|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (13/2 -18%)Finbar's Lad |
13/2(-18%) | (6) Finbar's Lad 13/2, Led a fast pace before fading for fifth reappearance; improved when raced freely beaten 3l off 72 at Beverley last time; trainer in form; value selection based on balance of form Largely consistent 6yo who went close in this race in 2024; probably won't be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (10/1 +38%)Albeseeingyer |
10/1(+38%) | (1) Albeseeingyer 10/1, Suited by coming off the pace when winning at Newmarket last August; well backed and well beaten in a handicap here in October when making too much; chance on reappearance Out of form when last seen in the autumn and still on a tough mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (6/1 +0%)Thapa Vc |
6/1(+0%) | (7) Thapa Vc 6/1, Outstayed rivals back in trip off solid pace scored by 1/2l off 67 over 8f at Bath penultimate start; below form fifth beaten 6 1/2l off 69 last time; Jack Mitchell back on board; contender Multiple winner over this year; on a workable mark but didn't fire when last in action. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (33/1 -32%)Livio Milo |
33/1(-32%) | (10) Livio Milo 33/1, Disappointing in three starts this season; down the field in a handicap over 8f at Southwell most recent; generally out of form; down in trip; unproven on fast ground; fair bit to find Down the field on all three stable start but still worth a glance in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (18/1 +0%)Grace Taufan |
18/1(+0%) | (4) Grace Taufan 18/1, Remains unexposed after just three starts; ideally suited by trip beaten 5l in a maiden over 9f at Wolverhampton last time; usually consistent; down in trip; unproven on fast ground Unexposed filly who has shown clear promise on AW; switched to turf for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (40/1 -100%)Lucky Man |
40/1(-100%) | (2) Lucky Man 40/1, Last win came at Windsor August 2024; probably needed race down the field in a handicap over 6f at York end of May; generally out of form; up in trip; plenty more needed Ran very poorly on recent stable debut; first venture beyond 6f today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (20/1 -43%)Diligent Henry |
20/1(-43%) | (12) Diligent Henry 20/1, Scored by 2l off 51 at Wolverhampton three starts back on reappearance; third over C&D penultimate start; eighth beaten 11l off 57 last time; may not relish fast ground Placed over C&D in April but flopped on AW last month and is up in grade today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (20/1 +29%)Too Much |
20/1(+29%) | (8) Too Much 20/1, Last 13 starts have all been at Newcastle; very keen beaten 6l in a handicap there last time; unproven on fast ground; big question to answer on return to the turf AW winner in March; below form last month; still on tough mark for rare turf start. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With most of these having questions to answer, it is hard to oppose AMAYRETTO. Tim Easterby's filly has won twice in recent months, the first of which came over C&D, and a 6lb rise for the latest of those victories may not be enough to stop her here. Grace Taufan should not be underestimated on her handicap bow, while Finbar's Lad is another to note.

Preference is for FINBAR'S LAD, who went very close in a division of this race a year ago and returns here after a decent effort.

1st (5) (9/1 +44%)Follow Your Heart |
9/1(+44%) | (5) Follow Your Heart 9/1, Dual AW winner earlier this year; beaten 3 1/2l in fifth off 83 at Kempton last time; better form on AW; unproven on fast ground; few questions to answer Much better on AW; handicapped accordingly on turf but others appeal more all the same. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (7/2 -17%)Novello Lad |
7/2(-17%) | (8) Novello Lad 7/2, Won at this course over 6f 12 months ago; possibly gone a 1/2l closer with a clear run, but beaten on merit beaten 2l off 67 over 6f at Redcar last time; up in trip; the pick on balance of form Unraced beyond 6f since 2yo season but comes here after a pretty good third last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (22/1 -267%)Angel Of Rain |
22/1(-267%) | (4) Angel Of Rain 22/1, Potentially unexposed as only thrice raced; game when winning a novice at Wolverhampton over 6f by a nose last time; steadily progressive; returning from a break; up in trip Narrow 6f AW novice winner in February; up in trip for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (18/1 -80%)Chifa |
18/1(-80%) | (7) Chifa 18/1, Returned after out of action 2024 with solid effort in March; ran to form beaten 2l off 69 at Wolverhampton last time; value selection based on balance of form In frame on three of four AW starts since long absence but return to turf is not ideal. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 +21%)Vibrato |
11/1(+21%) | (3) Vibrato 11/1, Well below form down the field in a handicap at Musselburgh when using up the tank too early most recent; generally out of form; unproven on fast ground; off a short-break; needs to improve Won three times on AW in late 2024 but has lost his way this year; had wind op in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (11/1 +39%)Wilde And Dandy |
11/1(+39%) | (10) Wilde And Dandy 11/1, Raced freely beaten 7l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; in good form prior; best form as been on AW; this might be a big ask Four-time 7f winner; in decent form over 1m this spring and recent 7f defeat is forgivable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (5/1 +55%)Patontheback |
5/1(+55%) | (9) Patontheback 5/1, Improved when beaten by 2l off 66 over 6f at Catterick last time; up in trip; Jack Mitchell booked; may contend if going the right way now Stayed on for third over 16 days ago; better suited by 7f now and well handicapped; player. |

