5/2(+29%) | (2) Mermaids Cave 5/2, Seemed to be on stiff mark down the field in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham most recent; cheekpieces first time; consistent; holds no secrets from handicapper Easier task than at Cheltenham latest, but mark remains a concern; 0-9 going right-handed.. |

2nd (3) (8/1 +56%)Masked Dance |
8/1(+56%) | (3) Masked Dance 8/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham latest; form going the wrong way; dropping in weights but fair bit to prove 2lb above mark of last spring's Aintree win; only similar form effort since came here.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (2/1 +43%)Of Course You Can |
2/1(+43%) | (6) Of Course You Can 2/1, Below par down the field in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham most recent; this much easier; sound surface suits; usually consistent; threat Ludlow winner who can revive for the return to a sharp, flat right-hander; down 4lb.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/2 +27%)Callin Baton Rouge |
11/2(+27%) | (4) Callin Baton Rouge 11/2, Seemed to be on stiff mark down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Cheltenham most recent; usually consistent; up in trip; needs to improve Still 9lb above mark for final leg of last season's 2m-2m3f hat-trick; more needed again.. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (16/1 -45%)Walk Of No Shame |
16/1(-45%) | (5) Walk Of No Shame 16/1, Below par fourth beaten 83l in a handicap chase over 3m at Southwell latest; inconsistent; down in trip; not out of it but may just need this after a break Still above her highest winning mark; regressive efforts when last seen in the autumn.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MERMAIDS CAVE looks the one to beat if bouncing back to the form of her penultimate success at Fakenham when scoring easily off 7lb lower. Dropping back in grade looks like a good move, and she is preferred to Ile De Jersey, who has fallen to a workable mark. A progressive mare last summer, Callin Baton Rouge must be noted on her return to action, as well as Of Course You Can.

Old Cheltenham rivals ILE DE JERSEY and Of Course You Can are taken to enjoy the return to a sharp, flat, right-handed track.

1st (2) (2/1 -14%)Knights Affair |
2/1(-14%) | (2) Knights Affair 2/1, Slowly away beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap over 1m6f at Southwell last time; usually consistent; multiple flat winner; up in trip; most likely alternative back from break on hurdle debut Won't fail for stamina as a 1m6f-2m Flat winner; just a case of whether this is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (2/1 +67%)Theatre Of Flight |
2/1(+67%) | (7) Theatre Of Flight 2/1, Below par fourth beaten 36l in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Fontwell latest; showed promise in bumpers prior; longer trip should suit; each way claims Keeping-on 36l fourth on September's hurdling debut; not sure today's trip is long enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/1 +78%)Jungle Wood |
11/1(+78%) | (1) Jungle Wood 11/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle at Market Rasen latest where too green to show anything; difficult to fancy Couldn't recommend on bumper/hurdles evidence thus far; has left Nicky Henderson. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (50/1 +38%)Sixty Plus |
50/1(+38%) | (5) Sixty Plus 50/1, Appeared not to stay comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Warwick last time; excuses previously but generally out of form; not proven trip; all to do Very little form outside of a Fakenham bumper third; new trip doesn't appeal as needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (2/1 +92%)Te Deum |
2/1(+92%) | (6) Te Deum 2/1, Down the field in a bumper over 2m at Clonmel most recent; absent for very lengthy period; yet to show anything; up in trip; difficult to fancy Something to offer as a hurdler on pedigree, but may just need this after 18 months out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A capable sort on the level for David O'Meara, KNIGHTS AFFAIR could be a useful recruit to the hurdling ranks in what looks like a winnable contest. The form of his new stable is a major plus, and the five-year-old may have too much for Les's Destiny Star, who is better than what he showed when returning from a year's absence at Warwick in March. Brooklyn Callin improved from first to second start when fifth here in a bumper last month, and could be one to progress again over timber.

Likely improvers now encountering jumps, LES'S DESTINY STAR or Brooklyn Callin can profit if Knights Affair needs the run.

1st (4) (2/1 +11%)Ann D'arabie |
2/1(+11%) | (4) Ann D'arabie 2/1, Travelled well beaten a neck off 78 over 3m2f at Sedgefield last time where out-battled and outstayed late; steadily progressing; down in trip; contender Would have won at Sedgefield (3m2f, good) had she not lost her focus in the closing stages. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/2 +59%)Eightytwo Team |
9/2(+59%) | (5) Eightytwo Team 9/2, Below par comfortably held in a handicap chase at Southwell last time; generally out of form; dropping in weights but best watched back from break Poor strike-rate; consistency isn't her strong point and she's been off since November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (5/2 +69%)Time Was |
5/2(+69%) | (3) Time Was 5/2, Below par well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Kelso latest; unexposed in this sphere; fair mark on winter form; not proven trip; in the mix if stamina holds up Placed form this year but below par hurdling the last twice and looks hard to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (7/1 -17%)Time For Tea |
7/1(-17%) | (2) Time For Tea 7/1, Below par fourth beaten 34l in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Plumpton latest; inconsistent hurdler; up in trip; fair mark on best hurdles form; interesting at a price on chase debut Only one positive run out of four for this yard; hard to trust on this chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A major disappointment when well beaten in a match race at Fakenham last time out, LOUD AND PROUD looks well capable of bouncing back to form off the same mark. Harry Derham's mare comfortably saw off the reopposing Ann D'arabie (second) when scoring over further at Doncaster in March, and she can uphold that form. Time For Tea looks to be the best of the remainder, having run creditably in recent starts over shorter.

Loud And Proud needs to bounce back from a shocker, whereas ANN D'ARABIE really should have won at Sedgefield.

