|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (3/1 +25%)Muy Muy Loco |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

9/2(+50%) | (1) Kathleen Mary 9/2, Bit keen and below form when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap here last time; cheekpieces are applied for the first time. Effective up to 10f; needs more but this drop in trip is a plus. Hasn't progressed since handicapping; needs first-time cheekpieces to make difference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (50/1 -178%)Qaaeadd |
50/1(-178%) | (12) Qaaeadd 50/1, Bit below form when beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap at Salisbury last time, having been in good form prior. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (11/1 -38%)Beta Reader |
11/1(-38%) | (8) Beta Reader 11/1, Ran to form beaten a head off a 1lb lower mark here last time; effective 7-10f, acts on GF and AW; chance if building on recent efforts. Two good placed efforts over C&D since joining Laura Mongan; should figure again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (16/1 -33%)Springbok |
16/1(-33%) | (11) Springbok 16/1, Not the best of runs and should have finished closer when beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Southwell last time. Usually held up; still a maiden but well worth this step up in trip. Respectable efforts over 1m of late but his record is now 0-15. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (7/1 +50%)My Awele |
7/1(+50%) | (4) My Awele 7/1, Did not get home when stepped up in trip, beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark at Chelmsford last time. Effective over 6-8f; stamina still to prove. Stamina seemed to run out late when tacking 1m2f for first time at Chelmsford latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A step up to this trip has really brought out the best from MUY MUY LOCO, who recorded a second C&D success earlier this month. Simon Dow's charge is in a little deeper today but a 4lb rise looks fair and he is expected to continue his affinity with this track and trip. Beta Reader went down by a narrow margin last time and is of obvious interest, whilst Seventy could be dangerous if coping with an ease in distance.

If MUY MUY LOCO is in the same form as when scoring over C&D three weeks ago he may go in again.

9/2(+10%) | (5) Henrythenate 9/2, Pace collapsed and he won going away by 2 1/4l off an 8lb lower mark here last time; effective at 5f; much improved in a tongue-tie of late and could easily go close in his hat-trick bid up to 6f. Up 16lb for his two impressive 5f wins here for new yard; up in trip; not fully exposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (4/1 +0%)Star Of Albion |
4/1(+0%) | (3) Star Of Albion 4/1, Ran to form off a break, stepping up in trip and blinkered, when winning a novice here by 2 1/4l last time; effective at 5/6f; progressing and open to further improvement. Easy C&D novice win on last month's return; another step forward needed in this field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (22/1 -38%)Gold Queen Kindly |
22/1(-38%) | (2) Gold Queen Kindly 22/1, Disappointing off a break on his first AW run when down the field in a handicap at Newcastle most recently; cheekpieces worn for the first time; effective at 6f; needs to bounce back. Low-key effort at Newcastle on seasonal return; connections now reach for headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (11/1 -22%)Mr Juggles |
11/1(-22%) | (6) Mr Juggles 11/1, Improved when landing a handicap by 3l off a 7lb lower mark at Southwell last time; effective at 6f and may get 7f; progressive and holds a fair chance in his hat-trick bid. Two 6f wins at Southwell this year; 7lb rise in a more competitive race could find him out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Many of these arrive in excellent form, so only a tentative vote can go to the Stuart Williams-trained HENRYTHENATE. The son of Mayson has really turned a corner since changing hands last month, winning comfortably over 5f here on two occasions, and a further 8lb hike might not stop the progressive three-year-old. Fellow hat-trick seeker Mr Juggles should be a threat, as should Lord Harcourt, whilst Saffron Dandy, Star Of Albion and Horace Wallace are others to consider.

Henrythenate isn't opposed lightly but LORD HARCOURT enhanced his reputation in defeat last time and can make it 3-3 over C&D.

