The market is going to be very revealing ahead of this juvenile maiden. Aidan O'Brien takes the wraps off three horses and the pick of them looks to be CIRCLE OF LIFE. This Dubawi colt is a full-brother to a Group 3-winning French Oaks runner-up and has a clutch of big-race entries, including two at the highest level. His stablemate Ice Dancer is related to an Irish Derby runner-up and should have a bright future. Shadow Run catches the eye as a full-brother to a Group 2 winner and holds an entry at that level in the Mill Reef. Joseph O'Brien is also well represented and his American Pharoah colt Nil Bua Gan Dua has a Group 2 option at Newmarket.

All newcomers, a token vote going to CIRCLE OF LIFE, who holds a National Stakes entry

1st (13) (50/1 -25%)Cash Me |
50/1(-25%) | (13) Cash Me 50/1, Made too much use of, needed the run when down the field in an 8f maiden at Naas last time. Wide draw; effective at 7f on AW, probably does not stay 1m. Well held on yard debut earlier this month at Naas; back in trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (14) (6/4 +50%)Glory To Be |
6/4(+50%) | (14) Glory To Be 6/4, Improved slightly back up in trip when 2l third in a Cork maiden last time. Steadily progressive, effective over 5f to 6f on good and good to firm, and can win a maiden. Recent Cork third gives her place claims again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (2/1 +11%)Washington Street |
2/1(+11%) | (10) Washington Street 2/1, Made too much use of, below form on quicker ground when down the field in a Cork maiden last time. Had been in good form prior. Wide draw, suited by positive handling, and can bounce back. Should be winning soon. Quick ground may not have suited at Cork; big chance on earlier form at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (22/1 -83%)Cecco |
22/1(-83%) | (7) Cecco 22/1, Below form back up in trip when beaten 6 1/4l in a 7f handicap at Naas last time. Usually consistent, wears blinkers for the first time, and effective from 6f to 8f. Didn't count on recent comeback run in Naas handicap; blinkers tried. |

66/1(-450%) | (6) Cali Case 66/1, Improved a little from debut when beaten 8l in a 5f maiden at Dundalk last time. Returning from a long layoff with a wide draw. Pedigree suggests quick ground will suit on turf. Well held in both maidens late last year; likely to be of more interest in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (20/1 +60%)Arklow Lad |
20/1(+60%) | (4) Arklow Lad 20/1, Green early, modest debut when well beaten in a 7f maiden at Galway only start. Should come on for the experience, and speed in the pedigree suggests the drop to 6f may help. Didn't run too badly on Galway debut last month, having raced wide; still hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (9/1 +0%)Desert Power |
9/1(+0%) | (2) Desert Power 9/1, Yard has won two of the last five runnings; needed the run when down the field in a 5f handicap here most recently. Generally out of form but should improve for the reappearance, and can progress for a yard that excels with sprinters. No show on recent comeback run here in handicap; maiden form last year gives him claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (40/1 +20%)Bluebelardo |
40/1(+20%) | (12) Bluebelardo 40/1, Never competitive having blown the start and met trouble when beaten 5l in a 7f handicap at Naas last time. Looks flattered by 2yo form and out of form in 2025. Just okay handicap form of late, hard to see her having a major impact back in a maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (16) (12/1 +25%)Yutori |
12/1(+25%) | (16) Yutori 12/1, 38,000gns Acclamation filly; full-sister to Bimble, smart at 6f. Dam was fair at 7f. Wide draw. Sister to a 6f winner; locally-trained newcomer worth a market watch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (100/1 -100%)Java Wood |
100/1(-100%) | (3) Java Wood 100/1, Green but finished well when the penny dropped, modest debut when well beaten in a 7f maiden at Dundalk only start. Should improve for initial experience but has plenty to find. Mild debut promise on belated debut 8 days ago at Dundalk; may need more time though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (16/1 +76%)Bennu |
16/1(+76%) | (1) Bennu 16/1, Probably needed the run when well beaten in a maiden here on only start; absent for a very lengthy period and hard to recommend. Well held on debut here over two years ago; can only be watched on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (16/1 +0%)Be Good Or Begone |
16/1(+0%) | (11) Be Good Or Begone 16/1, Far Above filly; dam was moderate over 8f at 2yo; yard has had recent 2yo winner; watch betting. Nothing to appealing on breeding but market best guide on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

