12:13 Exeter (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

In a moderate event it is hard to oppose SPARKLING DUKE, who made a winning Rules return over 2m4f at Ffos Las a couple of weeks ago. A 5lb rise for that success may not be enough to stop the six-year-old from following up in this company. See The Green has made the frame the last twice and is likely to be in the mix once again. The rest all have questions to answer, but I Look How I Look is the pick of them.

There are sizeable question marks over all of these but SPARKLING DUKE seems the most solid option.

12:48 Exeter (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GENTLEMAN TOBOOT accounted for a subsequent Cheltenham handicap winner when scoring on his hurdling bow at Newton Abbot in October. On that evidence, David Pipe's gelding can follow up despite a 6lb penalty. Klub De Reve is likely to pose the biggest threat after his Newbury fourth last month. Tennessee Tango edges out Phineas Bunce to be best of the rest.

Judged on his solid Newbury form, KLUB DE REVE may well take advantage of the 6lb he receives from Gentleman Toboot.

LTO Selection:

13:23 Exeter (Class 3) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

All of these have claims, but marginal preference is for BRENTFORD HOPE. Harry Derham's charge was well held when fourth on his chasing debut at Cheltenham last month, but that was still a promising effort given that it was a Grade 2 event. Joyeuse bumped into a useful mare at Bangor and she should not be discounted. Beat The Bat may be a bigger threat than Mirabad, although the latter has the benefit of a recent outing over hurdles.

The percentage call goes to BEAT THE BAT who, judged on hurdles form, brings solid claims to this first attempt over fences.

13:58 Exeter (Class 3) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ROYAL JEWEL represents last year's winning yard and arrives on the back of a fine second at Ascot. The consistent six-year-old scored at Newton Abbot prior to that and can make the most of this drop in class. U Cant Be Serious made a winning chase debut over C&D on his return to action and there looks to be more to come from him. He's preferred to Donnacha, who will be sharper for an outing at Ffos Las in October.

With further improvement on the cards, U CANT BE SERIOUS (nap) may well complete a C&D double. Royal Jewel is second pick.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JACK HOOLA is taken to continue his good progress, despite a 6lb higher mark than last time. The winner of two of his last three starts, this faster surface is not an issue and Tom Lacey's charge can go in again. Broomfield Gale returns to action with a shout and could prove a bigger threat than Clear Storm, who landed a messy amateurs' race at Plumpton last month.

Being ahead of the assessor, CHEDINGTON'S GUEST has a good chance of opening his account. Jack Hoola is second choice.

(3) The Big Breakaway 11/2, Needed the run when fourth, beaten 15l, in a handicap chase over 3m at Sandown last time. Effective at 3m or further and handles any ground, though his strike rate is poor and enthusiasm remains a concern.
Minor honours at 3m5f to end last term; presumably needed reappearance; no win for 5 years.

(5) Puddlesinthepark 9/1, Won by 11l off 110 over 3m4f at Ffos Las on his penultimate start. Effective at 3m or further, goes well with cut, and progressive over fences, though the handicapper may now have his measure.
Five chase wins this year but he needs to bounce back from 33l defeat in Southern National.

(2) Moroder 14/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m1f at Cheltenham last time. Suited by good ground and 3m, but can be unreliable and prefers to dominate from the front.
Achieved little in his two runs this autumn but won a notable race in March off this mark.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

On the assumption that ART DECCO will have come forward for his Fontwell reappearance in October, the nine-year-old could be well placed to strike here as a previous C&D winner. Fuji Flight may have also improved for his latest Huntingdon fourth and could be in the mix, while it wouldn't be a surprise to see The Big Breakaway get involved.

Art Decco and Puddlesinthepark are shortlisted but bottomweight ASTRONOMIC VIEW is an intriguing proposition with today's trip.

15:38 Exeter (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Joe Tizzard's horses have been running very well and SAILING BY could be the one in the finale following his encouraging introduction in a Chepstow bumper last month. He's entitled to have improved for the run and makes more appeal than Sirgreg, a debutant representing another in-form stable. Keep an eye on I'm Wide Awake and Jpr Two as well.

Aptly named JPR TWO has strong credentials and is taken to emulate his best sibling JPR One by winning at Exeter on his debut.