10/1(+9%) | (9) Ziggy's Queen 10/1, Ran to form, albeit not convincing with her head carriage, when second at Southwell last time. Hood worn for the first time; suited by 6f; in form and remains competitive. Running well this year but the new trip/headgear needs to prompt a bit more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/2 +54%)Powdering |
11/2(+54%) | (2) Powdering 11/2, Below form but with excuses when beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap at Kempton last time. Effective at 6/7f; back down to her last winning mark but needs more. On a good mark and this year's two runs both better than the finishing position suggests. |

5th (1) (8/1 -7%)Bridget's View |
8/1(-7%) | (1) Bridget's View 8/1, Bit keen and didn't get home when fifth, beaten 7l off 88 last time, and is 1lb lower here. Effective at 7/8f; the drop in trip may help. Two AW wins for Ed Walker; sold 40,000gns since latest run; not fully exposed; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (16/1 -14%)Enola Grey |
16/1(-14%) | (6) Enola Grey 16/1, Did her best work late and ran to form when fifth, beaten 6/4l off 79 last time, and is 1lb lower here. Suited by 7/8f, with most of her form on AW; can go well again. Good winner at Wolverhampton in December; has run okay twice since; fast pace would suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (5/2 +58%)Mereside Diva |
5/2(+58%) | (5) Mereside Diva 5/2, Blinkers tried and probably found a bit better form when landing a handicap by 1/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Newcastle last time. Top course jockey booked; effective at 7f; needs to continue the progress brought about by blinkers. Back to winning ways in blinkers two weeks ago (7f, Tapeta); new mark still manageable. |

11/1(-144%) | (7) Penelope Valentine 11/1, Bit keen but improved when upped in trip, landing a handicap by 3/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 7-9f and might be happier at 8f+; drop in trip not certain to suit. Conditions to suit and arrives on the back of a personal best; needs more now up in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (10/1 +17%)Bear Rock |
10/1(+17%) | (11) Bear Rock 10/1, Ran to form when back up in trip, landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 6/7f; likely has more to offer at this trip. Good win at Wolverhampton last month; up 3lb but apprentice takes off a valuable 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (50/1 -52%)Cartwheel |
50/1(-52%) | (8) Cartwheel 50/1, Again failed to beat a rival when dropped in trip on her return, beaten 9l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Hood worn for the first time; effective at 7f on AW; bit to prove at present although should come on for the latest. Struggled in handicaps after early promise; hooded now stepping back up in trip; not solid. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Mereside Diva got her revenge on Brazilian Rose at Newcastle last time and the pair should be closely matched once more, but it is PENELOPE VALENTINE that shades preference. James Owen's charge has found steady progress since joining from Alice Haynes in September. Her most recent success was the most impressive and she probably doesn't have much more to do, despite the rise in grade. Party Bear's saddle slipped latest and is no back number.

Bridget's View is a key player on her stable debut but LADY MANZOR remains of interest on AW and can record a third C&D success.

15/2(+6%) | (5) Sergeant Wilko 15/2, Ran to form on his first start since a wind operation when beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark at Newcastle last time. Enjoys making it and is suited by 6f; chance if building on that latest effort. On a good mark and his reappearance was promising; contender despite the widest stall. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (14/1 0%)An Outlaw's Grace |
14/1(0%) | (6) An Outlaw's Grace 14/1, Improved and did his best work late when beaten 3 1/2l off a 2lb higher mark at Newmarket (July) last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective at 6f. Might need this. Promising 2yo; absent since June and makes his comeback in a useful event. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Those at the top of the weights make most appeal, with narrow preference for the hat-trick seeking EL BODON. It's encouraging to see that he won his only previous visit here and recent Kempton victories show him to be going from strength to strength at present. Lakers' narrow defeat to Pocklington looks strong form, with that winner since going close in a similarly competitive Newcastle affair, and he should be in the shake-up again. Ferrous also warrants respect dropping out of Pattern company for the first time since winning at Gosforth Park in May last year.

A cracking race. FAST TRACK HARRY (nap) can maintain a flawless record first time out but several others have claims.