40/1(-122%) | (9) Snowballs 40/1, Bungle Inthejungle gelding; full-brother to Loveday, very smart at 5f as a 2yo. Dam very useful at 5f at 2yo. Faces a tough enough task on debut. Related to several winner at around this trip but may need this debut run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (5) (22/1 -120%)Astute Power |
22/1(-120%) | (5) Astute Power 22/1, Yard has won two of the last five runnings. 11,000 euros Profitable gelding; half-brother to Major Power, very useful from 6f to 7f. Dam useful at 7f. Trainer and yard both in good form. Half-brother to 6f/7f winner Major Power; one of two for the owner/trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (15) (66/1 -32%)Mise Freisin |
66/1(-32%) | (15) Mise Freisin 66/1, Green and never threatened on debut when well beaten in a maiden here only start. Off a short break and likely to need more time. Never counted when soundly beaten on C&D debut in late June; can only be watched for now. |

GLORY TO BE attracted plenty of support in Cork and ran a pleasing race in third. That was her first start since switching to Michael Grassick and the form received a boost when the runner-up came out and landed a Tipperary maiden. Washington Street put together a sequence of three runner-up finishes in a row before underperforming at Cork. He holds Men Of Honour (second and fifth respectively) on their meeting over C&D at the end of June and could bounce back to form. Snowballs has winners in his pedigree and this newcomer could show up well for Willie McCreery, while Desert Power is entitled to come on from last month's first run back following a long absence.

An ordinary maiden and worth giving another chance to WASHINGTON STREET (nap), who may have found the ground too quick at Cork

1st (6) (11/2 -10%)It's A Heartbeat |
11/2(-10%) | (6) It's A Heartbeat 11/2, Travelled well and improved for debut experience when stepped up in trip to win a maiden here by 2 1/2l last time. Returns after a short break; progressive with more to come. Absent since C&D maiden in June; type to keep progressing but opening mark looks high. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/2 +0%)Shaool |
5/2(+0%) | (1) Shaool 5/2, Improved when dropped in trip and grade in first-time cheekpieces to justify strong support, scoring by 4 1/2l off 73 over 9f at Leopardstown three starts ago. Trainer in form; suited by give and effective from 8-12f; consistent. Top-weight respected but probably wants it softer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (9/2 +36%)Fortuna Vera |
9/2(+36%) | (9) Fortuna Vera 9/2, Yard has won 2 of the last 9 renewals of this race. A bit too keen up in grade when comfortably held in a handicap at Galway last time, but had been in good form prior. Significant jockey booking; effective from 10-12f; progressive until latest. Excuses at Galway latest; previous C&D second gives her every chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (5/1 +23%)La Vita Nova |
5/1(+23%) | (2) La Vita Nova 5/1, Yard has won 2 of the last 9 renewals of this race. Possibly found the ground too quick, below form in first-time cheekpieces and well beaten in a 2m handicap at Ascot latest. Usually consistent; effective 12-16f on good, unproven on quicker or slower. Fast ground may not have suited latest; respected on earlier form albeit over further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (28/1 -100%)Sissi |
28/1(-100%) | (7) Sissi 28/1, Yard has won 2 of the last 9 renewals of this race. Below form when stepped up in trip on handicap debut, finishing down the field over 1m5f at Ballinrobe most recently. Off a short break; effective at 12f on good or good to firm but on a stiff mark. Struggled when last seen on handicap debut behind Heather at Ballinrobe in June. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (5/1 +29%)Heather |
5/1(+29%) | (3) Heather 5/1, Well treated on latest run, ran to form up in trip on handicap debut when beating a well-handicapped rival by a head off 83 over 1m5f at Ballinrobe three starts ago. That form has been franked and she can bounce back now down in grade. Listed disappointment latest; back in handicap with 7lb claimer back on so has her chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (11/1 -57%)Oriole |
11/1(-57%) | (4) Oriole 11/1, Returned to form when beaten 3/4l off 76 at Tramore last time. Blinkers first time. Acts on good ground and enjoys cut; inconsistent overall. Tramore second for whom first-time blinkers and this more galloping track should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (8/1 +56%)Beauparc |
8/1(+56%) | (5) Beauparc 8/1, Had a bit in hand when scoring by 3l off 75 at Gowran Park three starts ago. Below form when fifth, beaten 9l off 81 last time. Steadily progressive over middle distances but handicapper may have caught up. Handicapper seems to have her measure of late, including behind Heather at Down Royal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (16/1 -129%)Party Dress |
16/1(-129%) | (8) Party Dress 16/1, Scored by a short-head off 68 over 2m1f at Limerick three starts back. Ran to form when benefitting from first-time cheekpieces, finishing second beaten 3l off 73 last time. Effective from 10-17f on good or soft. Recent Leopardstown second augurs well; one to consider off same mark with senior rider on. |

