Madiba Passion

4/1(-33%)
(4) Madiba Passion 4/1, Ran creditably twice prior to being pulled up at Ffos Las a fortnight ago. No surprise if he bounces back and experience should count for plenty.
Not at best on latest outing but runner-up in two good-ground chases this year; respected.

2nd (3) Magistrato (1.5/1 +40%)
Magistrato

1.5/1(+40%)
(3) Magistrato 1.5/1, Fairly useful winning juvenile hurdler in 2021-22. Not in same form since but can't be ruled out starting out over fences in a race of this nature.
Pulled up after racing too freely in both hurdles this year; looks risky on chase debut.

Sofia's Rock

20/1(+0%)
(1) Sofia's Rock 20/1, Suited by sharp 2m at Market Rasen when notching third win of 2022 in a seller last August. Shaped as if better for run at Kempton last month and can't be completely dismissed on chase debut.
Well beaten on both hurdling starts for stable; now makes rather belated chase debut.

Call Me Tara

1.25/1(-37%)
(2) Call Me Tara 1.25/1, Dual winner over hurdles who improved again when third in a novice at Ludlow last month. Should take to chasing and boasts solid claims.
2-4 in novice hurdles last season; should have improvement to come in handicap chases.
LTO Selection:

14:30 Huntingdon Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The fact Paul Nicholls is persevering with Magistrato could prove to be significant and the gelding might come into his own now he is sent chasing, while Call Me Tara returned from a 209-day break with a solid effort in a novices' hurdle at Ludlow last month and, with the tongue-tie retained, he might also find more now switched to the larger obstacles. However, MADIBA PASSION has an edge in terms of experience in this discipline and, getting weight from the rest, he is the percentage call.

CALL ME TARA has made an excellent start over hurdles and appeals as the type to be at least as good over fences, so she's preferred to Madiba Passion, who may well bounce back from a poor showing. Magistrato is also on the radar.

(2) Symphorine 2/1, Visored for first time when taking 7-runner novice selling hurdle at Exeter (18.5f, soft) last month. However, put in her place returned to handicap company next time and she's likely to find a few too good here, too.
Won a seller last month but safely held in a subsequent handicap; others preferred.

Masked Dance

(4) Masked Dance 11/1, Made the frame both starts in bumpers and showed ability on hurdles bow when third of 11 in mares' maiden at Southwell in November. However, has failed to build on that since (unseated early on at Ludlow last time) and it's probably best to look elsewhere.
Placed on hurdling debut in November but is yet to build on that performance.

3.5/1(-5%)
(8) Well Done Dani 3.5/1, Placed 3 times during the autumn and improved when opening her account on the back of a break/wind op at Southwell (15.8f, good to soft) last month. 5 lb rise isn't the end of the world and she will be a danger to all if able to build on that.
Returned from break with a win last month and has pretty solid claims.

Vision Of Hope

(11) Vision Of Hope 9/1, Won 2 of her 5 starts on the Flat for George Boughey but too headstrong on each of her 3 starts over hurdles, including on debut for this yard at Worcester recently. Will need to settle better if she's to make an impact on this handicap bow.
Dual AW winner but has tended to race too freely over hurdles; handicap debut today.

Only Fools

12/1(-260%)
(10) Only Fools 12/1, Fair Flat winner in France who hasn't shown much in 3 starts over hurdles but improvement is likely now moving into handicap company off a lowly opening mark. One to monitor closely in the betting.

(1) Ayr Of Elegance 12/1, Below par since landing an 18.7f Stratford handicap (good) last summer but has slipped back to that winning mark and drying ground in her favour. One to consider with last month's spin back at Stratford (first run for 6 months) under her belt.
Ran okay last month, after a break, and is now back on her last winning mark.
7th
7th (5) Qoya (4/1 -60%)
Qoya

4/1(-60%)
(5) Qoya 4/1, Fairly useful on Flat for William Haggas (successful twice at up to 1¾m in 2022) and showed promise on hurdles bow at Ffos Las in January. No progress in 2 subsequent starts but this 4-y-o could be about to take a step forward now pitched into a handicap in this sphere.

(6) Eventful 25/1, Off the mark over hurdles at Plumpton early last year and added to her tally back from a break at Southwell (15.8f, good) in November. Struggled both runs since, though, and will need to bounce back if she's to have a say in the finish.
Won in the autumn but below that form on both starts this year; back from break today.

|PU| (9) Ceci Wells (40/1 -150%)
Ceci Wells

40/1(-150%)
(9) Ceci Wells 40/1, Little solid form on the level and has fared no better in 3 starts over hurdles. Needs to raise her game now tried in a handicap in this sphere.
Made a lot of the running when fourth in Plumpon novice last month; handicap debut today.
LTO Selection:

15:00 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

QOYA has shown promise since switching codes and is taken to build on what was a highly encouraging effort when she finished third in a juvenile hurdle over C&D last time out. The terms of this race gives her a sound chance at the weights and a breakthrough success is a distinct possibility. Well Done Dani showed some improvement to win at Southwell on her first start back after a wind operation and is feared most. Ceci Wells and Ayr Of Elegance complete the shortlist.

