|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (4/1 +33%)Hot Team |
4/1(+33%) | (4) Hot Team 4/1, Beaten by 10 lengths in a handicap over 11 furlongs at Carlisle last time; trainer in decent form; 6lb's lower than last winning mark; good previous course form; another good run at this track can be expected Four-time C&D winner; not sparkled this year but can't discount in this field. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

RAMPANT still had plenty to do with a furlong and a half to go when staying on to finish a fair third in a classified stakes at Wolverhampton recently. The five-year-old now drops back into a handicap and he could capitalise on a career-low mark. Jumeira Vision failed to land a blow at Musselburgh last time, but he has been dropped 1lb and is a previous course winner. Hot Team is another to note.

Hard to warm to many of these and JUMEIRA VISION is taken to resume winning ways at the main expense of Gemini Man.

BAGGOT STREET improved on her debut fourth when only finding a hot favourite too good at Ripon last month and she will have more improvement in her. The daughter of Oasis Dream looks to have found a nice opportunity and can put her experience to good use. Awaafi has speed in her pedigree and the Richard Fahey yard are in good form, so she warrants a market check on her debut. 60,000 pounds purchase Alasrae also needs to be monitored in the market.

Baggot Street has more to offer but Aspiral and AWAAFI are newcomers of note.

5/2(0%) | (1) Canon's House 5/2, Got a bit lonely when had gone clear but had plenty in hand when landing a handicap by 3 and a 1/2 lengths off the mark of 67 over 6 furlongs at Thirsk last time; down in trip; progressing well and will take a lot of stopping here Two impressive wins this year; 12lb higher for the latest but doubt he's hit his ceiling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (5/1 -11%)Woohoo |
5/1(-11%) | (7) Woohoo 5/1, Defied 9lb rise in the weights when landing a handicap by 1 and a 1/4 lengths off the mark of 58 at Musselburgh last time; top course trainer; has progressed nicely, but this would need by far a career best to win; however she's in form so has a real chance to land the 4-timer Chasing a four-timer and still on a feasible mark; slower ground/stronger rivals the query. |

14/1(-100%) | (3) Pop Star 14/1, Ran to form when only beaten by a nose off the mark of 77 here last time; was a winner over 5 furlongs at Bath last October; 9lb's higher in the weights from that last win; 2lb rise from the 2nd last time out; needs a career best here Near miss over C&D three weeks ago; 2lb rise asks a stiffer question of him. |

12/1(-71%) | (5) Hurt You Never 12/1, Landed a handicap by a length off the mark of 69 here last time; has won twice and placed once this season already; 4lb's higher in the weights from last run; chance but a career best is probably needed here Two C&D wins in the last six weeks; edging up the weights and this looks competitive. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CANON'S HOUSE has proved a different proposition this year, recorded two wins from two starts, most recently scoring readily at Thirsk. The four-year-old is improving at a rapid rate of knots and he looks the one to beat again. Woohoo is seeking the four-timer after her triumph at Musselburgh earlier in the month and she holds an obvious chance. Pop Star is the pick of the remainder.

Canon's House isn't opposed lightly but BONA FORTUNA brings potential and his recent reappearance was promising.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Just a head separated Iris Dancer (winner) and HAVANA RUM (second) when the pair met over C&D last Wednesday. They could be closely matched once again, but with the first-named having to shoulder a 4lb penalty, it is easy to envisage that form being reversed. Dazy Mazy didn't run too badly when fourth at Newcastle in January but returning to turf should suit, and she's now 1lb lower than when on target at Doncaster in June of last year.

Course specialist IRIS DANCER (nap) may be able to confirm last week's C&D placings with Havana Rum despite the revised terms.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Hostelry has been in excellent form of late. On target over C&D before following up in determined fashion at Beverley three weeks ago, Ruth Carr's mare merits the utmost respect from 3lb higher. That being said, a chance can be taken on COMA CLUSTER. A good second over the extended mile at Nottingham on her handicap bow, she disappointed when sent off as favourite at Wetherby next time. Connections reach for a tongue-tie today and if that along with a drop in trip can work the oracle, she should go close. Kubey is also noted.

Some unexposed 3yos on show, notably Kubey, but SEA REGAL's latest run can be ignored and she drops in grade today.

LEVER UP has posted two creditable efforts in defeat since entering handicaps in early April and the addition of a first-time visor may bear fruit. Mick & David Easterby's gelding looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to open his account, at the main expense of Obito. The son of Blue Point was making good headway when squeezed out at Hamilton 21 days ago and he's feared most. Cymbidium is the pick of the remainder.

Having met significant interference here on his handicap debut OBITO is worth another chance.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

There was plenty of encouragement to be taken from REDONDO's return to action when finishing a close-up second at Carlisle last month. A 2lb nudge up in the ratings could prove lenient for Daragh Bourke's inmate and he looks ready to regain the winning thread. Paper Doll did little wrong on her third-placed stable/seasonal bow at Catterick recently and the five-year-old may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of the lightly-raced Desert Of The Sea.

Several possibles but PAPER DOLL shaped well on her first run for new connections last week and she has few miles on the clock.
Ths is the racecard key.
