(2) (11/8 -25%)Moonshine |
11/8(-25%) | (2) Moonshine 11/8, Wide trip, would have won with a smoother passage when second beaten a head in a novice at Lingfield latest; effective 6/7f, acts on a sound surface; unlucky latest and should find a race soon. The one to beat with this track likely to suit better than Lingfield. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/4 +18%)Archer's Grace |
9/4(+18%) | (4) Archer's Grace 9/4, Bit keen but hit the line well, promising debut when runner-up beaten 2 1/2l in a novice here only start; trainer in form; returning from a break; effective at 7f on AW; fair chance in this. Very pleasing debut here; major claims if coping with dropping back a furlong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/1 -120%)Thai Princess |
11/1(-120%) | (5) Thai Princess 11/1, 5,000gns Bangkok filly; dam very useful at 5f at 2yo; top course jockey/trainer combination; well worth a market check on debut. Trainer over 20% with 3yos in AW maidens/novices last five years; market useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (20/1 -150%)Queen Sana |
20/1(-150%) | (3) Queen Sana 20/1, Made too much use of and didn't stay up in trip beaten 6l in a novice at Wolverhampton last time; in good form prior; off a short-break; suited by 6f, acts on AW; open to some progress. Finished weakly over 7f last time but has a shout on previous two efforts over this trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Archer's Grace outran her odds on debut and sole juvenile start when taking the silver medal home over 7f here in October and has to be of interest. Market support behind newcomer Thai Princess would need to be taken seriously, but it's hard to get away from MOONSHINE. Ed Walker's filly was unable to justify favouritism but was only just touched off at Lingfield last month and this looks like a good opportunity to go one better.

Ed Walker's MOONSHINE shaped much the best at Lingfield three weeks ago and can go one better on this more suitable track.

(3) (25/1 -25%)I'm Just Ken |
25/1(-25%) | (3) I'm Just Ken 25/1, Fair effort in a tongue-tie on debut behind good winner when third beaten 10l in a novice at Wolverhampton debut; probably effective 7f, acts on AW; step up in trip may suit. (1) (66/1 -65%)Bumaan |
66/1(-65%) | (1) Bumaan 66/1, Looked to want further on debut when well beaten in a novice at Chelmsford; bred for middle-distances; likely improver when given a distance of ground. No immediate promise when sent off 14-1 for debut at Chelmsford 11 days ago (7f). |

80/1(-60%) | (5) Kenergy 80/1, 77,000 euros Kendargent gelding; half-brother to Venecia Style, very smart at 6f as 2yo; wide draw doesn't make things easy on debut and he's likely up against it. 77,000euros yearling; the sole newcomer and he has a pretty high standard to aim at. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (150/1 -50%)Kakirra |
150/1(-50%) | (4) Kakirra 150/1, Outpaced, looking to need further when fourth beaten 19l in a novice at Wolverhampton latest; probably wants 10f+; needs more time and probably low-grade handicaps. Trailed in last on debut and didn't achieve much more when behind I'm Just Ken last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (500/1 -150%)Crimson Dawn |
500/1(-150%) | (8) Crimson Dawn 500/1, Ran green and missed break when well beaten in a maiden at Lingfield only start; tongue-tie first time; off a short-break; stamina on sire's side, speed on dam's; looks to need more time. 200-1 last of eight on debut at Lingfield ten weeks ago (1m); can't consider. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A rating of 93 was handed to NEW MONARCH after finishing fourth in the Goffs Million on his final juvenile start at the Curragh in September. With the Andrew Balding yard in fine order, the son of Acclamation could prove very hard to beat. Despite a tardy start, El Nay shaped with promise when second on his introduction at Lingfield and this drop in trip looks the right move. Spirit Of Saxony is the pick of the remainder.

Andrew Balding's NEW MONARCH is the call. He earned a BHA mark of 93 by running well at four Group 1 tracks last year.

