KISS WILL debuts for top connections having shown good form in a smart French bumper in September 2023 and should be ready for today's reappearance. Runner-up at Fontainebleau on debut, that race's winner subsequently finished second at Grade 1 level while the third-placed horse was placed at Grade 3 level afterwards. The selection sold to current connections for 280,000 euros that same September and while he returns following 478 days off, is just a five-year-old and is likely to have been given time to mature. Bacchanalian has useful recent form, which will help his cause, but is vulnerable to smart types while point-to-point winner Pure Steel ran ok on his hurdling debut here in December but should struggle to win.

It's taken connections of KISS WILL a while to get him to the track following his expensive purchase in 2023 but he couldn't be in better hands so a winning hurdles debut may well be on the cards. Bacchanalian sets a pretty good standard, with Pure Steel a potential improver.

Costly French import KISS WILL has been given plenty of time. He may be too strong for the recent Limerick runner-up Bacchanalian

CASHELDALE LAD is the least experienced runner but is undefeated so far and is open to more progression. He produced a smart effort to win at Punchestown last September, with the runner-up subsequently attaining a Flat rated 96, and while the form of his later Gowran hurdle win was nothing special, he scored quite usefully and can better this 0-125 grade. Frankendael was himself a Listed hurdle winner last September and while well held in a similar race last month, is battle-hardened and suited by conditions. A Tipp For Gold won a maiden hurdle at this distance in September but might ideally prefer further and debuts for new connections wearing a first-time hood.

CASHELDALE LAD was by no means foot-perfect when making a successful hurdling debut at Gowran in November, but he still did it easily and is open to plenty of improvement, so is taken to maintain his unbeaten record. A Tipp For Gold and Frankendael are a pair of credible rivals, though.

Winner of his only Flat start in 2023, CASHELDALE LAD can build on his Gowran success which was achieved after a lengthy absence

JUMP ALLEN showed only mild promise in last month's hurdling debut but stepping up in distance and dropping to this lesser maiden will help. The selection defeated a subsequent dual hurdle winner to score on bumper debut last May and while he was very one-paced on his Clonmel hurdling debut, that was a better race and today's extra yardage should suit. The Story So Far ran two consistent races last month and his form since winning a Limerick Christmas bumper in 2023 is largely unexciting, he stays well and likes soft ground so should give the selection a race. Work Place caught the Galway stewards' attentions in October but was tailed off over Christmas.

A potential match between JUMP ALLEN and The Story So Far, the former taken to find the required improvement.

The bar is lowered here for JUMP ALLEN, a bumper winner who was the stable's second string on his first run over hurdles

AD CAELUM makes a quick reappearance following a busy Christmas but her rating continues to gradually rise skywards and she is suited by today's conditions. The selection has been performing consistently well in recent months and while she is 8lb higher than when winning at Limerick only six days ago, is ideally suited by this distance and soft ground. Flat winner Folly Beach was well held in a Listed hurdle over 2m last month but had previously been running well in handicaps, so should compete. September chase winner Deons Diamond was pulled up in her latest hurdle run in November but ran satisfactorily at Fairyhouse last month and has place claims.

FOLLY BEACH has good claims returning to handicap company on the pick of her form, so she's put forward as the answer. Deons Diamond is entitled to come on for her reappearance and merits respect back over hurdles, with last-time-out scorer Ad Caelum also feared.

It could pay to side with DEONS DIAMOND (nap), who made a pleasing return over fences at Fairyhouse after a year off

MIGHTY OAK LAD is perfectly suited by these race conditions and has good recent form. The selection landed a gamble to win on New Year's Day 2024 and while he failed to win since, finished third in a useful handicap chase at Navan last month and drops markedly in grade on suitably soft ground today. Rightfolksplease is rated 101 and has recent form but would prefer a sound surface and has done almost all his racing over two miles. John The Diva ran well in a similar race on his chase debut at Tramore in November (The Miracle Man finished seventh) and can get involved. Jap Pee M was an unlucky point-to-point loser last month and had prior hurdles form.

Not as competitive as the numbers suggest and MIGHTY OAK LAD looks to have been found a good opportunity to build on his excellent recent Navan third and get off the mark in this sphere. In-form duo John The Diva and Rightfolksplease appeal as the pick of the remainder and can chase home Karl Thornton's 7-y-o in that order.

A chance is taken on JAY PEE M, who would have won a Boulta point-to-point readily but for a fall at the final fence last month

A chance is taken that PRINCE ZALTAR will be ready following over a year off, as he is well handicapped in this sphere. A three-time winner and runner-up in an Aintree hurdle when rated 121 last December, he has competed in just two career chases but finished a good second on his latest effort and represents a yard which is doing well. Optional Mix has failed to capitalise on a lower hurdle rating in recent times but is better over fences. She won her previous chase race in June and today's rider claims 7lb. Five-time winner Where's Frankie is much better than he showed over hurdles at Navan last month but nonetheless would prefer further than today's distance.

PRINCE ZALTAR is very well handicapped on hurdling form and this is a decidedly weak contest in which few arrive in form, so he's worth taking a chance on despite returning from an absence of 13 months. Optional Mix can make her presence felt if bouncing back from a poor run and market support for Secret She Keeps would look significant.

STREET VALUE won this race in 2022, is back down to his last winning mark and has an exceptional record in January

QUEEN'S MEADOW represents a yard with an excellent recent record. A stablemate won a recent Leopardstown bumper while another attained a Christmas Grade 1 hurdle place, and with Queen's Meadow being a sister to a Nicky Henderson-trained once-raced bumper winner, she could have useful ability. Introversio represents Willie Mullins and she too could be smart. By the same sire as King Of Kingsfield, both Introversio's siblings have already won including smart recent winner Honky Tonk Highway. There are quite a few smart bumper performers in Gers Shadow's pedigree, while Dancing Dame has shown some form but will struggle to win.

INTROVERSIO is with a top handler and is related to a bumper winner, so she's an obvious choice to make a successful start in what looks a thin mares' event on paper. Queen's Mead also makes some appeal on pedigree and Dancing Dame should give her running back down in grade.

INTROVERSIO has a nice-looking profile and the Willie Mullins-trained mare should take all the beating in a winnable race
