12/1(+14%) | (1) Antigua 12/1, Modest debut, soon behind and well beaten in a maiden at Leopardstown on his only start. Bred for 10-12f and represents a top course trainer, so should leave that ordinary debut behind. Slow to break, never counted on recent Leopardstown debut; more expected of. |

66/1(-136%) | (7) Hes A Big Boy Now 66/1, Modest debut, soon behind and well beaten in a maiden at Leopardstown on his only start. 13th (10) (50/1 -150%)Kactus Jack |
50/1(-150%) | (10) Kactus Jack 50/1, Failed to build on debut and was comfortably held in a maiden at Naas last time. Effective at 7f and handles yielding and good ground; needs to improve after that modest second run. Some debut promise at Naas but well held there latest when tried over 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (19) (250/1 -25%)Sands Castle |
250/1(-25%) | (19) Sands Castle 250/1, No impact on debut and always behind, well beaten in a maiden at Gowran Park on her only start. Pedigree mixes speed and stamina, suggesting she may find her level in low-grade handicaps later on. Always behind on recent Gowran debut when a 200-1 shot. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (14) (66/1 -164%)Belle Nuit |
66/1(-164%) | (14) Belle Nuit 66/1, Improved from debut, more streetwise when fourth beaten 3 1/4l in a maiden over 7f at Galway last time. Off a short break since; effective at 7f and acts on soft ground. Should stay further and can progress again. Mild promise in Galway maidens; not sure step up in trip on heavy ground will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (13) (66/1 -230%)Unidos |
66/1(-230%) | (13) Unidos 66/1, Green early but showed minor promise once the penny dropped, beaten 5l in a maiden over 6f at Naas on debut. Has plenty of speed in his pedigree, so the extra distance may not necessarily suit. Mild Naas debut promise, upset in stalls and withdrawn at Galway since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (15) (200/1 -100%)Connova |
200/1(-100%) | (15) Connova 200/1, Poorly drawn and finished down the field in a 7f maiden at Leopardstown last time. 28/1(-40%) | (18) Nation Crown 28/1, 10 Apr; 35,000 euros Sioux Nation filly; half-sister to Canford Lilli, very useful from 6f to 7f at 2yo; dam high-class at 5f; wide draw. One of two newcomers for the Stack yard, market should indicate preference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
19th (20) (300/1 -50%)Up Style |
300/1(-50%) | (20) Up Style 300/1, Modest debut when too keen and never involved, well beaten in a maiden at Galway on her only start. Drawn wide in a large field and bred for 10f or further, but little chance on debut evidence. Iffraaj filly was keen, beaten a long way on Galway debut six days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
20th (16) (250/1 -25%)Go Ask Alice |
250/1(-25%) | (16) Go Ask Alice 250/1, Poor debut when a big price and never figured, well beaten in a maiden at Galway on her only start. Should be suited by around 8f but has little chance based on debut evidence. Soon beaten on Galway debut six days ago; easily passed over. |

JAMES J BRADDOCK displayed plenty of promise when a close second on his debut at Navan last month and the son of Zarak could be hard to beat with the benefit of that experience. Il Corsaro also caught the eye when fifth on his racecourse bow at Leopardstown a couple of weeks ago and Aidan O'Brien's colt should not be discounted. Ryefield Dasher is noted, while Cannes and Atomic City are newcomers to consider.

