Some good efforts in Graded races; shaped well over hurdles lto; trip suits, big chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 -20%)Gaoth Chuil |
4/1(-20%) | (3) Gaoth Chuil 4/1, Looked awkward but needed stiffer test when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Punchestown last time; off a short-break; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on any; unlucky to be a maiden over fences, needs more than of late. Useful hurdler last season; good chase debut in April; below form since but well capable. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (100/1 -400%)Party Dress |
100/1(-400%) | (6) Party Dress 100/1, Again ran to a poor level down the field in a handicap at Gowran Park most recent; effective 2m-2m4f; difficult to fancy on chase debut. Maiden hurdle winner; off 157 days since Flat run; chase debut; wants nicer ground. |

FANCY GIRL may be able to bounce back after a heavy fall on her chase debut at Thurles. The Champs Elysees mare had jumped well until getting things all wrong at the seventh fence. She was returning from a lengthy absence, after showing some smart form over timber, and is up to landing a race of this standard. Kilbarry Saint has the top mark of 125 and has to be respected. She ran a solid race when third in Grade 3 company over timber last time and has regularly shown up well in good races. Gaoth Chuil hasn't looked a natural over fences, but is a talented sort and also has to be on the shortlist.

On the pick of her form, KILBARRY SAINT has the winning of this based on her runner-up efforts behind Spindleberry and Only By Night.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|R| (8) (11/1 -69%)Lagoon Nebula |
11/1(-69%) | (8) Lagoon Nebula 11/1, Never threatened, ridden to see out the trip, when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham latest; returning from a break; effective around 2m on good; lots to prove on chase debut. Juvenile handicap winner at Chelt last year; chase debut; soft ground a concern. |

TELL US THIS has the benefit of chase experience and comes here off the back of a good run to finish runner-up at Thurles early last month. He chased home Quornofamonday in handicap company and is fancied to go one better. Lagoon Nebula is rated 109 over hurdles so this looks like an ideal starting point over fences and, with her mares' allowance, she could be nicely treated. Ciaran Murphy has his string in fine form and Soldante is one to note on his return from an absence.

Tramore maiden hurdle winner SOLDANTE should be thereabouts. He's off a long lay-off but his stable is in excellent form

1st (4) (9/2 -13%)Live To Laugh |
9/2(-13%) | (4) Live To Laugh 9/2, Did it easily, improved up in trip when landing a handicap by 13l off a 10lb lower mark at Thurles last time; effective 2m4f-3m with cut; progressive, more to come over fences now he's had his head in front. Won by a big margin at Thurles three weeks ago, a 10lb rise may prove too much. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (13) (9/2 +44%)Plain Or Battered |
9/2(+44%) | (13) Plain Or Battered 9/2, Raced lazily in reapplied blinkers but returned to form back over hurdles when 7l third in a handicap hurdle at Leopardstown most recent run; effective 3m; inconsistent but capable back chasing. Dropped in class after a stiff task at Navan in his first handicap chase, not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (33/1 -32%)Patsy's Pride |
33/1(-32%) | (12) Patsy's Pride 33/1, May not have stayed when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Naas latest; effective 2m-2m4f, acts with cut; needs more now chasing but could do better as a former point winner. Has been struggling in handicap hurdles, won a point last year, switch to chasing may help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (5/1 +0%)Nettuno Italia |
5/1(+0%) | (6) Nettuno Italia 5/1, Unsuited by drop in trip when fifth beaten 20l off 98 last time, same mark here; suited by around 3m with cut; progressing, looks thorough stayer and open to more progress now chasing. Won readily at Punchestown on penultimate start, record of beaten favouritism is a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (12/1 +14%)Cordal Boy |
12/1(+14%) | (10) Cordal Boy 12/1, Pulled up on deep ground in a handicap hurdle here latest; cheekpieces first time; effective 2m4f-2m7f with cut; inconsistent maiden but fences are new. Pulled up here four weeks ago after a good effort at Thurles, first time with cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (40/1 -100%)Love Like This |
40/1(-100%) | (11) Love Like This 40/1, Race came too soon when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Naas most recent; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on any; return to fences might suit. Out of form lately, has failed to win in 28 attempts hurdling, less exposed in this sphere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (14) (14/1 +44%)Zolpharine |
14/1(+44%) | (14) Zolpharine 14/1, Found ground too testing tried in a tongu-tie when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Limerick last time; effective up to 3m, needs sound surface; inconsistent, poor strike-rate. Only one win from 17 starts over hurdles, 0-20 over fences, hard to be confident. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (33/1 +0%)Seeitoldya |
33/1(+0%) | (5) Seeitoldya 33/1, Unseated just as race was developing in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse latest; effective 2m-2m5f, acts on good; generally consistent in short career but needs more now chasing. Was making no impression when unseating rider four out in a 2m4f hurdle on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (9) (25/1 -257%)Milanaway |
25/1(-257%) | (9) Milanaway 25/1, Taken on up front and did too much too soon when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Naas most recent; effective at around 3m; remains well treated on best form back chasing but unreliable. Not the most consistent mare but she stays well and has a definite chance on her best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (16/1 -33%)Ceroc |
16/1(-33%) | (3) Ceroc 16/1, Didn't stay tried in a tongue-tie when well beaten in a handicap chase at Leopardstown latest; trainer in form; effective 2m4f-3m, suited by positive handling and sound surface; in fair form until latest and drop in trip might help. Unplaced in three starts since second over 2m5f at this venue last October. |

