15/8(+100%) | (7) Slaney View 15/8, Well backed, but green and runner-up beaten 4l in a maiden at Curragh only start; sets decent standard in field of largely unraced quite well bred rivals 13-8 when second at the Curragh and probably bumped into a very good horse. |

22/1(-83%) | (8) Star Reign 22/1, 3,000 euros Starman filly; half-sister to Kraken Power, very useful at 5f; dam poor at 7f at 2yo; looks cheap purchase Plenty of speed in her pedigree and dam a half-sister to top sprinter Kyllachy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (50/1 -100%)Salacious |
50/1(-100%) | (6) Salacious 50/1, 15,000 euros Elzaam filly; half-sister to Ardenode, very smart at 5f; dam very useful at 5f at 2yo Bred to be sharp but yard not renowned for 2yo winners. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (125/1 -89%)Venerated |
125/1(-89%) | (10) Venerated 125/1, Bit keen and well beaten in a maiden at Curragh only start; probably needs quite a bit more to figure here Weak 25-1 chance when finishing last at the Curragh three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (8/1 +50%)Itsnotme |
8/1(+50%) | (2) Itsnotme 8/1, Nando Parrado filly; half-sister to Tropical Air, useful at 6f; dam moderate, but half-sister to Group 1 winner Aesop's Fables Fifth foal; half-sister to 7f 2yo AW/KSA 6f winner Tropical Air (RPR 76). |

SLANEY VIEW showed nice ability in finishing second on her debut in the season's opening race at the Curragh last month and can put that experience to good use. By a leading stallion, the selection is a half-sister to two capable winners and having been well supported when running well on her introduction, she could improve on a sounder surface. Mina Bonita's dam was a Group 3 winner who has already produced five winners, including one at Listed level, and she could be useful. Portmagee Girl's winning dam is from a fine Juddmonte family so has to enter the equation too.

Jim Bolger's SLANEY VIEW has the benefit of experience and she probably bumped into a smart one at the Curragh.

11/10(+41%) | (2) Bodhi Bear 11/10, Progressive at two rounding off with a win at Navan over 6f by 2l; back in trip, but is quite speedy and looks the one to beat 6f maiden winner on yielding, has form over 7f on good, drop to 5f should be ok, chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/2 +65%)Town And Country |
7/2(+65%) | (3) Town And Country 7/2, Probably outclassed beaten 8l in Firth Of Clyde (Group 3) over 6f at Ayr final start of 2024, but good maiden win at Navan prior to that; top course jockey; back to best trip and contender Navan maiden winner at 5f, outclassed in Gr 3 at Ayr over 6f, this C&D may not suit, watch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (12/1 -100%)Likedbymike |
12/1(-100%) | (1) Likedbymike 12/1, Ideally suited by drop back to 5f when won a maiden here by 4 1/4l last time; very progressive in three starts as a juvenile and open to further improvement Beat Passing Phase by 4.25l over C&D in Oct, jockey's claim useful, chance if fit. |

4th (6) (8/1 +11%)Smoke Them Out |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (18/1 +0%)Billie Be Quick |
18/1(+0%) | (9) Billie Be Quick 18/1, Well backed when won a nursery at Down Royal by 1 1/4l final start of 2024 after solid campaign; steadily progressive, but probably bit to find here Won a 5f Down Royal handicap off 70 when last seen, Foley jumps ship, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (10/1 +38%)Ohmyviette |
10/1(+38%) | (8) Ohmyviette 10/1, Couple of wins on the AW, latterly by a neck in February; too keen when below that form last time; probably has a bit to find, but does have fitness edge on most of these 2-6 on the AW, has won over 5f and 6f, beaten off 88 on h'cap bow, watch on turf debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (8/1 +33%)Turners Cross |
8/1(+33%) | (4) Turners Cross 8/1, Ran to form second beaten a neck in a maiden at Navan (5f) final start of 2024 season; minimum trip suits and generally consistent at two; chance 0-5, highly tried last season, placed in two 5f Navan maidens, Foley prefers stablemate. |

The speedily-bred UNEXPECTED ISSUES looks fairly treated with a rating of 84. The sister to Castle Star notably defeated a subsequent Group 3 winner to score on debut at Navan last May and while well held afterwards, she contested two hot stakes races. The runner-up in the first of those went on to score at Group 1 level and while she disappointed over 7f at Leopardstown in September, Fozzy Stack's filly might not have stayed and drops in grade now. Likedbymike comfortably won a C&D maiden in October and although considerably worse off at the weights with that race's runner-up Passing Phase, should nonetheless compete.