The percentage call appears to be JAMES J BRADDOCK but all of the Ballydoyle trio are possible threats on their second starts

1st (9) (6/1 +45%)Staysound Susie |
6/1(+45%) | (9) Staysound Susie 6/1, Didn't see her race out last time when testing ground was against her, beaten 7 1/4l in a 6f handicap here; effective at 5/6f, acts on soft and good ground but dropping in trip may not suit on this surface. Below best recently on heavy; not sure drop in trip will suit, rider's claim a positive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (40/1 -82%)Asdana |
40/1(-82%) | (11) Asdana 40/1, Scored by 3/4l off 67 at Cork three starts back but below form when dropped to 5f last time; has a wide draw; effective 5-7f, probably best at a stiff 5f, acts on yielding and good ground; something to prove on heavy. Cork winner on better ground but upset in stalls both starts since when well held. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/1 +9%)Airspeed |
10/1(+9%) | (3) Airspeed 10/1, Ran to form when dropped in trip, beaten 3/4l off 77 here last time; effective at 5f, handles soft ground, still fairly treated on UK form. Good C&D premier handicap third latest; 4lb higher but down in grade so respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (13/2 +28%)Mickey The Steel |
13/2(+28%) | (12) Mickey The Steel 13/2, Well placed and ran to form when beaten 1/2l off 66 at Navan last time; effective at 5f, suited by cut in the ground; in form and should again be competitive. 2023 winner and solid claims on recent placed form off reduced mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (4/1 +0%)Stag Night |
4/1(+0%) | (2) Stag Night 4/1, Ran to form, finishing strongly under a good ride when landing a handicap by 1/2l off 84 at Naas last time; effective over 5/6f, handles soft and heavy ground, and remains well handicapped. Recent snug Naas winner; 5lb rise workable and loves this ground; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (7/1 +42%)Smoke Them Out |
7/1(+42%) | (8) Smoke Them Out 7/1, Won by 3/4l off 67 over 6f here on his penultimate start but failed to get home on testing ground last time; effective at 5-6f, acts on soft and good ground; unreliable and this mark may prove too high. 6f winner last month ran well for way in similar contest since; drop in trip could suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (11/1 +31%)Likedbymike |
11/1(+31%) | (4) Likedbymike 11/1, Below form when the ground was too testing and finished down the field in a 6f handicap here last time; had been in good form prior; effective at 5f and best form shown at Cork but has something to prove again on heavy. Ran out of steam in heavy ground over 6f here on latest so drop back to 5f should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (14) (11/1 -38%)Nouvel Espoir |
11/1(-38%) | (14) Nouvel Espoir 11/1, Ran to form, finishing well late when beaten a length off 65 at Navan last time; effective 5-6f, acts on soft and good ground; generally consistent and mark still fair. Claims on two recent Navan runs; 2lb wrong but leading claimer takes off 3lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (15) (9/1 -20%)Verified |
9/1(-20%) | (15) Verified 9/1, Ran to form when dropped in trip, beaten 3/4l off 62 at Navan last time; effective at 5/6f, handles soft and good ground; a frustrating maiden who can be inconsistent. Only lost 2nd close home to Micky The Steel at Navan; 4lb wrong but rider claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (16/1 -60%)Glory To Be |
16/1(-60%) | (10) Glory To Be 16/1, Well placed and ran to form to get off the mark when winning a maiden at Navan by a short head last time; effective over 5/6f, handles soft ground; faces a tougher task now switched to handicaps. Recent Navan maiden winner; up 4lb now tackling handicaps but could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (15/2 +6%)Amicitia |
15/2(+6%) | (5) Amicitia 15/2, Ran to form when dropped in trip, finishing fifth beaten 3 1/2l off 77 last time; wears a hood for the first time; effective over 5/6f, handles soft ground, and is in fair form. Didn't get home on soft at Navan latest so heavy ground a concern here; tried hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (1) (17/2 +6%)Real Force |
17/2(+6%) | (1) Real Force 17/2, Probably needed the run but can go well fresh, showing an encouraging seasonal debut when beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap here last time; wears blinkers for the first time and has a wide draw. C&D winner back from a long break but goes well fresh and has his ground; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (50/1 -150%)Edmond Halley |
50/1(-150%) | (13) Edmond Halley 50/1, Ran to form despite showing signs of waywardness when beaten 5l in a maiden at Navan last time; wears a hood for the first time; has plenty of speed in his pedigree but needs to improve switching to handicaps. Saddle slipped latest in Navan maiden won by Glory To Be; potential improver in hood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (6) (80/1 -142%)Billboa |
80/1(-142%) | (6) Billboa 80/1, Below form when beaten 4 1/4l in a 6f handicap at Southwell last time; returning after a very lengthy absence. Better AW performer, best watched with a view to an imminent AW return. |

