(3) (5/6 +24%)The Liffey |
5/6(+24%) | (3) The Liffey 5/6, Head high and probably idled in front when winning a claimer here by a neck last time; effective 7/8f on good and AW; highest rated of these and might land hat-trick. Seeking a hat-trick of claiming wins here; the one to beat again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (10/3 -11%)Una Matata |
10/3(-11%) | (5) Una Matata 10/3, Ran to form back up in trip beaten 5l in a handicap here last time; in good form prior; top course trainer; effective 7/8f, acts on AW; good chance at this level. Didn't land a blow a week ago from wide draw in handicap but respected back in a claimer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (11/2 +21%)Dontspoilasale |
11/2(+21%) | (7) Dontspoilasale 11/2, Ran to form beaten 2 1/2l in a handicap here last time; enjoys making it; effective 5/6f, probably acts on any; respected back down in grade/up in trip. Best form at 6f, could be vulnerable at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/1 +25%)Ruff Justice |
9/1(+25%) | (4) Ruff Justice 9/1, Ran to recent level beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap here last time; effective 6-8f on sound surface; struggling of late and is looking flattered by 2yo form. Ran okay for a long way on yard debut here over a mile last month; drop in trip to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (14/1 -27%)Benavente |
14/1(-27%) | (8) Benavente 14/1, Below form back up in trip beaten 7l in a handicap here last time; effective 8-12f, best on AW; big drop in trip/grade and not ruled out. Wins have been over further; yard seemingly have a stronger contender in The Liffey. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (14/1 +0%)Thaloria |
14/1(+0%) | (2) Thaloria 14/1, Ran as though something amiss when down the field in a handicap here most recent; effective 7f, acts on AW; bounce back needed dropped in grade. C&D handicap winner; bit to find on ratings but not to be ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (14/1 +36%)Crest Of Light |
14/1(+36%) | (6) Crest Of Light 14/1, Never in it from off the pace when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Thurles most recent; usually held up; off a short-break; effective 7/8f, acts on good to soft and AW; hard to make a case for. Soundly beaten in maiden hurdles; wouldn't be out of it if running to his British AW form. |

THE LIFFEY can complete a hat-trick of claiming-race wins. Initially trained by Aidan O'Brien and rated as high as 98, he has recently taken well to all-weather racing and, suited by today's distance, should take all the beating under his 7lb claimer. Una Matata is similarly suited by this C&D but while she has strong recent handicap form, she is held by the selection on February form. Benavente has useful recent form and has bottom weight but drops markedly in distance, which is concerning.

This looks a good opportunity for THE LIFFEY (nap) to complete a quick hat-trick of wins at the track. Una Matata looks the danger

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (10/1 +29%)Blue Anthem |
10/1(+29%) | (6) Blue Anthem 10/1, Bit below form beaten 5l in a handicap here last time; in good form prior; effective 5-7f, acts on a sound surface; bounce back needed. Expected to come on for C&D yard debut run 3 weeks ago and 2lb lower now. |

BISHOPTON returns following a mini-break and is well suited by this C&D. He followed up a course maiden win last August with a second success in September at Down Royal and while his rating has climbed, he was only beaten a half-length on his most recent start and he is now partnered by a 5lb claimer. Stablemate Whistling Jamesie won an ordinary nursery here last October, while fellow three-year-old Spinning Around scored narrowly over track and trip a few days later.

It may pay to side with the reappearing three-year-olds, Spinning Around and WHISTLING JAMESIE, the latter marginally preferred

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (16/1 +0%)Cosmic Force |
16/1(+0%) | (12) Cosmic Force 16/1, Ran to recent level beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; effective 6/7f on AW; needs more. 13-race m'den, placed just once; not beaten far in sixth over 6f here two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (16/1 +11%)Vibrato |
16/1(+11%) | (5) Vibrato 16/1, Head high under pressure when beaten 3l off a 2lb higher mark here last time; usually held up; effective 7/8f, acts on fast ground but best form largely on AW; attitude a worry. Four-time British AW winner; enters 0-60 company now and returns to winning distance. |

25/1(+0%) | (15) Carrickfinn 25/1, Again below form beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap here last time; effective 7/8f, suited by AW; frustrating maiden. Reserve; maiden after 20 starts; close fourth over 1m last July; 2lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (28/1 +0%)Qvee |
28/1(+0%) | (10) Qvee 28/1, Struggled on deep ground when down the field in a handicap at Gowran Park most recent; hood first time; effective 7f on good; return to a sounder surface may help. Minor promise in m'dens; tongue tie left off following tailed off Gowran h'cap debut. |

JAZZY DANCER is a four-time winner with useful recent form. An able and consistent handicapper at this level, he is just 1lb higher than when finishing second here recently. Fellow veteran Comfort Line finished narrowly ahead of Sakakawea last week and both have obvious claims, while Roman Harry wasn't beaten far into fourth last time. Jasmine Affanalis has yet to show much on the all-weather, but she was progressive last summer and should benefit from a recent reappearance run when a huge market drifter.