HEATHER wasn't a factor in Listed class last month, but looks nicely weighted on her return to handicap company. Prior to that Gowran Park assignment, she put together two victories and a trio of runner-up berths. Nicola Burns, who is having an excellent season, takes 7lb off her back. Shaool keeps banking cheques and her consistency gives her a shot at defying top weight. Oriole was on and off the bridle in Tramore before finishing well in second, so first-time blinkers could have a really positive impact on her. It's A Heartbeat is the dark horse as she is lightly raced and won a maiden over C&D back in June. She looks to have plenty of potential.

FORTUNA VERA had excuses at Galway last time but rates a big player on her previous third here in the Apprentice Derby

1st (3) (5/6 -15%)Constitution River |
5/6(-15%) | (3) Constitution River 5/6, From a yard that has won this for the last three years; keen and quickened clear with ease to win a maiden at Galway by 4l on second start. Debut form was very strong, top course trainer, looks classy and worth a step up in grade. Easy Galway maiden winner the type to keep improving and sets the standard here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 +57%)Geryon |
3/1(+57%) | (4) Geryon 3/1, Travelled well and made a very promising debut, winning a hot-looking maiden here by 1 1/4l on first start; more to come and already worth a step up in grade. Recent C&D winner under considerate enough handling; likely more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (9/2 +75%)Go Just Do It |
9/2(+75%) | (5) Go Just Do It 9/2, Made a very promising debut when 1 1/4l fourth in a maiden here first time out; that form has been emphatically franked and he should be winning soon, with the potential to be useful. C&D debut fourth has been franked since; more needed though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (8/1 -191%)A Boy Named Susie |
8/1(-191%) | (1) A Boy Named Susie 8/1, Quickened clear readily when a very promising debut 3l winner in a 2yo race over 8f at Killarney; effective at 1m on soft ground and worth a step up in grade. Impressed on Killarney debut; drop in trip no problem and could well hold his own here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (50/1 +0%)Chicago Pope |
50/1(+0%) | (2) Chicago Pope 50/1, Improved for debut experience when second, beaten 8l in a maiden over 6f here last time; with the trainer in form, can win soon and likely to get 7f. Has fared well from unfavourable draws in both maidens; big step up in grade here though. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Aidan O'Brien has dominated this Group 2 prize over the past decade and CONSTITUTION RIVER can add to the Ballydoyle trainer's great record. The son of Wootton Bassett made a pleasing debut at Newmarket before going one better when justifying long odds-on favouritism over this trip at Galway. A Boy Named Susie looked a useful prospect when quickening clear to score on debut at Killarney, while Geryon defied a market drift when also making a winning start over C&D a fortnight ago. Go Just Do It made a bright start when fourth here last month in a maiden that has been working out well since.

Recent Ballydoyle domination of the this race can continue with CONSTITUTION RIVER, A Boy Named Susie and Geryon the dangers

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (4/1 -45%)Suzie Songs |
4/1(-45%) | (6) Suzie Songs 4/1, Followed up a high-quality maiden win with victory on Group debut in the Anglesey Stakes (Group 3) here over 6f, winning by a short-head last time. Returns after a short break; a likeable filly. Unbeaten filly; already shown smart form and stepping up to 7f can only benefit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/1 +64%)Evolutionist |
9/1(+64%) | (4) Evolutionist 9/1, Green in front but quickened clear, improving up in trip when winning a Newmarket (July) maiden over 8f by 1l last time. Trainer in form. Effective at 7-8f on good or good to firm ground; further progress expected. Has achieved the least of these but a winner last time and not to be underestimated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (66/1 -200%)Brownstown |
66/1(-200%) | (2) Brownstown 66/1, Showed improvement from debut, finishing fourth beaten 4l in the Silver Flash Stakes (Group 3) at Leopardstown last time when keen early. Effective at 7f on good or soft ground; capable of better if settling. Finished 4l behind Composing in a Group 3 here but racing keenly didn't help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (6/1 -20%)Balantina |
6/1(-20%) | (1) Balantina 6/1, Confirmed Albany form with a solid effort, finishing second beaten a short-head in the Prix Six Perfections (Group 3) at Deauville last time. Effective at 6-7f on good or good to firm ground; a reliable Group performer. Just missed in a Group 3 latest; solid form credentials and still improving by the looks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (9/1 +25%)Skydance |
9/1(+25%) | (5) Skydance 9/1, Ran to form stepping up in trip when second, beaten 3 1/4l in the Silver Flash Stakes (Group 3) at Leopardstown last time. Effective at 6-7f and continuing to progress steadily. Talented filly but held by Suzie Songs and Composing on their previous clashes. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

