12:55 Fontwell (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Penalised for a hurdles win in France, TURENNE impressed with a close second on his debut for the David Pipe yard in a similar event at Catterick last month. The son of Zarak is entitled to have benefitted from the experience and should have more to offer. The Bellhop, who also carries a penalty for a C&D win in October, is feared the most. Rated the highest of those recruited from the Flat, Tenadaay is the pick rest.

Catterick runner-up TURENNE sets a fair standard and gets the vote ahead of previous C&D winner The Bellhop.

13:25 Fontwell (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ATREIDES is consistent and has the potential to be a better chaser than he is over hurdles. As he escapes a penalty for winning a conditionals' race over fences at 2m4f at Plumpton last week, the Neil Mullholland-trained seven-year-old could be ideally place to strike for back-to-back successes. Le Galli Bier and Easy To Follow are also unexposed in this discipline and merit close inspection in the betting.

The quick return is a slight query for ATREIDES but otherwise he should give it a good shot, with no penalty for a recent Plumpton win.

13:55 Fontwell (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A C&D winner on his handicap debut last month, MASK OF ZORRO has the scope to follow up follow up off just 7lb higher. With the trip and forecast ground suitable, the top-weight is an attractive proposition. The runner-up in that race, Nowyouvebinandunit, has a 5lb pull with the selection and is feared the most. Fellow last-time-out winners Ferret Jeeter and Bredon Hill Dart can also figure if cutting back in distance doesn't catch either of them out.

With more to come, MASK OF ZORRO can follow up last month's C&D success. Ferret Jeeter rates his chief danger.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SHOTGUN SHIRLEY won her bumper at Uttoxeter in October and was then deemed good enough for the Listed race at Cheltenham's November fixture. She ran a blinder to finish second that day and could be a smart recruit to the hurdling ranks. Pollyanna's Dream was seventh in that bumper at Prestbury Park and is noted along with course winner Shutfrontdoor.

Some well-connected types start their hurdle careers. SHOTGUN SHIRLEY gets the vote after a good Listed bumper run on soft last time.

It's difficult to oppose the hat-trick seeking LELANT. He has won impressively the last twice at Hereford and Market Rasen and his supporters will be pleased to see that Sean Bowen keeps the ride. Footloose Man is the sole C&D winner in the field and he too must be taken seriously, while it's also worth keeping an eye on Diamond Days.

The 5yo DIAMOND DAYS made a promising start to his chase career and may improve enough for the longer to get off the mark.

Bridge is a C&D winner and the market should tell us more about what is expected from him on his return from 598 days off the track. Keep an eye on his stable companion Our Papa Smurf too, but it's the race-fit CROSSBEAU who gets the nod in the finale on the back of his all-the-way Chepstow success under Sean Bowen last month.

Smart Casual is feared but the safest option is last-time-out winner CROSSBEAU (nap).

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