Five-time winner WINEMAKER was in good form here before a poor turf run last time. He can go well if on song

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (10/1 +17%)Jazz Forever |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (14/1 +22%)Desert Friend |
14/1(+22%) | (11) Desert Friend 14/1, Bit keen and never competitive beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap here last time; effective up to 13f, acts on soft, good and AW; needs to settle over this new trip. Two of seven wins came over 2m in Britain; well held by several of these on recent form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (20/1 +9%)Circus Act |
20/1(+9%) | (8) Circus Act 20/1, Never in the race, needed run down the field in a handicap hurdle at Leopardstown most recent; effective 14-16f on AW; chance if back to best returning to AW. Dual hurdles winner was a decent fourth at Sligo in May; not out of it at her best. |

NUMIDIA was well beaten on his most recent start but has proven stamina and scored over C&D in November. A four-time winner, the keen-going eight-year-old did a little too much when making the running here in January and if he reverts to his previous form, he should go well in this winnable handicap. Mephisto did very well in good-ground staying hurdle races last summer and although pulled up in September, he has been freshened up and has form over track and trip. Sarmiento Power steps up to this distance for the first time, while Deluca Chop's best form is over shorter.

Scoring over 1m4f following a similar break in September, SARMIENTO POWER is a big player if this new trip can get some more from him

(2) (20/1 -43%)Lamar River |
20/1(-43%) | (2) Lamar River 20/1, Outpaced when well beaten in a maiden at the Curragh only start; big gelding, should come on a ton for debut effort and his experience could prove valuable. Never sighted in recent Curragh maiden, likely best watched. |

Robson De Aguiar has a large team of juveniles and MARIA QUITERIA appears to be the trainer's first string here. Bought for 25,000 euros at the Orby Sale last September, she is out of a winning mare who has already produced an American sprint winner and she should know her job on debut. Stablemate Belle Island is a half-sister to four winners, while Whammy is out of a French juvenile winner.

Pretty much guesswork with only one with a run under her belt, a token selection being MARIA QUITERIA

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/1 +0%)Good Onya Mate |
9/1(+0%) | (2) Good Onya Mate 9/1, Improved on debut dropping in trip when beaten 8l in a maiden here last time; effective at 11f on AW; further drop in trip not certain to suit. Improved for switch to AW here last time when fifth; others more appealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

66/1(+18%) | (1) Bartolito 66/1, Struggled to get involved after being slowly away well beaten in an auction race at Bellewstown only start; major improvement needed. Beaten 20l over this trip at Bellewstown on debut; hard to see him winning. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (100/1 +0%)Nelliestar |
100/1(+0%) | (9) Nelliestar 100/1, Made too much use of down in trip here last time; yet to show any ability and looks a no-hoper here. Has beaten precious few rivals in nine starts; put a line through her. |

100/1(+0%) | (12) Siofra Beag 100/1, Again ran to a poor level well beaten in a maiden here latest; looks in need of more time and handicaps. Triple-figure odds in four course m'den starts; very unlikely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (100/1 -25%)Pure Valour |
100/1(-25%) | (11) Pure Valour 100/1, Never involved when well beaten in a maiden at the Curragh only start; big, workmanlike sort, looked slow on debut. Beaten 28l in a Curragh m'den 12 days ago at 80-1; hard to fancy. |

WILD SAPPHIRE is lightly raced and contests an ordinary maiden. Out of a middle-distance Group 2-winning sister to Kyprios, he has clearly had some issues but nonetheless has shown promise and, if he reproduces his Leopardstown fourth, he should take all the beating. Gaiety Girl has recent solid form and bumped into a well-in winner here earlier this month. She is noted along with Tyraxes and Good Onya Mate.

No Nay Never gelding WILD SAPPHIRE has shown promise in his maidens and looks like the one to beat if sufficiently ready
