1st (5) (6/1 -80%)Lynches Knock |
6/1(-80%) | (5) Lynches Knock 6/1 May reverse Navan form with Kilbarry Lizzy, a useful second string for Hygge's trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (13) (5/2 +38%)Kilbarry Lizzy |
5/2(+38%) | (13) Kilbarry Lizzy 5/2 Placed on both starts, not certain to uphold Navan form with third-placed Lynches Knock. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/4 +33%)Hygge |
6/4(+33%) | (4) Hygge 6/4 Faded from two out when favourite at Fairyhouse, has an edge over Circle Of Secrets. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (14/1 -75%)Circle Of Secrets |
14/1(-75%) | (2) Circle Of Secrets 14/1 Satisfactory introduction when fourth at Fairyhouse, 7l to find with third-placed Hygge. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (14) (33/1 -50%)Queen Maeve |
33/1(-50%) | (14) Queen Maeve 33/1 By Walk In The Park, good pedigree, potentially interesting filly in the Magnier colours. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (25/1 -127%)Try Them |
25/1(-127%) | (9) Try Them 25/1 Hooded for debut, trainer also runs the once-raced Circle Of Secrets, worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (15) (80/1 -264%)Shirzan |
80/1(-264%) | (15) Shirzan 80/1 Half-sister to two Flat winners; winning dam a half-sister to Group 2 winner Eleonora Duse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (9/1 -13%)O'grady Cracker |
9/1(-13%) | (7) O'grady Cracker 9/1 Failed to live up to market expectations at Naas a fortnight ago, cheekpieces tried now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (250/1 -25%)Datzdjazz |
250/1(-25%) | (11) Datzdjazz 250/1 Dropped away to finish a remote eighth at Cork, in rear at Naas, safe to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (150/1 -200%)Chief Josef |
150/1(-200%) | (1) Chief Josef 150/1 Sixth at Navan, appears well held by the placed horses Kilbarry Lizzy and Lynches Knock. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (80/1 -60%)Starword |
80/1(-60%) | (8) Starword 80/1 Dam an unraced half-sister to three dual-purpose winners for this yard and other winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (3) (4/1 +92%)Ddakji |
4/1(+92%) | (3) Ddakji 4/1 Unraced dam comes from a good family, could go well here for rookie trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (10) (150/1 -127%)Copper Rocker |
150/1(-127%) | (10) Copper Rocker 150/1 Down the field on debut, remote fifth at Navan, held by Kilbarry Lizzy and Lynches Knock. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (12) (250/1 -150%)Eitilt |
250/1(-150%) | (12) Eitilt 250/1 Struggled from an early stage in a Punchestown event in which Kilbarry Lizzy was third. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (6) (18/1 -13%)Mischievous Fun |
18/1(-13%) | (6) Mischievous Fun 18/1 Solid Flat pedigree, apparent second-string for the trainer of O'Grady Cracker. |

O'GRADY CRACKER was sent off favourite for his first start at Naas. The subject of sustained market support, Andy Slattery's gelding ultimately disappointed, but he should step forward from that initial experience and may benefit from the application of cheekpieces. Slattery also saddles newcomer Mischievous Fun, with Gordon Elliott, Emmet Mullins and Ciaran Murphy also doubly represented. The choice of Jack Kennedy, Hygge appears the pic of Elliott's pair, while going on form alone, the twice-placed Kilbarry Lizzy is the one they all have to beat.

Gordon Elliott saddles two who have shown promise, and HYGGE is slightly preferred to Lynches Knock

