|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (7/1 -40%)Emerald Breeze |
7/1(-40%) | (5) Emerald Breeze 7/1, A bit free but improved from debut and was just out-battled late by a strong stayer when second, beaten 3/4l, in a novice hurdle at Ffos Las last time. 80/1(+20%) | (13) Stone Cold 80/1, May have found the ground too testing when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton last time. Effective on G and may need further than 2m over hurdles. Soundly beaten at 100-1 in two hurdles for new stable this winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(14) (80/1 +20%)Wings Of Arion |
80/1(+20%) | (14) Wings Of Arion 80/1, Moderate debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las on his only start; may need more time. Tailed off when 100-1 for debut at Ffos Las (2m4f, heavy) a fortnight ago. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BOSSMAN JACK was third behind a couple of promising types in a maiden at Warwick before getting off the mark over hurdles in a similar event at Ffos Las most recently. This progressive half-brother to the smart Gidleigh Park could be well placed to cope with a penalty. Emerald Breeze is the pick of the rest with hurdles experience, while I'm Wide Awake and Donald Jump can figure if building on their promising bumper form.

The most obvious answer is BOSSMAN JACK, who ran to a useful level when winning at Ffos Las last month.

(2) (4/6 -8%)Merci Mam |
4/6(-8%) | (2) Merci Mam 4/6, Very promising 1 1/4l winner of a juvenile hurdle at Lyon Parilly on debut. That looks good form. Returning from a break, effective at 2m1f and acts on heavy ground. A French winner with more to come for a top yard. Well related; tidy winner on French debut (2m1f, heavy); 520,000euros buy; Triumph entry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/4 +50%)Aqua Bleu |
9/4(+50%) | (1) Aqua Bleu 9/4, Quickened clear readily and improved to defy a penalty when winning a juvenile hurdle at Lingfield by 4 1/2l last time. Off a short break, effective at 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground. Progressing over hurdles and looks a huge player despite big weight. Easy winner at Doncaster and Lingfield in six-runner races over about 2m on good to soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (4/1 +20%)Mwabani |
4/1(+20%) | (5) Mwabani 4/1, Green early but finished well on a promising debut when runner-up, beaten 2 1/2l, in a juvenile hurdle at Exeter on his only start. Off a short break, effective at 2m and acts on good to soft. Debut form franked in a Grade 2 and should improve significantly so a big threat. Looked good prospect at Exeter; a question though whether it's of the longer-term variety. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (22/1 +0%)Maestro Du Mesnil |
22/1(+0%) | (4) Maestro Du Mesnil 22/1, Promising debut when beaten 10l into fourth in a juvenile hurdle at Hereford first time out. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time and returns from a break. Effective at 2m and acts on good ground but must improve to challenge. Fourth of six at Hereford, 9l behind fellow newcomer Aqua Bleu; now gelded and tongue tied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (28/1 +15%)Dream's Ka |
28/1(+15%) | (3) Dream's Ka 28/1, Green and stumbled on the bend when comfortably held in a 4yo hurdle at Warwick last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft ground. Should improve a little with experience. Showed some ability both starts but he looks clearly the stable second string. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MERCI MAM won his sole start in France before changing hands for 520,000 euros at the Arqana sales in November. With expectations likely to be high, this half-brother to the smart Instit is hard to ignore debuting for Dan Skelton at this level. Aqua Bleu didn't beat much in either of his hurdle wins at Doncaster and Lingfield, but he did it impressively and must also be taken seriously. Mwabani is the clear pick of the rest.

Dan Skelton's new, ex-French recruit MERCI MAM was bought for 520,000euros. Mwabani and Aqua Bleu are the dangers.

(3) (5/6 +0%)Juby Ball |
5/6(+0%) | (3) Juby Ball 5/6, Improved back down in trip when second, beaten 6 1/2l, in a novice chase here last time. Would've won over 2 1/2m but for falling previoulsy. Effective over 2m on soft ground and there may be a bit more to come over fences off what looks a generous mark. 2-2 over hurdles; has made promising start to chasing career and is on a good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/4 +0%)The Four Sixes |
9/4(+0%) | (1) The Four Sixes 9/4, Went clear with ease and outclassed rivals when winning a novice chase at Kelso by 16l last time, having dropped in grade. Enjoys making it and is effective at around 2m-2m4f on soft and good ground; progressing over fences now his jumping has improved and fair mark judged on hurdles form. Useful hurdler; gained both chase wins in tiny-field novice events; tricky to weigh up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/2 +10%)Willmount |
9/2(+10%) | (4) Willmount 9/2, Made a bit too much use of up in trip and did not get home when third, beaten 16l, in a handicap chase here on his most recent run. Trainer in form and off a short break; effective around 2m on good to soft and good, and can do better if ridden more conservatively. Positives can be drawn from both chase runs and this drop back in trip ought to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (6/1 +0%)Gamesters Guy |
6/1(+0%) | (2) Gamesters Guy 6/1, Keen and his jumping went to pieces late when comfortably held and eased in a handicap chase at Windsor last time. Effective over 2 1/2-3m, consistent overall, and may do better if brushing up on his jumping. Didn't run badly when last of five at Windsor last month and enters calculations. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Juby Ball bounced back from a fall at Ffos Las with a good second in a novices' event over 2m here last month. Stepping back up in trip should suit and he is a threat to all. Nevertheless, preference is for THE FOUR SIXES, who was a wide-margin winner at Kelso just after Christmas. The Olly Murphy-trained gelding sets a good standard and can cope with top weight in this company. Gamesters Guy can master Willmount for third.

