8/1(-23%) | (5) Ipanema Beach 8/1, Yard has won 3 of last 5 runnings of race; ran to form a length third in a maiden over 7f at The Curragh most recent run; consistent; danger if stamina holds up Has advanced his RPRs with each run; his yard has won this race three times in four years. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (200/1 -100%)Monvoe |
200/1(-100%) | (7) Monvoe 200/1, Slowly away well beaten in a maiden over 7f at Gowran Park only start; all to do and likely outclassed 33-1 when in rear throughout at Gowran and instantly opposable here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (250/1 -150%)Sceitimini |
250/1(-150%) | (8) Sceitimini 250/1, 21 Feb; Dandy Man gelding; half-brother to May Remain, smart at 5f; dam moderate at 12f; looks out of depth Trainer-owned newcomer and probably up against it against some regally-bred opposition. |

BENVENUTO CELLINI made a pleasing start when runner-up to odds-on stablemate Dorset over 7f at the Curragh on Irish Derby weekend. The son of Frankel certainly wasn't friendless in the market and can be expected to build on that promising debut. Ipanema Beach has kept good company on all three outings in maidens won by smart Ballydoyle colts and should appreciate this step up in trip. Riding arrangements suggest Limestone, a half-brother to Irish Derby runner-up Lone Eagle, is preferred of Joseph O'Brien's pair. Paddy Twomey introduces Bond, who cost 220,000gns at the Craven Breeze-Up Sale.

National Stakes entrant BENVENUTO CELLINI made a hugely promising debut at the Curragh and looks nailed on to improve on that.

1st (2) (12/1 +14%)Barbizon |
12/1(+14%) | (2) Barbizon 12/1, Beaten 9l in an auction race at The Curragh on debut but did run well to a point; could progress but plenty to find Positives to take from his debut at the Curragh where fifth of 14 in a 1m maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 -60%)Rion Rubette |
3/1(-60%) | (4) Rion Rubette 3/1, Ideally suited by trip when winning a handicap at Limerick over 7f by 8l last time; steadily progressive; stamina to prove up in trip but danger Bolted up in a handicap latest; new mark entitles her to be competitive with Tribal Nation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (1/3 +42%)Tribal Nation |
1/3(+42%) | (1) Tribal Nation 1/3, Yard won this last year; did not get a clear run beaten 3l in a handicap at Ascot last time; usually consistent; top course trainer; sets clear standard; tough to oppose Close sixth of 30 in the Britannia and could be hard to beat in a race of this nature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (50/1 -52%)Bold Spirit |
50/1(-52%) | (3) Bold Spirit 50/1, Slowly away well beaten in a maiden here only start where showed little; top course jockey; off a short-break; hard to recommend Made his debut over C&D and trailed home out the back at odds of 150-1. |

TRIBAL NATION, a creditable sixth in the Britannia at Royal Ascot last time, won a Galway maiden on heavy ground last autumn and appears to have been found a good opportunity to add to his tally having kept good company in three outings on a sounder surface this season. Rion Rubette showed much improved form when recording a wide-margin win over 7f at Limerick last month and the handicapper reacted by raising her 18lb. It will be interesting to see if she can back up that effort. Barbizon showed some promise on debut at the Curragh and should progress.

Rion Rubette was a sharp improver last time but TRIBAL NATION's form has the greater substance and he should be tough to beat.

14/1(+50%) | (12) Vlhova 14/1, Made too much use of down the field in a handicap over 9f at Tipperary most recent; best form on AW; others preferred Third of 17 over 1m at Cork before a weakener at Tipperary; looking exposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (15/2 -25%)Beautiful Affair |
15/2(-25%) | (9) Beautiful Affair 15/2, Ran to form beaten 2l off 70 over 7f at Tipperary last time; top course trainer; inconsistent in short career; best form on AW; risky Better at Tipperary (extended 7f) where she had to be switched before running on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (9/2 +18%)Dahlia Noir |
9/2(+18%) | (2) Dahlia Noir 9/2, Ran to form fourth beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap over 9f at Leopardstown latest; consistent; best form on easier ground; bit to find on these terms Only 1-8; looks handicapped about right so the jockey's claim is welcomed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (13) (14/1 +44%)Touted Plan |
14/1(+44%) | (13) Touted Plan 14/1, Beaten 7l in a handicap at Roscommon last time; tongue-tie first time; significant jockey booking; off a short-break; fair mark on maiden form; interesting at a price back up in trip Never that dangerous but kept on to be eighth of 15 on handicap debut at Roscommon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (5/1 -11%)Naoi |
5/1(-11%) | (8) Naoi 5/1, Well backed 2l third in a maiden over 7f at Down Royal most recent run; trainer in form; consistent in maidens; longer trip should help; leading claims off lenient opening mark Beaten favourite in two of her maidens but doesn't look overburdened for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (50/1 -127%)Red Veil |
50/1(-127%) | (6) Red Veil 50/1, Probably needed race beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap over 6f at Fairyhouse last time; form in and out prior; looks too high in weights Only sixth of eight on handicap debut over 6f; some stamina concerns over this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (8/1 +27%)Faoladh |
8/1(+27%) | (7) Faoladh 8/1, Well treated at weights when scored by 1/2l off 66 at Leopardstown penultimate start; fifth beaten 5l off 73 last time; drop back in trip a plus; contender Fifth last time at Tipperary (1m1f) suggests he might now be high in the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (14) (25/1 -14%)All Told |
25/1(-14%) | (14) All Told 25/1, Appeared not to stay fourth beaten 24l in a maiden over 12f at Limerick latest where too keen; top course trainer; bit to find even off light weight 0-5 in maidens and doesn't look obviously progressive ahead of this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (28/1 -27%)Edergole's Angel |
28/1(-27%) | (10) Edergole's Angel 28/1, Below par beaten 6l in a handicap over 10f at Down Royal last time; in good form prior; strong stayer at the trip; not out of it if getting decent test No wins in ten but respected on some flashes of her form, having placed in three handicaps. |

