SOI DAO produced a better effort when making the frame over a mile here last time and competes off an unchanged rating. With a similar performance, he could be the one to beat. Johnjay failed to supplement his Brighton success when fifth at Ffos Las last month, but might be worth another chance. Of the remainder, Dark Sun makes the most appeal.

Romanovich loves this C&D and is likely to go close but DARK SUN hasn't had many chances and can land a first success.

LADY LAUREN showed improvement when hitting the woodwork on her nursery debut at Ffos Las earlier in the month and could have more to offer. Ed de Giles' youngster looks to have found a suitable opportunity to record her first career success. Lexington Express sports first-time cheekpieces off an opening mark of 62, so she is one to watch out for. Dubai Time completes the shortlist.

A modest affair, unlike the nursery DUBAI TIME (nap) contested a fortnight ago, and she gets a firm seal of approval.

MAGIC STONE progressed from his introduction to fill the runner-up spot over track and trip last time and is likely to have plenty of improvement in him. With the William Haggas yard in fine form at present, he will prove hard to beat. 22,000gns purchase Sorted has plenty of speed in his pedigree and could have a say on debut, while Carefree Dream can fight it out for the minor honours.

This can go to MAGIC STONE who found lots of improvement when runner-up over C&D last month and sets a useful standard on that form.

ROACH POWER has to carry a 5lb penalty here after winning at Ffos Las and is due to go up the same amount when his new handicap mark comes into force, but that still seems fairly generous. Scoring by close to three lengths over this trip, he was sent to the front bright and early and came home an easy winner. Connie's Rose loves it here, winning six times, with four of those off lower marks, and she may hold off Savannah Smiles from the same stable in the fight for second place.

This will be fast and furious. ROACH POWER is sure to have competition for the lead but he might still follow up his win at Ffos Las.

Spirit Of The Bay battled on well to win by a head over further here last time out and although carrying a 4lb penalty, she is due to go up 5lb for future contests. She can go well once more, but HOSTELRY could be the one. Due to go up 2lb after this following a half-length second at Hamilton, she is a C&D winner with eight wins over a mile. Serious Look is another to consider, but only if he can transfer his better all-weather form to the turf.

This is highly competitive but HOSTELRY gets the vote ahead of Spirit Of The Bay and Sunny Corner.

FACT OR FABLE defeated Hawajes (second) in the corresponding event 12 months ago and on favourable terms he could repeat the dose. That being said, Scenario recorded a comfortable success in a similar contest at Lingfield latest and she must be respected. Too Much Trevor, who has been running well in defeat of late, should appreciate a drop in class.

It's worth having a stab at TIME AFTER TIME, who's been getting her act together of late and shapes like this return to 1m will suit.

It looks best to side with RACING DEMON, who went desperately close when second at Ffos Las recently. Ed de Giles' gelding remains well treated and compensation could await the son of Muhaarar. Harlington was another to rattle the crossbar at the South Wales venue last time and he is perhaps the main threat, while Baikal appeals most of the remainder.

A few to consider but MEET ME IN MERAKI was quite impressive in this race last year on his only course start.
Ths is the racecard key.