1st (6) (11/2 +8%)Frankie John |
11/2(+8%) | (6) Frankie John 11/2 Point/bumper winner; placed in all his runs over hurdles, including a Grade 3 last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (11/4 +17%)Jalon D'oudairies |
11/4(+17%) | (9) Jalon D'oudairies 11/4 Classy bumper horse; encouraging second after an absence on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (40/1 -100%)Rusty Harkness |
40/1(-100%) | (10) Rusty Harkness 40/1 Naas debut wasn't devoid of promise but he's the stable second string here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (25/1 +24%)Irish Champ |
25/1(+24%) | (8) Irish Champ 25/1 Recent point winner but the runner-up was making it 0-7 in that scene. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (3/1 -33%)Dani Donadoni |
3/1(-33%) | (2) Dani Donadoni 3/1 Bumper winner and probably succumbed to a good horse in his first maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (300/1 -100%)Double Power |
300/1(-100%) | (3) Double Power 300/1 Unable to win any of his nine points and highly unlikely that he'll be winning this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (3/1 -33%)Forty Coats |
3/1(-33%) | (5) Forty Coats 3/1 Fourth in a Grade 1 at Cheltenham in March; hard to beat if repeating that level of form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (50/1 -52%)Gallant George |
50/1(-52%) | (7) Gallant George 50/1 Runner-up in a point last month but that doesn't look strong form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (100/1 -100%)Kaleo Ametsa |
100/1(-100%) | (12) Kaleo Ametsa 100/1 No closer than 11l in four bumpers; fell three out when 22-1 for hurdling debut at Cork. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (25/1 -56%)Dysart Dolomite |
25/1(-56%) | (4) Dysart Dolomite 25/1 Ayr bumper winner; his run in a Fairyhouse maiden was too bad to be true. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (300/1 -20%)Attanagh |
300/1(-20%) | (1) Attanagh 300/1 Tailed off and pulled up in his first two maidens and was huge odds on both occasions. |

A quality contest, with plenty of winners likely to emerge from this in the coming weeks and months. Gordon Elliott, Willie Mullins and Henry de Bromhead are all doubly represented, with Elliott's JALON D'OUDAIRIES the selection. Out of action for over 20 months after finishing third in the Champion Bumper of 2024, he was second on his return at Cork last month. Likely to step forward from that initial experience over flights, it'll be disappointing if he's not involved towards the business end. An excellent fourth when last seen in the Turners Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham in March, Forty Coats is an obvious danger, while the Denis Hogan-trained Frankie John, point-to-point winner Irish Champ and the Paul Townend-ridden Dani Donadoni are other leading contenders.

If FORTY COATS approaches the form he produced when fourth in the 2m5f Grade 1 at Cheltenham in March then he'll take the beating.

1st (2) (11/1 -47%)Walks In June |
11/1(-47%) | (2) Walks In June 11/1 Maiden winner who contested a Grade 3 last time; respected handicap debutant. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/8 +21%)Fierce Handay |
11/8(+21%) | (4) Fierce Handay 11/8 Looks progressive after winning so well at Fairyhouse; up in trip off an 11lb higher mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (15/2 -7%)Coyote Spirit |
15/2(-7%) | (7) Coyote Spirit 15/2 Tries first-time cheekpieces for this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (13/2 +54%)Come Walk With Me |
13/2(+54%) | (1) Come Walk With Me 13/2 Chasing this season; on maiden hurdle form he could be interesting off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (9/1 -20%)Ma Jacks Hill |
9/1(-20%) | (3) Ma Jacks Hill 9/1 Poor last time but previous effort reads well and blinkers now added on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (11/2 +8%)Sunny South West |
11/2(+8%) | (6) Sunny South West 11/2 1st and 4th in his two hurdle runs; probably capable of better given bumper exploits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (33/1 -371%)Jony R |
33/1(-371%) | (5) Jony R 33/1 Maiden winner; highly tried last time and far from exposed ahead of this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (16/1 -14%)Tequila Talkin' |
16/1(-14%) | (9) Tequila Talkin' 16/1 Winner of a Wexford maiden but backward steps since then in two handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (8/1 +11%)Give Him A Chance |
8/1(+11%) | (8) Give Him A Chance 8/1 Both wins on good ground; given a lot to do last time on a slower surface at Navan. |

MA JACKS HILL struggled to land a blow in a Grade 3 at Navan last month but warrants the utmost respect now running in handicap company for the first time with blinkers applied. Others for the shortlist in this competitive affair are Philip Rothwell's Give Him A Chance, three-time winner Sunny South West and recent well-backed Fairyhouse victor Fierce Handay.

Cases can be made for a few but FIERCE HANDAY arrives here on the back of a clear career best and he could be very progressive.