VEGA'S MUSE is steadily improving and appears weighted to go close. The Jessica Harrington-trained filly and Faoladh were only separated by half a length when filling the places behind Refreshment over this trip at Leopardstown last month and the form of that race has worked out very well since. The selection now meets subsequent winner Faoladh on 8lb better terms. Beautiful Affair hasn't enjoyed a clear run on her latest two starts, while others to consider include Far From Dandy and Dahlia Noir. Naoi has been placed on all three maiden appearances and is bred to appreciate this step up to a mile.

An open handicap. NAOI hasn't lived up to market expectations in her maidens but she brings potential into handicaps.

4th (9) (40/1 +0%)Imposing Supreme |
40/1(+0%) | (9) Imposing Supreme 40/1, Ran to form beaten 6l in a handicap over 7f at Laytown last time; in good form prior; returning from long layoff; top jockey back on board; chance if fit but may just need this Likeable 9yo, best days have come at Galway, 4lb above last win and may need this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (8/1 +50%)Exquisite Acclaim |
8/1(+50%) | (6) Exquisite Acclaim 8/1, Below par beaten 3l off 82 over 7f at Fairyhouse last time; generally consistent; probably bit to come judged on AW form but better on that surface Best on AW, has run well last twice at 7f on turf, has won over 1m on AW, place chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (11/2 +31%)Martinelli |
11/2(+31%) | (12) Martinelli 11/2, Landed a handicap by 2 1/4l off 63 at Limerick last time; trainer in form; consistent on varying ground; contender off light weight C&D winner, solid 1m form this term, easy win at Limerick latest, up 8lb, more to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (11/4 -69%)Alpha Capture |
11/4(-69%) | (8) Alpha Capture 11/4, Did not get a clear run beaten 3/4l off 74 over 9f at Leopardstown last time; top course jockey; consistent; versatile ground wise; claims obvious C&D winner off 6lb lower last year, fine run on return from break latest, should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

9th (5) (8/1 +68%)Presence |
8/1(+68%) | (5) Presence 8/1, Did not get a clear run down the field in a handicap at The Curragh most recent; generally out of form; top jockey back on board; off a short-break; others preferred Hit hard by handicapper for listed fourth, remains 10lb above last win, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (12/1 -118%)Amemri |
12/1(-118%) | (10) Amemri 12/1, Did not get a clear run landing a handicap by 3/4l off 68 at Limerick last time; hugely progressive on AW and turf; should show some improvement Mare has won her last five in a row, career best on latest, another needed here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (25/1 -108%)Perfect Judgement |
25/1(-108%) | (3) Perfect Judgement 25/1, Raced freely beaten 3/4l off 86 at Limerick last time; good mark on winter AW form; sound surface suits; in the mix Narrowly denied at Limerick last month, in the mix again off the same mark. |

ALPHA CAPTURE likes to be held up for a late run and scored here 12 months ago. Those tactics rely on some good fortune and he didn't have the clearest of runs when a very promising second to Tachos on reappearance at Leopardstown last month. Amemri is bidding for a 10th career win and recorded a fifth consecutive victory when successful over this distance at Limerick last time, while Extensio has also been a fine servant to connections but is likely to find this trip too sharp on his reappearance. Nakasero and Martinelli are another two C&D winners to consider towards the bottom of the handicap.

it might pay to side with MARTINELLI. It was hard not to be impressed with his Limerick victory and there could be more to come

3/1(+57%) | (5) Plaza Athenee 3/1, Well beaten in an auction race over 8f at The Curragh only start; step up in trip should suit; top course jockey; place claims if progressing Shaped like further would suit on debut, steps up in trip, Keane keeps faith, interesting. |

