The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

It's hard to get away from MALDINI MILANO. Paul Nicholls' charge shaped with lots of promise when only finding one too good on his hurdles debut at Newton Abbot last month and would have learned a great deal from that experience. The drop in trip shouldn't pose any problems and he looks the way to go. Asta La Vista showed ability in his sole bumper start when fourth at Worcester and goes for the in-form Charlie Longsdon stable. Fountains Blenhein is the pick of the remainder.

A very respectable second on last month's hurdling debut at Newton Abbot, MALDINI MILANO is taken to build on that performance here.

Returns from a long layoff and showed plenty in that 3m point, suggesting he can make an impact over hurdles. Bought for £40,000 soon after going close on Irish point debut in January; market helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 -75%)Doctor On Call |
7/2(-75%) | (2) Doctor On Call 7/2, Quickened clear comfortably to win a bumper over 2m at Hereford by 3/4l on debut. Returns from a long layoff. 6/1(-80%) | (5) Kool Kid 6/1, Bit keen but made a very promising debut when winning a bumper at Hereford over 2m by a length last time. Returns from a long layoff. 25/1(-127%) | (6) Name Me Nicely 25/1, Raced wide on a promising bumper debut, beaten 8l in a 2m bumper at Ffos Las last time. Further than 2m should suit over hurdles, but he needs to find more. Just a respectable sixth in Ffos Las bumper on rules debut; improvement required. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DOCTOR ON CALL made a good impression to score on his bumper debut at Hereford last December and is a half-brother to smart hurdles/chase winner Martator. The five-year-old looks to have been found a good starting point over timber and will prove hard to beat. Fortune Timmy finished second between the flags in January before changing hands for 40,000 pounds and warrants a market check. Kool Kid completes the shortlist.

One of four bumper winners in the line-up, NAZARE ought to find this easier than the Newbury novice hurdle he contested in March.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (18/1 +28%)Mega Speculator |
18/1(+28%) | (2) Mega Speculator 18/1, Keen and made too much use of when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Newton Abbot last time; needed the run and has yet to show much over hurdles. Well held in selling handicap hurdle on recent stable debut; now makes chasing debut. |

300/1(-200%) | (8) Across The Ocean 300/1, Refused in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Market Rasen last time; hood on for the first time and remains out of form for his new yard. Refused to race when a 300-1 outsider at Market Rasen this month; makes no appeal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Dunskay sports a first-time tongue-tie on his handicap/chase bow and also takes a step up in trip, so he is one to watch out for. Lord Maher competes off a career-low rating and is noted, but the vote goes to GRAIN TRADE. The six-year-old struck in ready fashion by six lengths at Market Rasen last week and a 7lb penalty is unlikely to prevent him from following up, especially with the Billy Aprahamian stable in such great form.

Recent winner Grain Trade has a poor record on slow ground and is opposed with chase/handicap debutant DUNSKAY.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (250/1 -400%)Pate Mollee |
250/1(-400%) | (5) Pate Mollee 250/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Huntingdon last time; effective at 2m in France but yet to show anything for her new yard and may prefer easier ground. Nearly won a hurdle race in France but has accomplished little since arriving in Britain. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Plus Point produced a better effort when second at Worcester in May and makes her handicap debut in this sphere on her return to action. However, HELLO CELLO finished third in this grade over the same C&D in June and is now 1lb lower. If ready to go, she could be the one to beat. Clear Storm showed promise prior to falling at Market Rasen in July and is another to keep an eye on.

Fair Flat performer PLUS POINT showed improved form in her final run over hurdles and she could be entering handicaps off a handy mark.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (125/1 -89%)Gold Souk |
125/1(-89%) | (7) Gold Souk 125/1, Found little when beaten 7l in a 2m handicap at Kempton last time. Returning from a break; effective over 2m hurdles but out of form on the flat since coming back from a layoff. Out of form on the Flat this year and 12lb wrong on first hurdling start since 2023. |

Preparations are approaching full swing at the in-form Paul Nicholls yard and the multiple champion trainer has another key player in the returning PASO DOBLE. The eight-year-old has won when fresh in the past and he can exploit a handy rating back over hurdles. George's Lad was still in the mix when he fell in the EBF Final at Sandown and merits close inspection resuming at this level. Goodwin, a C&D winner on his penultimate start, completes the shortlist.

Topweight GEORGE'S LAD (nap) ran very well before his final-flight fall in a hot novices' handicap in March and can improve this season

Bottomweight OF CORSE I CAN displayed a willing attitude when winning twice this month (once over C&D) and is still on a good mark.

40/1(-150%) | (10) Jamaicaine 40/1, Stopped quickly and needed the run when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Worcester most recently; fair mark on best form but has had issues. Back from long absence with two heavy defeats this season; still worth a market check. |

(2) (50/1 -355%)Drumheller |
50/1(-355%) | (2) Drumheller 50/1, Below form when outclassed, finishing 47l third in a novice hurdle over 2m5f at Plumpton on his most recent run; has a bit to find. Safely held in his qualifying races and did not get far on handicap debut; back from break. |

(9) (66/1 -100%)Ballyhealy Diamond |
66/1(-100%) | (9) Ballyhealy Diamond 66/1, Keen and outpaced, outclassed when comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m3f here last time; returning from a break and more required. Showed no significant promise when a big-priced outsider for three novice/maiden hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JINGLE JANGLE JET could be set for further success if he picks up where he left off in March. That Newcastle triumph was the seven-year-old's final start for Philip Kirby, but this is no tougher and it could provide an ideal starting point for his career with Ben Pauling. Kopa Kilana has held his form well and looks worth another try over this sort of trip. Call Your Bluff merits a betting check.

Another chance is given to SLEMISH, who didn't really fire last time but was a very good second here two starts ago.
Ths is the racecard key.