1st (1) (8/15 -33%)Wodhooh |
8/15(-33%) | (1) Wodhooh 8/15, Travelled smoothly and won cosily, outclassing rivals when dropped in grade to take the Ascot Hurdle (Grade 2) by 2 1/2l on reappearance. Effective over 2 1/2m and highly progressive, with her only hurdles defeat coming against a top-class rival. Has matured into a top-class mare, 8-9 over hurdles, looks a cut above these opponents. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/2 +36%)Feet Of A Dancer |
7/2(+36%) | (3) Feet Of A Dancer 7/2, Did it cosily and improved when benefitting from a drop in grade to win the Grabel Mares Hurdle (Listed) at Punchestown by 9l last time. Effective from 2m to 3m, handles all goings, and remains consistent. Consistent mare, trip-versatile, 9l winner of a 2m2f Listed event at Punchestown on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (18/1 +10%)Dream On Baby |
18/1(+10%) | (2) Dream On Baby 18/1, Improved when suited by good ground and a positive ride at a sharp track to win the Listed Mares' Hurdle at Kempton by 2l last time. Trainer in form. Effective from 2m to 2 3/4m over hurdles; fairly treated and an improver for handicaps but probably vulnerable in this hot contest. Unenviable task here since she meets Wodhooh on 17lb worse than handicap terms. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (5/1 +0%)Sixandahalf |
5/1(+0%) | (5) Sixandahalf 5/1, Disappointing on hurdles return when second, beaten 3 1/2l, in a Conditions Hurdle at Sligo last time. Back from a short break. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m on yielding and good ground. Classy hurdler whose Cheltenham form in spring has been well franked. Runner-up in the Grade 2 Mares' novice at Cheltenham, need tore turn to that level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (80/1 -142%)Mousey Brown |
80/1(-142%) | (4) Mousey Brown 80/1, Outclassed when fourth, beaten 37l, in the Cailin Alainn Mares Hurdle (Listed) at Limerick last time. Returns from a short break. Effective around 2 1/2m on good ground and generally consistent prior to that run but looks out of depth here. Not at her best as a hurdler/chaser this season and not suited by the race conditions here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Racing in Ireland for the first time in over two years, this should be straightforward for WODHOOH. The Gordon Elliott-trained five-year-old went from strength to strength last season and boasts an impressive record of eight wins from nine starts over flights. Successful in Grade 2 company on her return at Ascot last month, she is by far the highest rated runner in the line-up. Easily dismissing some quality rivals when last seen in a Listed heat at Punchestown, Feet Of A Dancer is the danger. A model of consistency, she should give a good account of herself with Sean O'Keeffe aboard. Second in the Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham in March, Sixandahalf also warrants respect.

Beaten only once over hurdles, WODHOOH has consolidated her reputation on a series of visits to Britain. She stands out in this company