BROWN BOOTS may be able to score again now back over fences. The Affinisea gelding was impressive in a handicap chase at Navan back in January before following up over hurdles here the following month. He was edged out in a tight finish at Naas last time and there may be scope for a bit more from him. Live To Laugh was an impressive winner at Thurles three weeks ago and bids to defy a 10lb hike. He looks like an obvious danger. The consistent Plain Or Battered, third behind the selection at Navan, could be place material again.

Despite a few untidy jumps BROWN BOOTS won with plenty to spare at the first attempt over fences and has run well over hurdles since

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (150/1 -275%)Shabra Diya |
150/1(-275%) | (11) Shabra Diya 150/1, Poor hurdles debut when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Newbury most recent; returning from a break; effective at 2m1f on good; hard to fancy. Couple of decent efforts in bumpers; struggled in soft ground, tailed off the last twice. |

BOEDIC has run well to be placed on his last two outings and may be able to make the breakthrough. It was a solid run to finish third to Court Compliance at Punchestown last month and a similar effort may be enough to get the job done. There isn't much between him and San Hilario according to the handicapper. Gordon Elliott's charge has picked up plenty of minor money, with his recent efforts coming over further. Hey Now shaped nicely on his debut in a Naas bumper in December and that form has worked out well. He's one to note on his hurdling bow.

It's worth chancing that Andy McNamara's Hey Now can improve past his rivals on hurdles debut

250/1(-279%) | (5) Lady Aquarelle 250/1, Again ran to moderate level down the field in a maiden hurdle here most recent; improvement needed. Down the field in two hurdle runs this year; down in trip; hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (300/1 -355%)Windy Grey |
300/1(-355%) | (12) Windy Grey 300/1, Poor debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Gowran Park only start; might need more time. Tailed off, showed little on hurdles debut lto; hard to make a case for. |

SOUND JUDGEMENT ran into a smart mare in Galileo Dame at Navan last month and this looks like an easier task. That was a much better effort, after pulling up on her previous outing at Fairyhouse, and she had a solid yardstick in Shadys Lady back in third. A similar run should be enough. Jury Belle showed improvement when fourth to Run For Mahler at Thurles back in October. She's been given a mark of 104 since and should be a contender after her break. Early Bird was outclassed in Grade 3 company, but the Tramore bumper winner could play a bigger role now.

This is calmer waters for EARLY BIRD after she found Grade 3 company too hot last time. She should go close

(12) (66/1 -500%)Lucky Crystal |
66/1(-500%) | (12) Lucky Crystal 66/1, Never in it from off the pace when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Thurles most recent; tongue-tie first time; hard to fancy on handicap debut. Tailed off in four races, transformation needed with tongue-tie fitted on handicap debut. |

UNCLE GERHARD has slipped to a nice mark and may be worth a shot here. The Jeremy gelding ran well last time at Gowran and was bang there when making a slight error at the last. It was a solid effort to finish fourth to Royal Soldier and, off 1lb lower, there is a race in him. Courtbrack Boy is an obvious contender after an easy success here last month. He went up 7lb for that victory in attritional conditions and there may be a bit more to come from the six-year-old. Loi Des Jeux didn't run too badly on his handicap debut at Punchestown in mid-January and could be a potential improver.