Promising 7yo JUBY BALL was not discredited when second here last month and could be a very tough nut to crack over this longer trip.

(2) (2/1 +50%)Love Of Neymore |
2/1(+50%) | (2) Love Of Neymore 2/1, Scored by a neck off a 6lb lower mark here three starts back. Made a bad error at a key stage but rallied and ran to form when fourth, beaten 5l off 119 last time off the same mark; effective at 2m4f and acts on soft and good. Should remain competitive. C&D winner on good to soft in December and has held her own in Class 2s since then. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (7/2 -5%)Princess Keri |
7/2(-5%) | (4) Princess Keri 7/2, Did it cosily and, although she did not beat much, improved down in class and was suited by a positive ride at a sharp track when landing a handicap by 17l off a 14lb lower mark at Hereford last time. Enjoys making it and is effective over 2m-2m5f on good to soft and good but plenty more needed off this mark. On a roll but went up 14lb for winning an uncompetitive race at Hereford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/2 -27%)Holly Hartingo |
7/2(-27%) | (1) Holly Hartingo 7/2, Built on a recent return to form under an aggressive ride when beaten a head off a 5lb lower mark at Kempton last time. Effective over 2 1/2m-3m and in fine form, she looks very well treated on old efforts so holds every chance. Getting high in the weights but she's in top form and another bold show seems likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (7/2 +30%)Getaway Theatre |
7/2(+30%) | (5) Getaway Theatre 7/2, Won this race last year. Made too much use of when beaten 8l in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time; blinkers are applied for the first time, she is effective over 2m4f-3m1f and suited by plenty of cut, and still looks on a fair mark. Top jockey booked and should go well. Last year's winner; every chance should the change of headgear have a positive effect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (4/1 -20%)Jalisco Star |
4/1(-20%) | (3) Jalisco Star 4/1, Scored by 9 1/2l off a 9lb lower mark at Uttoxeter three starts back. Forced to switch and improved again when second, beaten 3l off 115 last time and 1lb higher here; effective over 3m, further the better, and acts on any ground. Up a grade off a career-high mark but hard to fault her recent efforts; assured stayer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Holly Hartingo has gone close on her last three outings and could be hard to keep out of the frame, while Princess Keri arrives in fine form having won three of her last four starts. However, the latter has a 14lb hike in the ratings to contend with, so the vote goes to GETAWAY THEATRE. Stuart Edmund's mare is only 1lb higher than when winning last year's renewal and another bold bid is anticipated with Sean Bowen taking over the reins.

This is trappy but preference is for LOVE OF NEYMORE, a C&D winner who has held her own in stronger races on her last two starts.

7/2(+13%) | (12) The Big Reveal 7/2, The yard won this race last year; fell in a handicap chase here last time when in contention and looking likeliest winner. Effective around 3m and acts on any; generally consistent and could make amends for his latest run up 6lb. In clear lead before penultimate-fence fall over C&D last month; up 6lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (9/2 +31%)Idefix De Ciergues |
9/2(+31%) | (7) Idefix De Ciergues 9/2, Travelled well and possibly challenged a bit early when fourth beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle here last time. Returns from a short break, is effective from 2m4f-3m and acts on any; consistent but needs more to win. C&D winner who has made the frame on all three hurdling starts this season; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (13/2 +0%)Eaton Anne |
13/2(+0%) | (5) Eaton Anne 13/2, Made mistakes, never travelled and may not have stayed when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Southwell last time. Returns from a short break, is effective over 2 1/2m and acts with cut, but has stamina to prove switched to chasing. 2-10 over hurdles; unexposed at around 3m; interesting on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

7/1(+30%) | (4) Latenightrumble 7/1, Ran to current form when well beaten in a handicap chase at Windsor last time. Effective at 3m and suited by cut, but his form has tailed off this year and he needs to show more to be competitive. Will appreciate this ease in grade but is yet to strike form after three runs this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (15/2 +25%)Lilting Verse |
15/2(+25%) | (2) Lilting Verse 15/2, Outpaced and never threatened when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Doncaster last time; had been in good form prior. Returns from a short break, is effective at 3m and acts on soft and good to soft; in fair form until her latest run. Ran well on seasonal debut but well held since and may prefer better ground than this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (15/2 +6%)No Tackle |
15/2(+6%) | (3) No Tackle 15/2, Scored by 5l off a 5lb lower mark at Lingfield three starts ago and ran to form at a favoured venue when second beaten 10l off 113 last time; on the same mark here. Effective from 2m6f-3m2f, suited by plenty of cut and acts on good; erratic but has a good Leicester record. In good form and finished runner-up at Leicester yesterday, but he had a tough race. |