1st (9) (9/2 -50%)Kish Bank |
9/2(-50%) | (9) Kish Bank 9/2, Ran to form when third, beaten 10l, in a beginners' chase at Cork last time. Effective around 2 1/2m and handles cut; may stay 3m and is unexposed over fences, looking fairly treated on hurdle form so holds strong claims. Beaten favourite in two outings in beginners' events, may do better in handicap company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (8/1 +27%)Union Station |
8/1(+27%) | (4) Union Station 8/1, Pulled up in the Troytown Handicap Chase (Grade 3) at Navan last time. Suited by 3m or further; consistent but often out-battled. Second over 3m4f at this venue last season, dropped in class after Troytown Chase run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (13) (4/1 +43%)Well Del |
4/1(+43%) | (13) Well Del 4/1, Went for home too soon and was lit up by a first-time visor when second, beaten 4l, in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse last time. Blinkers now fitted; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and handles any ground; well handicapped if building on that latest run. Shaped encouragingly on stable debut, blinkers may help, rider's claim is a big asset. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (28/1 -75%)Caesar Rock |
28/1(-75%) | (11) Caesar Rock 28/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l off a 9lb lower mark at Cork last time. Effective around 2 1/2m, acts on good ground and suited by front-running tactics; fair mark on chase form but can be inconsistent. Put in a good display over hurdles at Cork, poor strike rate over fences (1-22) a negative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (14) (7/2 +53%)Aurea Fortuna |
7/2(+53%) | (14) Aurea Fortuna 7/2, Won by 4l off a 10lb lower mark at Punchestown two starts ago but didn't handle the ground when 12th, beaten 37l off 111, last time. Effective from 2m to 3m and prefers decent ground; was progressing over hurdles and fences before that run. A long way below his best on heavy last time, could bounce back to form on this ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (22/1 -83%)Kiltealy Park |
22/1(-83%) | (6) Kiltealy Park 22/1, Needed the run when well beaten in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 2 3/4m and handles soft and good ground; inconsistent. Won off a 5lb lower mark on her final start last season, may have needed last month's run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (9/1 -80%)Vaureal |
9/1(-80%) | (12) Vaureal 9/1, Returned to form in first-time cheekpieces to land a handicap by 3l off a 6lb lower mark at Fairyhouse last time. Prefers some give and about 2 1/2m; in fair form though does save best for Fairyhouse. Won well for this rider at Fairyhouse and can remain competitive off a 6lb higher mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (33/1 0%)Where's Frankie |
33/1(0%) | (10) Where's Frankie 33/1, Unsuited by a drop in trip and comfortably held in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse last time. Effective over 3m+ and handles soft ground; out of form this year and needs this return to a longer distance. Has recorded four wins at Fairyhouse, only other success gained over 3m4f at this track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (11/1 -22%)Native Speaker |
11/1(-22%) | (1) Native Speaker 11/1, Made mistakes and ran below form when well beaten in a handicap chase at Cork last time. Effective around 2m4f and handles a sound surface; may improve for that return run. Has failed to make much impact in handicaps, stablemate Mystical Goddess is more appealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (8/1 +43%)St Denis's Well |
8/1(+43%) | (8) St Denis's Well 8/1, Won by 4 1/4l off a 20lb lower mark at Navan two starts ago. Poorly placed when sixth, beaten 17l off 120 last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m; could be suited by a drop in class and latest Porterstown run is worth marking up. Won over 2m at Navan from his much lower hurdles mark last month, trip-versatile. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (11/1 -57%)Mystical Goddess |
11/1(-57%) | (3) Mystical Goddess 11/1, Finished third, beaten 4 1/4l, in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse last time. Effective from 2m to 2m3f and likely to stay further; in form with her Fairyhouse run franked at Graded level and may progress in handicaps when upped in trip. Third on all three chase runs, shaped as if this trip will suit when staying on last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (11/1 +21%)Ho My Lord |
11/1(+21%) | (7) Ho My Lord 11/1, Disappointing up in grade when fourth, beaten 34l, in a novice chase at Clonmel last time. Returns from a short break; effective from 2m to 3m and generally consistent though frustrating over fences. No success yet over fences and is beginning to look well exposed, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (20/1 +0%)My Immortal |
20/1(+0%) | (2) My Immortal 20/1, Outpaced and needed the run when well beaten in a handicap chase at Galway last time. Returns from a short break; suited by 3m on soft ground and could build on reappearance, though still a maiden over fences. Two wins from five starts over hurdles, has failed to reach the same standard over fences. |

Paul Gilligan claimed this very contest 12 months ago and saddles an interesting contender in the shape of ZEEBAND. While disappointing since switching to fences, the four-time winning hurdler now starts off in handicap company and could prove nicely treated off a mark of 123. The Gordon Elliott-trained Kish Bank is another handicap debutant in the line-up and while a beaten favourite on his last two starts, he warrants the utmost respect with Carl Millar aboard. Fairyhouse winner Vaureal, Henry de Bromhead's Mystical Goddess and the first-time blinkered Well Del are others for the shortlist in this competitive heat.