12/1(-167%) | (4) Enemy 12/1, Was a bit keen but ran to form when third, beaten 1/4l off 97 last time, and runs off the same mark here. Effective over 12-16f and remains on a competitive mark. Closely matched with Roaring Legend and Brasil Power on latest Wolverhampton form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/1 -50%)Roaring Legend |
5/1(-50%) | (1) Roaring Legend 5/1, Won this race last year and ran to form when beaten 1l off a 1lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective over 14-16f and seems better on AW. 4/1(+38%) | (5) Brasil Power 4/1, Ran to form when fourth a Wolverhampton latest; effective 8-16f, well suited by middle-distance/staying trips now, acts on GF and AW; handicapper may be catching up. Three wins at up to 1m4f in December and creditable in-frame efforts over 2m since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (5/2 +50%)Anniversary |
5/2(+50%) | (7) Anniversary 5/2, Ran to form up in trip in first-time blinkers beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap at Doncaster last time; returning from long layoff; effective 8-14f, best at the longer trips, acts on Hy and G; type with more to offer as a 4yo but stamina to prove. Low-mileage 4yo who is an interesting contender on return for leading yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (14/1 -40%)Duraji |
14/1(-40%) | (3) Duraji 14/1, Seemed to run to form when beaten 8l in the Listed Prix Denisy at Fontainebleau last time. Returning from a break and effective over 10-14f. A return to his spring best is needed in a first-time hood. Good fourth in 1m6f Glorious Goodwood handicap off similar mark last year; AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (100/1 -100%)Peking Opera |
100/1(-100%) | (8) Peking Opera 100/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Kempton last time. Effective over 8-13f on the Flat and has a bit to prove on this return to the level. Given chance by handicapper but struggled over hurdles lately; plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (20/1 -100%)Prydwen |
20/1(-100%) | (2) Prydwen 20/1, Again a bit below his best when beaten 5l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Trainer in form and effective over 14-16f. Former German St Leger winner has edged down to a fair mark and is not ruled out. Smart in prime but not so good lately, including behind three of these last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

ROARING LEGEND was an impressive five-length winner of this race 12 months ago and his last couple of placed efforts have been to a similar standard. He remains on a competitive mark, despite being 8lb higher than last year, and is fancied to successfully defend his crown. Enemy and Brasil Power weren't far behind the selection at Wolverhampton three weeks ago and could put up most resistance, although Solarize is certainly no back number off his light weight.

It might be worth chancing the stamina of SOLARIZE, who boasts a largely progressive profile, including a second at Kempton last week.

2nd (3) (11/5 +27%)Beylerbeyi |
11/5(+27%) | (3) Beylerbeyi 11/5, Ran to form and would have won in a couple more strides when beaten a head off a 1lb lower mark at Kempton last time; hugely progressive and versatile 6yo but remains to be seen if he has the speed for 10f here. Cesarewitch winner but by no means just a stayer, going close over 1m3f latest; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (15/2 -7%)Wyld Bill |
15/2(-7%) | (7) Wyld Bill 15/2, Improved again and strong at the finish when landing a handicap by a neck off a 2lb lower mark here last time; effective over 10/11f and hugely progressive, with a chance he can complete a four-timer. Made it six wins in last eight AW starts when getting up late over C&D latest; only up 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (15/2 +70%)Flight Plan |
15/2(+70%) | (4) Flight Plan 15/2, Below form when down the field in a handicap at Meydan most recently, possibly not taking to the dirt surface; suited by 8f and back from a spell in Dubai, with stamina to prove. Struggled in Dubai last month but well treated if return to Britain sparks revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (17/2 +58%)Dark Moon Rising |
17/2(+58%) | (8) Dark Moon Rising 17/2, Lacked pace when beaten 6l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; effective over 10-12f on AW and goes well at York. Inconsistent but capable. Went close at York on final start last year but behind a few of these on reappearance. |

6th (1) (14/1 -27%)King's Code |
14/1(-27%) | (1) King's Code 14/1, Ran to form when fifth at Kempton last time, not quite lasting home; effective over 10-12f and hugely progressive on AW, but the handicapper has reacted. Excellent AW record but only fifth off this lofty mark at Kempton latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (20/1 -100%)Qitaal |
20/1(-100%) | (9) Qitaal 20/1, Bit wide but ran to form when beaten 1/2l off this mark here last time; effective over 10f. Inconsistent but capable. Encouraging reappearance when third to Wyld Bill over C&D; player if in same form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (11/2 0%)Duke's Command |
11/2(0%) | (5) Duke's Command 11/2, Improved again up in class when third in the Listed Midnite Quebec Stakes here last time; significant jockey booking and effective over 8-10f. More to come at this distance back in a handicap, with the latest form looking strong. C&D win in December; third in C&D Listed race since but form might be muddling; drawn wide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (66/1 -65%)Bubbles Wonky |
66/1(-65%) | (10) Bubbles Wonky 66/1, Too keen and did not get home back up in trip when beaten 7l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time; effective over 7-10f. Bounce back needed and stamina remains a small concern. Feasibly treated and should be sharper for return but this is a rise in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (66/1 -32%)Trojan Storm |
66/1(-32%) | (11) Trojan Storm 66/1, Again below best over an inadequate trip when well beaten in a handicap at Kempton last time; effective over 11-14f and the trip still looks on the short side. Ascot win in July but hasn't beaten a rival in two AW runs this winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (16/1 -60%)Lord Melbourne |
16/1(-60%) | (2) Lord Melbourne 16/1, Ran to form off a stiff mark when beaten 10l in a handicap at Doncaster last time; had been in good form prior and is returning from a break. Capable fresh but the current mark might be tough enough. Good record since joining Ralph Beckett but may find this test on the sharp side. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