1st (5) (7/2 +61%)Lyness Dancer |
7/2(+61%) | (5) Lyness Dancer 7/2, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 3m2f at Warwick latest where failed to convince with stamina; big effort under aggressive ride previously; remains unexposed; interesting at a price if stamina holds up Player on March's Fontwell third (3m2f, good to soft), but well below that next time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (9/1 -6%)Fox's Socks |
9/1(-6%) | (6) Fox's Socks 9/1, Below par down the field in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Market Rasen most recent; usually consistent over hurdles; returning from long layoff; outside chance Winless since July 2021; more agreeable ground awaits than on previous 3m+ starts.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (7/4 +61%)Tellairsue |
7/4(+61%) | (7) Tellairsue 7/4, Well backed beaten a length off 70 over 2m5f at Ludlow last time; that signalled revival; good ground suits; up in trip; threat Flattered by proximity to winner latest, but mark and return to longer trip both appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (10/3 -21%)Jack The Savage |
10/3(-21%) | (1) Jack The Savage 10/3, Raced freely beaten 3l off 98 here last time; that form had knocks; consistent but frustrating; sound surface suits; contender 3l C&D second latest (good) has opened options trip-wise; this is no better a race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (9/1 +68%)Indian Sunbird |
9/1(+68%) | (4) Indian Sunbird 9/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f here latest where too keen; should come on for that; up in trip; form going the wrong way; risky Improvement on last month's return here is not impossible; trip and ground are both fine. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (66/1 -633%)Zoffalee |
66/1(-633%) | (3) Zoffalee 66/1, Looked unenthusiastic 18l third in a handicap chase over 3m4f at Market Rasen most recent run; absent for very lengthy period; fair mark on chase form but best watched Frame regular, but long absent, and first hurdles start since September 2020 to boot. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (13/2 -225%)Presenting Yeats |
13/2(-225%) | (2) Presenting Yeats 13/2, Bit in hand landing a handicap by 9 1/2l off 89 over 3m2f at Stratford last time after spell in doldrums; still thrown in on best form; lazy but entitled to go close C&D winner in autumn 2022; still on good mark despite 8lb rise for Stratford score. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (100/1 -203%)Surrey Nemesis |
100/1(-203%) | (8) Surrey Nemesis 100/1, Below par comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell last time; blinkers first time; up in trip; yet to show anything over hurdles; difficult to fancy Last home on three most recent runs; all hopes seemingly rest on debuted blinkers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JACK THE SAVAGE produced another fair effort when taking the silver medal home over track and trip last time and the assessor may have been kind to only put him up 1lb. The eight-year-old may only need to run to a similar level in order to go one better. Presenting Yeats struck in ready style in this class at Stratford and if the nine-year-old can back that up, he is likely to be bang there. Zoffalee looks best of the rest.

A less-exposed quantity as a stayer, last-time C&D second JACK THE SAVAGE is taken to thwart the follow-up bid of Presenting Yeats.

1st (1) (10/11 +77%)Finest View |
10/11(+77%) | (1) Finest View 10/11, Raced freely comfortably held in a handicap chase at Hereford last time; good mark on hurdle form; consistent in that sphere; returning from a break; big chance with improvement likely Five hurdle wins; first chase run was better than the second when too free; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 +25%)Harel Du Marais |
3/1(+25%) | (4) Harel Du Marais 3/1, Well treated at weights when scored by 5l off 100 at Southwell penultimate start; that form franked; fourth beaten 9 1/2l off 107 last time where travelled well but found little; contender if jumping holds up Too keen when beaten under a penalty at Wetherby and he remains of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/2 +29%)Flamelco |
5/2(+29%) | (2) Flamelco 5/2, Game when landing a handicap by 2 1/2l off 107 over 2m1f at Plumpton last time where got first run on closers; bold jumper; not out of it if allowed to dictate at sharp track Bordering on career-best form when making most of the running at Plumpton; up 5lb. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FLAMELCO made virtually every yard of the running to go in by over two lengths in this grade at Plumpton and a 5lb may underestimate the authority he showed that day. Sarah Humphrey's seven-year-old has a previous C&D victory to his name and can record another. Harel Du Marais failed to complete the hat-trick when running too free and finishing fourth at Wetherby, but could easily bounce back. Finest View is next best.

Clearcut Warwick winner ISKAR D'AIRY (nap) seems to be up on the upgrade and he's taken to defy the 6lb rise.

13/8(+81%) | (5) Snatch A Glance 13/8, 7 1/4l fourth in a bumper at Taunton first-time out; yard has excellent record in this sphere; on the premises with improvement likely Easy to back at 6-1 ahead of Taunton debut but showed ability in finishing fourth. |

40/1(-43%) | (3) Le Docteur 40/1, Well beaten in a maiden bumper at Hereford only start where met troule; tongue-tie first time; yard going well but difficult to fancy Flat-geared yard is now 0-7 in bumpers after this gelding trailed in last at Hereford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (16/1 +80%)Red Tractor |
16/1(+80%) | (10) Red Tractor 16/1, Lauro filly; full-sister to Bossy Bird, poor at 20f; stable not known for first time out winners; watching brief advised 4yo filly with the allowances but likely best watched on career debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

COASTAL COMMAND is a half-brother to useful bumper winner Sunshade and goes for the Nicky Henderson team. The son of Scorpion may be up to the task at the first time of asking, with his main threat possibly being St Jessica, who finished fifth in a Grade 2 at Aintree last month. Snatch A Glance is another to keep an eye on after his fourth at Taunton.

Coastal Command needs respecting but it's hard to see past ST JESSICA after her excellent run in a Grade 2 at Aintree.
Ths is the racecard key.
