(6) (3/1 +25%)Datsalrightcharlie |
3/1(+25%) | (6) Datsalrightcharlie 3/1, Outpaced but ran to form when beaten 3¼l off 103 at Warwick last time, looking in need of a stiffer test. Trainer in form. Effective from 2m to 2½m and suited by a sound surface. Has more to come and likely to stay 3m in time. Third on handicap debut (2m5f); looks a leading contender with further improvement likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (7/2 +46%)Youdecide |
7/2(+46%) | (9) Youdecide 7/2, Fell late when contesting a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las last time. Cheekpieces fitted for the first time. Effective at 2½m and acts on good ground. In form before that run but current mark demands more. Ended last season well but dropping right out when he fell on return; cheekpieces go on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/2 +82%)Guchen |
9/2(+82%) | (3) Guchen 9/2, Had too much to do but stayed on to see out the trip when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Kempton last time. In good form beforehand. Effective at 2½m and acts on soft or good to soft ground; consistent until latest run. Consistent form except for latest start when soundly beaten in 2m5f handicap at Kempton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/2 +44%)Ilitch |
9/2(+44%) | (2) Ilitch 9/2, Ran to form up in trip when fourth, beaten 6l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Uttoxeter last time, needing the run. Effective from 2m to 2½m and acts on good to soft or good ground. Progressive and likely to stay a bit further in time. Good fourth at Uttoxeter (upped to 2m4f) in October, weakening but after seven months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (9/1 -29%)Tigga Time |
9/1(-29%) | (7) Tigga Time 9/1, Ran to form when landing a handicap by a length off 99 here last time. Effective at 2½m and acts on soft and good ground. In form and should remain competitive. C&D winner (good; probably okay on soft) under Jamie Gambin on second start for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/1 -10%)Walden |
11/1(-10%) | (1) Walden 11/1, Travelled well and did it readily when winning a maiden hurdle at Market Rasen by 3l last time, having benefited from the step up in trip. Effective at 2½m and acts on good ground. Unexposed in handicaps and at this trip; latest form franked and a threat if fit. Pretty impressive maiden win at Market Rasen (good) in April when upped to extended 2m5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (16/1 -45%)Mistral Blue |
16/1(-45%) | (10) Mistral Blue 16/1, Did too much back from a break but still ran to form when beaten a length off 97 here last time. Effective at 2½m and acts on good ground. In form and could improve for that latest outing. Excellent 2nd to Tigga Time over C&D; much more to prove if the ground is softer than good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (16/1 -100%)Bitsnbuckles |
16/1(-100%) | (4) Bitsnbuckles 16/1, Yard won this last year. Flattened out after a break following a series of errors when fourth, beaten 22l, in a Market Rasen handicap hurdle last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time. Effective at 2½m; inconsistent but should improve for that run. 1-9 over hurdles and opposable on most form, but the one win came on his only race here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (18/1 -125%)The Secret Pearl |
18/1(-125%) | (5) The Secret Pearl 18/1, Ran to form but flattened out when stepped up in trip on return from a break, having raced freely, beaten 4l off 103 at Plumpton last time. Effective between 2m and 2½m and acts on good ground. In good form. Off 172 days before second of five at Plumpton (2m4f) latest; needs to find a bit extra. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A 4lb rise for Tigga Time's latest triumph over C&D looks workable and he's fancied to confirm his superiority with reopposing second Mistral Blue. However, THE SECRET PEARL returned with a respectable second at Plumpton last month and any improvement could make her the one to beat. Bitsnbuckles is also entitled to build on his seasonal debut, while Walden is having just his second start in handicap company.

Plenty have possibilities but DEARKEITHANDKATY is preferred with the likelihood of soft ground. Walden is feared most.

