1st (5) (8/1 +68%)Leblon Beach |
8/1(+68%) | (5) Leblon Beach 8/1, Improved from debut when 7l third in a maiden here last time; top course jockey on board but plenty to find in this hotter maiden Well held in her first two races and clearly vulnerable to anything above average. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 -60%)First Approach |
4/1(-60%) | (2) First Approach 4/1, 14 Jan; No Nay Never colt; half-brother to Lisboa, a winner over 7f; dam high-class at 6f; more sharply bred than that; yard has won 3 of last 5 runnings of race; shortlisted Smart pedigree and he's one of two newcomers representing Ballydoyle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/2 +0%)Award Ceremony |
7/2(+0%) | (4) Award Ceremony 7/2, 18 Mar; No Nay Never filly; full-sister to Deneuve, smart at 6f; dam high-class at 6f; yard in good form; one for the shortlist Another newcomer by No Nay Never; bred to be smart and quick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (14/1 -115%)Mina Bonita |
14/1(-115%) | (6) Mina Bonita 14/1, Promising debut when 3l fourth in a Cork maiden five days ago; contender on that, and has potential to improve, but this is a hotter contest on quick turnaround Showed plenty of pace when fourth at Cork last week in what could be a good race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (1/1 -10%)Mission Central |
1/1(-10%) | (3) Mission Central 1/1, 25 Jan; 625,000gns No Nay Never colt; expensive purchase, albeit out of an unraced dam; yard has good record in race; gets the call with Ryan Moore on top 625,000gns yearling out of an unraced sister to 1m Group 1 winner Prosperous Voyage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (80/1 -21%)Cliadh Dubh |
80/1(-21%) | (1) Cliadh Dubh 80/1, 21 Apr; U S Navy Flag colt; half-brother to Leondina, a 2yo winner over 8f in Italy, bred to be sharper than that and dam useful at 7f, but faces a tough task on debut Half-brother to Italian 1m 2yo winner Leondina; dam unplaced 5f-1m. |

MISSION CENTRAL fetched 625,000gns at the sales last year and the son of No Nay Never, whose dam is a sister to Falmouth winner and 1000 Guineas runner-up Prosperous Voyage, is expected to make an immediate impact. His future does look likely to lie over further and if finding this test too sharp, his stablemate First Approach could be a real threat. Award Ceremony shouldn't be overlooked, especially if there is market confidence behind her, while Leblon Beach appeals most of those with previous experience.

The market should be instructive but the filly AWARD CEREMONY is bred to be sharp and edges preference over the Ballydoyle colts.

2nd (3) (5/1 -25%)Beano Power |
5/1(-25%) | (3) Beano Power 5/1, Bit better effort last time beaten 2l off 53 over C&D after well below par on AW debut following a break; yet to really show retains ability that she showed on turf last spring Not badly drawn in five and if getting a good early position she won't be far away. |

4/1(+11%) | (10) Jackandthefox 4/1, Well backed and dropped back 2f in trip when good effort beaten 1/2l off 47 over 6f here last time; yet to race over minimum trip and no guarantee will suit, but quite a reliable sort Second here last week over 6f; the worry now is dropping back in trip from a wide draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (5/1 +17%)My Girl Sioux |
5/1(+17%) | (2) My Girl Sioux 5/1, In good form and probably not ideally suited by the step-up to 6f when bit below best beaten 4l in a handicap here last time; drop back to minimum a positive; mark is a fraction stiff Had a wide trip when behind some of these here last week over 6f; consistent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (4/1 +11%)Rattletheonionbag |
4/1(+11%) | (7) Rattletheonionbag 4/1, Back to something like form beaten 1 1/4l off 49 over 6f here last time; not proven trip; looks reasonably treated at the weights if can recapture best Consistent maiden but hasn't had many runs over 5f and she's drawn wide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (6/1 -20%)She's Smart |
6/1(-20%) | (1) She's Smart 6/1, Probably needed race beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Bellewstown on reappearance; in solid form at the end of last season on turf, but no worthwhile form on the AW Ran last week at Bellewstown where she was slowly away and hung right throughout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (4/1 +50%)Turn Up The Beat |
4/1(+50%) | (5) Turn Up The Beat 4/1, Made too much use of beaten 2l off 51 here last time, but well backed when disappointed previous start and good runs are few and far between; well handicapped if today happens to be one of them Respected on his near miss in December and was drawn wide here the last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (33/1 -32%)No Speed Limit |
33/1(-32%) | (4) No Speed Limit 33/1, Slowly away down the field in a handicap over 6f here most recent run and probably made too much off poor effort previous start; goes well here generally and suited by 5f, but recent efforts are dissuasive Should be well treated but a 10yo now and opposable after his recent efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (22/1 -57%)Spirit Of Eagles |
22/1(-57%) | (8) Spirit Of Eagles 22/1, Ran well on the sand at Laytown in September, but below that both starts since and beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap over 7f at Down Royal last time; effective 5f, but off a break Can be hard to settle at the best of times and arrives here fresh after 193 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (28/1 -100%)Pinmoney |
28/1(-100%) | (6) Pinmoney 28/1, Well beaten all starts and probably flattered by proximity to winner when last of 9 latest; trainer in form; hard to assess accurately, but needs to show reliable form before becomes backable Down the field in all three races and goes handicapping with a lot to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (50/1 -150%)Far At Sea |
50/1(-150%) | (12) Far At Sea 50/1, No really worthwhile form in three starts though may have needed the race down the field in a maiden over 6f at Naas latest; first race on AW; plenty to prove No more than minor promise in 5f/6f maidens and has been off since August. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (80/1 -220%)Un Bacio Ancora |
80/1(-220%) | (11) Un Bacio Ancora 80/1, In poor form later stages of 2024 season; may prefer 6f and has plenty to prove off a break; mark has fallen a lot Out of form when last seen in October and has a strike-rate of 1-44. |

