The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Dutch Corner and Constellation Walk have shown promise and are solid options for the shortlist, while Elusive Pb also has the potential to kick on and is one to monitor in the betting. However, MY BOY AARON took a big step forward on his previous hurdles form when a creditable third in a deeper race at Newbury and staying in maiden company could be a good move.

Preference is for CONSTELLATION WALK, who dips back into a maiden after running well in a good-quality handicap.

11th (13) (25/1 -79%)Klervia |
25/1(-79%) | (13) Klervia 25/1, Below form, may haver found ground a bit quick comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot last time; returning from long layoff; effective 2m-2m4f on good to soft and good; might need this. 66/1(-230%) | (1) The Jam Man 66/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Hereford latest; effective at 3m with cut; regressive since layoff and back hurdling now. In poor form for new stable this season but still worth a check in the betting. |

80/1(-21%) | (18) Elfride 80/1, Another poor effort when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter most recent; off a short-break; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on soft and good; regressive. Struggled last year and competes from 6lb out of handicap today; had wind op in January. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Local Derby can be forgiven for unseating Freddie Gordon after surprising the rider by jumping the path in between flights at Fontwell. He can figure if bouncing back to the form of his Wincanton success. However, preference is for SPECIAL JOHN, who won over 3m here on similar ground in November, before following up Wincanton soon after. He drops back down in class now reverting to hurdles, after failing to complete the hat-trick last time out, and may be revived with first-time cheekpieces added. Loki's Mischief and Pop's Folly also warrant close inspection.

Progressive over fences for his new stable this season, SPECIAL JOHN is taken to exploit a lower hurdle mark.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (5/1 +38%)Eton Mes |
5/1(+38%) | (3) Eton Mes 5/1, Travelled, ran to form even though race maybe came too soon when third at Ffos Las latest; effective 2m-2m5f on heavy and good to soft; in fine form but new mark has kicked in. Won first two h'caps and latest run may have come too soon; might still have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (14/1 -75%)Ri Na Cuirte |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (13/2 -136%)Madajovy |
13/2(-136%) | (9) Madajovy 13/2, Ran to form up in trip in first-time cheekpieces when second beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton latest; effective at 2m3f-3m1f on a sound surface; from good yard and may do better still. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (22/1 -238%)Allstitchedup |
22/1(-238%) | (5) Allstitchedup 22/1, Too keen but ran to form when fourth beaten 22l in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las latest; returning from a break; effective 2m4f on soft; wind op has helped, more to come now handicapping. Makes h'cap debut after 2nd wind op; interesting, especially if attracting market support. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (150/1 -500%)Son Of Hypnos |
150/1(-500%) | (2) Son Of Hypnos 150/1, Ran to form when well beaten in a handicap at Gowran Park latest; returning from a break; effective 2m-2m3f over hurdles; bit to find back hurdling. Flat, hurdle and chase winner in Ireland but the last of those victories was in July 2024. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Eton Mes was 7lb well in at Ffos Las most recently but failed to capitalise and looks vulnerable now his new mark has kicked in. Therefore, NOBLE BLUE could be more profitable to follow. A dogged second over C&D last month, this six-time point-to-point winner should be much wiser to the task in hand. Snapdance and Madajovy are both consistent and command respect. Ri Na Cuirte is a previous course winner to also consider.

The lightly raced bottom weight SNAPDANCE has been running well in defeat and is taken to get off the mark. Madajovy is feared.

(1) (7/4 +73%)Sherborne |
7/4(+73%) | (1) Sherborne 7/4, Ran to form when 12l third in a handicap chase at Taunton most recent run; effective 2m4f-2m6f, acts on any; mark keeps easing and can go well. Consistent; won off 1lb higher, beating Bonza Boy, on last attempt at Exeter; solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (7/4 +56%)Saint Cyr De Pail |
7/4(+56%) | (5) Saint Cyr De Pail 7/4, Scored by 7l off a 5lb lower mark here three starts back; departed early here latest; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on any; still on fair mark on hurdle form and can go well. Exited early last time; scored over C&D in December but that Class 5 race fell apart. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (3/1 +50%)Captain Boudet |
3/1(+50%) | (4) Captain Boudet 3/1, Helped set it up for closer, ultimately finishing 35l third in a handicap chase at Taunton most recent run; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on heavy and good; inconsistent. Inconsistent this term but the return to this C&D may have a positive effect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (10/1 -344%)First Angel |
10/1(-344%) | (3) First Angel 10/1, Ran to form in landing a handicap by 7 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Taunton last time; off a long absence; effective 2m, suited by decent ground; good mark if fit for return. Has stamina to prove back up in trip and wellbeing to prove on return from absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A winner over these fences in January, BONZA BOY found one too good on testing going at Wincanton last time. Jeremy Scott's charge looks worthy of another chance off his current mark back on more suitable ground and is taken to resume winning ways. First Angel won nicely at Taunton at the start of 2025, but he will likely improve for this belated reappearance, so Sherborne could prove to be a bigger danger.

There's a watertight case to be made for in-form BONZA BOY (nap), who is first choice ahead of Sherborne.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (40/1 +20%)Sans Of Gold |
40/1(+20%) | (13) Sans Of Gold 40/1, Needed run when well beaten in a handicap chase at Wincanton latest; blinkers first time; effective 2m4f-2m6f; exposed maiden needs more. 0-17 under all codes; 11lb wrong here and needs major help from the new headgear. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Voleur De Terres landed a brace on testing ground last month and it remains to be seen if she's as effective on this faster surface raised 6lb. Getaway King's winning streak came to an abrupt end at Plumpton, but STEAL THE MOVES produced his best effort over fences so far when second at Ffos Las. Beaten only a length in first-time cheekpieces that day, there could be more to come in the headgear and the son of Leading Light gets the nod.

The vote goes to Nicky Henderson's class-dropper DYNO DAVE, who has shown some significant promise and remains unexposed.

INK BLACK HEART made a pleasing introduction at Wincanton in January of last year before chasing a subsequent Listed winner home at Wetherby on his stable bow in December. There are a few that could trouble the selection, namely Fine Tuning, but his form is by far the strongest on offer and minimal progress might suffice. The 130,000-euro purchase River Kwai warrants a market check ahead of his debut, while similar applies to point winner Eastern Rock.

With the form of his Wetherby second having been franked, INK BLACK HEART can go one better. River Kwai is second choice.

(12) (100/1 -203%)For Rita |
100/1(-203%) | (12) For Rita 100/1, Pulled up in a mixed open point at Kingston Blount latest; effective at 3m in points on a sound surface; others preferred under rules. Won three minor points last spring but failed to complete both races last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Enqarde sprang a shock to win at odds of 50-1 at Leicester three weeks ago but although respected this time, he might struggle conceding weight to MACKLIN. A seven-time winner between the flags, including a wide-margin success last month, the 10-year-old boasts the highest official rating and looks sure to go close. Crawter won a similar contest at Cheltenham in May and should not be underestimated with Paddy Barlow taking 3lb off his back.

This looks good for prolific pointer MACKLIN, who returned from a layoff with an emphatic open win at Badbury Rings last month.
Ths is the racecard key.
