|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/2 +0%)Yasalam |
11/2(+0%) | (5) Yasalam 11/2, Moderate debut run, bit too free 5l fourth in a maiden at Wolverhampton first-time out; bred to be suited by around 7-8f; could improve if settling but needs to. Showed good pace when fourth of six over 7f on sole 2yo start; not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BAREFOOT BEACH's debut win probably came as something of a surprise given her SP of 25/1, but she was impressive in thumping a few decent rivals over C&D and is fancied to carry a penalty to further success. The race-fit Mehmas Engine looks the main threat given her likelihood to improve over this extra furlong. Yasalam appeals most of the remainder.

Having created a good impression when winning on her debut over C&D last September, BAREFOOT BEACH is taken to make it 2-2.

1st (2) (3/1 +14%)Escape Plan |
3/1(+14%) | (2) Escape Plan 3/1, Fair run off a break on handicap debut beaten 3l off a 2lb higher mark at Lingfield last time; effective 6f, acts on good to soft and AW; should come on from reappearance run. An improver last season and performed below market expectations on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/1 -80%)Orange Emperor |
9/1(-80%) | (4) Orange Emperor 9/1, Every chance, below form when fourth beaten 7 1/4l in a novice at Southwell latest; effective 6f; debut form franked, could bounce back now handicapping. His yard's patient approach offers hope for him making a better 3yo. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/10 +37%)Southern Warrior |
11/10(+37%) | (1) Southern Warrior 11/10, Ran to form on handicap debut landing a handicap by a neck off a 3lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; effective 5/6f, acts on AW; consistent, latest form franked, remain competitive off revised mark. Benefited from the stands' rail last week at Newcastle but he's gone up only 3lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/2 +13%)Staniel Cay |
7/2(+13%) | (5) Staniel Cay 7/2, Touch unbalanced as pace quickened beaten 4l in a novice at Lingfield last time; trainer in form; stays 6f, acts on a sound surface; big colt, can improve on reappearance run. Goes handicapping off a low mark and may yet do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (14/1 -155%)Zoustar Dreams |
14/1(-155%) | (3) Zoustar Dreams 14/1, Too far back but may not have stayed 6f off fast pace beaten 8 1/4l in a novice at Chelmsford last time; blinkers first time; effective at 6f, possibly prove better minimum trip, acts on AW; quite small, nippy filly, reliable but may want 5f ideally. Form of her two best runs gives her a chance off this mark; blinkers go on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Each of these remain open to improvement but it looks best to stick with SOUTHERN WARRIOR, who took a leap forward to win on his handicap bow at Newcastle. The runner-up has gone one better since and, with that in mind, a 3lb rise might be lenient. Staniel Cay and Orange Emperor are both bred to be better than their opening marks so must be feared.

Tom Ward's ESCAPE PLAN was presumably expected to fare better at Lingfield in his first handicap and he's given another chance.

Won at Newcastle in December on third start and she's respected on her handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (6/5 +4%)Plaid |
6/5(+4%) | (5) Plaid 6/5, Improved from promising debut when winning a novice here by 1/2l last time; trainer in form; returning from a break; effective at 8f, acts on AW; big, strong sort, probably bit to come and opening mark looks lenient. Won over C&D in December on second start; in excellent hands to continue to progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (9/1 +0%)Melody De Vega |
9/1(+0%) | (6) Melody De Vega 9/1, Bit below form but did see out the longer trip 4l third in a novice at Wolverhampton most recent run; effective 7f on AW, well treated on penultimate run; danger. Placed at Wolverhampton on final two 2yo starts; possible player on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (2/1 +50%)Jazzy Baby |
2/1(+50%) | (2) Jazzy Baby 2/1, Ran to form, possibly hit front too soon in a race where pace collapsed beaten 1 1/4l off this mark here last time; effective 8f, acts on AW; consistent, likeable type with more to come. C&D maiden winner; third over C&D in first two handicaps and she could be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (14/1 -17%)Izz'nt She Hot |
14/1(-17%) | (7) Izz'nt She Hot 14/1, Outclassed by first two but fair reappearance 8l third in a novice at Southwell most recent run; effective at 7f, bred for 10f+, acts on AW; only useful but essentially consistent. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (16/1 -33%)Holy Fire |
16/1(-33%) | (3) Holy Fire 16/1, Scored by 2l off a 4lb lower mark here penultimate start; forced to switch, ran to form seeing out the longer trip fifth beaten 2l off 66 last time, same mark here; effective 6/7f, acts on good to soft, good and AW; unexposed at 1m, can go well again. Promise over C&D on first crack at 1m; a strong gallop would help but she might not get it. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Jazzy Baby has held her form well since winning over C&D in January but might struggle conceding so much weight to PLAID, who has been freshened up since landing a novice event here in December. She and fellow three-year-old Art Gallery both enter handicaps from a potentially workable mark, but James Fanshawe's filly is preferred on this occasion. Melody De Vega is not without a chance either.

C&D novice winner PLAID has the potential to be better than her opening mark and earns the vote ahead of Art Gallery.