On the evidence of a Fairyhouse second, it looks as if Declan Queally has brought about a revival in form for WELL DEL

1st (8) (4/6 -17%)Lossiemouth |
4/6(-17%) | (8) Lossiemouth 4/6, Winner of eight Grade 1s and was impressive when landing the Morgiana Hurdle (Grade 1) at Punchestown by 19l last time. Effective between 2m and 2 1/2m on any ground. Top-class performer whose form has been franked and remains a worthy Champion Hurdle favourite. Only a few lapses in a glittering career, can get the better of a duel with the other mare. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (5/2 +44%)Brighterdaysahead |
5/2(+44%) | (7) Brighterdaysahead 5/2, A triple Grade 1 winner who took this race last year. Finished a 9l third in the Mares Champion Hurdle (Grade 1) at Punchestown last time when weak in the market. Top jockey returns to ride and she holds a chance if bringing her best on reappearance but bit to prove after below par spring runs. Impressed with a stunning win here 12 months ago, failed to spark at the two big festivals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (16/1 +36%)Casheldale Lad |
16/1(+36%) | (2) Casheldale Lad 16/1, Fell late when set for third in the Hatton's Grace Hurdle (Grade 1) at Fairyhouse last time. Likes to make the running and is suited by 2m, though stays 2 1/2m. Yard won this last year and he continues to progress so not ruled out. Running a big race up to the point of his fall at the last in the 2m4f Hatton's Grace. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (6/1 -9%)Anzadam |
6/1(-9%) | (1) Anzadam 6/1, Runner-up when beaten 1 1/2l in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle (Grade 1) at Newcastle last time. Effective at 2m and on heavy or soft ground. Yard has won four of the last five runnings and he looks classy enough to reverse that sole defeat but vulnerable against better rivals here. Lost his unbeaten record in the incident-packed Fighting Fifth, understudy to Lossiemouth. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (28/1 +44%)Hello Neighbour |
28/1(+44%) | (4) Hello Neighbour 28/1, Outclassed when stepping up in grade on flat return, finishing down the field in the Lenebane Stakes (Listed) at Roscommon. May ideally prefer easier ground and vulnerable in this class. Won C&D Grade 1 juvenile hurdle in February, absent since a disappointing Flat run in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (28/1 -75%)Irancy |
28/1(-75%) | (5) Irancy 28/1, Paid the price for trying to go with the winner and needed the run when fourth, beaten 35l, in the Morgiana Hurdle (Grade 1) at Punchestown last time. Grade 1 winner as a novice. Effective at 2m and on soft or good ground. Yard has won four of the last five renewals but holds stronger claims. Grade 2 winner, needs to find form again after poor run behind Lossiemouth in the Morgiana. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (80/1 +20%)Winter Fog |
80/1(+20%) | (6) Winter Fog 80/1, Found little and was comfortably held in the Ascot Hurdle (Grade 2) at Ascot last time. Effective from 2m to 3m, best in small fields when ridden to pick up the pieces. Yard has won four of the last five editions of this race. Veteran has been well below his best over longer trips in Britain on his last two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (300/1 -20%)Futurum Regem |
300/1(-20%) | (3) Futurum Regem 300/1, Outpaced and never threatened when finishing down the field in a handicap at Dundalk most recently. Faces a very tough task at this level. Four years since he won two handicap hurdles at Navan, making up the numbers here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Still only six rising seven, the top-class LOSSIEMOUTH can record her ninth Grade 1 victory and her fourth this year. She won the Mares' Hurdle at Cheltenham for the second time in March and followed up in the Aintree Hurdle. After a summer break, she faced a simple task in the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown last month and duly made all to easily beat three rivals. Anzadam finished second in a dramatic Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle and it will be interesting to see how he fares with that run under his belt. Brighterdaysahead, rerouted from a planned novice chase campaign, was a stunning winner of this race last year but disappointed on two subsequent starts.