9th (2) (11/1 -175%)Count Palatine |
11/1(-175%) | (2) Count Palatine 11/1, Back-to-back winner at Thirsk and Redcar in September; improving with each start this season; beaten 1 1/4l off 74 at Beverley last time; Connor Beasley back on board Placed on last couple of outings (7f/7.4f) and ought to give another good account here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (9/2 +31%)Wreck It Ryley |
9/2(+31%) | (1) Wreck It Ryley 9/2, Well backed when scored by 2l off 71 over 6f at Thirsk four starts back in April; sixth beaten 3 1/4l off 76 at York last time; up in trip; contender if getting back to form in an easier contest In good form over 6f this spring and 7f also suits; in the mix. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ANGEL OF RAIN took a big step forward when winning on her debut for James Horton at Wolverhampton in February and that form suggests that an opening mark of 72 should be workable. The recent Beverley second Count Palatine is likely to be in the mix once again, while Novello Lad edges out Patontheback to be best of the rest.

This can go to well-handicapped 7yo PATONTHEBACK (nap), who recently signalled a return to form over 6f and is better suited by 7f.

4th (4) (14/1 -75%)Hazy Cosmic Jane |
14/1(-75%) | (4) Hazy Cosmic Jane 14/1, 14,500gns yearling; well-related Starman fully; had benefited for debut experience 2 1/4l third in a maiden at Lingfield most recent run; can put that to good use here; the pick on balance of form Improved form when third of five over 7f on second start; more needed again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (7/1 +22%)Alfa Patisserie |
7/1(+22%) | (1) Alfa Patisserie 7/1, 50,000gns yearling; Kodi Bear filly; half-sister to Listed winner Choux; modest when beaten 7 1/4l in a novice over 6f at York on debut; up in trip; not out of it Never looked dangerous when fifth of 11 at York but this race is easier; interesting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Homestrait clearly has the ability to be successful but could once again be vulnerable. With that in mind, preference is for ARTANIS, who is a half-sister to the useful Celeborn and her dam was Listed-placed over 6f. It would be no surprise to see George Boughey's filly play a leading role on her debut, although Amora Queen is another interesting newcomer.

Ivan Furtado's ALFA PATISSERIE displayed clear promise in a good 6f York novice on her debut and ought to be more streetwise here.

7/2(-17%) | (7) Gravitas 7/2, Inexperience proved costly on debut when beaten 1/2l at Ripon; second beaten by a more comfortable 4 1/4l in a maiden at Beverley latest; minor chance based on that No match for Tarriance when second at Beverley but is 7lb better off with him here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (4/7 +37%)Tarriance |
4/7(+37%) | (4) Tarriance 4/7, Frankel colt; representing top connections; had benefited for debut experience when winning a maiden at Beverley by 4 1/4l last time; big chance of following up for in-form trainer Drew just over 4l clear of Gravitas when winning recent Beverley maiden; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/1 +17%)Bahadur |
5/1(+17%) | (5) Bahadur 5/1, 60,000gns yearling; Make Believe colt; half-brother to half-dozen winners; modest debut but improved next time when 2l third in a novice at Newmarket most recent run; the pick on balance of form Belied 50-1 odds and ran big race when third in valuable Newmarket novice last month. |

11/1(-22%) | (6) Bomba Del Mundo 11/1, 18,000gns yearling; by French dual Group 1 winner Tamayuz; 2l winner in a maiden over 11f at Windsor on debut; another who could be competitive again if progressing further Came from off the pace to win comfortably on recent debut at Windsor (11.4f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (12/1 -50%)Little Saver |
12/1(-50%) | (8) Little Saver 12/1, Ran on for fifth on debut; came on for that when 2 1/4l third in a maiden over 11f at Windsor most recent run; trainer in form; should appreciate further; value selection based on balance of form Behind two of these when third at Windsor; can improve but needs to learn to settle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (200/1 -100%)Mr Withington |
200/1(-100%) | (2) Mr Withington 200/1, Relatively modest debut when well beaten by 10l in a novice over 7f at Southwell only start; up in trip; difficult to fancy making return here after lengthy layoff since December Showed only minor promise for Roger Teal on debut in December (7f); now with new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (300/1 -50%)Garswood Gold |
300/1(-50%) | (1) Garswood Gold 300/1, Failed to show any real signs of ability in National Hunt sphere; second run after wind op and for new yard; considerably back in trip for first flat start; all to do Struggled in a bumper and on hurdling debut; big outsider on Flat debut. |