1/1(+75%) | (3) Draco Malfoy 1/1, Ran to form when beaten 6 1/4l in a bumper over 2m here last time. Previously in good form but returning from a long layoff and will need to progress further. Irish point winner who showed significant ability in three bumpers; should bring potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (9/2 +10%)Lisnamurrican |
9/2(+10%) | (11) Lisnamurrican 9/2, Improved when winning a maiden at Tattersalls Farm over 3m by 2 1/2l last time. Returning from a long layoff but has joined a top yard and cold make winning debut. Well-related Irish point winner; jockey bookings suggest she's not the stable first string. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/2 -80%)Coastal Command |
9/2(-80%) | (2) Coastal Command 9/2, Green but promising debut, needed the run when 14l third in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Uttoxeter last time. Effective over 2–2 1/2m and more to come for a top yard; should improve from that effort. Third in a bumper and 2m4f Uttoxeter novice; the best hurdles form in this line-up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (7/1 +30%)The Hawkstonian |
7/1(+30%) | (8) The Hawkstonian 7/1, Needed the run but shaped well for a time on debut, finishing 11l third in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Sedgefield last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and should benefit from that experience. 11l third of five at Sedgefield (2m4f, good) on hurdle debut, form which has been boosted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (8/1 -129%)Tom Desjy |
8/1(-129%) | (9) Tom Desjy 8/1, Promising effort when runner-up, beaten 2l in a maiden over 3m at Borris House on sole start. Trainer in form but returning after a long absence; difficult to recommend on rules debut. 2nd in Irish maiden point in April 2024, shortly before £52,000 sale; needs a close look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (18/1 -200%)Maccarellu |
18/1(-200%) | (6) Maccarellu 18/1, Finished 4l third in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Leicester last time. Effective from 2–2 1/4m and suited by soft conditions; generally consistent in France and could build on stable debut for a yard that does well with similar types. Third of four at Leicester (1m7f, soft) was creditable return from year off on yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (25/1 +50%)Bel Ombre |
25/1(+50%) | (1) Bel Ombre 25/1, Keen, improved from debut when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle over 2m at Chepstow most recently. Effective over 2 1/2m; the longer trip may suit, though further improvement is needed. Bumper runs were better than his two hurdle performances at Chepstow (2m) last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (50/1 +0%)Luwdvig |
50/1(+0%) | (5) Luwdvig 50/1, Showed slight improvement from debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m here last time. Effective at 2m; improving but likely better suited to handicaps in time. In the frame in two bumpers but did not show as much in his two maiden hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (66/1 -100%)Monsun Climate |
66/1(-100%) | (7) Monsun Climate 66/1, Outpaced and modest on bumper debut when well beaten over 2m at Chepstow last time. Difficult to fancy on that evidence. Mostly failed to complete in points and modest form in a Chepstow bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (100/1 -150%)Golly Gosh |
100/1(-150%) | (4) Golly Gosh 100/1, Poor debut, well beaten in a bumper over 2m at Warwick on only start. Faces a stiff task. 33-1, weakened right out of it in Warwick bumper (2m, good) in April; wind surgery since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (200/1 -700%)One Cool Mix |
200/1(-700%) | (12) One Cool Mix 200/1, Carlotamix mare and half-sister to Allavina, who was very useful over 16f. Faces a tough enough task on debut. Possibilities on pedigree; on debut, though, perhaps best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (400/1 -300%)Everlasting Pearl |
400/1(-300%) | (10) Everlasting Pearl 400/1, Poor run when down the field in a bumper over 2m at Warwick most recently. Faces a tough assignment. Achieved little in spring bumpers at Hereford and Warwick. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having landed a point-to-point, Rules debutant Lisnamurrican must be monitored in the betting representing the Nicky Henderson yard, but stablemate COASTAL COMMAND sets the standard. The son of Scorpion posted a promising third on his hurdles bow at Uttoxeter 37 days ago and he could be the way to go. Maccarellu will need to improve on his latest third at Leicester, but that's entirely possible with Venetia Williams starting to hit some form.

Coastal Command may prove best of those with hurdles form but hurdles newcomer DRACO MALFOY, from an in-form yard, may scupper him.