3rd (6) (4/1 -167%)Stellar Quality |
4/1(-167%) | (6) Stellar Quality 4/1, Wootton Bassett filly; stamina in pedigree; good yard can get them ready first time; worth following in the betting Wootton Bassett filly, dam a half-sister to winners at 6f-1m4f, check the market. |

25/1(-213%) | (2) Likewhatyousee 25/1, Slowly away beaten 5l in a maiden over 12f at Bellewstown on debut; that good form; drop in trip not certain to suit but fair claims if progressing Slow away but ability on debut at Bellewstown, should improve, leading chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (4/1 +56%)Thilos |
4/1(+56%) | (7) Thilos 4/1, Probably needed race down the field in a maiden over 10f at Naas most recent; top course trainer; off a short-break; step up in trip should suit; stable first string on jockey bookings; could figure Third on heavy at Galway on debut, not as good at Naas latest, unproven on quick ground. |

A staying-on sixth on her debut at the Curragh last month, PLAZA ATHENEE is worth siding with here. John Joseph Murphy likes to target this particular meeting and the daughter of Sir Percy shaped well enough on her introduction to suggest she can improve further. Expected to appreciate this step up in trip, the fact that Colin Keane has stayed loyal is also noteworthy. In a race where those with more experience look somewhat limited, it can pay to side with the once-raced filly. With an official rating of 79, Matrice is probably good enough to win a country maiden at some stage. Newcomer Stellar Quality holds an Irish Oaks entry for Jessica Harrington.

PLAZA ATHENEE shaped as though this sort of trip would suit at the Curragh and the champion jockey keeps the faith

50/1(-25%) | (3) Sporting Aclaim 50/1, 16,000 euros Aclaim gelding; half-brother to Cookie Queen, poor at 10f; dam moderate at 8f; rivals set good standard; watching brief advised Aclaim gelding, closely related to winners at 7.4f-1m2f, likely best watched on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (80/1 +20%)Shakita |
80/1(+20%) | (8) Shakita 80/1, Slowly away well beaten in a maiden over 8f at The Curragh only start beating only 1 home; returning from long layoff; all to do Well-beaten at 33-1 on debut last October, off since, probably best watched. |

Providing that he gets away on terms, the Joseph O'Brien-trained DEFIANTLY can register a first career victory. After losing many lengths at the start on his racecourse debut at Leopardstown, the gelding did remarkably well to be beaten less than a length at the finish. While he will have to avoid a repeat of those antics now, the son of Kameko looks the most likely winner. Little Miss P just about sets the standard of those with more experience. If improving for the additional trip, the Kodi Bear filly should make her presence felt. Edge Of Seventeen is another with genuine prospects in a competitive maiden.

DEFIANTLY ran on strongly after a tardy start on debut at Leopardstown and could be hard to beat if breaking better here

14/1(+44%) | (2) Oranzona 14/1, Appeared not to stay down the field in a maiden over 10f at The Curragh most recent; should come on for the run; usually consistent; stamina concerns over this longer trip but danger if it holds up Handicap debutante, not obviously well-treated but potential improver, check market. |

7th (4) (8/1 +11%)Johnny's Oasis |
8/1(+11%) | (4) Johnny's Oasis 8/1, Comfortably held in a handicap over 10f at Ballinrobe last time; significant jockey booking; form going the wrong way; stamina concerns up in trip Good run on h'cap bow at Navan, poor efforts both starts since, others appeal more. |

8th (8) (20/1 -43%)Handmedownmybible |
20/1(-43%) | (8) Handmedownmybible 20/1, Comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Tipperary last time; generally out of form; inconsistent in short career; best efforts on AW; risky Hasn't built on promising Bellewstown fourth, best watched stepped up in distance. |

9th (3) (10/1 +70%)Real Petite |
10/1(+70%) | (3) Real Petite 10/1, Below par down the field in a handicap over 10f at Navan most recent; usually consistent; significant jockey booking; off a short-break; best form on AW; best watched for now No impact in maidens or h'cap debut at Navan in April, off since, best watched up in trip. |

Top-weight MAGNOLIA DRIVE should be good enough to get off the mark over this trip. Runner-up at Ballinrobe on her penultimate start, the Joseph O'Brien-trained filly was again doing her best work at the finish when fourth at Tipperary last time. Bred to want a test of stamina, the daughter of Gleneagles will have plenty of time to get organised up this long straight. First-time cheekpieces should also aid her cause. On collateral form, the Andy Slattery-trained Whats New shouldn't be too far away from the selection. His trainer continues to send out winners under both codes. Handicap debutant Oranzona needs to improve, but could be capable of stepping up on her maiden runs.

With the step up in trip almost certain to suit, MAGNOLIA DRIVE (nap) looks the one to be on in first-time cheekpieces
Ths is the racecard key.