COMPOSING was soundly beaten on debut behind Balantina but has taken a significant step forward with each run since, winning a maiden over C&D before impressively making all in the Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown. The daughter of Wootton Bassett had Skydance over three lengths behind in second, with Brownstown in fourth, and looks a highly progressive filly. Balantina has since been placed in the Albany at Royal Ascot and another Group 3 in Deauville. Suzie Songs followed up a debut win at Cork by landing the Anglesey Stakes here on Irish Derby weekend and is another to consider.

Composing looks ominously progressive but SUZIE SONGS is no less promising after beating the boys in a Group 3 here.

16/1(+20%) | (11) Dream Escape 16/1, Ran to form back over hurdles, finishing 4 1/4l third in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Ballinrobe last time. Steadily progressive; effective 12f on the flat, 2m over hurdles. Placed over hurdles last time but that's modest form; yet to win a Flat handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (50/1 -52%)Voice Of Reason |
50/1(-52%) | (8) Voice Of Reason 50/1, Did too much too soon up in trip and failed to get home, finishing down the field in a handicap at Tramore last time. Effective 10-11f but probably on a stiff enough mark. Penultimate effort was passable but finished last over 1m4f at Tramore only last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (11/2 +8%)Slurricane |
11/2(+8%) | (1) Slurricane 11/2, Ran to form with a huge effort having raced close to a strong pace, beaten 7 1/2l in the 'Fred Winter' Juvenile Handicap Hurdle over 2m at Cheltenham last time. Had been in good form prior; progressive hurdler at 2m, effective 8-14f on the flat. Last seen finishing fifth at the Cheltenham Festival; just as capable on the Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (20/1 +0%)Solar Breeze |
20/1(+0%) | (4) Solar Breeze 20/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 1 1/2l in a Conditions Race here last time. Returning from a short break; generally consistent at 10-12f. Losing run but wouldn't be a bolt from the blue should she run well after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (14/1 +0%)Autocrat |
14/1(+0%) | (9) Autocrat 14/1, A bit too keen but ran to form when beaten 4l off 69 over 10f at Naas last time. Effective 10-12f; on a good mark based on all-weather form. Has only won on the AW but has threatened on turf, including two starts back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (28/1 -40%)Goldino |
28/1(-40%) | (14) Goldino 28/1, Ran to form when beaten 8 1/4l in a maiden over 7f at Gowran Park last time. Usually consistent but returning from a long absence and has a bit to find. Handicap debutante stepped up in trip but she's been a long-while absent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (14/1 +30%)Eighty Eight |
14/1(+30%) | (12) Eighty Eight 14/1, Did not find much having met trouble, finishing down the field in a handicap over 9f at Leopardstown most recently. Effective 10-12f but currently out of form. Modest strike-rate, exposed and doesn't arrive here in the best of form; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (13) (11/1 +67%)Miss Nifty |
11/1(+67%) | (13) Miss Nifty 11/1, Improved up in trip on stable debut for an easy win, benefitting from a pace collapse to score by 4l off 60 over 10f at Naas three starts back. Effective 10-12f. June Naas winner; she was too keen at Galway and possibilities if giving herself a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (7) (16/5 -83%)Spring Dance |
16/5(-83%) | (7) Spring Dance 16/5, Quickened clear cosily, improving again when dropped in grade to win a maiden at Dundalk over 11f by 3l last time. Progressive at 10f with a fair opening mark. AW maiden winner; has a top-class pedigree and brings lots of potential in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (6) (9/1 +10%)Dancing Steve |
9/1(+10%) | (6) Dancing Steve 9/1, Well backed when scoring by 3 1/4l off 64 over 10f at Navan penultimate start. Below form up in grade off a revised mark when sixth, beaten 4l off 72 last time; effective 9-12f. Better than he showed in a Racing League handicap latest; 1m4f is rated a positive. |

