4/1(+33%) | (1) So Sassy 4/1, Every chance and close to current level beaten 2l off a 2lb higher mark here last time; trainer in form; effective 6/7f, acts on GF, G and AW; running ok but struggling for very best, mark is easing. Got up late to beat Cooramook over C&D in August; encouraging run here latest. |

25/1(-79%) | (7) Lahina Bay 25/1, Ran about to form when fourth, beaten 5l off 63 last time. Effective at 5/6f and acts on the all-weather. Effective at 6/7f and acts on the all-weather. Could progress slightly with a more measured ride. First 6f run since touched off by So Sassy over C&D in August; less favourable terms today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (13/8 +35%)Calafrio |
13/8(+35%) | (9) Calafrio 13/8, Good effort considering a wide trip from a high draw when fifth, beaten 3l off 59 last time. Effective at 6f and acts on the all-weather. Could have a little more to offer with a better passage. Bumpy career but impressed at Kempton (6f) on yard debut; respected with Oisin Murphy up. |

9th (6) (66/1 -100%)Griselda |
66/1(-100%) | (6) Griselda 66/1, Disappointing again when down the field in a handicap at Leicester last time. Returns from a short break following a wind operation. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ALL TOO BEAUTIFUL secured a double when scoring over C&D a few weeks ago and a 6lb rise for that success may not be enough to stop her from making it a hat-trick. The consistent Addarella could prove to be the main threat to the selection, although So Sassy and Lahina Bay are others who arrive with valid form claims.

Calafrio is a force to be reckoned with but ALL TOO BEAUTIFUL is improving and was a ready winner over C&D last time.

Kept on well over 7f here but didn't see out the stiff 1m at Newcastle; now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/1 +50%)Upsomdowns |
9/1(+50%) | (3) Upsomdowns 9/1, Raced too freely early and weakened when well held in a maiden at Kempton last time. Returns from a short break. Effective at 7f on all-weather but needs to settle better. 66-1 and bigger in all 3 starts; some promise on 2nd start; may do better now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (7/4 +50%)Charlotte Corday |
7/4(+50%) | (2) Charlotte Corday 7/4, Improved a fraction up a little in trip landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 8/9f, latter suits better, acts on GS, G and AW; consistent sort. 5th (4) (9/4 +0%)Credit Forgedd It |
9/4(+0%) | (4) Credit Forgedd It 9/4, Ran well from the front when beaten a neck off this mark at Wolverhampton last time. Suited by 7f and 8f, acts on all-weather. 6th (1) (4/1 -129%)Florida Suite |
4/1(-129%) | (1) Florida Suite 4/1, Landed a handicap by 1 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Southwell last time. The trainer is in form. Effective at 7f and 8f, may stay further, acts on all-weather. Improved markedly for headgear and looks open to further progress. No real impact in three 7f runs but finished strongly for handicap debut win at 1m; up 6lb. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CREDIT FORGEDD IT was only beaten a neck into second over an extended mile at Wolverhampton earlier in the week and Richard Hannon's gelding could be hard to beat off the same mark here. Florida Suite is an obvious threat following her Southwell success a couple of weeks ago, while Charlotte Corday is the clear pick of the remaining field.

Florida Suite and CHARLOTTE CORDAY come here with quite taking wins under their belt and the latter is only marginally preferred.

