MINO DES MOTTES was well beaten in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham, but had previously shown nice form and now contests an ordinary maiden with Harry Cobden doing the steering. An AQPS bumper winner, he is no star but finished second in a useful maiden in February and a tongue-tie, which he previously wore when scoring in France, is reapplied. Hygge has also shown form and has solid place claims, while Bartholomew showed promise on his December jumps debut and now wears a first-time tongue-tie.

Willie Mullins' MINO DES MOTTES (nap) looks the one to be on here based on his runner up effort behind Too Bossy For Us at Punchestown

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (15/2 +6%)Soir De Garde |
15/2(+6%) | (2) Soir De Garde 15/2, Yard has won 2 of last 5 runnings of race; improved from debut, huge effort back from lay off when second beaten 21l in the QuinnBet Hurdle at Leopardstown latest; effective at 2m on soft and yielding; looks very useful, should come on for latest. Tramore maiden winner, well behind El Fabiolo latest, Absurde looks yard's main hope. |

ABSURDE disappointed at Cheltenham, but had excuses and might just get the better of Galway Hurdle winner Ndaawi to score. Willie Mullins' eight-year-old has contested three Melbourne Cups and won the 2024 County Hurdle and while he struggled in the recent renewal at Cheltenham, he raced too keenly and erred at the opening flights. He will benefit from that reintroduction to hurdling and should settle better. Absurde and Ndaawi finished third and second respectively in the 2025 County Hurdle and although Ndaawi was also down the field at the Festival last month, just 1lb separates him and the selection on official ratings. The lightly-raced Soir De Garde might finish third.

ABSURDE finished well behind Ndaawi at Cheltenham but he lacked a recent run that day and he may be able to turn the tables

KIMI DE MAI finished third in an ultra-competitive handicap at the Dublin Racing Festival in February and should get off the mark over hurdles here. A three-time French bumper winner, she has been slightly frustrating to follow since joining Willie Mullins, but has bumped into some capable types and a reproduction of her Leopardstown effort would see her take all the beating. Crystal Gold has some useful form and can finish second, while Courtmac Gesture has also been running quite well.

Rated 121, Kimi De Mai sets the standard but all her best form is on testing ground so she is taken on with TOUNTINNA.

SAINTE LUCIE met trouble at Cheltenham and drops in grade. The five-year-old had been well held in handicaps prior to last month's Martin Pipe, but performed better than her seventh-placing as she raced wide and got stopped more than once in the home straight. She has finished ahead of unexposed stablemate Larzac before and her rider is able to utilise his 5lb claim today. Larzac disappointed in a race which is working out nicely in December, but debuts in handicaps. Coyote Spirit is another to note.

Having returned to form and been unlucky not to have finished closer in the Martin Pipe Hurdle at Cheltenham, SAINTE LUCIE can score.

Won off 7lb lower in Sept' 2023, off since heavy chase defeat last July, may need this. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (14) (33/1 -50%)Committee Meeting |
33/1(-50%) | (14) Committee Meeting 33/1, Below form, needed run, never put into the race well beaten in a beginners chase chase at Tipperary latest; returning from long layoff; usually held up; effective 2 1/2m, suited by decent ground; likely to do better in handicaps. Mild promise in maidens, yet to fire in handicaps, needs to improve for step up to 3m. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (33/1 -83%)Thegraveyardbookie |
33/1(-83%) | (9) Thegraveyardbookie 33/1, Fell in a handicap chase at Killarney latest; returning from long layoff; effective 2 1/2m-3m, suited by cut; inconsistent and on stiff mark for return. On long losing run, fell in a chase when last seen in May 2025, likely best watched. |

ONLYMAMMYCANLOVEME won a course handicap last month and might defy a 7lb hike in an open handicap. A point-to-point winner, the top-weight is now an able handicapper and although his rider is without his previous 3lb claim now, the seven-year-old should be suited by going back up in distance and he likes easy ground. Toor Khov finished second, a place ahead of Jeriko De Baune, here recently and both have obvious claims, while One And Only is 6lb higher than when scoring at Limerick last month. The veteran West Cork Wildway reverts from fences.

