LTO Selection:

13:35 Hexham Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

In a contest lacking depth, preference is for the class-dropping LEADING FORCE, who could record his best run over hurdles to date in this contest. Runner-up on his last three starts, including over a similar trip at Newcastle last month, he should not be taken lightly and is fancied to shed his maiden tag. Torosay and Hot As Pepper are the main dangers.

HOT AS PEPPER has already won a bumper over this trip and arrives on the back of a solid effort in a deeper contest at Punchestown last month. She gets the nod. The consistent Leading Force looks the obvious danger, whilst Fetch It Yourself can also make her presence felt.

Having been runner-up on his last three starts, this could be a good opportunity for LEADING FORCE to get off the mark.

Hell On Earth

40/1(-627%)
(1) Hell On Earth 40/1, Several creditable efforts to his name in Ireland but not seen for 20 months (sold £6,500 since last seen). Worth a market check in a weak race.
LTO Selection:

14:10 Hexham Handicap Chase (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A drop in trip can see Court Justice improve on a disappointing run over 3m at Ayr earlier this month, but it could be worth taking a chance on MOONACURA. Stuart Coltherd's charge was a well-beaten joint-favourite on his chasing bow at this track last time out and first-time blinkers could spark some improvement into the gelded son of Fame And Glory. Hell On Earth returns from a 628-day break and also warrants a market check.

ASHJAN has been struggling for form but there was a glimmer of encouragement in his fifth here last time and, with his yard going well, he might be able to capitalise on a reduced mark. Cudgel is also well treated and goes well here, so he's feared and Moonacura could up his game in first-time blinkers.

His form figures are uninspiring and he's 6lb out of the weights but this drop back in trip could be just what COURT JUSTICE needs.

I Doubt That

66/1(-560%)
(5) I Doubt That 66/1, Fair 2m Flat winner but he beat only one on his yard debut in 2m Ayr novice hurdle last month. May still do better now going into handicaps.
LTO Selection:

14:45 Hexham Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A 7lb penalty looks unlikely to stop HORN CAPE securing a double here, especially given he kept on well to score by nine lengths over 2m1f at Sedgefield last time. Although this is a tougher contest, he showed enough at the Durham venue to suggest there would be more in the locker and he is narrowly preferred to Miss Lamb, who shed her maiden tag over C&D on her latest outing. Deluxe Range completes the shortlist.

A case can be made for all of these but MISS LAMB looks to start life in handicaps on an attractive mark so gets the nod on the back of her C&D novice success. Recent Sedgefield scorer Horn Cape is feared most under a 7 lb penalty while Deluxe Range can't be ruled out on the back of breathing surgery along with handicap-debutant I Doubt That.

The 6yo HORN CAPE (nap) won in fine style at Sedgefield last week on his second run for Ben Haslam and can defy a 7lb penalty.

LTO Selection:

15:20 Hexham Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Now that the penny has dropped for TWOSHOTSOFTEQUILA over fences, there should be plenty more to come from the son of Snow Sky as he looks to overcome a 7lb rise for a comfortable success at Doncaster. The heavy ground may not be ideal but he is still taken to uphold form with Taste The Fear (third) and account for the likes of Donna's Delight and Nick Lost.

NICK LOST didn't shape too badly in a cross-country event at Punchestown last time and, with a tongue strap now applied, he could be worth chancing if the market speaks in his favour. Twoshotsoftequila is considered a danger on the back of his Doncaster win and Taste The Fear, who was third in the same race, should be on the premises.

Topweight TWOSHOTSOFTEQUILA did it comfortably at Doncaster four weeks ago on his first crack at 3m and gets the nod.

(3) Blazing Port 2.25/1, Bumper winner who has proved only modest over hurdles but respectable efforts all 3 runs this season, fifth of 8 at Carlisle (19.3f, soft) 11 days ago. One for the shortlist.
LTO Selection:

15:55 Hexham Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LISSEN TO THE LADY displayed a very willing attitude to get her head in front over C&D last time out and that looks like the best recent form on offer. She can follow up at the main expense of Blazing Port, who has been shaping as though he could be well suited by going up in trip. One Fer Mamma is another capable gelding on his day.

LISSEN TO THE LADY still looks on a winning mark despite taking a 4 lb rise for her recent C&D success so looks the way to go here. Blazing Port is proving a consistent sort and appeals as the one to chase home Sandy Forster's mare ahead of C&D winner Atomic Angel.

The mare LISSEN TO THE LADY will be very tough to beat if in the same good heart as when winning a big-field C&D handicap last time.

LTO Selection:

16:30 Hexham Handicap Chase (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Ex S'elance (winner) and Trevelyn's Corn (second) fought out a good finish over C&D a fortnight ago and are respected. The revised terms give the latter an edge on this occasion. Nevertheless, EN MEME TEMPS is well handicapped in comparison to his hurdles rating and edges preference over a trip that should ideally suit. Pileup has scope to improve over fences and is also considered.

Most of these arrive with a question mark against them so this looks a good opportunity for PILEUP to build on an encouraging Market Rasen debut second in this sphere and gain his breakthrough success. Trevelyn's Corn is feared most on the back of his good recent C&D second, especially if the fitting of cheekpieces ekes out some improvement. Broomfields Kan appeals as the pick of the remainder now he drops back in trip.

There are risks with PILEUP's jumping but he did well to finish second on his recent chase debut over C&D having made two bad mistakes.

Donald McCain has a good record in bumpers lately and his Queen Of Hindsight is respected on her racecourse bow, while Knacker Trapper and Cave Hill are entitled to improve on what they've shown so far and warrant a betting check at least. However, preference is for point-to-point runner-up CHANCE THE ROBIN, whose Rules debut second at Ayr was franked by the winner going in again.

CHANCE THE ROBIN ran with plenty of promise on his Ayr debut and can open his account in the finale. Knacker Trapper may be the one to chase him home.

Irish raider CHANCE THE ROBIN was a promising second on his debut at Ayr in January and he can go one better.