Likedbymike beat PASSING PHASE over C&D last October but the runner up is much better off at the weights and has a fitness edge

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (40/1 +0%)Far Above Dream |
40/1(+0%) | (3) Far Above Dream 40/1, 200/1 when beaten only 4l in a maiden over 6f at The Curragh last time; that was a massive improvement on a modest debut dropped from 7f; this is a further drop in trip; fit and contender Big prices but not disgraced in two runs last year at 7f and 6f, probably one for h'caps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (66/1 -164%)Viamonte |
66/1(-164%) | (1) Viamonte 66/1, Ran to form 3/4l third in a maiden at Dundalk most recent run; steadily progressive on the AW this winter, but plenty more needed here Rated 67 after three AW runs, best run a 0.75l third at 5f, should act on turf, needs more. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (10/1 -11%)Mini Mai |
10/1(-11%) | (10) Mini Mai 10/1, Mehmas filly; dam very useful at 6f at 2yo; top course trainer, yard in good form and one of two representatives; market will guide as to chances Mehmas filly, dam from a decent family, Keane prefers her stablemate, best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (10/3 +39%)Bobbi Rosa |
10/3(+39%) | (8) Bobbi Rosa 10/3, Form has been a bit in and out, racing too freely on occasions; best judged on 1/2l second at Dundalk (5f) penultimate start; can figure if favourite misfires and settles 0-6 overall, 0-3 on turf and rated 78, ran well over C&D last August, can't discount. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (250/1 -400%)Pinmoney |
250/1(-400%) | (7) Pinmoney 250/1, Couple of moderate efforts, latterly down the field in a maiden over 7f at Naas most recent; back in trip; all to do Well beaten at 200-1 on debut for this yard at Naas, drops in trip, may need more time. |

SARATOGA SPECIAL has proven expensive to follow, but contests a winnable maiden on her reappearance. All her runs have come at this distance and she notably finished second at Listed level last August. She was subsequently beaten at odds-on in a Navan maiden and while she again disappointed at Dundalk, she nonetheless showed ability in both runs. The keen-going Bobbi Rosa is herself a 5f specialist but while she should run her usual honest race on her reappearance, she might struggle to beat an on-song selection. Morally Sound rates the pick of the newcomers.

It is hard to get away from the claims of the 93 rated SARATOGA SPECIAL (nap) who has placed Listed form over this trip in the book.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

EASY won last year's renewal and, being lightly raced, it is encouraging that she returns to training. A smart performer with a big frame, she quickened well to win on heavy ground a little over 12 months ago and although beaten on her sole subsequent start at Longchamp in June, will have been readied for her comeback. Vespertilio has twice been placed at Group 1 level and while she is dependable and ground-versatile, makes her seasonal reappearance over a distance which is shorter than ideal. Chicago Critic would also prefer further, while King Cuan is suited by conditions but is long absent.

A chance is taken on ONE SMACK MAC whose best form is at 6f on good and he has had a sharpener on unsuitable ground at Naas.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

ELIZABETH JANE won a Listed race on her last run of 2024 and reappears over a suitable distance. From a top Moyglare family, she finished fourth in the Irish Oaks and, being suited by easy ground, this is the starting point for what is likely to be a busy spring campaign. Comic Book stays well and finished second at Group 3 level last September, but she was beaten five lengths by the winner and lacks a little of the selection's ability. Bubble Gum, who was sixth in the French Oaks and attained a Listed placing in September, debuts for new connections and possibly needs easy ground.

Dermot Weld has been amongst the winners and this looks a good opportunity for last year's Irish Oaks fourth ELIZABETH JANE

40/1(-122%) | (9) School Of Athens 40/1, Below par beaten 9l in an auction race at Dundalk last time; returning from a break and little really measurable form; hard to fancy Modest thus far but in good hands and should be more competitive in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (16/1 -14%)Grand Dante |
16/1(-14%) | (6) Grand Dante 16/1, Appeared not to stay 7f beaten 9l in a maiden at Dundalk last time; tongue-tie first time; fair efforts first two starts, likely has something to find Shown ability and gelded ahead of this handicap debut; could be interesting. |

First time out this season might be the best time to catch RION RUBETTE. Runner-up on her racecourse debut at Navan, the Michael Butler-trained filly followed that up with a similar effort at Naas on her next appearance. Although unable to match those performances in three subsequent starts, she was highly tried in Listed class on one of those occasions. Bred to appreciate this step up in trip, she is interesting on her handicap debut. Unique Journey has to be of interest under Colin Keane. Third on his seasonal reappearance at Naas last month, the Danny Murphy-trained gelding proved his stamina for this distance when runner-up at Galway in October. Iceford is another worthy of consideration.

A good few in here look open to further improvement on their handicap debuts and ICEFORD falls into that category.

11th (12) (80/1 -21%)Shahada Ace |
80/1(-21%) | (12) Shahada Ace 80/1, £7,500 Waldgeist filly; dam useful at 7f, half-sister to Mr Excellency, winner from 7 to 1m2f including as 2yo; looks cheap purchase £7,500 yearling; first foal; dam placed 6f/7f (RPR 68); wouldn't be the obvious answer. |

With the Dermot Weld string having made an encouraging start to the campaign, BELLA ISABELLA is taken to open her account. Having run very green on her racecourse debut at Leopardstown in October, the filly showed the benefit of that experience when runner-up at Dundalk in February. Well drawn here, the daughter of Wootton Bassett can make the most of that advantage. Newcomer Sapphire Princess has to be of interest for the Ger Lyons stable. Her trainer introduced a couple of smart debutants at this venue last season so it would be no surprise to see this filly run a big race. The experienced Temperance is another to note.

It might pay to risk one of the newcomers and SAPPHIRE PRINCESS is bred to be decidedly useful. Mittens has a Classic entry.
Ths is the racecard key.