100/1(-52%) | (10) Rocky Gb 100/1, Golden Horn gelding; half-brother to Brazen Bolt, very smart at 6f; dam smart at 7f; probably best watched on this first start Out of a useful 7f winner but has good standard to reach on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (300/1 -200%)Burlington Place |
300/1(-200%) | (3) Burlington Place 300/1, 15,000gns; Intello filly; dam useful at 8f and half-sister to Group 3 scorer Regal Realm; trainer on a testing run; perhaps best watched on debut here 15,000gns yearling; dam placed at 7f/1m (RPR 76); unlikely to be good enough on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TARRIANCE beat Gravitas by just over four lengths when justifying short odds to shed his maiden tag at Beverley last month and that was quite a taking performance. The son of Frankel looks a useful prospect and it would be no surprise to see him carry his 7lb penalty to victory. Bomba Del Mundo struck on her introduction at Windsor last month and she could have lots more to offer, so has to be respected.

This novice has depth to it but there is no strong temptation to oppose TARRIANCE, who looked useful when winning at Beverley.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (4/1 +71%)Hale End |
4/1(+71%) | (6) Hale End 4/1, Without a win since scoring at Ayr last July; below par 10th beaten 7l in a handicap over 9f at Hamilton last time; usually consistent; down in trip; threat if bouncing back Yet to hit top gear this season (four runs) but back on a good mark now; interesting. |

11/4(+39%) | (3) Dutch Decoy 11/4, Last win was at Newmarket in July 2023; below par beaten 9l in a handicap at Goodwood last time; Jack Mitchell booked; chance dropped further in the weights Very well handicapped now but has become inconsistent and was soundly beaten last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (6/1 -118%)Mount King |
6/1(-118%) | (8) Mount King 6/1, Bit in hand landing a handicap by 2l off 62 at Pontefract last time; that was first win since October 2023, but chance to follow up now back at it; the pick on balance of form Won readily off a reduced mark at Pontefract last month and has possibilities here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (5/1 +33%)Savvy Kingdom |
5/1(+33%) | (4) Savvy Kingdom 5/1, Ideally suited by trip when scored by 1/2l off 78 at Newcastle penultimate start; sixth beaten 9l off 81 last time; Billy Loughnane rides; value selection based on balance of form 2-3 on AW but has performed well only one of four turf starts; others look less risky. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MOUNT KING bounced back from his shocker at Thirsk to win eased down at Pontefract last time and the assessor may have been kind to only put him up 5lb. Considering the manner of that success, he will prove tough to beat again. Shaw Park failed to supplement his Yarmouth success when third at the same venue next time, but he has to be considered off 2lb lower. Savvy Kingdom is the pick of the remainder.

It might be worth chancing HALE END, who is yet to strike form this season but is handicapped to win soon.

12th (8) (25/1 -56%)Morning Angel |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TOOTA outran her odds of 20/1 to finish just under five lengths clear of the third when filling the runner-up spot at Leicester last time and goes off an unchanged rating. Tim Easterby's three-year-old makes only her fifth handicap start and may have more to offer. Sharon Curly ran a career-best when second at Carlisle on her latest outing and should remain competitive, while I Can Boogy is another to keep an eye on.

A chance is taken on QUEEN'S PALACE who showed improved form on her handicap debut last time and should improve again back at 7f.

ATOMIC MASS came in for significant support at Wetherby and duly obliged. There looks more to come from the son of Havana Gold on that evidence and he can defy a 5lb rise. Promise Time has been raised a hefty 9lb after scoring at Carlisle, though he scored with plenty left in the tank and can feature once again, while Get Up Everybody looks best of the remainder.

The vote goes to COORAMOOK, who was a good second in a decent Yarmouth handicap in April and can be forgiven two lesser runs since.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

NOVAMAY makes a quick reappearance having gone close over 6f at Catterick five days ago. Michael Dods' filly looks worth another try over today's minimum trip on that evidence, with first-time cheekpieces also helping her cause. Lingfield runner-up Step Along has a shout off her revised mark, while Wee Mary has been in the mix of late and is another worthy of a second glance.

This drop back to 5f, combined with first-time cheekpieces, might enable NOVAMAY to get a deserved win on the board.
Ths is the racecard key.