QOYA and Only Fools are both of strong interest now handicapping in this sphere and, armed with their 4-y-o allowances, they could be the pair to focus on. Marginal preference is for the former, who did pretty well on the level for William Haggas last year and it was a decent mares' novice at Ffos Las in which she was fourth on her hurdles debut in January. Well Done Dani and Ayr of Elegance are others to consider.

Love Mystery

10/1(-264%)
(8) Love Mystery 10/1, Fair maiden on the Flat, making GB/IRE jumps debut. Hooded for 1st time, tenth of 14 in handicap at Newbury (12f, good, 20/1). Off 8 months. First run for yard after leaving Andrew Balding. Has joined a good NH yard and should make an impact.
LTO Selection:

15:30 Huntingdon Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LOVE MYSTERY was a maiden on the Flat for Andrew Balding but dropped several hints that he has the ability to pay his way and looks an interesting recruit to the jumping scene. His yard has been back among the winners lately and this looks a good starting point for the son of Frankel's NH bow. Sisterandbrother would have something to find with the selection based on Flat ratings but looks a solid alternative given his previous hurdle experience. Fandabidozi is also considered.

SISTERANDBROTHER has already scored on the Flat and showed enough on his hurdling debut to think he can land this relatively weak race. Love Mystery makes plenty of appeal and Wolf of Oxshott can't be dmissed.

(7) Agent Saonois 8/1, Won over hurdles at Uttoxeter (15.8f) last summer and ran to similar level when third in Taunton handicap chase (18.2f) in November. May have needed last month's Plumpton return but others more appealing. 4 lb out of the weights.
Hurdle winner last summer but struggled in recent Plumpton chase and has a point to prove.
LTO Selection:

16:00 Huntingdon Handicap Chase (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Out The Glen is now just 1lb above his last winning mark, which came over C&D in March of last year. First-time cheekpieces could eke out some improvement, but a chance is taken on LETSBE AVENUE. Keiran Burke's charge has stamina to prove over this far, but he was successful from this mark at Taunton (2m2f) in December and that performance gave the impression he could have more to offer when stepped up in trip. Cloudy Wednesday is another to consider.

LETSBE AVENUE is back on his last winning mark and ran respectably at Ludlow last time. He gets the nod in a race which may not take a great deal of winning. Out The Glen and Stamina Chope can also make their presence felt.

Veteran CAIUS MARCIUS returned to action with a narrow success at Perth 26 days ago, bringing up his hat-trick in the process. The 12-year-old was raised 2lb for that win, but Conor Rabbitt's claim means he's technically 5lb lower today and the son of King's Theatre gets the nod once again. Recent Worcester scorer Judicial Law appeals as the most likely danger, while Ask A Honey Bee completes the shortlist.

CAIUS MARCIUS boasts an excellent record at this sort of trip and remains fairly treated after his recent Perth victory. He can score again. Ask A Honey Bee and Time To Tinker are feared most.

HOMME D'UN SOIR looked to hold every chance when falling three out at Stratford on his stable debut in March and he can gain compensation on this occasion. Going further up in trip should not inconvenience him and he is preferred to Kaproyale, the selection's stable companion who is entitled to be thereabouts after a respectable second at Stratford. Keep an eye on Just Cause too.

KAPROYALE gets the vote after a good second at Stratford. Stablemate Homme d'Un Soir might be the danger.

17:30 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Based on the summary, the horses that are most likely to finish in the top three are 1.88/1 (8) DELLBOY TROTTER, 3.5/1 (3) RED FORCE ONE, and 7.5/1 (6) ENTHUSED. 1.88/1 (8) DELLBOY TROTTER has been consistent and showed improvement in his recent race, while 3.5/1 (3) RED FORCE ONE has been competitive in higher-grade handicaps and has been eased in weight for this race. 7.5/1 (6) ENTHUSED is a notable handicap debutant and has shown promise in her three starts over hurdles. However, as with any horse race, there is always the possibility of unexpected outcomes.

DELLBOY TROTTER ran a cracker when not beaten far in second at Ludlow and the booking of Harry Cobden could well help him go one better today. Tracey Leeson's charge should be suited by the drop back in trip and he can see off the likes of Pass The Love On and Enthused, who arguably posted a career-best effort when a close-up fourth at Fakenham earlier in the month.

A chance is taken on RED FORCE ONE, who acquitted himself well enough in a stronger handicap than this at Cheltenham last month to suggest that he could take advantage of this career-low hurdles mark in a race of this nature. Dellboy Trotter returned to form when hitting the crossbar at Ludlow recently and is a big threat with Harry Cobden up, while Enthused and handicap debutante Pass The Love On are both worth a second look.
