1/12(+38%) | (1) Broomfield Aderra 1/12, May not have stayed when comfortably held in Listed Mares' Novices' Hurdle at Doncaster last time; in good form prior; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on good to soft; sets a clear standard here. Talented mare and very difficult to oppose given what she's up against here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (13/2 -8%)Ka Mate Du Brivet |
13/2(-8%) | (2) Ka Mate Du Brivet 13/2, Moderate debut under rules when down the field in a bumper at Southwell most recent; effective at 3m in points; must be capable of better now upped in trip and hurdling for good stable. Irish point winner; disappointing in a bumper but surely he's better than that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (20/1 +9%)Willshebe Court |
20/1(+9%) | (3) Willshebe Court 20/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Plumpton latest; off a short-break; longer trip could suit but massive improvement needed. No show in bumpers; 100-1 when pulled up on her hurdling introduction at Plumpton. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The step up in class and distance proved too big an ask for BROOMFIELD ADERRA in Listed company at Doncaster. Dan Skelton's charge finished a close third in a decent handicap at Aintree prior to that and a repeat effort would suffice back in novice company for this. Well beaten in a bumper last month, the point-to-point winner Ka Mate Du Brivet could fare better now hurdling. He's preferred to Willshebe Court of the remaining pair.

Dan Skelton's BROOMFIELD ADERRA was progressing nicely until last time and on all known form this looks her's to lose.

(6) (2/1 +20%)Kylenoe Dancer |
2/1(+20%) | (6) Kylenoe Dancer 2/1, Ran to form appreciating step up in trip and better ground landing a handicap by 3 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark here last time; trainer in form; returning from long layoff; effective 2m-2m4f, suited by sound surface; in excellent form when last seen but absent over 10 months. Back from another layoff but a winner last time and still lightly raced; raised 6lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (11/4 -10%)Geordies Betty |
11/4(-10%) | (4) Geordies Betty 11/4, Ran to form when second beaten 6l in a maiden hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee latest; effective 2m, acts with cut; more to come now handicapping up in trip. Lightly raced and this marked step up in trip could benefit on her handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/2 +0%)Motazzen |
7/2(+0%) | (3) Motazzen 7/2, Never competitive back on AW when beaten 8l in a handicap at Southwell last time; effective 12-16f on a sound surface; bit to prove back on the Flat. Last two runs (hurdle/AW) weren't his best but his form here heightens interest. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (13/2 +7%)Wot You Wearing |
13/2(+7%) | (7) Wot You Wearing 13/2, Best work late down in trip when 14l third in a handicap hurdle at Taunton most recent run; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on soft and good to firm; step back up in trip may help. He was looking when regressive but did run better to finish a 14l third at Taunton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/1 +39%)Vendant |
11/1(+39%) | (5) Vendant 11/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle here latest; returning from long layoff; effective 2m3f-3m1f with cut; might need this. Ability respected but there are wellbeing issues after so long out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (14/1 -17%)Godot |
14/1(-17%) | (1) Godot 14/1, Disappointing hurdles return in first-time blinkers when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time; effective 2m4f, suited by plenty of cut, acts on good; form in and out this term. Three-time winner but arrives here in no sort of form and all headgear now left off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GEORDIES BETTY lost a front shoe at Bangor last time, but still finished a resolute second. She gave the strong impression this extra yardage would suit in the process and conditional rider Freddie Keighley has been among the winners of late. Third here in January, Motazzen reverts to hurdling with a shout after a recent spin on the all-weather. He can feature, along with the returning Kylenoe Dancer, who scored over 2m3f here last May.

The suggestion is MOTAZZEN (nap) who has a good record at this track. Geordies Betty is the second choice.

(6) (13/8 +46%)Tom Desjy |
13/8(+46%) | (6) Tom Desjy 13/8, Still green, made mistakes, never in the race when down the field in a novice hurdle at Kempton most recent; cheekpieces first time; off a short-break; effective at 3m in points; switch to fences offers hope. Nothing in three runs over hurdles but point form reads well; chase/handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (11/4 +0%)Ronnies Reflection |
11/4(+0%) | (2) Ronnies Reflection 11/4, Ran to form when 6l third in a handicap chase at Leicester most recent run; effective 2m4f-2m7f, suited by cut; can go well again. Consistent gelding with C&D form and needs respecting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (4/1 +27%)Daring Plan |
4/1(+27%) | (5) Daring Plan 4/1, No obvious excuse when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Hereford last time; effective 2m-2m6f witth cut; in moderate form. The odd run offers hope but remains a maiden and has become inconsistent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/2 +0%)Kitsilano |
9/2(+0%) | (1) Kitsilano 9/2, Ran to form but made bit too much use of when third at Plumpton latest; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on heavy, good to soft; back in form for new yard, can go well again. Two good runs after a wind operation but drying ground might not be favourable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (11/2 +15%)Valirann Gold |
11/2(+15%) | (4) Valirann Gold 11/2, Never travelled, resented the blinkers when fourth beaten 33l in a handicap chase here latest; effective 2m-2m5f, suited by some cut; races lazily, frustrating type. Even when on a good day he's very hard to win with (2-41 under rules). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KITSILANO won nicely at Leicester before finding life tougher in a higher grade at Plumpton. He still finished a respectable third, given the winner has subsequently gone in again, and David Bridgwater's inmate gets another chance back at this level. Ronnies Reflection is usually in the mix off his current mark and is likely to prove competitive once again, while Daring Plan is worthy of a second glance.

