Ingleby Archie missed out on his hat-trick at York from a high draw, and he may put in a much better effort in this smaller field. JUNGLE LAND returns to his favoured trip after a three-quarter-length second over shorter at Chelmsford and, although he needs a career best off this mark, his form suggests he has a decent chance. Tourist has top-weight but won't mind the going and is another worthy of consideration.

The suggestion is BRAZEN BOLT who showed much more on his second outing for Ruth Carr and can build again on that run.

SHAVKAT was value for more than the official winning margin on his debut at Lingfield (all-weather) earlier this month, shaping as if the experience would not be lost on him. Wicket Keeper is the obvious danger after keeping on well to score cosily at Catterick and he should not be taken lightly, while Andrew Balding's Showcasing filly Secret Sonata is an interesting newcomer.

The pair with winning form look the likeliest candidates with the more experienced WICKET KEEPER getting the vote ahead of Shavkat.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Zappata's winning run came to an end when he didn't see out the mile and a quarter at Beverley, but he could go close over this trip. SINGOURA failed to build on her C&D second when well beaten at York after pulling too hard, but she sports a first-time hood here. Dropped in class after only four starts, she may find the improvement required. Mister Invincible makes his handicap debut and is another to consider.

War Howl would be a shoo-in on his best 2yo form but he ran moderately last time and tentative preference is for ARBITRATION.

KAWTHAR was unfortunate to bump into a potentially useful sort when staying on strongly for second over 7f at Wetherby last week. The daughter of Sioux Nation looks to have plenty more to offer and is taken to edge out Flying Macs. The latter posted an improved effort when fourth over 6f at Chelmsford and will likely appreciate this extra yardage, while Cocktail Lounge makes most appeal of the newcomers.

Sovereign Bright can improve for her first run but the verdict goes to KAWTHAR who bumped into a useful prospect at Wetherby.

Beattie Is Back just got the better of RIOT over C&D last time, but has been raised 4lb for that success and the latter can turn the tables. David O'Meara's charge won this contest last year off an 8lb higher mark and looks primed to make another bold bid under a 5lb claimer. Mereside Diva arrives on the back of finishing a creditable third at York and could pose a threat.

A chance is taken on NIBRAS ANGEL who should be well handicapped and not a lot has gone right since joining her current yard.

5th (5) (13/2 -30%)Mystical Maria |
13/2(-30%) | (5) Mystical Maria 13/2, One win in ten career starts; beaten by 6 lengths in a handicap over 10 furlongs at York last time; up in trip here; unproven on fast ground; needs to bounce back from a few disappointing runs recently Didn't run badly when eighth of 20 at York but consistency is becoming an issue. |

6th (3) (13/2 -117%)Stellarmasterpiece |
13/2(-117%) | (3) Stellarmasterpiece 13/2, Plenty of experience to boot; well backed when landing a handicap by a neck off the mark of 62 at Catterick last time; up 2lb's in the weights after last time; a real contender here Has been excelling at Catterick but there's no reason why she won't take to this new track. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Thankyou Baroness has shown a fair amount of ability in her three novice starts to date and needs to be monitored in the betting off an opening mark of 68. Last-time-out Catterick victor Stellarmasterpiece is respected, but the vote goes to ENDLESS WHISPER. The five-year-old took a big leap forward when taking the silver medal home over track and trip last time and is just 1lb higher.

A tricky handicap. ENDLESS WHISPER has plenty of upside as it was her handicap debut when runner-up here 22 days ago.

6th (7) (11/4 -38%)Obito |
11/4(-38%) | (7) Obito 11/4, Bit in hand when landing a handicap by 1 and a 1/4 lengths off the mark of 72 at Hamilton last time out; upped 4lb's in the weights here; seems to be going the right way; the pick on balance of form Came good in just his second handicap and can take the 4lb rise in his stride. |

9th (10) (11/1 +0%)Springbok |
11/1(+0%) | (10) Springbok 11/1, Zero wins in seven career runs; beaten by 7 and a 1/2 lengths in a handicap at Hamilton last time; may not relish fast ground; probably best watched here 0-7 and hasn't got a lot going in handicaps; ninth of 11 in the latest. |

10th (8) (11/2 +45%)Charencey |
11/2(+45%) | (8) Charencey 11/2, Did not get a clear run when beaten by 6 lengths in a handicap at Newmarket (July) last time; cheekpieces fitted for the first time; not won in over a year; 11lb's lower than last winning mark; up against it here Below par of late but new headgear is tried and there's nothing wrong with his mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

AVIANO sprung a 50/1 surprise when sporting first-time cheekpieces and scoring by a head at Windsor last time, and the assessor may have been kind to only put him up 2lb. If the son of Ulysses remains in similar form, he could be the one to beat. Obito came from the rear to run out a ready victor at Hamilton recently and is likely to be on the premises. Hale End is the pick of the remainder.

The 3yo OBITO (nap) was a 150,000gns breeze-up buy who is now coming good and he's probably still well handicapped after a 4lb rise.
Ths is the racecard key.