TOOR KHOV shaped nicely on his return to hurdling when runner up over C&D on latest and he is narrowly preferred off 1lb higher

13/2(+41%) | (4) Broomfield Bijou 13/2, Every chance, race may have come too soon down the field in QuinnBet Handicap Chase (Listed) at Leopardstown most recent; effective 2m-2m5f, acts on soft and good; inconsistent and big stamina concerns. 13/8(-184%) | (1) Classic Getaway 13/8, Yard won this last three runnings of race; ran to form allowed to dominate 8l third in Red Mills Chase (Grade 2) at Gowran Park most recent run; off a short-break; effective 2 1/2m, acts on soft, good; unreliable Graded winner, likes to have own way, the clear form pick here. Grade 2 winner has to give away plenty of weight but is still the one to beat. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

NOWWHATDOYOUTHINK is progressive and receives 12lb from top-weight Classic Getaway. The Ray Hackett-trained seven-year-old has notched wins in a point-to-point, bumper, maiden hurdle and beginners chase and ran well to finish second in a Grade 3 at Thurles. In that smart contest, the well-supported Jalila Moriviere finished third and Soldier In Milan was a notable fourth. Classic Getaway is a quality performer on his day, but was flattered by his proximity to winner Impaire Et Passe in the Red Mills Chase at Gowran as that race was slowly run. Dublin National winner Promontory has a little to find on ratings.

Willie Mullins has won the last four runnings of this and looks set to bring up the five-timer with CLASSIC GETAWAY

3rd (5) (50/1 -150%)Scalpnagoon |
50/1(-150%) | (5) Scalpnagoon 50/1, Below form on chase debut comfortably held in a beginners chase chase at Thurles last time; tongue-tie first time; off a short-break; effective at around 2 1/2m, decent ground suits; out of form this term. Poor on chasing debut at Thurles in February; not easy to fancy and a tongue-tie added. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 +50%)Ocastle Des Mottes |
9/2(+50%) | (4) Ocastle Des Mottes 9/2, Yard won this last year; below form, failed to build on debut comfortably held in a beginners chase chase at Gowran Park last time; off a long absence; effective 2 1/4-2 1/2m, acts with cut; more to come judged on French form. Some good runs in defeat including on chase debut last term; yard second-string. |

6th (6) (150/1 -88%)The Burrow |
150/1(-88%) | (6) The Burrow 150/1, Mistakes, ran to form comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan last time; returning from long layoff; effective 2-3m; point winner but plenty more needed to figure. Hint of ability in 3 maiden hurdles and a chase; can only be watched back from an absence. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (200/1 -33%)Major Wells |
200/1(-33%) | (2) Major Wells 200/1, Unseated in a beginners chase chase at Thurles latest; off a short-break; yet to deliver on bumper promise after lay off. Hint of ability in bumpers; poor in 2 hurdles; unseated on chasing debut; look elsewhere. |

WINGMEN was well held at Cheltenham, but had previously bumped into some high-class rivals and is capable. Twice placed at Grade 1 level over hurdles, the eight-year-old finished behind high achievers Final Demand, Predators Gold and Kaid d'Authie in beginners chases and while slightly disappointing in a big-field handicap at Cheltenham, he is generally dependable. Principal rival Funiculi Funicula was himself Grade 1-placed last April and while he has run well in beginners chases, he finished a little further behind Final Demand than the selection last May. Ocastle Des Mottes and Mister Pink are long absent.

This looks to be a match between FUNICULI FUNICULA and Wingmen, preference is for the former who may be better suited to this trip

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (12) (11/2 +66%)Ludus Magnus |
11/2(+66%) | (12) Ludus Magnus 11/2, Improved for debut experience when fourth beaten 22l in a bumper at Naas latest; effective 2m; should come on for latest. Soundly beaten in bumpers at Punchestown and Naas; this is less competitive but needs more. |

|PU| (13) (80/1 +0%)Oh The Darsi Boy |
80/1(+0%) | (13) Oh The Darsi Boy 80/1, Darsi gelding; hood first time; dam a point winner; yard better known for exploits in that sphere. Sire is capable of getting useful winners; hood on for debut; best watched. |

HARRY'S DIAMOND makes a belated debut aged six, but has a fine pedigree and represents Willie Mullins. Closely related to three black-type performers, she is from a quirky but talented family who often tend to race keenly and she will be ready for her debut. Lemmy Caution was well held at Fairyhouse but has nice ability, while the ex-Ted Walsh inmate Ellis Redding defeated a current stablemate and recent hurdle winner to land a Punchestown point-to-point in February. Too Hot To Trot finished second for Ciaran Fennessy on his November pointing debut and has joined leading connections.

Not a particularly strong bumper and HARRY'S DIAMOND may be good enough to win on debut. The market will be informative about her.
Ths is the racecard key.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
