11/1(+8%) | (1) Buckle And Bolts 11/1, Raced freely beaten 8l in a handicap over 8f at The Curragh last time; up in trip; more needed even taking significant drop in grade Ordinary form in maidens and on handicap debut, others better suited by race conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (100/1 -733%)Viceregent |
100/1(-733%) | (10) Viceregent 100/1, Raced freely down the field in a handicap over 1m6f at Navan most recent; generally out of form since returning from lay off; down in trip; off a short-break; needs to prove ability remains Won over 1m6f for Charles Byrnes in 2023, has failed to prosper for this stable so far. |

GRACESOLUTION has good recent form and is ideally suited by these conditions. A three-time career winner over middle-distances, she is an eight-year-old but has been holding her form well. 10-year-old Magnetic North is a 12-time winner who debuts for new connections, having shown good form in Britain in April. He too is suited by this distance but concedes plenty of weight to the selection. Solomon is noted too.

10lb clainer Shane Markey, has good prospects of recording a breakthrough success on the consistent GRACESOLUTION

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (15/2 -7%)Edergole's Angel |

FAIRE LA NOUBA's fascinating Chester Vase form was boosted in the Derby on Saturday and he might build on that display. The selection showed ability in handicaps last season and doesn't have Lambourn to contend with here. Edergole's Angel has proven handicap form but, interestingly, is held by the selection on Naas form last September. Ranting And Raven, Flying Fortress and Enziya have useful recent form too.

An improved run at Killarney gives RANTING AND RAVEN (nap) a strong chance of going one place better with the help of a 7lb claim.

VALOROUS POWER contested a useful maiden last month and can put his experience to good use. He made the running at the Curragh before eventually tiring behind able types and, dropping in distance, he can again race prominently and score. Naples' yard operates at a high strike-rate and while gelded ahead of his debut, his winning dam hails from a smart family. Daler is tried in a first-time tongue-tie and is also considered.

In an open race, Slight preference is for VALOROUS POWER who can build on a recent Curragh fourth

BELLAPHINA hasn't run for 49 days but returns to a course where she won her maiden in 2023. Ground-versatile, she showed nice form at Gowran in April having met trouble in running. Another previous course winner, Anvika failed to win at Dundalk last winter but ran well on her recent reappearance. Recent hurdles winner Expound is an able Flat performer and cannot be overlooked.

Better ground should suit course winner BELLAPHINA who made a pleasing seasonal debut in testing conditions that were not ideal

Last of 14 at the halfway point, DRAGON OF MALTA made good late headway to finish sixth on his most recent outing at Down Royal. Back up to a mile now and with Colin Keane retaining the ride, the locally trained eight-year-old should give a good account of himself. Already twice successful this season and beaten by just a neck at Gowran last month, Harry The Rogue is sure to have plenty of supporters in this competitive heat, with Tofino another of definite interest. The only three-year-old in the line-up, the Gavin Cromwell-trained latter looks capable of making her presence felt. Dual C&D winner Church Mountain, Kieran Cotter's Martinelli and the returning Kinda Tiny are others for the shortlist.

Upped in grade HARRY THE ROGUE can continue his progression

13th (2) (66/1 -65%)Still Rolling |
66/1(-65%) | (2) Still Rolling 66/1, Appeared not to stay down the field in a handicap over 10f at Cork most recent; generally out of form; down in trip; bit to find Soundly beaten both handicaps this term; handicapper relenting but still others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (7) (100/1 -203%)Layoftheland |
100/1(-203%) | (7) Layoftheland 100/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap over 6f at Fairyhouse most recent; in poor form; usually held up; up in trip; more needed No obvious claims on recent form although has been given every chance by the handicapper. |

Akeela and Katie Ross start off for Ian Donoghue and Gavin Cromwell respectively and both are of definite interest. Bought out of a claimer at Gowran last month, the former is tried in a first-time hood and tongue-tie, with Dylan Browne McMonagle a significant jockey booking. For a selection, ZARAAHMANDO gets the nod. A never-nearer fifth of 20 when last seen at Naas in April, he looks capable of making his presence felt off a revised mark of 53. Top-weight Cherry Pink finished behind the selection in that Naas contest, but has been in great form since. Chou Chou warrants respect with Colin Keane aboard.

Top-weight Cherry Pink demands respect but preference is for the less exposed 3yo ZARAAHMANDO

15th (4) (28/1 -180%)Haeret In Pectore |
28/1(-180%) | (4) Haeret In Pectore 28/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability; down in trip; significant jockey booking; more needed to defy stiff looking mark Big prices and ran accordingly both runs this term but worth a market check with Keane on. |

IN THE MINUS was the subject of a gamble when fifth at Dundalk in March and while failing to make an impact in two subsequent starts, he put in an improved performance when last seen at Naas in April. Sixth of 20 at the Tipper Road venue, he has since dropped to a career-low mark of 52 and it'll be disappointing if he's not involved at the business end. Beaten just three-quarters of a length into second at Listowel, it'll come as no surprise if Dinamine manages to go a place better, while it'll be interesting to see how Haeret In Pectore fares with Colin Keane aboard.

Denied a clear run at Down Royal last time, MERCHANTS ARCH is now taken to get off the mark with his rider now taking off 3lb

25/1(-14%) | (8) Evening's Empire 25/1, Refused in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Clonmel latest; returning from long layoff; not proven trip; bit to find Absent since running out over hurdles last October for the Harty's; may need this. |

Second and third in this contest 12 months ago, CURIOUS BRIDE and Say It So are both of interest, with preference for the Eamonn O'Connell-trained former. Successful over the course and distance in July of last year, the selection clearly acts well around here. Disappointing in recent starts at the Curragh and Killarney, she might bounce back to form here with Dylan O'Connor claiming a valuable 10lb. Say It So won three in a row towards the end of last year and should step forward from his recent comeback effort at Listowel. A beaten favourite when last seen at Roscommon, Carried With Love could improve for the application of cheekpieces.

QUIZ TEST caught the eye at Listowel and can reverse form with Dark Note
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
