The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The penny dropped too late for HARPSICHORD when fourth behind a stable companion on her Southwell introduction but the performance still offered plenty of encouragement and, as a half-sister to Godolphin's classy stayer Siskany, she is expected to come into her own now tackling this trip and further. Lesson Of Life is also bred to relish a test of stamina, although Maraaheb might be the primary threat following a solid debut effort at Wolverhampton.

The one to appeal most is HARPSICHORD who looks a good candidate for this longer trip after showing promise over 1m on her debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MELERI ended her 2024 campaign with a couple of seconds at Sandown and Goodwood and although she doesn't have much in the way of all-weather experience, her dam won on Polytrack and Jim Boyle's mare is fancied to make a successful comeback. Darysina Gold has been very consistent since entering the handicap ranks, while Nivelle's Magic is worth a look on her debut for a new stable.

Topweight COUNTESS CANDY is taken to record a first handicap win. Darysina Gold is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Havana Joy has made a promising beginning to her career, getting on to the podium in all three appearances, and reverting to this trip will suit after she was put in her place by an impressive winner over 7f at Wolverhampton. ANNSAR showed plenty of pace on her debut, though, making the frame over 7f at Kempton, and this seems a nice opportunity for her on her return. Cupola is a danger if judged on her C&D third rather than her subsequent Wolverhampton display.

Twice-raced CUPOLA is worth another chance to confirm her debut promise. Annsar and Havana Joy are the main dangers on form.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MOUNT MOGAN continues to go from strength to strength and the hat-trick looks very much on the cards for the son of Helmet after a 4lb rise for his most recent success over C&D. A taking winner over further here last month, Mister Mojito is a key player for in-form connections, as well as Lilkian, who had G'daay (second) over a length behind when scoring at Chelmsford.

Lilkian and G'Daay are ahead of the assessor. MISTER MOJITO is a solid alternative, while Thapa Vc is also respected.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Narrowly denied over C&D by the reopposing Midnightattheoasis last month, with whom she is now 6lb better off, REBEL STAR has since gone close at Chelmsford and this represents an ideal opportunity to get off the mark. Beaten a neck over C&D recently himself by Midnightattheoasis, Recon Mission is expected to be thereabouts, as well as Harb, who was third in that contest.

Maiden REBEL STAR is knocking firmly at the door and may be able to open her account. Recon Mission is second pick.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ANCIENT STATE benefited from a drop to 5f and the application of a tongue-tie when getting off the mark at Wolverhampton, despite not making the best of starts. The extra furlong on this occasion shouldn't pose any issues for the son of Dandy Man, who remains open to further improvement. Rock Master is entitled to step forward from his Chelmsford return with cheekpieces swapped for blinkers. Royal Accord and Sunny Time complete the shortlist.

The way he's heading this term, ROYAL ACCORD (nap) looks set to open his account. Woodhay Whisper is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BACKER BILK has been a model of consistency since beginning life in handicap company, which includes a victory here over 1m2f in February, and he's well respected. Spoilt proved her runner-up effort in maiden company wasn't a fluke when a decent fourth on handicap debut latest, and the extra furlong should help. Skyelight and Eva Dickson appear best of the remainder.

Another chance is given to EVA DICKSON who, judged on breeding, should do better still. Backer Bilk is a solid danger.
Ths is the racecard key.