(3) (11/4 0%)Don't Mind If I Do |
11/4(0%) | (3) Don't Mind If I Do 11/4, Stable has won two of the last five renewals; finished 11l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Aintree last time; effective at 2m and handles heavy and good to soft ground; progressive type who should improve from that run. With a run (too free) under his belt, he could still have plenty of untapped potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (10/3 +52%)Clap Of Thunder |
10/3(+52%) | (4) Clap Of Thunder 10/3, Showed a good attitude and ran to form when 12l third in a novice hurdle at Musselburgh last time; returns from a long layoff; effective at 2m and handles heavy and good ground; consistent performer and a threat if fit. Reappears following wind surgery four weeks ago; market support would be interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (9/2 +18%)Haas Boy |
9/2(+18%) | (8) Haas Boy 9/2, Travelled well and idled when building on a recent return to form to win a handicap by 1l off 105 over 2m1f at Exeter last time; effective from 2m to 2½m and handles soft and good ground; remains well treated on old form and seems more genuine now. 2-2 for new yard; good chance that his revival will continue by completing the hat-trick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (8/1 -14%)We're Red And Blue |
8/1(-14%) | (6) We're Red And Blue 8/1, Needed the run when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Aintree last time; effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground; needs to bounce back but fair mark on novice form if doing so. Best front-running; tailed off when second favourite at Aintree four weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (9/1 -13%)Graecia |
9/1(-13%) | (10) Graecia 9/1, Won by 3½l off 86 at Worcester three starts back and ran to form when second, beaten 4l off 93 last time; usually held up; effective at 2m on good ground; still on a fair mark based on flat form, and latest effort was strongly boosted. Hard to settle but she's an improving mare who has to be considered each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (12/1 +40%)Time Interval |
12/1(+40%) | (7) Time Interval 12/1, Made too much use of when stepped up in trip and didn't stay, finishing down the field in a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Cheltenham last time; had been in good form before that; effective at 2m and may not get 2½m; mark looks fair. Ran well in the mud on Flat and could be interesting brought back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (14/1 -40%)Bluegrass |
14/1(-40%) | (2) Bluegrass 14/1, Won this race last year and scored by a nose off 122 at Southwell three starts back; effective at 2m, acts on soft but prefers good ground; in fair form and should benefit from a sharp track, with the drop in trip a plus. Not without blemishes but two good runs from three starts this term; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (22/1 +12%)Benvoy |
22/1(+12%) | (5) Benvoy 22/1, Made too much use of when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time; returns after a short break; effective at 2m on good to soft and good ground; current mark looks about right. Down the field on last two outings; hopes are pinned on wind surgery turning things around. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (33/1 -175%)Bust A Move |
33/1(-175%) | (1) Bust A Move 33/1, Far too keen and needed the run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Wetherby last time; had been in good form previously; usually held up; effective at 2m and handles good to soft and good ground; mark looks tough. Progressed well as a juvenile last season; failed to settle in a first-time hood on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (33/1 -83%)Callin Baton Rouge |
33/1(-83%) | (9) Callin Baton Rouge 33/1, Ran to form but tired late on ground softer than ideal when 8l third in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Southwell last time; effective from 2m to 2½m and handles any ground; back on last winning mark and generally consistent. Not disgraced on last two outings but needs better; peak efforts have been on good ground. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Haas Boy hasn't looked back since racing under the tutelage of Chester Williams and merits respect in his hat-trick bid. However, a 5lb higher mark on this rise in class does demand more and preference is for DON'T MIND IF I DO. The five-year-old was a bit too fresh on his third-placed seasonal debut over 2m1f at Aintree last month and this ease in distance looks ideal. Clap Of Thunder could also play a leading role.

Don't Mind If I Do still looks promising but HAAS BOY can continue his resurgence with another win.

