLUE RC could still have his best days ahead of him.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Love Your Work was able to dictate terms to suit himself over 1m2f here and took full advantage to justify favouritism. Rajinoora also arrives in winning form, although that came at Epsom back in July and she still has something to prove on the all-weather. Liv My Life and Valkyrja hit the crossbar on the same day at Wolverhampton and Newcastle respectively, but TONAL is 2lb well-in following an honourable second when on a three-timer at Kempton and is fancied to capitalise.

Rajinoora is greatly respected despite a wide stall and an absence but the in-form TONAL may be the answer in a competitive race.
Ths is the racecard key.