The vote goes to BEANO POWER, who kept on well for fourth over C&D last month. The daughter of Dandy Man was eased 1lb in the handicap for her troubles and, from a handy draw, should go very close. Pinmoney hasn't pulled up any trees so far, although the switch to handicaps could see him in a better light. Others to note include Rattletheonionbag and My Girl Sioux.

Drawn kinder this time, TURN UP THE BEAT (nap) is entitled to be right on the premises. Beano Power earns second preference.

1st (3) (1/1 -10%)Jorge Alvares |
1/1(-10%) | (3) Jorge Alvares 1/1, Beaten favorite when 3l third in an auction race over 8f last time; step back in trip should pose no problems; wears blinkers for the first time; contender Good form in Britain; ran well at Bellewstown last weekend when non-stayer at 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (15/8 +38%)Temperance |
15/8(+38%) | (7) Temperance 15/8, Fourth in a maiden over 7f at Cork latest; capable of contending in first- time cheekpieces dropped back in trip on a track that suits Another good run in defeat when behind respected opposition at Cork last weekend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (25/1 -25%)Hugo's Girl |
25/1(-25%) | (6) Hugo's Girl 25/1, Blew any chance at the gate beaten 3l in a handicap over 7f here last time; down in trip; has the pace for 6f but needs to break sharply Beaten seven times and has had her chances in modest handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (20/1 -25%)Heaven's Wish |
20/1(-25%) | (5) Heaven's Wish 20/1, 27,000 euros Magna Grecia filly; half-sister to Benacre, smart 2yo at 7f; dam high-class at 8f; tongue-tie first time; doesn't standout as a likely winner on debut 27,000euros yearling; bred to win races but market support would be welcomed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (3/1 -33%)Ze Do Asfalto |
3/1(-33%) | (4) Ze Do Asfalto 3/1, Appeared not to stay when fourth in an auction race over 8f here latest; steps back in trip; possibly suit 7f better but has plenty of pace, contender Has ability; probably failed to stay 1m last time but 6f could be too sharp. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (66/1 +0%)Ballymagreehan |
66/1(+0%) | (2) Ballymagreehan 66/1, Some minor improvement from debut when down the field in an auction race at Navan on last 2yo start; well held in both starts and all to do on return Uncompetitive in 6f maidens for Michael Halford; gelded ahead of stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (250/1 -279%)Cleverlydoesit |
250/1(-279%) | (1) Cleverlydoesit 250/1, Down the field in a maiden over 7f at Curragh last time out; steps back in trip; 4yo has it all to do on form giving weight to the 3yos Beaten 11l in a C&D claimer and then more than double that in a Curragh maiden. |

JORGE ALVARES failed to justify favouritism but finished a respectable third at Bellewstown last weekend and sets the standard with a rating of 82. With the addition of first-time blinkers, he could prove difficult to beat. Ze Do Asfalto was a shade disappointing when attempting to build on some second placings but only managing fourth over a mile here last time, although this drop in trip looks a good move. Temperance completes the shortlist.