Last year's winner Brighterdaysahead faces a big task against prolific winner LOSSIEMOUTH, who has a run under her belt

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (17/2 -70%)Bunting |
17/2(-70%) | (6) Bunting 17/2, Short of room on a couple of occasions and ran to form up in trip when beaten 3 1/2l off a 39lb lower mark at Newmarket last time. Off a short break; inconsistent but fair mark on best form in both codes; holds a chance. Fit from Flat campaign that ended with Cesarewitch third, lends weight to yard's challenge. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (10/1 +38%)Wendrock |
10/1(+38%) | (10) Wendrock 10/1, Outpaced and never threatened when fourth beaten 19l in the Jack McInerney Memorial Hurdle (Grade 3) at Fairyhouse latest. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (28/1 -12%)Ashdale Bob |
28/1(-12%) | (2) Ashdale Bob 28/1, Pulled up in a Listed Handicap Hurdle at Navan latest. Effective from 2 1/4m to 3m and acts on any ground; well treated on Graded form but below his best of late. High-class performer in his prime, vulnerable now, rider's 7lb claim is the main positive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (13/2 +46%)Sa Fureur |

Effective at 2m on any ground; progressive. Raised 8lb for winning at Listowel; fourth to Zillow at Fairyhouse off this mark, new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (50/1 -100%)Franciscan Rock |
50/1(-100%) | (1) Franciscan Rock 50/1, Landed a handicap by 1/2l off a 9lb lower mark at Punchestown in November; a bit below form on a quick return when fourth in the Conditions Hurdle at Clonmel latest. Blinkers on for the first time; effective at 3m on soft and good ground; just below top level. Smart hurdler at his best, often highly tried, hard to fancy with big burden, blinkered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (28/1 -40%)Teed Up |
28/1(-40%) | (13) Teed Up 28/1, Below form back down in trip when well beaten in a Listed Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse latest. Trainer in form; effective 2-2 3/4m; inconsistent dual-purpose performer should at least appreciate this step up in trip. Galway specialist, four of his five Flat wins and both hurdle wins at that venue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (6/1 +14%)Blue Mosque |
6/1(+14%) | (12) Blue Mosque 6/1, Not clear run, travelled well and was out-battled late when second beaten 3 1/2l in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel Hurdle at Punchestown latest. Best around 2 1/2m on any ground; consistent though a touch frustrating as a novice. Absent since second in a conditions race at Punchestown in April, generally reliable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (22/1 -57%)Thecompanysergeant |
22/1(-57%) | (8) Thecompanysergeant 22/1, Yard took this race last year. Pulled up in the Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Cheltenham latest; generally consistent if a touch frustrating; stiff task. Ran well over hurdles at the Punchestown festival, not at his best over fences since then. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (3) (6/1 +25%)Air Of Entitlement |
6/1(+25%) | (3) Air Of Entitlement 6/1, Ran to form, just tiring late behind a race-fit rival when second beaten 5l in the Conditions Hurdle at Fairyhouse latest. Off a short break; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m on any ground and should come on for that run to reverse form with conqueror. Mark looks generous based on spring Cheltenham win. Winner of Mares' Novice at Cheltenham, may reverse seasonal debut form with Far Eadrainn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (11) (20/1 -67%)Fad Eadrainn |
20/1(-67%) | (11) Fad Eadrainn 20/1, Did it cosily and improved back down in trip for an in-form yard when winning the Conditions Hurdle at Fairyhouse by 5l last time. Off a short break; effective 2-2 1/2m on any ground; form franked and progressing. Getting a stone when upstaging Air Of Entitlement at Fairyhouse, not sure to uphold form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (7) (13/2 -63%)Zillow |
13/2(-63%) | (7) Zillow 13/2, Travelled strongly and did it readily, aided by a late faller, when winning a Listed Handicap Hurdle by 4 1/4l off a 9lb lower mark at Fairyhouse last time. Effective at 2m with some cut; more to come judged on useful French flat form. Has won both races this season, form franked on Saturday, may improve again up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (40/1 -233%)Blue Lemons |
40/1(-233%) | (4) Blue Lemons 40/1, Made too much use of the pace and likely found the ground too quick when finishing down the field in a handicap at Ascot most recently; fair mark on Grade 2 juvenile win but needs some rain. Grade 2 juvenile winner last season, first run since Royal Ascot, stable has a strong hand. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

ZILLOW has won his last two starts over hurdles, as well as a 1m4f win on the Polytrack at Dundalk, and can continue his progression. He had Last Kingdom back in fourth when scoring over 2m at Fairyhouse and the runner-up in that race won here on Saturday. Decent ground will help his chances of staying as he steps up to 2m4f for the first time in handicap company. There are no stamina doubts about another Mullins contender, Bunting, who was third in the Cesarewitch and ran creditably in the Scottish Champion Hurdle in the spring. Blue Mosque had some strong novice form last season and has to be of interest.