11/4(+69%) | (3) French Affair 11/4, Ran to current level when fourth beaten 6 1/2l in a nursery at Newbury latest; effective 6/7f, acts on soft and good to firm; consistent sort. Last race perhaps came too soon; could bounce back, with real hope for AW on breeding. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (4/1 -20%)Kilkenny Warrior |
4/1(-20%) | (2) Kilkenny Warrior 4/1, Yard won this last year; improved again landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 7lb lower mark at Lingfield last time; effective 6/7f, acts on AW; more to come and may land hat-trick. 7/1(-75%) | (4) Acclaimed Freedom 7/1, Built on debut effort, step down in class and up in trip suited when winning a novice at Chelmsford by 3/4l last time; since undergone a wind op; effective at 6/7f on soft and AW; open to further progress now handicapping. Opening mark looks fair and yard does well with runners following wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (15/2 -200%)Hardstyle |
15/2(-200%) | (5) Hardstyle 15/2, Settled well and looked to improve a little when landing a handicap by 2 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time; suited by 7-9f, acts on AW; mark competitive still and reliable sort. Three ready wins in handicap company; can't be discounted if taking to this place. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (14/1 -75%)Ecclefechan |
14/1(-75%) | (1) Ecclefechan 14/1, Ran to form dropped in trip when beaten a neck off a 1lb lower mark at Lingfield last time; returning from a break; effective 5-7f, acts on sound surface; exposed but further drop in grade a possible help. Narrow PB last time; return to 7f a plus and has reasonable claims of going one better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (18/1 -29%)Dublin Bay |
18/1(-29%) | (6) Dublin Bay 18/1, Bit keen but ran to form tried in cheekpieces beaten 1 1/2l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; returning from a break; suited by 6/7f, acts on sound surface; needs to settle better this time. Did well at two and has C&D experience, but suspect others are open to more improvement. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KILKENNY WARRIOR has proven a different proposition since tackling handicap company, winning at Southwell and Lingfield, and is now bidding to complete the hat-trick. Her most recent comfortable victory suggests a 7lb higher mark should be within her capabilities. Hardstyle regained the winning thread over an extended mile at Wolverhampton earlier in the month and commands respect, while Lion of Mali is another to keep a close eye on.

Sole filly KILKENNY WARRIOR was so authoritative in her final two juvenile starts that she earns the vote.

7/2(-27%) | (4) Apiarist 7/2, Ran to best form landing a AWC Mile Trial Handicap by a neck off a 3lb lower mark at Lingfield last time; effective 7/8f, acts on any; likely to go well once again despite being up to highest mark yet. Bids to make it 5-9 on AW but has never run here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (16/1 -33%)God Of War |
16/1(-33%) | (6) God Of War 16/1, Bit keen but ran to form on return beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; effective 7-9f, acts on soft, good to firm and AW; good chance here if settling better. Just a fair return/AW debut over C&D three weeks ago and more is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (16/1 -100%)Serengeti |
16/1(-100%) | (2) Serengeti 16/1, Tad below form, didn't quite stay when fourth beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Southwell latest; off a short-break; suited by 7f, doesn't quite get 8f, acts on soft and AW; drop in trip may be ideal on debut for new yard. Ran Sarab Star pretty close on debut for Dylan Cunha; starts out for another new yard here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (22/1 -83%)Golden Mind |
22/1(-83%) | (3) Golden Mind 22/1, Ran to best landing a Sprint Handicap by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark at Doncaster last time; returning from a break; effective 6-7f on heavy, good and AW; chance in this if ready to roll. Others may be better treated on this return to action. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (33/1 -32%)Tiger Crusade |
33/1(-32%) | (7) Tiger Crusade 33/1, Ran to form albeit maybe didn't stay when sixth beaten 2 1/4l off 85 last time, same mark here; best at 7f, effective at 6f, acts on good to firm and AW; bounce back needed dropping in trip. Has a few things to recommend him but this may not be run to suit. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Most of these have claims, but marginal preference is for APIARIST. The five-year-old won a competitive contest over a mile at Lingfield last time and a 3lb rise for that success should be workable. The unexposed Sarab Star merits plenty of respect on his return to action, despite a career-high mark, while Golden Mind and God Of War are others to consider.

Ready preference is for Jack Channon's SARAB STAR (nap) who could make up into a Pattern horse this year.