6/1(-50%) | (3) Foothold 6/1, Made steady late headway when beaten 1 1/4l in a Bath maiden last time; bred to appreciate at least a mile, dam stayed well; more to come as he steps up in trip. Fifth in all three starts on turf last year; should stay 1m; contender if ready to go. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (7/1 +72%)Terranoble |
7/1(+72%) | (7) Terranoble 7/1, Made late gains after being outpaced when beaten 9 1/4l in a 1m maiden here on debut; trainer in form; sire was a sprinter, dam stayed 10f; acts on AW and should improve, particularly when stepped up in trip. 50/1(-25%) | (8) Dor's Dazzler 50/1, Dream Ahead filly; half-sister to Dor's Dream, modest at 8f; dam was fair at 8f; may need the experience first time out. Stable not known for winning newcomers. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (33/1 -175%)Pangbourne |
33/1(-175%) | (10) Pangbourne 33/1, Planteur filly; half-sister to Golden Samba, modest over 14f; dam was useful at 12f; likely to need this initial outing. Stable does have winning newcomers, but her pedigree suggests she will need further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (10/3 +72%)Tonyfromhr |
10/3(+72%) | (2) Tonyfromhr 10/3, 35,000gns Zoustar colt; full brother to I Maximus, very useful at 6f as a 2yo; dam was very smart at 5f at two; interesting debutant worth watching in the market. Interesting on breeding, but would be a rare winning newcomer from the yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (300/1 -200%)Serragasso |
300/1(-200%) | (5) Serragasso 300/1, Showed nothing when well beaten in a novice here on his only start; drawn wide; should be suited by 1m but has plenty to prove after a poor debut. Beaten a long way into last of 12 on his debut over C&D 12 days ago; no appeal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MASKATTO put in a career best when filling second place over 7f at Southwell in October and the step up in trip can help the son of Masar to go one better on this occasion. Foothold also showed more on his most recent start and has to be considered as a result, while any market support for Goldust Woman or Tonyfromhr would be noteworthy.

This can go to MASKATTO who sets a fair standard. The stable won a division of this race last year.

9/4(+32%) | (5) Way To Dubai 9/4, Ran to form up in trip when beaten 3/4l off this mark here last time. Effective over 6-8f and acts on AW. In very solid form though the mark may be a little stiff. Beaten less than a length into third over C&D on Wednesday; major player with a repeat. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

4/1(-60%) | (4) Pitney 4/1, Ran to best recent form when beaten a neck off a 1lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. Trainer in form. Effective over 7-9f and acts on AW. Seems to have regressed but remains in good form at this level. Went down by only a neck at Wolverhampton three weeks ago; one of the likelier winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (25/1 -25%)My Awele |
25/1(-25%) | (2) My Awele 25/1, Showed no enthusiasm and finished down the field in a handicap here most recently. Effective over 5-6f and acts on a sound surface. Looked irresolute last time. 7f has looked a struggle so not hard to have reservations over this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (17/2 +47%)Union Island |
17/2(+47%) | (3) Union Island 17/2, Ran very flat, probably needing the run, when beaten 9l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time. Effective over 8-9f and acts on AW. Needs to prove he retains ability after a break. Five of his six wins have come at around this trip; may have needed last month's return. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (40/1 -122%)Fool Again |
40/1(-122%) | (8) Fool Again 40/1, Very weak effort down the field in a handicap here most recent start; blinkers first time; effective 7-11f, acts on GF and AW; recent form looks unreliable, head may assist. Promising early on as a 2yo, but has gone the wrong way since and now 0-9; blinkers on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Pitney will be popular after finishing a narrow second at Wolverhampton three weeks ago, as might Way To Dubai, who posted a creditable third over C&D on New Year's Eve. However, a chance can be taken on VIRTUE PATIENCE. Amanda Perrett's charge didn't run too badly here latest and, on his second start following wind surgery, it is quite possible that he will take a step forward.

This may be a good opportunity for WAY TO DUBAI after he finished a close third over C&D on Wednesday.

Had been in good form at that trip before the run and could bounce back, though 12f may be on the short side. 0-7; each-way claims on best form, but dropping to 1m4f on a sharp track may not be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (6/4 +40%)Jack Langley |
6/4(+40%) | (4) Jack Langley 6/4, Ran to form when dropped in trip, landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 4lb lower mark here last time. Suited by 12f, stays 16f, and acts on all-weather. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (50/1 +0%)Boston Run |
50/1(+0%) | (3) Boston Run 50/1, Made plenty of use of but ran poorly when down the field in a handicap at Kempton most recently. Effective from 8f to 10f and acts on all-weather. The handicapper is relenting but he has been out of form for some time. Has become disappointing and now 0-14; makes little appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

