Although unable to justify favouritism at Downpatrick in August, GALILEO SPRINGS offered plenty of encouragement on that second-placed effort. Martin Brassil's mare is open to improvement and this could prove a suitable opportunity for some compensation. Crystabel was running a sound race but for falling at the last flight here 43 days ago and is feared most, ahead of Jazzy Rock.

The 100-rated GALILEO SPRINGS ran okay on her sole previous start on soft and she can get off the mark

A return to the Eoin McCarthy stable proved just the trick for recent Listowel winner CARLA'S PET and there could be more to come. That was the six-year-old's second outing in handicap company and she scored with enough in hand to suggest that an 8lb higher mark is manageable. Shannon Bank travelled kindly on her latest fifth over an extended 2m6f at Galway and, dropping in distance, she isn't taken lightly. Party Pack is the pick of the remainder.

GAOITHE GLORY ran well on soft on debut, his yard won this in 2024 and shaped like this trip would suit at Listowel last time

Corbally Cross failed to justify favouritism when only eighth at Wexford, but he had excuses that day and might be worth another chance. However, JEKIKI showed more when making the frame at Listowel and goes off the same mark. If the seven-year-old is in similar form, she could be the one to beat. Miss Lia didn't fire on her chasing bow at Wexford, but she was a good second there before that and will appreciate the return to timber.

Perhaps CORBALLY CROSS can bounce back from an underwhelming Wexford effort on this slower ground

Gavin Cromwell's charge can gain compensation on this occasion, with Ballinrobe second Warm In Gorey looking best placed to chase him home, despite being winless from 14 starts over fences. Mount Ferns caught the eye when third over hurdles at Listowel and he looks worth another go over the larger obstacles.

An open-looking handicap in which none can be safely ruled out, a tentative vote going to PRINCE OF AIR

(5) William Butler 15/2, Made mistakes and ran below form when comfortably held in a 2m6f maiden hurdle at Downpatrick last time after rising in grade. In good form prior and effective around 3m, suited by good ground. Generally consistent over hurdles with more to come over fences.
Ceiling-rated 110 hurdler; major player if taking to chasing but soft ground a concern.

A significant improver from first to second start over fences when runner-up at Ballinrobe last time out, NASTYA sets the standard on form and she can get off the mark in this sphere for her in-form connections. Runner-up on two of his last four starts over hurdles, William Butler has a pedigree that suggests he is likely to relish a fence and is noted for his leading trainer. Stepping up in trip on her chasing bow makes Glitz And Glamour of interest too.

On the back of a good comeback run at Ballinrobe NASTYA (nap) is a confident selection to make it third time lucky over fences

HIT THE FRAME showed steady improvement in three quick runs during August, culminating with an all-the-way success over 3m1f at Wexford. Having revelled in that pace-setting role, the improving six-year-old could again be hard to deal with despite a 7lb rise. God Help Us won over a similar trip at Ballinrobe last month and looks a key player, along with My Friend The Wind, who was third in that race.

Ballinrobe winner GOD HELP US is taken to follow up, that form franked since by the runner-up's win at Sligo on Wednesday