This will likely concern JORGE ALVARES and Temperance who both ran fair races in defeat last weekend with preference for the former

2nd (2) (7/2 +61%)Mullacash Buzz |
7/2(+61%) | (2) Mullacash Buzz 7/2, Beaten narrowly in a handicap over C&D off 56 three starts back, but poor effort over hurdles and below for at 8f here since; back down in trip and could threaten if gets an easy lead Four-time C&D winner, 1lb above last win, poor latest but could rebound, can't discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (11/1 -83%)Hezahunk |
11/1(-83%) | (10) Hezahunk 11/1, Landed handicap by 1/2l off 40 over 6f here last time in first-time cheekpieces; probably gets 7f; up 4lb for win, but should be thereabouts if head gear works again Two time course winner at 6f, made all off 4lb lower latest, 7f a query, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/3 -21%)Bungle Inthedesert |
10/3(-21%) | (5) Bungle Inthedesert 10/3, Back to form under a straightforward ride when landing an apprentice handicap by 1 1/2l off 50 over 8f here last time; effective at 7f; up 5lb, but winning apprentice up and could go well Second course win over 1m latest, up 6lb, drop back to 7f a negative, others appeal more. |

11/4(+54%) | (9) Annie Lavinia 11/4, Bit blow best last twice though excuses latest when meeting traffic after being too keen; tongue-tie first time a worry, but fair mark if can recapture sparkle 0-5 on AW, denied a clear run when beaten 2l here latest, chance in first-time tongue-tie. |

6th (8) (33/1 -136%)Tynamite |
33/1(-136%) | (8) Tynamite 33/1, In poor form since a place here back in March 2024; last raced in July so returning from long layoff and retained ability to prove; impossible to recommend Veteran, three time C&D winner, on last successful mark, may need this after absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (14/1 -115%)Nikki Swango |
14/1(-115%) | (6) Nikki Swango 14/1, Better effort penultimate start beaten about 4l off 54 over C&D, but well beaten back on turf last time; mark has been falling, but can't be fancied given recent form 6f course winner, signs of revival when denied clear run over C&D latest, well handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

33/1(-106%) | (7) Allo Arry 33/1, Missed the break and never in contention latest on reappearance after a year off; impossible to know whether has retained ability, but well handicapped if has and possibly significant jockey booking Laytown winner at 7f, didn't show much on return from a year off, others preferred. |

9th (3) (66/1 -32%)Perseids |
66/1(-32%) | (3) Perseids 66/1, Down the field in a handicap over 6f (inadequate trip) at Fairyhouse most recent run back in May 2024; generally out of form prior to that and returning from long layoff; all to prove Failed to fire in four runs for this yard, off since poor effort last May, opposable. |

Hezahunk sprung a 50/1 surprise when making all to score over 6f here last week and attempts to prove that was no fluke off a 4lb higher mark. However, the vote goes to MACADAM'S ROCK, who occupied the runner-up berth over track and trip and his mark has kindly been left alone for that effort. With a repeat performance, he could be the one to beat. Last week's 1m course scorer Bungle Inthedesert is another to keep an eye on.

ANNIE LAVINIA gets the nod. She has shaped well on two of her last three C&D starts and she didn't get the clearest of runs last time

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (50/1 -100%)Leopold The First |
50/1(-100%) | (3) Leopold The First 50/1, Fair debut effort when beaten 7l in an auction race over C&D; entitled to improve but others make more appeal Overcame a slow start to finish midfield in Feb; that was an encouraging start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (1/1 +100%)Monkstown |
1/1(+100%) | (5) Monkstown 1/1, Yard won this last year; third, beaten 5 1/2l in a soft-ground maiden over 7f at Curragh on debut; up in trip; likely improver and an obvious contender Promising third at the Curragh when weak in the market and should improve on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (2/1 +33%)Drivers Seat |
2/1(+33%) | (1) Drivers Seat 2/1, Below form beaten 4l in final 2yo race at on yielding ground; first race on AW; acted on good ground; top course trainer, should bounce back to form Clear promise last season; bred to make a better 3yo and strong claims in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (13/2 -30%)Minaun View |
13/2(-30%) | (7) Minaun View 13/2, Looked overfaced in 7f Group 3 at Leopardstown on return; made debut in Listed class, obviously highly thought of and has to be a contender dropped back significantly in class Interesting to see what the market makes of her now sights are lowered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (300/1 -200%)Micasso |
300/1(-200%) | (4) Micasso 300/1, Slowly away down the field in a maiden over 7f at Curragh on final 2yo start; tongue-tie on here; first race on AW; not proven trip; beaten three horses in three starts Three heavy defeats last season (7f-1m) have earned him a basement mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (150/1 -733%)Glenroyal |
150/1(-733%) | (2) Glenroyal 150/1, Shown little in first two starts, latest over extended 9f; down in trip; trainer respected at the track but hard to fancy up in class Unfancied and well beaten in both races; bred to stay further and looks one for handicaps. |

Having shown plenty of ability with his debut third over 7f at the Curragh recently, MONKSTOWN makes the most appeal. The son of No Nay Never should have little difficulty with the extra furlong and a breakthrough victory could be on the cards. The biggest threat may emerge in the shape of Minaun View, who is sure to find this easier than the Leopardstown Group 3 she struggled in on her return. Drivers Seat is worth some thought too.