7/2(+30%) | (2) Galaxy Star 7/2, Found nil up in grade, possibly something amiss well beaten in Alan Swinbank Mares' NH Flat Race (Listed) at Market Rasen latest; in good form prior and a debut winner in that sphere; off a short-break; top jockey booked for Flat debut; can go well. Bumper winner who has a Flat pedigree and could go well on first run in this code. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/4 +44%)Semper Femina |
9/4(+44%) | (7) Semper Femina 9/4, 80,000 euros Lucky Vega filly; half-sister to Taamol, smart at 7f; dam moderate at 10f; stable in good form and had recent winning newcomer; watch betting. Half-sister to five winners; makes debut with yard in good form and she's a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (10/11 +24%)Shushi |
10/11(+24%) | (9) Shushi 10/11, Ran similarly to debut effort last time when fourth beaten 6l in a maiden at Ascot latest; top course trainer; bred for 10f+; should improve up in trip and looks the one to beat on form. By Camelot and could improve upon her 1m 2yo form now up in trip on her reappearance. |

40/1(+20%) | (3) Semele 40/1, No obvious excuse down the field in a Mares bumper at Ludlow most recent; in good form prior; off a short-break; all to do. Showed ability in bumpers but Galaxy Star had her measure in that sphere; Flat debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (20/1 +50%)Liveinthelight |
20/1(+50%) | (6) Liveinthelight 20/1, Struggled, too green and started slow well beaten in a maiden at Ascot only start; bred to be much better than that and longer trip should suit; still best watched. Tailed off at 50-1 last September on sole start; however, early days & she cost 290,000gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (300/1 -20%)Six Blue |
300/1(-20%) | (4) Six Blue 300/1, Went clear, made too much use of down the field in a maiden bumper at Hereford most recent; all to do starting out on the Flat. Tailed off at big odds on all three bumper starts; transformation necessary on Flat debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (12/1 +76%)Shirakawa |
12/1(+76%) | (8) Shirakawa 12/1, Raced too freely and wide trip well beaten in a maiden here only start; off a short-break; middle-distance bred; should do better but plenty to find. Well bred and this longer trip can suit but she needs to leave her debut form miles behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (250/1 +0%)Calypso Bloom |
250/1(+0%) | (1) Calypso Bloom 250/1, Poor debut well beaten in a novice at Wolverhampton only start; off a short-break; bred for middle-distances; hard to make a case for. 125-1 when down the field on belated debut at Wolverhampton (9.4f, Tapeta) in December. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

This doesn't appear to be a particularly strong contest based on the evidence of form available, so the vote goes to AUKUS. The daughter of Australia is expected to stay well and makes plenty of appeal on paper in her bid to make a winning debut. Shushi finished fourth on both starts as a juvenile and has every chance of stepping forward, while bumper winner Galaxy Star heads the remainder.

The standard set by those who have raced on the Flat is only modest and the attractively bred newcomer AUKUS could make a winning start.

Close fourth at Lingfield ten days ago and he's also effective over this C&D; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/2 -17%)Tattie Bogle |
7/2(-17%) | (4) Tattie Bogle 7/2, Did too much too soon and set it up for closers, needed run beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark at Southwell last time; effective 6-7f, suited by sound surface; inconsistent but on fair mark, should come on for latest. 0-13 in handicaps but ran pretty well last time and has a career-low mark. |

Down the field in first two handicaps but gelded since and not ruled out in a tongue-tie. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/5 +4%)Straight A |
9/5(+4%) | (2) Straight A 9/5, Bit too free but ran to form beaten 3/4l off this mark at Newcastle last time; trainer in form; off a short-break; effective 7/8f, acts on sound surface; generally in good form of late but handicapper barely relenting. Beaten on last 14 starts but often runs well and there's every chance he'll be bang there. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/2 +50%)Our Dagger |
7/2(+50%) | (6) Our Dagger 7/2, Well below form, didn't like deep ground down the field in a handicap at Galway most recent; effective 7/8f, acts with cut and AW; return to AW in his favour but bit to prove. Struggling in Ireland last autumn but 2-2 on AW and new trainer's horses are running well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (66/1 -313%)Lunanova |
66/1(-313%) | (5) Lunanova 66/1, Never involved down the field in a handicap at Brighton most recent; suited by 1m on sound surface, likes Brighton; form has levelled off and mark looks high enough. Three wins at Brighton last summer but below best in the autumn; makes stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

STRAIGHT A has been knocking on the door so far in 2026 and this might be the opportunity the five-year-old has been waiting for. Less than a length away in fourth at Newcastle last time, he remains on the same mark and can strike at the chief expense of Me Tarzan, who wasn't beaten far at Lingfield on his latest start. Tattie Bogle completes the shortlist.

A chance is taken on OUR DAGGER, who was out of form on turf when last seen but returns from a break today and is 2-2 on AW.