Knocking on the door but draw could have been kinder for this return to action. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (14/1 -56%)Arantes Nascimento |
14/1(-56%) | (8) Arantes Nascimento 14/1, Ran to form beaten 2 1/4l off this mark at Chelmsford last time; wide draw; effective 7f, acts on good to soft, good and AW; running well of late and can go well again. Frustrating run of seconds; player if able to tuck in from a wide draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (16/1 +68%)Caph Star |
16/1(+68%) | (4) Caph Star 16/1, Too keen and well below form back from over three years off down the field in a handicap here most recent; in good form prior; hood first time; returning from a break; effective at 8f, acts on G, AW; remains to be seen what ability remains. (13) (33/1 -175%)Valentine Boy |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (33/1 -106%)Rhythm N Rock |
33/1(-106%) | (11) Rhythm N Rock 33/1, Ran to form up in trip beaten 8l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; off a short-break; effective 8/9f, acts on AW; chance on recent form. Lurks on a dangerous mark but Final Night looks a safer option for John Butler fans. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (66/1 -32%)Midnight's Dream |
66/1(-32%) | (12) Midnight's Dream 66/1, Never in it from off the pace when down the field in a handicap here most recent; effective at 7/8f, acts on good to firm and AW; bounce back needed. Down the field in two C&D runs for this yard; Jack Mitchell returns to the saddle. |

125/1(-89%) | (9) Mckenna 125/1, Didn't get home back up in trip down the field in a handicap at Southwell most recent; effective 7/8f, acts well on AW; might need a drop in trip. Beaten a long way all four starts for this yard, last two following wind surgery. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The recent Lingfield winner Sea Founder has to be of interest once again, although the vote goes to FINAL NIGHT. John Butler's gelding has won his last three starts over C&D and he was beaten by less than a length when third off this mark at Newcastle last time. Arantes Nascimento is likely to be in the mix once again, while Atmosphere and Jazzy Baby are others with claims.

Sea Founder should cope with dropping back to 1m but FINAL NIGHT, who won a Class 3 on his last outing over C&D, looks the answer.

16/1(-60%) | (7) Brazen Idol 16/1, Bit below par beaten 6l in a handicap at Windsor last time; effective at 6f on a sound surface; all to prove back from lengthy absence. Hefty absence to defy but the handicapper has given this two-time C&D winner a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (50/1 -213%)Oberon Hill |
50/1(-213%) | (8) Oberon Hill 50/1, Below form, didn't get home upped in trip tried in a hood beaten 6l in a handicap at Wetherby last time; in good form prior; returning from long layoff; effective 7/8f on AW; headgear removed and could do better. Returns from absence but sprinting might suit this lightly raced 5yo; monitor the betting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SERENITY DREAM won over C&D in January and only found one too good when last seen three weeks ago. A reproduction of either of those efforts would give the five-year-old a big chance here. Invincible Speed was not far behind the selection last time and could prove to be the main threat, although Amazonian Dream and Em Four should not be written off.

Kempton brings out the best in SERENITY DREAM, who went close over C&D last time, and he can go one better today.

11/1(+67%) | (2) Far And Above 11/1, Never in it from off the pace well beaten in a handicap at Southwell latest; effective at 8f, acts on AW; step back up in trip may help. Particularly disappointing on handicap debut; enough to prove back over further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (33/1 -175%)Ice Opera |
33/1(-175%) | (9) Ice Opera 33/1, Disappointing effort back in a handicap when well beaten in a handicap at Wolverhampton latest; off a short-break; suited by 10-12f, acts on any ground; drop in trip could suit but needs to bounce back. Rather watch having reportedly bled last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JOSEPH did well to justify favouritism over 1m2f at Lingfield considering he was badly hampered early on and had to then pass all to win. A further step up in trip could bring about more improvement and he is fancied to defy a 3lb rise. Tetsworth has gone unpunished for his second in an amateur jockeys' handicap over 1m2f at Chelmsford and stepping up in distance should do him no harm either. The lightly-raced Imperial Decision is another player with Billy Loughnane on board.

This looks best left to TETSWORTH who has shown a bit under both codes since purchased for 16,000gns in October.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KING'S HAND is far from straightforward, often slowly into stride and a keen-going sort, but he has been in fine form at Lingfield of late and looks the one to beat on his course debut. This is just his second start for the Joseph Parr stable, and Luke Morris is back in the plate having won on the gelding two runs ago. Seventy has also been doing well at Lingfield and should be in the mix once again, while Muy Muy Loco warrants respect off his light weight.

Having foiled a five-timer and gone down by just a length on his last two starts, KING'S HAND is the selection.
Ths is the racecard key.
