|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (18/1 +28%)Looking For Larry |
18/1(+28%) | (6) Looking For Larry 18/1, Perhaps not suited by the ground and probably didn't stay when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Taunton last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective at 2m4f, suited by good ground, and fairly treated on best course form but may need the run. Has won here but ran moderately the last twice and he's back from a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (3/1 +14%)Gillespie |
3/1(+14%) | (4) Gillespie 3/1, Looked awkward under pressure when fourth, beaten 17l in a maiden hurdle at Doncaster last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f, handles cut in the ground, and looks the type to do better in handicaps. Lightly raced and brings potential to his handicap career over this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (13/2 +74%)Bampton Star |
13/2(+74%) | (8) Bampton Star 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter last time. Effective up to 3m, acts on heavy and good ground, and may be suited by the return to hurdles. Three chase wins here; pulled up last twice but on a favourable mark back over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having improved on his fourth-placed reappearance over C&D when third, again over track and trip, 10 days later, DIAMATISTE looks more than capable of scoring at this level. The seven-year-old is still relatively lightly raced and Rian Corcoran's 3lb claim could prove fruitful. Tzarmix arrives on the back of a close-up second at Hereford and rates as the biggest danger, ahead of handicap debutant Gillespie.

A few of these should run well but the suggestion is DIAMATISTE who has a solid record at this track.

125/1(-150%) | (2) Alidam 125/1, Too keen when pulled up in a novice hurdle at Newton Abbot last time. Returns from a short break and was effective around 2m2f in France, suited by softer ground. Has something to prove now. Placed in France but folded tamely at Newton Abbot for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

3/1(+14%) | (3) Best Trump 3/1, Made a promising debut when winning a maiden point at Knockanard by 7 1/2l. Returns from a long layoff but proved effective at 2m4f on heavy ground in points. 200/1(-150%) | (5) Devon Paige 200/1, Outpaced and modest on debut when well beaten in a bumper at Taunton on his only start. Faces a tough task now switching to hurdles. Modest RPR in Taunton bumper. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Best Trump won going away on his sole outing between the flags and market support on his Rules bow would be interesting. Although the JP McManus-owned gelding cannot be dismissed, JOHNNY'S JURY might be the one to beat. The six-year-old posted a good third on his opening bid at Ffos Las almost a year ago and he could be worth chancing on his stable/seasonal debut. Limerick Star is also worth a second look.

With his sole effort having substance, JOHNNY'S JURY is preferred. Best Trump is second choice.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 +75%)El Granjero |
3/1(+75%) | (4) El Granjero 3/1, Made too much use of back from a break but ran to form when fourth, beaten 5l, in a handicap chase at Aintree last time. Trainer in form and returns off a short break. Effective from 2m4f to 3m1f on soft and good to soft ground, unexposed over fences and may yet improve. There's good reason to believe he can improve on his 5l defeat at Aintree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/2 +50%)Saint Anapolino |
11/2(+50%) | (5) Saint Anapolino 11/2, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 10l, in a handicap chase at Wincanton last time. Effective from 2m4f to 3m1f on a sound surface and could improve further. Has performed okay in his two handicap chases without genuinely threatening. |

4/1(-14%) | (7) Wicked Thoughts 4/1, Showed improvement and a good attitude on chase debut when winning a handicap by a neck off a 3lb lower mark at Taunton last time. Held on gamely to make a winning seasonal/chase debut at Taunton; just 3lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (11/2 +35%)First Confession |
11/2(+35%) | (2) First Confession 11/2, Made mistakes and went too freely when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Cheltenham last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (17/2 -42%)Toss Of A Coin |
17/2(-42%) | (1) Toss Of A Coin 17/2, Idled and improved after a wind operation when landing a handicap by 2l off a 5lb lower mark at Chepstow last time. Effective from 2m4f to 3m, acts on heavy and good to soft ground, and remains open to further progress now issues appear resolved. Stable debut when winning off 5lb lower at Chepstow and further progress is possible. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

SILVER THORN improved for the step up to this sort of distance when landing the spoils at Doncaster. A 6lb higher mark looks workable and there may be more to come. Having dug deep to make a winning chase bow at Taunton, Wicked Thoughts should give another bold bid, while his former stablemate Toss Of A Coin isn't easily dismissed after scoring on his first appearance for Alan Jones at Chepstow.

There's good reason to believe that EL GRANJERO (nap) can take a big step forward from his encouraging second chase run at Aintree.