9th (2) (80/1 -627%)Marine |
80/1(-627%) | (2) Marine 80/1, Produced a moderate effort when fourth, beaten 15l, in a novice here last time. Likely to prefer 1m2f or further and has yet to show any reliable form. Only had three starts despite being an 8yo; worth a market check on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (125/1 -468%)Bramble Jelly |
125/1(-468%) | (10) Bramble Jelly 125/1, Ran a poor race when comfortably held in a handicap at Bath last time. Returning from a short break. Acts on all-weather. Out of form before the break. Out of the frame in five starts on the AW so enough to prove back from 75 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (250/1 -400%)Luisa |
250/1(-400%) | (6) Luisa 250/1, Showed no enthusiasm in cheekpieces when finishing down the field in a handicap here most recently. Effective up to 10f with all worthwhile form on all-weather. Has become irresolute. Nothing in four starts for this yard and now 0-9; look elsewhere. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A 5lb penalty might not be enough to stop Mr Nugget but a wide draw might and, although respected, JACK LANGLEY is preferred. The son of Time Test has won on his last two visits here, the latest of those over slightly further, and that excellent track craft can enable him to defy a 4lb rise in the handicap. Dubai Harbour is also noted.

Preference is for MR NUGGET under a penalty for his recent Southwell win. He does handle Polytrack too.

25/1(-25%) | (3) Educator 25/1, Produced a poor effort when beaten 9l in a handicap here last time. Usually held up. Suited by 12f and a sound surface but has lost form. Has regressed since winning twice last spring and and not easy to recommend for now. |

16/1(-60%) | (7) Eupator 16/1, Good effort tried in blinkers, made plenty of use of and beaten 2l off this mark at Wolverhampton last time. Stays 12f and acts on all-weather. 9th (4) (4/5 +0%)Westcombe |
4/5(+0%) | (4) Westcombe 4/5, Had the run of the race but front two (Charlie's Choice the other) well clear landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time; trainer in form; effective 7-12f, acts on GS and AW; progressing, should go well again. Has taken off since returning in November; should be hard to beat in his hat-trick bid. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This intermediate trip would appear to be the key to WESTCOMBE, who won at Kempton before following up at Wolverhampton three days later. A 6lb rise shouldn't be enough to anchor Sir Mark Prescott's four-year-old and he is expected to complete the hat-trick. Pride Of Donegal merits respect back up in trip, while the consistent Charlie's Choice won't be far away either.

The choice is WESTCOMBE (nap) who has looked progressive in winning his last two starts.

2nd (3) (10/1 -11%)Edergole's Gift |
10/1(-11%) | (3) Edergole's Gift 10/1, Bit below form when beaten 5l off 59 last time. Cheekpieces on for the first time; effective at 6f and 7f, acts on a sound surface; difficult to fancy given last two runs. C&D winner; held in both starts since winning off 6lb lower at Chelmsford; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (11/2 -38%)Kondratiev Wave |
11/2(-38%) | (7) Kondratiev Wave 11/2, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/2l off this mark here last time. Wide draw; effective at 7f and 8f, acts on any surface, likes sharp tracks; mark looks a shade stiff. Losing run up to 21, but ran well when third over 1m here last month; should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/2 +25%)Blue Empress |
9/2(+25%) | (5) Blue Empress 9/2, Probably made too much use of when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. In good form prior; effective at 7f, acts on all-weather; still a maiden but has hit form. Weighted to reverse recent running with Dandy Khan, but a record of 0-19 raises questions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (20/1 -25%)Porfin |
20/1(-25%) | (8) Porfin 20/1, Poor effort when beaten 7l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 6f and 7f, acts on all-weather; out of form. Four wins here, but hasn't threatened for a while; probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (100/1 -52%)Resilient Lady |
100/1(-52%) | (6) Resilient Lady 100/1, Poor effort when well beaten in a handicap at Windsor latest. Returning from a break and lacks reliable form. Unplaced in seven starts under rules; has never raced over a trip this short. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (85/40 +39%)Cill Mocheallog |
85/40(+39%) | (2) Cill Mocheallog 85/40, Ran to form when beaten a length off this mark at Southwell last time. Effective at 7f and acts on all-weather; in good form. Placed in both starts off this mark since the blinkers went on; shouldn't be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (50/1 -52%)Cali Case |
50/1(-52%) | (4) Cali Case 50/1, Poor run for no obvious reason when down the field in a handicap at Wolverhampton most recently. Wide draw; effective at 5f and 6f, acts on all-weather, and his mark has eased. 0-8; fourth at Wolverhampton early last month, but didn't repeat it back there a week ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (33/1 +18%)Invincible Storm |
33/1(+18%) | (9) Invincible Storm 33/1, Looked unenthusiastic under pressure when down the field in a handicap at Southwell most recently. Effective at 7f and 8f, acts on all-weather; exposed and unreliable maiden. Fourth here last month may flatter him and now 0-18; look elsewhere. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CILL MOCHEALLOG has shown signs of a revival of late and a first success in a handicap could be attainable if the blinkers and tongue-tie combination continues to draw improvement. Given he sat on a rating of 88 at his prime as a three-year-old, his current mark of 59 makes him a tempting proposition. Blue Empress is dangerous to underestimate with Harry Vigors claiming 7lb in the plate. Dandy Khan, a dual course winner last month, is another must for consideration.