A chance is taken on TOM DESJY in the hope that chase/handicap debutant can tap into the promise he showed in his Irish point.

Major form claims and hard to beat if accepting the two new forms of headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (5/1 +33%)Jambon |
5/1(+33%) | (3) Jambon 5/1, Again too keen and didn't get home when fourth beaten 15l in a maiden hurdle here latest; effective at 2m3f with cut; can do better over hurdles if settling. Held every chance when falling in third Irish point; has shown some promise under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (6/1 +40%)Grizzled Squirrel |
6/1(+40%) | (8) Grizzled Squirrel 6/1, Improved but failed to beat a rival, might have needed run beaten 7l in a Mares' bumper at Ascot last time; in good form prior; effective 2m-2m2f, acts on good to soft and good; possible improver now hurdling. Advanced his RPR despite finishing last of the nine runners in a bumper at Ascot. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (13/2 +41%)Last Round |
13/2(+41%) | (4) Last Round 13/2, Improved from debut but looked in need of stiffer test when 51l third in a novice hurdle at Newbury most recent run; showed promise in points and could improve for top yard when upped in trip. Beaten 33l and 51l in two runs over hurdles, though the latest was behind Sober Glory. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (16/1 +0%)Graeme The Grey |
16/1(+0%) | (1) Graeme The Grey 16/1, Improved a little when 17l third in a bumper at Sandown most recent run; returning from a break; effective at 2m-2m2f, acts on soft and good to soft; improvement possible now hurdling. Showed a bit in bumpers, though was no closer than 16l in any of them. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (18/1 -50%)Khalk'eau Spigao |
18/1(-50%) | (9) Khalk'eau Spigao 18/1, Some promise on debut amidst greenness when 20l fourth in a juvenile hurdle here first-time out; returning from a break; effective at 2m3f with cut; improvement likely. A disappointing favourite when beaten 20l in a juvenile hurdle here in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (20/1 +0%)The Quant |
20/1(+0%) | (5) The Quant 20/1, Moderate debut well beaten in an Amateurs' bumper at Chepstow only start; off a short-break; surely capable of better now hurdling. Never threatening and tailed off in a soft-ground Chepstow bumper two months ago (16-1). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (50/1 +24%)I'm Wide Awake |
50/1(+24%) | (2) I'm Wide Awake 50/1, Improved on moderate debut over hurdles when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Exeter last time; effective 2m, acts with cut; needs more over hurdles. Bumper efforts make for better reading than his two tailed-off efforts over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (100/1 -52%)Trooper |
100/1(-52%) | (6) Trooper 100/1, Poor hurdles debut well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Taunton latest; off a short-break; German Flat winner, may just need some more hurdles experience. 5-25 on the Flat; 33-1 and tailed off on hurdle debut when in a different yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

UNKNOWN ENTITY faced a stiffer test when pitched into a premier handicap at Sandown and should find this level a good deal easier. With a hood and tongue-tie combination tried, Dan Skelton's well-bred gelding could be hard to beat back in maiden company. Greenness got the better of Khalk'eau Spigao when he was introduced here in November. He was a well-backed favourite on that occasion and evidently more was expected. Jambon and hurdling debutant Grizzled Squirrel also command respect.

It's difficult to get away from UNKNOWN ENTITY for whom a persuasive case can be made on all his three runs for Dan Skelton.