MICKEY THE STEEL was only narrowly denied when second at Navan 11 days ago and the seven-year-old, who claimed this prize in 2023, could go one better, despite a 2lb rise. Nouvel Espoir was just half a length behind the selection at Navan and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Mary Shoelaces edges out Glory To Be and Amicitia to be the pick of the remainder.

Recent Naas winner STAG NIGHT is taken to follow up on his required ground

Shamalza made a winning debut over a mile at Navan a couple of months ago and has to be noted. That said, marginal preference is for TINA'S INDIAN, who returned from a gelding operation with a third off a mark of 94 at Naas last month and, on that evidence, the unexposed four-year-old could take plenty of stopping. The rest have questions to answer, but I Am Superman is the pick of them.

Strongest recent claims are held by TINA'S INDIAN (nap), although Shamalza is unexposed and greatly respected
Class & Speed Card

Having supplemented a close-up third at Killarney with a good runner-up effort over 1m here, compensation could be on the cards for SUPER EXCEED. A 3lb higher mark looks workable for Tom Mullins' filly and reverting to 7f shouldn't prevent another bold bid. Loingseoir arrives on the back of a C&D victory, but a 7lb rise in the ratings demands more. With that in mind, a bigger threat may emerge from the unexposed Key Witness, who is entitled to build on his second-placed stable bow at this venue last month.

Loads with chances, MERCURIAL getting slight preference over Key Witness

Uxmal wasn't seen again last season after landing the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot and he's entitled to build on his last-placed reappearance in the Curragh Cup in July. However, shock Roscommon Listed winner CHALLY CHUTE was denied a clear run at a crucial stage in the Irish Cesarewitch here, but still went very close and looks a more solid proposition in his current heart. Irish Oaks third Island Hopping is a potential improver stepping up in trip and she completes the shortlist.

CHALLY CHUTE will be difficult to beat if repeating his unlucky run in the Irish Cesarewitch over C&D last time.
Class & Speed Card

Perry Mason made light work of the opposition when completing a double at Galway on Monday and merits respect in his bid to land a hat-trick. However, the assessor has reacted with a 12lb hike, which may leave the four-year-old vulnerable to the lightly-raced TERRE DE VEGA. John Kinsella's gelding offered plenty of encouragement with his second-placed stable bow behind Dark Viper at Leopardstown and any improvement could see him reverse the form. Skippinandajumpin and Pillar Of Hope are the pick of the remainder.

Loads have chances but TERRE DE VEGA gets the vote to turn the tables on Dark Viper from Leopardstown last time.
Class & Speed Card
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Fleur De Chine bounced back to form with a victory in Listed company at Naas on her first start over 1m4f. However, she's penalised for that success and the three-year-old STARFORD is preferred on these terms. Joseph O'Brien's charge has shown good progress in handicaps this year, having won three of his last four starts, including on heavy ground at Listowel last time. He will likely prove competitive at this level, while Ballet Slippers looks best of the Ballydoyle contingent.

SHARANGA caught the eye making late gains at Leopardstown (1m2f) last time and the step back up to 1m4f looks sure to suit
Class & Speed Card

Gavin Cromwell plays a strong hand in this, with Mcloughlin holding every chance on the back of a narrow defeat at Roscommon, but a chance is taken on stablemate CALAIS. The 600,000gns purchase displayed plenty of ability when finishing a close third at Roscommon on her introduction and she has lots of scope for improvement on her reappearance if coping with the testing ground. Last month's Leopardstown runner-up Shamrock Flame is not out of it either.

Classy bumper mare SWITCH FROM DIESEL could be too good for these on ground more akin to NH racing