(1) (13/8 +41%)De Kingpin |
13/8(+41%) | (1) De Kingpin 13/8, Outpaced and needed the run on chase debut when fourth, beaten 21l in a 2m3f handicap chase at Ffos Las last time. Effective at 2½m and handles soft ground. Fair mark on best hurdle form but unreliable and stamina to prove for 3m. Has a bit to prove in this second chase but this looks an uncompetitive race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/4 +68%)Isle Of Gold |
7/4(+68%) | (3) Isle Of Gold 7/4, Improved up in trip in first-time cheekpieces on chase debut when second, beaten 10l in a 3m1f Warwick handicap chase last time. Trainer in form and effective at 2½–3m. Could progress with experience though the mark looks demanding. Staying-on 10l second on handicap/chase debut at Warwick (3m1f, good to soft) in January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (4/1 +27%)Jongleur D'etoiles |
4/1(+27%) | (4) Jongleur D'etoiles 4/1, Needed the run on chase debut when finishing down the field in a 2m3f handicap chase at Fontwell last time. In good form prior and effective at 3m on soft or good ground. Progressive hurdler last term who could improve on debut form. Remote on chasing debut one month ago, but after a break and over a much shorter trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/1 -50%)Trapista |
9/1(-50%) | (5) Trapista 9/1, Made mistakes and was outpaced when never threatening, finishing 16l third in a Ludlow handicap chase last time. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time. Effective around 2½m but an out-of-form veteran at present. First cheekpieces and second go beyond 2m5f, having been well beaten over 3m latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (11/1 +21%)Zacony Rebel |
11/1(+21%) | (6) Zacony Rebel 11/1, Ran to form when beaten 3¼l off 92 here last time. Effective at 2m4f and just about stays the sharp 3m. Best on good ground; inconsistent but only slightly above last winning mark. 2nd of four to Fern Hill over C&D latest; inconsistent but has chance in this small field. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DE KINGPIN offered enough encouragement on his fourth-placed chase/seasonal bow at Ffos Las to suggest that a race of this nature is within his compass. Ben Pauling's charge should appreciate this ease in class and a 3lb drop may prove lenient. The biggest threat may emerge from Isle Of Gold, who posted a good second on his first attempt over the larger obstacles at Warwick in January, ahead of Trapista.

This may prove the right opportunity for the very lightly raced ISLE OF GOLD, whose stable has been operating at a fine strike-rate.

(1) (4/5 -40%)Ambiente Friendly |
4/5(-40%) | (1) Ambiente Friendly 4/5, Went clear for a promising debut following a wind operation when fourth, beaten 8l, in a maiden hurdle at Cheltenham last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground. The former Derby runner-up looks to hold a class edge here and will be tough to beat down in grade if settling better. High class on the Flat before losing his way; hurdle debut at Cheltenham was encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (9/4 -13%)Wondering Why |
9/4(-13%) | (9) Wondering Why 9/4, Improved on bumper form with a very promising hurdle debut when third, beaten 7l, in a maiden hurdle at Southwell on his latest start. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground. Should progress further and is a previous bumper winner here. Bumper winner here; made a solid enough hurdling debut despite failing favourite backers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/2 +50%)Bobajob |
9/2(+50%) | (3) Bobajob 9/2, Below form when up in grade and finished down the field in a bumper here on his most recent start. Returning from a long layoff and hard to recommend. Well bred; nice first bumper run and just never ran his race next time out; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (11/1 +31%)For Old Times Sake |
11/1(+31%) | (4) For Old Times Sake 11/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 2l, in a maiden over 3m at Liscarroll on latest start. Returning from a long layoff and faces a stiff task. Placed in two 3m Irish points and beaten under 2l by a good horse in the latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (33/1 -18%)Bamber |
33/1(-18%) | (2) Bamber 33/1, Raced a bit freely but ran to form when comfortably held in a bumper at Kempton last time. Returning from a long layoff and has plenty to prove. Beaten a good way in his two bumpers, albeit in races won by good prospects. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (40/1 +50%)Eastern Shores |
40/1(+50%) | (10) Eastern Shores 40/1, Went clear but made too much use of herself and was well beaten in a novice hurdle here last time. Wears a hood for the first time. Point winner who showed promise in 2m bumpers and acts on good ground; one for handicaps over hurdles in due course. Hasn't looked a winner waiting to happen in two runs over hurdles after wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (66/1 -65%)Sense Of Reason |
66/1(-65%) | (7) Sense Of Reason 66/1, Had too much to do after missing the break when fourth, beaten 8l, in a 10f handicap at Chelmsford last time. Trainer in form and returns from a short break, but has plenty on his plate. Won his penultimate Flat start (1m2f on Chelmsford AW) but that was a Class 6. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (100/1 +0%)Ever Ready |
100/1(+0%) | (11) Ever Ready 100/1, Departed when held on last appearance and returns after a very lengthy absence. Effective at 2m but yet to show much and best watched for now. Modest form in two bumpers and as many races over hurdles during 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (250/1 -25%)Glenmuick |
250/1(-25%) | (5) Glenmuick 250/1, Made mistakes and found little when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Warwick last time. Needs significant improvement. Tailed off in a bumper at Worcester and a 2m maiden hurdle at Warwick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (250/1 -25%)Saachi |
250/1(-25%) | (6) Saachi 250/1, Never threatened and continued in moderate form when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Southwell most recently. Acts on good ground but remains an inconsistent maiden in both codes. Lowly rated Flat maiden who has made a very quiet start to life over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