(2) (11/4 +0%)Mon Champion |
11/4(+0%) | (2) Mon Champion 11/4, Did it cosily, improved down in class in reapplied cheekpieces when landing a handicap by 13l off a 6lb lower mark here last time; effective 2m-2m6f, acts with cut; remains capable of better. A 13l winner on soft here last time and a 6lb rise could have been worse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (10/3 +17%)Superstylin |
10/3(+17%) | (7) Superstylin 10/3, Ran to form beaten 3 1/4l off a 1lb lower mark at Plumpton last time; off a short-break; effective 2m-2m2f, acts on soft and good; in good form. Consistent but he has been edging up the weights and he's 2lb out of the handicap here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (4/1 +20%)Alright Dai |
4/1(+20%) | (5) Alright Dai 4/1, Poorly placed in race dominated from front, flattened out after series of errors when third at Fontwell latest; effective 2m4f-3m2f, acts on soft and good; more to come over fences if jumping improves. C&D winner; when a 6l third off this mark at Sedgefield his jumping could have been better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (6/1 -9%)Alien Storm |
6/1(-9%) | (1) Alien Storm 6/1, Outpaced, rallied, ran to best when landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark at Doncaster last time; returning from a break; effective 2m-2m4f on a sound surface; steadily progressing over fences. Consistent in victory and defeat this season; has run well on his two previous visits here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (13/2 +41%)Le Galli Bier |
13/2(+41%) | (8) Le Galli Bier 13/2, Did plenty early and set it up for closers tried in cheekpieces when 10l third in a handicap chase at Plumpton most recent run; effective 2m4f, acts on most ground; can again go well. Hasn't been finding masses in the finishes of his races and he's 2lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (15/2 +0%)Rip Wheeler |
15/2(+0%) | (3) Rip Wheeler 15/2, Ran to form, just tiring late on up in trip tried in cheekpieces behind well treated rival when runner-up here; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on soft and good; generally consistent. Tired behind Mon Champion last time but this drier surface brings him into it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/1 -6%)Koenigsstern |
9/1(-6%) | (6) Koenigsstern 9/1, Ran to form, benefitting from drop in grade when second beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap chase at Plumpton latest; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on good but best with cut; back on workable mark. Stuck to his task and just got the better of Le Galli Bier for 2nd last time at Plumpton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (10/1 +29%)The Gypsy Davey |
10/1(+29%) | (4) The Gypsy Davey 10/1, Again well below form when fourth beaten 43l in a handicap chase at Plumpton latest; enjoys making it; effective 2m4f-2m7f on a sound surface; might need this. Dual chase winner who has been running better than his recent heavy defeats may imply. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

MON CHAMPION scored readily over C&D 13 days ago and had enough in hand to suggest a 6lb rise shouldn't be too inconvenient at this stage. Rip Wheeler was 13 lengths back in second on that occasion and can get closer when taking into account the revised terms, with better ground also in his favour. Alright Dai is another track-and-trip winner to consider, while Superstylin also likes it here and cannot be ruled out.

Back on a less taxing surface, RIP WHEELER has a sporting chance of reversing recent course placings with Mon Champion.

(3) (15/8 +32%)Juggernaut |
15/8(+32%) | (3) Juggernaut 15/8, Jumped left, below form, unsuited by track when 17l third in a handicap chase at Taunton most recent run; off a short-break; effective 2m-2m5f, acts on soft and good, appears to need to go left handed; consistent. Has been running respectably in defeat over fences and he's a capable hurdler. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (5/2 +0%)Test The Market |
5/2(+0%) | (1) Test The Market 5/2, Ran to form when second beaten 4l in a novice hurdle at Stratford latest; effective 2m on good; in form. Runner-up in both hurdle races and this 5yo brings potential into handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (7/2 +13%)Hello Cello |
7/2(+13%) | (2) Hello Cello 7/2, Fell four out in a handicap chase at Taunton latest; trainer in form; off a short-break; effective around 2m4f, acts on good to soft; back hurdling after a fall. Chasing not gone to plan; back over hurdles and won over C&D in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (5/1 +9%)Bridge |
5/1(+9%) | (5) Bridge 5/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster latest; effective at around 2m, acts on any; remains competitively weighted if bouncing back. A chance on some of his form but he's looking a hard horse to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (10/1 -11%)Dr Waksman |
10/1(-11%) | (4) Dr Waksman 10/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton latest; cheekpieces first time; effective at 2m on soft; mark demands more. Has been struggling under both codes and new cheekpieces need to make a difference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (14/1 -17%)Jacquetta |
14/1(-17%) | (7) Jacquetta 14/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Lingfield latest; off a short-break; improvement needed on handicap debut. Uncompetitive in his first three races; the market can guide on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (18/1 +64%)Mistress Fox |
18/1(+64%) | (6) Mistress Fox 18/1, Keen and made too much use of finishing well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Exeter latest; shown nothing in bumpers or over hurdles so far, all to prove. Has no clear form claims and she was 50-1 for handicap debut last time and ran accordingly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (20/1 +39%)Tommy Dillion |
20/1(+39%) | (8) Tommy Dillion 20/1, Didn't stay in strongly run race when fourth beaten 61l off 82 last time, 2lb lower here; effective 2m on soft and good; still on fair mark, unreliable. Poor latest run but was second then first in two races on his return to hurdling. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TEST THE MARKET has made a promising start over hurdles with two second-placed finishes since joining Jim Boyle. The son of Cracksman looks the most appealing option given his potential to make further progress and this could be a good bit of placement. Juggernaut is interesting back over hurdles, especially with a 10lb claimer in the plate. Hello Cello, a previous course winner, also reverts to timber on a reasonable mark and shouldn't be taken lightly.

The one with the most obvious upside is handicap newcomer TEST THE MARKET who ran up against a fair sort last time.
Ths is the racecard key.