Nothing comes into this in better form than DANDY KHAN, who should relish the return to this track.

11/2(+8%) | (2) Naval Ensign 11/2, Ran to form when beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; effective over 6f or 7f, with a mile likely to suit. Acts on good to soft and all-weather surfaces; mark easing and form fair despite finishing positions. 0-12; finished behind two of these over C&D last month; others stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/4 +8%)Toussarok |
11/4(+8%) | (1) Toussarok 11/4, Back to form when beaten a neck off a 1lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time; effective over 6f or 7f and acts on a sound surface. Not the most generous mark but should be competitive in a modest race. Most of his wins have come over shorter, but he is fine over a sharp 7f; major claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (4/1 -33%)Sanditon |
4/1(-33%) | (3) Sanditon 4/1, Back to form when tried in cheekpieces, beaten 1/2l off a 1lb lower mark here last time. Visor goes on for the first time; effective at 7f and acts on all-weather. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/4 +39%)Tam Lin |
11/4(+39%) | (5) Tam Lin 11/4, Ran to form when made plenty of use of and beaten 4l off a mark of 59 last time; effective over 7f or 8f and acts on all-weather. In solid form. Dual Polytrack winner over this trip; needs to improve on latest effort on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (33/1 -230%)Miraflores |
33/1(-230%) | (7) Miraflores 33/1, Got a soft lead and produced her best ever run despite being swamped late, beaten 1 1/2l off this mark here last time. Drawn wide; effective at 7f and acts on all-weather. Not the most reliable but offered first signs of promise last time. 0-8; just a length behind Sanditon over C&D last month but needs to build on it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (5/1 +0%)Thomas Equinas |
5/1(+0%) | (4) Thomas Equinas 5/1, Ran to form back in cheekpieces when beaten 2l off this mark here last time; has a wide draw and returns from a short break. Effective over 7f or 8f with good recent efforts on the all-weather; should be in the mix again. 5-25 at Chelmsford and 0-15 elsewhere, albeit he ran well when third over C&D in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (80/1 -21%)Lasswade |
80/1(-21%) | (8) Lasswade 80/1, Very poor effort when finishing down the field in a handicap here most recently; no worthwhile form. Has beaten only a handful of rivals in his nine starts; makes no appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (12/1 +52%)Friday Again |
12/1(+52%) | (6) Friday Again 12/1, Hood tried but another below-par run up in trip when beaten 5l in a handicap here last time; cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective at 6f or 7f and acts on all-weather; drop in trip may help but remains out of form. Promising when second here at the end of 2024, but has regressed since; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (150/1 -127%)Hannahs Story |
150/1(-127%) | (9) Hannahs Story 150/1, Poor effort off a break last time and has shown no worthwhile form to date. Very poor form in nine starts on AW/over hurdles for four different stables. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

This is the weaker of the two divisions and a market watch should be prioritised. Tam Lin and Toussarok are respected, while Thomas Equinas is effective on Polytrack but hasn't won away from his beloved Chelmsford. Nevertheless, a chance is taken on SANDITON, who was only a neck behind the winner when third over C&D last time. With a first-time visor added, he could step forward.

The choice is TOUSSAROK who bounced right back to form when beaten a neck in a slightly better race at Wolverhampton a week ago.
Ths is the racecard key.