(10) (12/1 +0%)Carrigeen Castle |
12/1(+0%) | (10) Carrigeen Castle 12/1, Travelled well but made a bad error at a key stage when closing, then flattened out and may not have stayed when fourth beaten 10l in a handicap chase at Catterick last time. Effective up to 2m4f and acts on soft; on his last winning mark but has stamina to prove. Shade disappointing last time but ran well before last-fence fall at Wetherby in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (14/1 -17%)Enjoy D'allen |
14/1(-17%) | (1) Enjoy D'allen 14/1, Scored by 26l off a 3lb lower mark at Fakenham on his penultimate start; stopped quickly up in class when 11th beaten 37l off 117 last time and is 2lb lower here. Effective from 2m4f-3m5f, acts on any; back in form and thrown in on old Irish form so holds a chance dropped in grade. Veteran who has twice made all at Fakenham this season; still well treated on old form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (14/1 +13%)Jasmin De Cotte |
14/1(+13%) | (6) Jasmin De Cotte 14/1, Needed the run on stable debut after a wind operation when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Haydock most recently. This is his second run after the wind op; effective from 2 1/2-3m and suited by decent ground, but inconsistent though well treated on old Irish form. Made low-key stable debut over hurdles and gained his only Irish win on good ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (14/1 +30%)Hurricane Highway |
14/1(+30%) | (8) Hurricane Highway 14/1, Outpaced and below form back down in trip when second beaten 24l in a handicap chase at Hereford last time. Effective around 2m4f with plenty of cut, but currently out of form and needs to rediscover his best. On dangerous mark and suited by slow ground but it's a good while since he ran to form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

IDEFIX DE CIERGUES wasn't disgraced when fourth in a more competitive handicap hurdle in December and Rebecca Curtis' charge looks worthy of another chance back over fences. Astronomic View bounced back with a close second at Ffos Las a fortnight ago and is not out of this, while Enjoy D'allen could also make his presence felt back in this lower grade.

Northern raider CARRIGEEN CASTLE ran well behind a big improver before his last-fence fall at Wetherby in November and gets the vote.

4/1(+11%) | (3) Harbour Light 4/1, Ran to form when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton most recently. Effective over 2m and acts on soft and good to soft. A likely improver now handicapping up in trip and may ideally want a stiffer track. (7) (4/1 +11%)Inion Tiogair |
4/1(+11%) | (7) Inion Tiogair 4/1, Ran to form when just beaten by a progressive, well-treated rival, finishing second beaten 12l in a handicap hurdle at Lingfield last time. Effective over 2 1/2m and suited by plenty of give in the ground. Inconsistent of late but likes the track. Good second here in November but far too inconsistent to rely upon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/2 +15%)Getaway Master |
11/2(+15%) | (1) Getaway Master 11/2, Scored by 4 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Carlisle three starts back; had too much to do when ridden to see out the trip, finishing seventh beaten 21l off 96 last time. Effective over 2m4f-3m and suited by plenty of cut; generally progressive for the new yard. Didn't see out 3m last time; claims if judged on ready 2m3f Carlisle win in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (13/2 +0%)Churchman |
13/2(+0%) | (10) Churchman 13/2, Travelled well and had every chance when running to form, finishing third beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Warwick on his most recent run. 28/1(+15%) | (8) Onehundredneighty 28/1, Made mistakes and never threatened when second, beaten 42l, in a maiden hurdle at Sedgefield last time. A longer trip should suit but he has plenty to find now handicapping. Showed no significant promise in three novice/maiden hurdles; handicap debut today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Not for the first time, MUMBLES didn't enjoy the switch to fences when pulling up at Ffos Las a fortnight ago but reverting to hurdles could prove fruitful. The eight-year-old boasts a wide-margin C&D victory and he looks just the type that could improve for first-time cheekpieces. Inion Tiogair is an obvious danger judged on her latest second behind a subsequent winner at Lingfield, while Getaway Master should appreciate dropping back in distance.

A few of these warrant consideration but the one with most potential is handicap debutant HARBOUR LIGHT (nap), who moves up in trip.

(3) (66/1 -32%)Hunting Percival |
66/1(-32%) | (3) Hunting Percival 66/1, Below form with no obvious excuse when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having made light work of her rivals at Huntingdon recently, it's difficult to look beyond DELTA BLUES BELLE. The six-year-old travelled sweetly upped markedly in distance that day and a 7lb penalty is unlikely to stop her progress. The most resistance may be served by the unexposed Walkinthepresent, who finished third on his handicap bow at Uttoxeter last month, ahead of Klic Boum.

Dan Skelton's DELTA BLUES BELLE won with an indeterminate amount in hand at Huntingdon last week and could still be very well treated.
Ths is the racecard key.