Given the excellent form of the Elliott stable, it could pay to take a chance with SA FUREUR who flopped when favourite here last year

Effective at 2m and acts on soft ground; open to further improvement and a stiffer track should suit. Recruited for £220,000 and showed a willing attitude to collect by 3l at Fairyhouse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (16/1 -60%)Passenger |
16/1(-60%) | (6) Passenger 16/1, Flattened out late on testing ground at a stiff track when back from a break, finishing 15l third in the Future Champions Flat Race (Listed) at Navan. Effective between 2m and 2 1/2m and acts on soft and good ground; progressing with form franked. Impressed on good ground at Cork and ground was testing when beaten next time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (16/1 -14%)Royal Hillsborough |
16/1(-14%) | (8) Royal Hillsborough 16/1, Returned to form after a break on easier ground when second, beaten 6 1/2l, in the Listed Mares Flat Race at Navan. Effective at 2m and handles ground with cut; in form and her latest run has been boosted. No match for the winner at Navan but that horse has since floored Bambino Fever. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (18/1 -260%)Mossy Way |
18/1(-260%) | (5) Mossy Way 18/1, Went clear easily and improved when dropped in class to win a Ladies bumper at Limerick by 27l. Effective at 2m; in fair form but will need to find a bit more now stepping up in class. Appeared to take a huge step forward when making all for a 27l success at Limerick (heavy). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (11/4 +21%)Gomez Addams |
11/4(+21%) | (2) Gomez Addams 11/4, Travelled strongly and made a very promising debut when a 6 1/2l winner in a 4yo bumper at Galway. Effective at 2m and acts on good ground; debut form has been franked at Listed level and he looks competitive up in class. 11-2 when impressing at Galway (good) and had a subsequent Listed winner back in third. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (13/8 +35%)Bud Fox |
13/8(+35%) | (1) Bud Fox 13/8, Travelled well and flattened out late when returning from a break, finishing a 6 1/4l third in the Three Counties Christmas Open NH Flat Race (Listed) at Cheltenham. Effective at 2m and acts on good to yielding ground; looks a smart prospect. Relinquished his unbeaten record at Cheltenham on ground perhaps too soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/1 +21%)The First Turn |
11/1(+21%) | (7) The First Turn 11/1, Overcame trouble to make a very promising debut when winning by 3/4l in an auction bumper at Thurles. Returning from a short break; effective at 2m and acts on good ground; debut form franked and worth this step up in grade. Justified favouritism with a narrow win at Thurles despite signs of inexperience. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (18/1 -80%)Jerry From Kerry |
18/1(-80%) | (3) Jerry From Kerry 18/1, Ran to form but lacked the pace of the principals when fourth, beaten 7 1/4l, in the Future Champions Flat Race (Listed) at Navan. Trainer in form; returning from a long layoff; effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground; consistent performer. Beaten in five of his six bumpers but has been competitive in all bar one; long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (125/1 -25%)Tell Me See |
125/1(-25%) | (9) Tell Me See 125/1, Kingston Hill gelding; full-brother to Backwithyourown, a smart performer over 16f. Second foal out of a 2m Listed hurdle winner but he's flying quite high here on debut. |

Andy Slattery produced several smart bumper horses this year and amongst them was GOMEZ ADDAMS, who won impressively at the Galway Festival in July. The son of Hillstar has now joined Henry de Bromhead but Adam Ryan, attached to the Slattery yard and great value for his 5lb claim, retains the ride. The selection will be helped by drying ground and can put his speed to good use. Bud Fox won on spring ground at Punchestown and soft conditions may have counted against him when he was third at Cheltenham, but the winner of that Listed contest had been beaten over 7 lengths by Gomez Addams at Galway. Fairyhouse winner Keep Him Company may be vulnerable to speedier types.

A good race contested by seven previous winners. BUD FOX is taken to bounce back from his defeat on soft ground at Cheltenham.
Ths is the racecard key.