Aidan O'Brien has won six of the last eight renewals of this race and MONKSTOWN is fully entitled to step up on his Curragh run.

2nd (3) (5/2 -33%)Quickshot |
5/2(-33%) | (3) Quickshot 5/2, Seems to have progressed in three runs, best of those beaten 6l in a maiden over C&D last time; decent opening mark based on that and should contend H'cap debut, showed promise over C&D, didn't get home latest, may be suited by shorter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (20/1 +0%)Alumni Lia |
20/1(+0%) | (6) Alumni Lia 20/1, Improved up to this trip and in first-time cheekpieces when beaten 5 1/4l in a maiden here last time; a repeat would see her contend, but may rely on head gear working again second time of asking 0-3 on the AW, mild promise in C&D maiden latest, not obviously well-treated for h'cap bow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (3/1 -33%)Berto Ramirez |
3/1(-33%) | (1) Berto Ramirez 3/1, Probably needed the race on reappearance beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap over 10f at Leopardstown; in fairly solid form on AW before that; not proven trip; fair mark based on maiden form 0-2 on the AW, promise on h'cap debut over 1m2f at Leopardstown, 2lb lower here, go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (4/1 +38%)Sottsands |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (4/1 +60%)Ranting And Raven |
4/1(+60%) | (8) Ranting And Raven 4/1, Poor first two starts, but better effort up to a mile last time out at Thurles in October; trainer in form; first race on AW; up in trip; lot to prove off a break No show in 2yo maidens, bred to appreciate the step up in trip on h'cap bow, respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (10/1 -100%)Ohmali |
10/1(-100%) | (5) Ohmali 10/1, Minor promise down the field in good maidens first two starts, but disappointing final outing of 2024; hood first time; first race on AW; up in trip; fair mark at best, but plenty of questions to answer off a break No show in maidens, gelded and steps up in trip for h'cap bow, check the market; hood. |

Having weakened into fifth over track and trip last time out, Quickshot enters handicaps off what looks a workable mark. However, BERTO RAMIREZ posted a satisfactory eighth on his reappearance at Leopardstown 12 days ago and the combination of a 2lb lower figure and switch to Polytrack could prove the perfect tonic. Ohmali and Ranting And Raven are others to note on their handicap bows.

BERTO RAMIREZ wasn't beaten that far in a big field in his first handicap, he's 2lb lower and he should come on plenty for that run.

9th (6) (10/1 -122%)Waystar |
10/1(-122%) | (6) Waystar 10/1, Scored by 3/4l off 49 over 12f here (12f) penultimate start; similar form third beaten 3 1/4l off 54 last time; not really proven over 10f, but very consistent and has to enter calculations Won off 5lb lower here on penultimate over 1m4f, drop back to this trip not sure to suit. |

10th (12) (16/1 +0%)Together Aclaim |
16/1(+0%) | (12) Together Aclaim 16/1, Slowly away, but ran about to form beaten 3l off 46 over C&D last time; form does seem to have regressed and would look well handicapped if finding form of win here in February C&D winner off 2lb higher, ran well behind a few of these latest, yard in form, go well. |

11th (1) (9/2 +82%)Nika Pika |
9/2(+82%) | (1) Nika Pika 9/2, Out of form since placed off 65 here in January; return to a longer trip is a positive, but plenty to prove following recent poor showings 0-6 on AW, third over 1m4f off 65 in January, 5lb lower but hard to fancy on recent runs. |

12th (14) (66/1 -32%)Lady Montse |
66/1(-32%) | (14) Lady Montse 66/1, Appeared not to stay beaten 10l in a handicap over C&D last time, but had been in poor form; returning from a break; plenty more needed 0-5 on the AW, yet to trouble the judge, watch on first start for new yard after break. |

DOCTOR GRACE gave the strong impression a return to winning ways was imminent when going close over 1m4f at Bellewstown last weekend. Ado McGuinness' inmate struck off a higher mark on turf last year and is marginally preferred to Flier, who scored over C&D a fortnight ago, when Chopsticks (second) and Tyder (third) filled the places. Master Garvey has improved for the fitting of a tongue-tie and could be on the premises.

TOGETHER ACLAIM is now 2lb below his last winning mark, his yard is in form and if he gets a better start here, he can go close.
Ths is the racecard key.