There could be more to come from COURTBRACK BOY who has got away with a 7lb win for an emphatic course win over a shorter trip

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (22/1 -100%)Boston Breeze |
22/1(-100%) | (10) Boston Breeze 22/1, Back to debut level when fourth beaten 37l in a maiden hurdle at Thurles latest; effective at 2m1f with lots of cut; could improve now handicapping. Step in the right direction when a remote fourth on third maiden outing, of some interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (22/1 +33%)Dark Lieutenant |
22/1(+33%) | (7) Dark Lieutenant 22/1, Again ran to a poor level down the field in a maiden hurdle at Gowran Park most recent; more needed to figure now handicapping. Two respectable bumper runs, two most recent of four hurdle outings offer no encouragement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (22/1 -144%)Live My Dream |
22/1(-144%) | (5) Live My Dream 22/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown latest; might do better now handicapping. Pulled up on latest, hard to fancy despite the fact that Darragh O'Keeffe sticks with him. |

(2) (33/1 -65%)Marlpark |
33/1(-65%) | (2) Marlpark 33/1, Made too much use of, may have found ground too testing when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Gowran Park most recent; effective 2m, acts on good; inconsistent. Weak form since a course maiden win in October 2024, not an obvious candidate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(14) (66/1 -560%)Strand Street Lass |
66/1(-560%) | (14) Strand Street Lass 66/1, Again ran to moderate level down the field in a maiden hurdle at Thurles most recent; improvement needed now handicapping. Mid-division at Thurles on third maiden run, Josh Williamson's claim is the main positive. |

(15) (66/1 -65%)The Cobblers Wife |
66/1(-65%) | (15) The Cobblers Wife 66/1, Continued in poor form down the field in a handicap hurdle at Naas most recent; yet to show anything and up against it. Weak maiden form, no sign of winning potential in two handicap starts, 100-1 both times. |

ODE TO JOY kept on nicely on her handicap debut at Naas earlier in the month and may be able to strike now. The six-year-old came from the rear when finishing fourth to Rathbawn Soldier and going up slightly in trip should benefit her. Spellacy's Cross returns from a little break and looks well-in compared to his chase mark, which is 18lb higher. He has to be respected, particularly as he won twice at this course in the autumn. Opposite Ends was a solid third behind easy winner Courtbrack Boy here last month and is another who has to come into calculations.

In view of his status as a dual course winner over fences, SPELLACY'S CROSS (nap) is appealing off his 18lb lower hurdles mark

(6) (2/1 -45%)Scarecrow |
2/1(-45%) | (6) Scarecrow 2/1, Walk In The Park gelding; half-brother to Getabird, useful at 2m4f; tongue-tied on debut and is sure to prove popular for top trainer who does well in bumpers. Half-brother to the talented Getabird, tongue-tie for debut, almost sure to be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (13/2 0%)Tadhg's Rock |
13/2(0%) | (7) Tadhg's Rock 13/2, Not clear run on promising bumper debut beaten 9l in a bumper at Thurles last time; returning from long layoff; effective 2m, acts on good; should improve for initial experience but might need this. Solid effort in a Thurles bumper just over a year ago, could go well if fitness holds up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/1 +89%)Ballydiamond |
9/1(+89%) | (1) Ballydiamond 9/1, Failed to complete in either point; hard to recommend on rules debut but no obstacles to negotiate this time. Unseated at the first in two point-to-point appearances, not a betting proposition. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (10/1 -122%)Brickfield Belle |
10/1(-122%) | (8) Brickfield Belle 10/1, Promising enough debut at big odds well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Naas; effective at 2m on heavy; possible improver now in a bumper. Remote but satisfactory fifth on debut in a maiden hurdle at Naas, likely to improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (25/1 -79%)Facile Ocean |
25/1(-79%) | (4) Facile Ocean 25/1, Weak in the betting, below debut form when down the field in a 4yo bumper at Ballinrobe most recent; returning from long layoff; effective at 2m on soft; improvement needed. Raced too keenly in two outings last season, favourite on debut, best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (28/1 +15%)Ballydine Boy |
28/1(+15%) | (2) Ballydine Boy 28/1, Improved to get off the mark (dead-heated) in a maiden point at Belclare latest; effective at 3m in points; brings potential to rules. Has a staying pedigree, dead-heated in a recent point, may find this trip a bit sharp. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (250/1 -658%)Go On Ta |
250/1(-658%) | (5) Go On Ta 250/1, Altruistic gelding; dam pulled up in a bumper and related to a point winner; makes no appeal on debut. Makes belated debut at seven for yard with 0-25 bumper record over the last five seasons. |

SCARECROW is a interesting runner on his debut for Willie Mullins. The Walk In The Park gelding is a half-brother to Getabird, who had such a big reputation early in his career and ended up winning twice at Grade 2 level. Detroit Maverick sets the standard having been runner-up in two bumpers already. The Flemensfirth gelding has been beaten by two Mullins horses on both track starts to date and connections will be hoping to make it third-time lucky. Point-to-point winner Ballydine Boy is one to note in the market on his racecourse bow.

Second to a Willie Mullins-trained rival in two bumpers, DETROIT MAVERICK can make his experience count over Maverick
Ths is the racecard key.