Lightly raced & market check advised on stable debut but others have more pressing claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/4 +73%)Superstorm |
11/4(+73%) | (5) Superstorm 11/4, Wide, not given a hard time when beaten beaten 7l in a nursery here last time; returning from a break; effective 6/7f, acts on AW; further improvement likely. Inconsistent, winless 2yo campaign but returns having been gelded and is not ruled out. |

Improvement needed but she's bred to be better than this opening mark; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (5/1 +75%)Prancy Peer |
5/1(+75%) | (3) Prancy Peer 5/1, Seemed to stay 1m and run to form beaten 3l off a 3lb higher mark at Lingfield last time; effective at 6/7f, probably stays 1m, acts on AW; consistent but others have been better handicapped of late. 0-6 but weakened when fifth over 1m at Lingfield last time; not ruled out now back at 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (7/1 -75%)South Coast Star |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (7/1 -56%)Archangel Josepi |
7/1(-56%) | (6) Archangel Josepi 7/1, Short of room late but ran to current form beaten 2l off this mark at Newcastle last time; wide draw; suited by 7f, barely stays 1m, acts on AW; consistent. 0-11 but runner-up at Newcastle last time and in the mix if backing up that performance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Gelded and fitted with cheekpieces ahead of his handicap debut, QUICK QUASAR showed immediate improvement when touched off at Southwell last week. Hollie Doyle keeps the partnership intact and the decision to turn the son of Palace Pier out again swiftly can reap reward. Archangel Josepi and South Coast Star also occupied the runner-up berth on their most recent starts, although the latter was behind Archangel Josepi at Newcastle. Better is expected from Amber Hamur now she goes handicapping.

Preference is for QUICK QUASAR (nap), who went very close at Southwell last Thursday on handicap debut. Amber Hamur is feared.

3/1(+63%) | (1) Kindly Queen 3/1, Probably ran to form 5l third in a maiden at Lingfield most recent run; trainer in form; effective 10f, acts on AW; consistent in maidens and looks a likely improver now handicapping over further for a top yard. The step up to 1m4f could prompt improvement from this Nathaniel filly on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (4/1 +27%)Rum Diamond |
4/1(+27%) | (6) Rum Diamond 4/1, Made too much use of down the field in a maiden at Lingfield most recent; cheekpieces first time; returning from a break; effective at 8f, acts on AW; first two runs probably reflect ability. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (15/2 +6%)Salkadan |
15/2(+6%) | (2) Salkadan 15/2, Possibly needed run and further off a break beaten 9 1/4l in a novice at Southwell last time; probably want 10f+ in time; has been running over inadequate trips and this more suitable; opening mark demands more. Upped markedly in trip for h'cap debut; interesting for top jumps yard; watch the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (9/1 -64%)Darn Hot Dame |
9/1(-64%) | (7) Darn Hot Dame 9/1, Not the most willing but stayed well up in trip and to form beaten 2l off this mark at Wolverhampton last time; stays 9f, middle-distance bred, acts on AW, sound surfaces will suit; big filly, probably more to come upped further in distance. Third on handicap debut; pedigree suggests she'll improve again now upped further in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/1 -125%)Wedonttellthetruth |
9/1(-125%) | (3) Wedonttellthetruth 9/1, Cheekpieces on and step-up in trip suited landing a handicap by 2l off a 5lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time; usually held up; suited by 12f, acts on AW; may be more to come. Won when upped to 1m4f on handicap debut and could have more to offer at the distance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (12/1 +25%)Cospicua |
12/1(+25%) | (8) Cospicua 12/1, Scored by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark here penultimate start; found little and disappointing fifth beaten 17l off 54 last time, 1lb lower here; suited by 12f, acts on AW; ran very flat last time but could return to form. Won on handicap debut over C&D and possibly unsuited by Tapeta at Newcastle since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (22/1 +33%)Jambearee |
22/1(+33%) | (11) Jambearee 22/1, Struggled to get involved again, one for handicaps down the field in a novice at Thirsk most recent; has failed to get home both starts; all to prove. Up in trip on handicap debut; watch the betting, but he's achieved little thus far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (40/1 -186%)Private Project |
40/1(-186%) | (9) Private Project 40/1, Ran to form upped in trip beaten 3l off a 2lb higher mark at Lingfield last time; effective 7f, stays 10f, acts on a sound surface; consistent at 3yo but bit more needed to get off the mark. Kept on nicely over 1m2f last time but now 0-7 and takes on some unexposed types today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (50/1 -127%)Moon Is Up |
50/1(-127%) | (5) Moon Is Up 50/1, Forced wide from poor draw down the field in a nursery here most recent; returning from a break; effective at 9f, acts on AW; type to do better handicapping but may just need this. Well beaten over 1m here on h'cap debut but it's possible she'll relish this longer trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Montu beat Darn Hot Dame to the silver medal at Wolverhampton and then did the same to Private Project when chasing home a subsequent winner at Lingfield. Wedonttellthetruth made a victorious handicap bow at Wolverhampton, but KINDLY QUEEN is fancied to do that this time. From the family of Al Kazeem, a mark of 65 seems more than fair considering she has finished third a couple of times and, as a daughter of Nathaniel, she should relish the extra quarter-mile.

Salkadan is an interesting runner for Dan Skelton but fellow handicap newcomer RUM DIAMOND is arguably even more intriguing.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK.