WYLD BILL doesn't appear to have finished his progression based on his win over C&D earlier in the month when defying an 8lb rise for his Kempton success in December. The five-year-old only went up 2lb and makes plenty of appeal once again. Regal Ulixes shaped as though the run was needed when making his first appearance since Royal Ascot at Newcastle last month. Beylerbeyi has run with plenty of credit in two starts following his Cesarewitch victory underlining his versatility trip wise. He completes the shortlist.

If unexposed 4yo REGAL ULIXES proves more tractable with a hood refitted he might prove the answer. Beylerbeyi is second choice.

(3) (3/1 +70%)Superposition |
3/1(+70%) | (3) Superposition 3/1, Too keen and below form when beaten 7l in a handicap at Kempton last time; had been in good form prior; returning from a break; wide draw; suited by 7/8f; better than latest but needs to settle. Scored under Hector Crouch on reappearance last term; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/2 -38%)Popmaster |
11/2(-38%) | (1) Popmaster 11/2, Ran to form when second, beaten 1/2l off 97 last time, and competes from the same mark here; effective at 7/8f; good chance if turned out again quickly. Still useful aged eight and ran creditably on Wednesday when bidding for a Kempton double. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (6/1 +45%)North View |
6/1(+45%) | (8) North View 6/1, Below form when eighth, beaten 4 1/2l off 82 last time, from the same mark here; effective at 7/8f; bounce back needed. May yet confirm the form of reappearance win; not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (15/2 -25%)High On Hope |
15/2(-25%) | (9) High On Hope 15/2, Bit keen and did not quite get home when sixth, beaten 3l off 82 last time, from the same mark here; wide draw; effective at 7/8f; needs more off this mark. Hindered by steady pace last time; progressive otherwise on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (12/1 -20%)Legal Reform |
12/1(-20%) | (4) Legal Reform 12/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 3l off 93 last time, and is 1lb lower here; effective at 7/8f, acts on AW; can go well again back up to 8f. All wins at 7f but latest effort suggests this return to 1m is worth a go. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (16/1 -129%)Eupator |
16/1(-129%) | (7) Eupator 16/1, Not quite at best off a new mark when third, beaten 3l off 82 last time, and is 2lb higher here; effective at 8-12f; drop in trip could work in his favour. Remains of interest, assuming he settles better back down in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (28/1 -273%)Sheikh Raj |
28/1(-273%) | (10) Sheikh Raj 28/1, Weak finishing effort when beaten 9l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; off a short break; effective at 7/8f; competitive mark but bounce back needed. Still a maiden but receives plenty of weight all round; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (28/1 -211%)Tiger Crusade |
28/1(-211%) | (6) Tiger Crusade 28/1, Met a wide bend and had a bit too much to do when second, beaten 1 1/2l off 85 last time, from the same mark here; trainer in form; best at 7f, effective at 6f; first run at 8f since 2021. Has recent course form (7f) and this return to 1m is worth exploring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (80/1 -142%)Diderot |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Diderot 80/1, Never in it from off the pace down in trip when beaten 10l in a handicap at Southwell last time; usually held up; wide draw; effective at 8-12f; step back up in trip may help. The amount of ability he retains is not clear; second run for new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

APIARIST may well have finished closer at Newcastle last time had he not been hampered at a crucial point and the use of Jack Callan's 5lb claim gives him every chance of getting his head back in front. Eupator was denied a hat-trick of victories at Wolverhampton on his latest outing but remains capable of being in the mix. Others for the shortlist are Legal Reform and Tiger Crusade.

This looks the ideal next step for APIARIST who could well regain the winning thread with Jack Callan taking off a useful 5lb.
Ths is the racecard key.