2024 Derby runner-up AMBIENTE FRIENDLY should have learned plenty from his fourth-placed hurdle debut at Cheltenham and makes grand appeal. The four-year-old showed signs of inexperience and this emphasis on speed is likely to suit. Wondering Why arrives on the back of a promising third at Southwell and may give the selection most to think about, although it would be no surprise to see Bobajob bounce back to form tackling timber for the first time.

Former high-class Flat performer AMBIENTE FRIENDLY hinted at a future over hurdles when running well for a long way at Cheltenham.

5/6(-4%) | (1) Djelo 5/6, Won this race last year and again showed his ability when landing the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase (Grade 2) at Wetherby over 3m by a length last time. Effective from 2½m to 3m; progressive and not quite top class but remains the one to beat. Won this last year and defends on the back of winning Wetherby's Charlie Hall. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/4 +32%)Saint Sam |
9/4(+32%) | (3) Saint Sam 9/4, Keen and went clear, ran to form and would have won but for hitting the last; a good ride. Enjoys making the running; effective around 2½m and handles any ground. Consistent type who likes small fields and could get an easy lead. Free-going front-runner on a track that will play to his strengths. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/1 +25%)Boombawn |
9/1(+25%) | (4) Boombawn 9/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 4¼l, in the Old Roan Limited Handicap Chase (Grade 2) at Aintree on return from a break. Best at 2½m on good ground; steadily progressive but this looks tougher and he needs the rain to stay away. Looked a bit rusty when just over 4l behind Hitman on these terms at Aintree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (10/1 -54%)Hitman |
10/1(-54%) | (2) Hitman 10/1, Idled in front but returned to form down in trip when winning the Old Roan Limited Handicap Chase (Grade 2) at Aintree by 2l last time. Best around 2½m; still well treated on past form but can be tricky to win with. Back to something like his best in winning the Old Roan over this far at Aintree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (14/1 +13%)Edwardstone |
14/1(+13%) | (5) Edwardstone 14/1, Triple Grade 1 winner who needed the run when fourth, beaten 31l, in the Shloer Chase (Grade 2) over 2m at Cheltenham last time. Effective at 2m and acts on any going; not the force of old but retains some class. He's not as good as he was and has won only one of his last 16 races. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

DJELO looked better than ever when landing the Charlie Hall on his return at Wetherby and there could be more to come. Venetia Williams' charge arrives as the highest-rated rival and is taken to land this contest for a second consecutive year. Saint Sam ended last season with a decent second in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse and isn't taken lightly, while Hitman bounced back to form when landing the Old Roan Chase at Aintree.

Last year's winner Djelo is the form pick but SAINT SAM (nap) has a lot in his favour and could enjoy an uncontested lead.

1/1(+33%) | (14) Wonderful Everyday 1/1, Very promising debut when winning by 2l in a 4yo bumper over 2m1f at Punchestown. Effective at 2m on good ground; strong debut form and more to come from this likely type for a top yard. Did well to beat male opposition (some of them useful) in a valuable Punchestown bumper. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Babs sprung a 22/1 surprise to make a winning bumper debut at Stratford in October and based on the manner of that victory, she has to be respected. Great Dance boasts a similar profile after scoring on her first start at Newton Abbot, but LUNE BRILLANTE gets the nod. The daughter of Walk In The Park made her way through the field to strike in ready fashion at Carlisle last month and Harry Skelton prefers her over stablemate Katios Queen, so that might be a tip in itself.

Competitive. LUNE BRILLANTE, a half-sister to six winners, impressed in brushing aside a well-touted Irish point winner at Carlisle.
Ths is the racecard key.