10/1(+0%) | (6) Denemethy 10/1, Needed the run when fourth, beaten 21l, in a handicap chase here last time. Returns from a short break; effective 2m-2m4f; looks to have found his level. Probably has little margin for error off this mark but has each-way hopes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

11/2(+50%) | (10) Flash Gorcombe 11/2, Ran to his best when 7 1/2l third in a handicap chase at Wincanton last time. Effective 2m4f on soft and good; now below his last winning mark but needs to find more. C&D winner is on a competitive mark and returned to form with a third at Wincanton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (40/1 -21%)Boyles Hill |
40/1(-21%) | (9) Boyles Hill 40/1, Showed improvement on a poor chase debut when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Taunton last time. Effective 2m4f on heavy and good; may appreciate a longer trip. Well beaten in two chases; down the weights though and slower ground would help. |

15/2(+17%) | (8) Pilsdon Pen 15/2, Scored by a neck off a 2lb lower mark at Wincanton penultimate start; below form, didn't stay last time, same mark here; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on S, GS; drop in trip may help. Back over the right trip but replacing cheekpieces with blinkers casts some doubts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (80/1 -186%)Mount Tempest |
80/1(-186%) | (1) Mount Tempest 80/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Aintree last time after making mistakes; returns from a short break. Effective between 2m and 2m4f with cut over fences but needs to bounce back. Last two runs could be forgiven but he has top weight in a competitive race. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

GOOD FRIDAY FAIRY added another victory to his record over C&D last time and the progressive nine-year-old can follow up, despite a 4lb rise. Recent Ludlow winner Followcato remains unexposed and is an obvious threat to the selection. Big City Roller must be considered on his return to action and any market support for him would have to be noted.

This looks trappy. C&D winner FLASH GORCOMBE lurks on a low weight and arrives here after a more encouraging run at Wincanton.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ROBBER'S BRIDGE was not beaten far at all into third at Fontwell when last seen in August and it would be no surprise to see Dan Horsford's eight-year-old make a winning return to action. Tom Taggle's latest effort at Taunton in November suggests that he could be the main threat, although Olivia Kate and Locked Down Lad should not be discounted.

A chance is taken on TOM TAGGLE who ran quite well in a race not run to suit last time and Exeter is a track that could suit him well.

7th (11) (7/1 -75%)Kingcormac |
7/1(-75%) | (11) Kingcormac 7/1, Returned to form back from a break, benefitting from a patient ride off a strong pace when landing a handicap by 6l off a 6lb lower mark at Hereford last time; usually held up; effective at 2m4f and handles soft ground but inconsistent. Both wins have been over 2m5f at Hereford, latest on reappearance last month; a possible. |

50/1(-150%) | (9) Paddy In The Caddy 50/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Ludlow last time; enjoys racing prominently; effective at 2m on decent ground; now back below last winning mark but has struggled this season. Three wins last season but has been disappointing this term; plenty to prove at present.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Kingcormac has to be respected following his Hereford success last month, but the 10-year-old is 6lb higher now and this is much tougher. With that in mind, preference is for HAAS BOY, whose latest efforts over hurdles suggest that he may be on a good mark now returned to fences. Royal Mer edges out Passing Kate to be next best.

Although Royal Mer ran well when second at Wincanton, preference is for BONZA BOY who should improve on his reappearance run.

28/1(+30%) | (11) Malinaero 28/1, £24,000 Malinas gelding; first foal of a mare who won a bumper; from a good yard but looks an unlikely winner on debut. £24,000 3yo; first foal out of a bumper and 2m1f-2m7f hurdle winner. |

|PU| (9) (200/1 -33%)Keepsoldieringon |
200/1(-33%) | (9) Keepsoldieringon 200/1, Outpaced and poor debut when well beaten in a maiden bumper at Newton Abbot on only start; off a short break and likely to need more time. Suffered a heavy defeat at Newton Abbot where he was friendless in the betting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

I'm Wide Awake sets the form standard but he could be vulnerable to some interesting newcomers in this field. LE COLD GREY cost 95,000 euros and is a half-brother to the high-class Gaillard Du Mesnil. With that in mind, the five-year-old gets the nod, while Blackswan D'oroux was purchased for 155,000 euros and is another related to some smart performers.

This might be a decent bumper. BLACKSWAN D'OROUX is related to some smart horses and he was an expensive 3yo.
Ths is the racecard key.
