LET'S GO HUGO gave notice a return to winning ways was imminent when going close in an amateurs race at Redcar last time. Ollie Pears' charge has eased to an attractive mark and another bold bid looks assured. Raft Up has done all his winning on the all-weather so far, though recent placed efforts at Leicester suggest he could have a say in proceedings, while Kodi Red is worthy of respect having won here last term.

Off an attractive mark returned to the scene of his last turf win, KODI RED may be the answer. Let's Go Hugo is second pick.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MONSIEUR FANTAISIE made a winning debut for his new stable when landing an amateurs race at Redcar. He beat Let's Go Hugo, due to run in the opening race on the card, so a good effort from the latter would further boost confidence. Calafrio has been threatening to get her head back in front of late. She looks a bigger threat than the frustrating Papa Don't Preach, who went close yet again when runner-up at Wetherby.

An open race in which the well-handicapped SIR BENEDICT gets the vote ahead of Monsieur Fantaisie and Papa Don't Preach.

The market could offer some valuable clues as the chances of these newcomers. COURT OF STARS is a half-sister to a couple of winning sprinters, including the useful Alfredo Arcano, and any strong support for the daughter of Inns Of Court could prove significant. Light The Night Up and Date Line are others to note, with Jim Crowley's presence on the latter taking the eye.

The market should be highly informative but at this stage LIGHT THE NIGHT UP gets the vote ahead of Court Of Stars.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Not beaten far when keeping on towards the finish at Newmarket in April, BRAVE NATION should appreciate a return to Town Moor, having won two of his last three starts here. The five-year-old can regain the winning thread at the main expense of Hiya Maite, who landed this contest last year off 1lb higher. Over The Blues is another to note, as well as Grandlad, who was a creditable third at Haydock most recently.

Brave Nation and SQUEALER appeal most and the selection can exact revenge on his old rival.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

POLE STAR deservedly got off the mark with a determined success at Haydock last week, and a mark of 83 on his handicap bow could underestimate him. Stepping up in trip should bring about further improvement as well, and he may have too much for Way Of Stars and Scarlet Moon, who is on a four-timer from the all-weather. Many Men and Renato may also have a say in proceedings.

Andrew Balding won this last year with one who improved for the step up in trip and WAY OF STARS (nap) can do likewise.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

A determined winner on debut over C&D in April, REMMOOZ is entitled to have plenty more improvement forthcoming, and this looks like an ideal opportunity to follow up. Al Joory improved from first to second start to score comfortably at Kempton last month and she is a leading contender, along with Watch And Shoot, who got going late in the piece to triumph at Catterick recently. A well-bred sort by Kingman for top connections, newcomer Circios should be monitored for market support.

The vote goes to REMMOOZ, who made a bright start with his win over C&D in April and represents a yard that won this in 2023.

SUPERPOSITION comfortably took care of his nearest rival by over three lengths at Kempton last month and now has an 8lb higher rating to contend with. The four-year-old makes only his fourth handicap start and could have more to offer. Eldrickjones hit the woodwork at York on his most recent outing and he has to be respected, despite being 3lb higher. Billyjoh is another to watch out for.

This looks wide open but BILLYJOH is well treated on some smart handicap form last season and he gets the vote on this return to 7f.

PERCY JONES had La Cadalora (third) behind when outrunning his odds of 50/1 to finish second over 1m4f at Newbury last time and is expected to confirm that form. The six-year-old will have no problems with this step back up in trip and could go one better. La Cadalora has her first attempt at this distance, so she has to be taken seriously. Tailorman is the pick of the remainder.

The vote goes to James Fanshawe's unexposed filly LA CADALORA, who may be able to reverse latest Newbury placings with Percy Jones.
Ths is the racecard key.
