A determined winner over C&D on his handicap debut last month, WRYDCROFT is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming and a 3lb rise for that success shouldn't bother Pam Sly's gelding too much. Miakoda returns to the turf with a shout, while Portoro could make his presence felt after going close over 6f here at the end of July.

In an open race, ALBEYOURS can add to her recent C&D win when showing improved form in first-time cheekpieces.

FORDHAM FLYER showed big improvement on his first start for Philip Kirby at Beverley last month. The son of Dream Ahead found plenty for pressure to finish second over the stiff 5f that day and looks one to keep on the right side of with plenty more to come. Koffee And Kale has solid claims back in novice company following a couple of decent efforts in nurseries, while James Tate's yard remains in fine form and Smithills is a newcomer to note.

This looks to be good opportunity for KOFFEE AND KALE to get off the mark. He may have most to fear from debutant Smithills.

THEHUNNEBELLLEGACY seemed to find 7f beyond her at Chester last time. Richard Fahey's filly had shaped much better in a couple of nurseries over this distance on the all-weather before that, and could prove the one to side with. Catterick winner Maasai Mata is not out of this, while Lady Lucky Vegas and Arry Up are both worth a second look handicapping for the first time.

An open nursery. Handicap debutant ARRY UP looks open to more improvement than many after an improved third at Windsor.

OH YES YOU DO may find this easier than her debut second at Goodwood in August. David Menuisier's filly is likely to have benefited from that experience and a breakthrough victory may be imminent. Newcomer Moon Is Up, a half-sister to smart dual-purpose performer Nemean Lion, is a potential fly in the ointment and market support would be interesting. Ammoony and Nor Zamin are others open to improvement.

None of these have overly convincing claims but NOR ZAMIN showed a nice bit of potential on her debut and this longer trip should suit.

Prizeland, a full-sister to the 2022 Derby runner-up Hoo Ya Mal, requires close examination in the betting and a big performance on her opening bid wouldn't surprise. However, TAMZAN has posted two respectable fourth-placed efforts to date and that experience may prove decisive. Lillie Margot offered enough on last month's debut third at Haydock to suggest that she can play a prominent role as well.

Femme Fatale is a danger but LILLIE MARGOT ran a really nice first race at Haydock behind a potentially high-class winner.

Although still open to improvement on his handicap bow, an official rating of 84 does demand more of Natural Force judged on this season's third-placed efforts at Ripon and Newcastle. With that in mind, perseverance may pay dividends with SMART VISION, who has posted two creditable efforts in defeat since landing the spoils at Beverley in August. Knebworth and Tiva are other live threats judged on the pick of their form.

A strong pace looks guaranteed. Smart Vision can go well again but TIVA still has potential in handicaps and is preferred.
Class & Speed Card
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

HOPEWELL ROCK produced a good effort when filling the runner-up spot at Doncaster last month and is just 3lb higher. The son of New Bay could have more to offer on just his third start in a handicap and can score for the in-form George Boughey stable. Sovereign Sea only found one too good at the same venue on his most recent outing and should remain competitive, despite a 2lb higher rating. Spinning Wheel is another to keep an eye on.

The 3yo WARRANT HOLDER (nap) beat the St Leger runner-up in a novice and his latest conqueror is probably pretty good.
Class & Speed Card
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Holbache made it two wins from his last three starts when striking over C&D last month and is likely to be on the premises. However, THE ORGANISER accounted for Havana Gila (third) when returning to winning ways at Brighton and can confirm his authority over that rival to complete a double. Big Apple Jack is far from out of it either.

Bar one blip at York, BIG APPLE JACK has been doing well in handicaps and he came from well behind to be fourth at Ripon last time.
Ths is the racecard key.
