16:00 Huntingdon Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

There were plenty of positives to be taken from LADY D'ARBANVILLE's second on her hurdling debut at Exeter in January. Nicky Henderson's mare should put that experience to good use and she's fancied to finish one place better in this contest. The biggest threat is likely to emerge from Ascending Lark, who made the perfect stable bow when opening her account at Haydock last month, while Locken Lady looks best equipped to fill the remaining place.

This can go to LADY D'ARBANVILLE, who stands out on her bumper form and is entitled to progress from her debut in this sphere at Exeter in January. Ascending Lark and Locken Lady look the obvious dangers.

Assuming the likely drier surface presents no issues, Haydock scorer ASCENDING LARK can follow up at Lady d'Arbanville's expense.

16:35 Huntingdon Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Market support for the returning Kennack Bay would be interesting as the nine-year-old looked set to land a breakthrough success at Newton Abbot in June 2022, but for falling two out. However, CALVIC looks a more solid proposition having landed the spoils over 2m4f here in March. Stuart Edmunds' charge should relish this stiffer test of stamina and he's taken to defy a 3lb rise in the ratings. Chase debutant Hey Brother may put in an improved bid in a first-time visor.

CALVIC built on the promise of his yard debut when scoring here last month and may have more to offer yet. He can go in again. King of The Hill and Amalfi Skyline head the list of dangers.

It looks worth risking KENNACK BAY can shrug off his long absence. Last-time 2m4f course winner Calvic rates the alternative.

17:10 Huntingdon Handicap Chase (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

There was a lot to like about GLENCASSLEY's chase debut when making all on his return at Hereford last month. A 3lb rise in the handicap looks far from insurmountable for Charlie Longsdon's charge and a double could be on the cards. Pearly Island didn't appear to enjoy the drop in distance when a well-beaten third at Plumpton earlier this month, but a return to the C&D of his last triumph should see the eight-year-old in a better light. Mole Court should appreciate these quicker ground conditions and is also noted.

MOLE COURT wasn't seen to best effect at Cheltenham when last seen 5 months ago but he'd been highly progressive as a chaser prior to that and looks capable of getting back on the up now freshened up. Glencassley is an obvious threat on the back of a successful chasing debut and Touchy Feely isn't without hope.

Preference is for the unexposed GLENCASSLEY, who is lightly raced and should be capable of stepping up on his chase debut success.

17:45 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HIGHWAY ONE O FIVE arguably produced the best performance of his career so far when hitting the crossbar in this grade at Plumpton last time. Chris Gordon's five-year-old is off an unchanged mark here and he looks the one to beat. Scudamore rarely runs a bad race and he filled the runner-up berth on his penultimate start off 2lb lower, so he has to be respected. Grasshopper Time can be in the mix for the minor honours.

HIGHWAY ONE O FIVE arrives on the back of a couple of creditable efforts and he still looks well treated based on bumper form, so he's a confident choice to open his account in a race where most have something to prove. Spirit of Regulus is liable to bounce back after a break, so he's considered the main threat ahead of Scudamore.

The suggestion is HIGHWAY ONE O FIVE, who has been making gradual improvement. Scudamore looks an obvious danger.

18:15 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

COPERNIC DU MAZET made a highly encouraging handicap debut when finishing second over an extended 2m4f here on his latest outing and this slight drop in trip may aid his cause. The son of Arrigo remains on the same mark and he looks the way to go. The main threat might be Halligator, who is off a career-low rating after his fifth at Taunton and he isn't one to take lightly, while Gms Prince is another to watch out for.

Not nearly so competitive as the numbers suggest and COPERNIC DU MAZET is fancied to build on his recent Huntingdon second and get the better of Ballynaheer this time on these 6 lb more advantageous terms. David Dennis' scorer could still emerge as the main danger though, with handicapping debutant Saxons Lane also well in the mix.

Handicap newcomer SAXONS LANE showed enough promise on his first hurdles start to suggest he might have got in a little lightly.

(7) Bannister 25/1, Dual Worcester winner of summer of 2022 and last seen finding only one too good back there in June. Entitled to need this starting out for a new yard.
Returns from layoff but his new trainer's horses can go well fresh and he's not discounted.

18:45 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

PARC D'AMOUR recorded his first victory over hurdles when winning by just under a length in this grade over track and trip in November. The son of Walk In The Park makes his return to the fray off a 4lb higher rating and he could be the one to beat. Call The Dance improved on her first effort over hurdles to score comfortably at Wincanton last time and she has to be considered on her handicap bow. Of the remainder, Maxcel makes the most appeal.

CALL THE DANCE was quite impressive when landing a big-field novice at Wincanton in January and she's certainly in the right hands to progress again now handicapping. Stay If U Want To could also be better than his opening mark based on his bumper form, with Parc d'Amour completing the shortlist.

The Nicky Henderson-trained CALL THE DANCE (nap) has won two of her four starts and could be on a good mark for this handicap debut.

(1) Pickanumber 5/1, Won a Catterick maiden and Lingfield handicap on first 2 starts for Olly Murphy. Lost his unbeaten record for this yard when third of 8 at Bangor last month but it was a Class 2 and no shock were to resume his progress back in slightly calmer waters.
Two wins and a Bangor class 2 third for Olly Murphy, albeit all on rather slower ground.

(2) Balhambar 4/6, Fairly useful on the Flat for Michael Bell and much improved over hurdles since handicapping, winning at Ludlow and Bangor this month. Did it in straightforward fashion at the latter track on Saturday and a 7 lb penalty may not stop him with further progress likely.
Ludlow and Bangor wins on soft this month; 1lb well in, and good ground not a problem.

(3) Give Me A Moment 14/1, Useful chaser at best but signs of decline this season, pulling up at Plumpton when last seen in February. Remains to be seen whether a return to hurdling helps.

19:15 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BALHAMBAR has proved a different proposition since been switched to handicaps over hurdles, as evidenced by his ready triumphs at Ludlow and Bangor this month. A 7lb penalty for the most recent of those wins may not be enough to prevent Harry Derham's charge from completing a hat-trick. The main challenge may come from Flight Of Freedom, who should appreciate a return to this distance, while Kado De Joie may prove more competitive in these calmer waters.

BALHAMBAR is firmly on the up for the Harry Derham yard and can complete a quick hat-trick. Although Kado de Joie failed to fire on his Ascot handicap debut his mark looks very workable on his Market Rasen juvenile win and he might give the selection most to do ahead of fellow unexposed sorts Flight of Freedom and Dancing In Brazil.

A chance is taken on GIVE ME A MOMENT, 13lb lower than when last seen over hurdles, on ground he'll like. Balhambar is next best.

19:45 Huntingdon NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

An open event, with only a tentative vote going to JUBILANT. The gelded son of Doctor Dino posted an encouraging third on his Rules bow in a bumper at Market Rasen last month and any improvement could make the five-year-old tough to beat. Having finished third at Hereford last time out, Strong As Steel is heading in the right direction. James Evans' inmate is feared most, ahead of Dante's Inferno.

Ben Pauling has done well in bumpers this season so his point recruit FOLLOWCATO gets the nod to make a successful start under Rules, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Strong As Steel and Jubilant may prove best of those with previous bumper experience, while Court In A Storm and Jacks Wish are newcomers to keep an eye on.

With the form of his clear Hereford third reading well, STRONG AS STEEL is the pick ahead of point runner-up Followcato.