SLURRICANE won on the Flat at Killarney last year and was a useful juvenile hurdler, winning at Punchestown before a creditable fifth in the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival. The Ross O'Sullivan-trained gelding now reverts to the level and may have most to fear from Spring Dance, who finished strongly when landing a Dundalk maiden over an extended 1m2f last month. Autocrat has gained all five career wins at Dundalk, but has a much lower rating on turf and was runner-up on his penultimate start over this trip at Roscommon. Dick Donohoe also saddles Daboya, who made the frame at Galway last time.

The eyes are drawn to SPRING DANCE who is by far the least exposed of these after winning an AW maiden on her third run.

1/1(+27%) | (7) Slaney Drive 1/1, Rallied when headed and ran to debut form when second, beaten a length in a maiden over 9f at Leopardstown latest. Effective from 9f to 11f but needs stepping back up from 9f. Placed in both his races and probably beaten by a good one at Leopardstown last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (15/2 -25%)Lifting Sails |
15/2(-25%) | (10) Lifting Sails 15/2, Promising debut runner-up, beaten 3l in an auction race over 11f at Limerick on her only start. Should improve. 10-1 at Limerick (1m3f, good) but kept on for second behind a winner now rated 91. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (15/2 -25%)Etawa |
15/2(-25%) | (9) Etawa 15/2, May have found the ground too soft when fourth, beaten 11l in a maiden over 9f at Gowran Park last time. Blinkers on for the first time and off a short break; capable of better but looks quirky. First two runs promising before a disappointing third effort; now blinkered. |

5th (2) (125/1 -89%)Bartholomew |
125/1(-89%) | (2) Bartholomew 125/1, 18,000gns Nathaniel gelding; half-brother to Call Henry, fair at 7f as a 2yo; dam useful at 7f. 18,000gns foal; third foal out of a 7f winner (RPR 80); likely best watched on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (8/1 +50%)Hamadhan |
8/1(+50%) | (4) Hamadhan 8/1, Ran to debut form when beaten 8 1/2l in a maiden over 9f at Leopardstown last time. Trainer in form, but looks as though he needs further than 9f. Has plenty of ground to make up with Slaney Drive and perhaps one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (25/1 -56%)Direct Approach |
25/1(-56%) | (3) Direct Approach 25/1, No Nay Never gelding; full-brother to Dawn Over Owning, useful at 11f; dam poor at 8f; faces a tough task on debut. Gelded ahead of this belated debut and would need to see confidence behind him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (150/1 -20%)Baron Blake |
150/1(-20%) | (1) Baron Blake 150/1, Blew the start and never threatened when down the field in a maiden over 7f at Galway on his latest outing. Generally out of form in both codes and looks one for low-grade handicaps over longer trips on the Flat. Limited maiden hurdler and well beaten in a 7f maiden at Galway at odds of 250-1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (100/1 -150%)Bright Night |
100/1(-150%) | (8) Bright Night 100/1, Study Of Man filly; half-sister to Tyrrhenian Sea, high-class from 8f to 10f; dam fair at 10f. 18,000gns 3yo; one of her siblings is smart 1m/1m2f winner Tyrrhenian Sea. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (50/1 -79%)King Winner |
50/1(-79%) | (5) King Winner 50/1, £38,000 Threat gelding; yard can get first time out winners but faces a tough task on debut. Half-brother to French winners Haviassor (9.5f-12.5f; RPR 95) and Hevel (2m3f chase). |

SLANEY DRIVE has plenty to recommend him and can get off the mark at the third attempt. The Jim Bolger-trained colt was third in a 1m4f maiden here that has thrown up a couple of subsequent winners before slightly hampered when runner-up to Cadogan over 1m1f at Leopardstown, with Hamadhan over seven lengths behind. Saratoga was third on debut in a strong Killarney maiden last summer, but hasn't been seen since and it will be interesting to see if the market speaks in his favour. Etawa hasn't progressed since a promising start at Leopardstown and is now fitted with blinkers, while Lifting Sails indicated ability on debut at Limerick.

The market should tell a tale as to the fitness levels of Saratoga but as things stand preference is for the talented SLANEY DRIVE.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/2 +8%)Emerald Harmony |
11/2(+8%) | (1) Emerald Harmony 11/2, Returned to form when beaten 2l off 73 at Tipperary last time; fast 5f suits; consistent but holds no secrets from the handicapper. On a good mark and returned to form with headgear left off when a 2l third at Tipperary. |

6/4(+67%) | (2) Nezeeh 6/4, Ran to form when landing a handicap by a neck off 67 over 6f here last time; wide draw; effective 5-6f on a sound surface; in good form lately. Two good runs over 5f before a 6f win here last week; the 5lb rise might just find him out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (4/1 +20%)Mary Shoelaces |
4/1(+20%) | (3) Mary Shoelaces 4/1, Ran to form benefiting from a drop in grade, did well to win despite the rider dropping the whip when landing a handicap by 1/2l off 63 at Newmarket (July) last time; suited by 5f; in fair form. Goes well here and did well to win last time at Newmarket; competitive mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (6/1 +40%)Step Back In Time |
6/1(+40%) | (11) Step Back In Time 6/1, Quickened clear comfortably, improved under positive handling at a stiff track when landing a handicap by 2l off 48 at Navan last time; enjoys making it; off a short break; effective 5-6f; in good form but revised mark will demand more. All three wins at Navan and 8lb higher than for her last win there (raced handily). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (40/1 -100%)Happy Henry |
40/1(-100%) | (12) Happy Henry 40/1, Below form down in trip in first-time headgear when beaten 6l in a handicap at Down Royal last time; usually consistent; off a short break; likely needs 6f, looking exposed. Eight-race maiden who has yet to trouble the judge and he's 3lb wrong on this occasion. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (16/1 -256%)Viamonte |
16/1(-256%) | (4) Viamonte 16/1, Ran to form when 7l third in a maiden at Tipperary on most recent run; wide draw; consistent at 5f. Had a few chances now competitive in his two previous handicaps, both over 5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (16/1 +0%)Cupola |
16/1(+0%) | (8) Cupola 16/1, Ran to form when 4 1/2l third in a handicap over 6f at Windsor most recent run; significant jockey booking; off a short break; effective 6-7f, probably best at 6f; fair mark on best UK form. Placed on final run for Clive Cox and this drop to 5f is well worth exploring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (20/1 -208%)Titan Sun |
20/1(-208%) | (5) Titan Sun 20/1, Improved down in trip when beaten 3/4l off 66 at Cork last time; effective 5-6f; needs to build on recent return to form. Front-running second at Cork (5f); still lightly raced so could have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (11/1 -10%)I'm Spartacus |
11/1(-10%) | (9) I'm Spartacus 11/1, Returned to form back down in trip when beaten 1 1/2l off 60 over 6f at Ayr last time; top jockey back on board; wide draw; suited by 6f. Four-time AW winner who made it 0-18 on turf when third in a Class 6 at Ayr. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (25/1 -25%)Havana Notion |
25/1(-25%) | (13) Havana Notion 25/1, Found little and continued in poor form when beaten 4l in a handicap at Down Royal last time; regressive. Minor signs of a revival of late but only 3-42 and not ideal being 7lb out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (7) (20/1 +20%)Hero Of The Hour |
20/1(+20%) | (7) Hero Of The Hour 20/1, Built on a recent revival, well placed to challenge when scoring by a length off 54 at Down Royal three starts back; met trouble and had too much to do when sixth beaten 6l off 61 last time; generally consistent at 5-6f. Didn't get the breaks after starting slowly here last week in Nezeeh's race. |

EMERALD HARMONY got up close home to beat the progressive Cuban Grey at Bellewstown back in April and has dropped to a competitive mark. The Johnny Murtagh-trained filly wasn't favoured by the draw here on her penultimate start before finishing well into third behind Ballysax Lil' Mick at Tipperary with Nezeeh, successful here last Saturday, close up in fourth and Hero Of The Hour in sixth. Beano Power won on soft ground at Navan this spring and has held her form well since, while Titan Sun made a promising start for current connections when showing good pace throughout at Cork.

The suggestion is BEANO POWER who is usually thereabouts and the first-time cheekpieces might just make a difference.
Ths is the racecard key.
